Hikigaya is back…
He looks the same as ever…
Is he finished mourning over his sister?...
These are just some of the whispers that Hikigaya Hachiman heard around him, as he walked the hallways of the school, on his way to his first class.
He had just gotten out of the hospital the night before, and when he got to his house he broke down. His house was eerily empty without his sister in it. He tried to get some sleep but failed, even after taking the sleeping pills that he was prescribed.
He sat on the couch thinking about what to do, for the first time in his life he was uncertain. Hikigaya Hachiman, the logic monster, didn't know what to do. He thought back to that moment in the hospital…
Onii-chan… why are you blaming yourself?"
He buried his face in his hands, trying to fight back tears.
"She is right… Why am I blaming myself?"
Hikigaya then looked straight with tears in his eyes.
"She wouldn't want me to sit around moping. She would want me to go on with my life… but I just don't know how to do that…"
He laid down on the couch, thinking about what to do.
Night passed, and in the morning, he was a mess. He barely got any sleep and he still didn't feel any less sad.
"I should go to school today…" He mumbled to himself. He remembered that Hiratsuka-Sensei said that he could take as long as he needed off school to recover, but he didn't have anything else to do and being in the house reminded him too much of Komachi.
So that is why Hikigaya Hachiman was walking the halls of his school and listening to the whispers around him.

Hiratsuka-Sensei's eyes widened when she saw Hikigaya Hachiman enter her classroom. She had at least expected him to take a few days off, but here he was, the exact day after being released from the hospital.
She took a closer look at him as he sat down at his desk.
"He looks like he normally does, the same dead eyes, the same neutral face… but something seems off about him…"
Hikigaya noticed his Sensei looking at him and he cast her a glare, to which she immediately looked away.
"He is terrifying in his current state…" She thought, "I'm sure it's also partially because he hears the other kids talking about him, behind his back.
"Hikigaya, would you remain in the classroom when class is over."
Some of the students stared at him, but just stayed quiet and gave a nod.
Class went as normal and soon it was over. When all the other students left the room, Hiratsuka-Sensei found herself standing face-to-face with Hikigaya Hachiman.
"What do you need Sensei?" He said with a hint of annoyance in his voice.
"Why aren't you taking a few days to recover Hikigaya?"
"I don't need it… I'm fine right now…" He said, looking down and avoiding eye contact.
Hiratsuka-Sensei pulled his chin, put her hands on his shoulders, and looked him in the eyes. She saw the young orphaned boy that she helped take care of all those years ago and she saw that he was hurting just from the look of his eyes. They stayed like that for a moment just staring at each other. Until Hikigaya pulled himself away.
"I'm fine… just… trust me on that…'' Hikigaya said with a sigh, "Now I've got to go to the club, I'll see you tomorrow Sensei.
He then rushed out of the room. Hiratsuka-Sensei sighed to herself.
"He's not fine… I just don't know how to help him."
She took out her phone and started texting a certain friend of Hikigaya Hachiman.

Yukino Yukinoshita was sitting in the clubroom with Yui when she felt her phone vibrate. It was a message from Hiratsuka-Sensei.
"He's coming to the clubroom. Try to get him to open up a little bit."
That would be easier said than done. Hikigaya was not someone who expressed his feelings, Yukino would know because she is just like him.
The door to the clubroom slid open, and Hikigaya Hachiman entered the room…

Authors Note:
I don't have much to say about this chapter, it was a pretty straight forward reintroduction of Hikigaya to his school. I think I made quite a few errors in speech in this, so this is one I will definitely rewrite at some point. Thanks for reading this chapter and thanks for all the nice reviews and comments that you guys write.
See you next chapter-Gabriel
