As soon as Hikigaya Hachiman entered the room, it fell silent. He felt very awkward being there, especially after the hospital visit yesterday.

He gave the two girls a wave and took his seat at the far end of the table. He wanted to disappear into his book before anyone could talk to him, but Yukino wasn't going to let that happen.

"Welcome back… Hikigaya-kun." She said trying to think of something to say that would make him open up.

"...Heh, yeah… it's good to be back." He said, putting on a fake grin.

Yukino didn't have anything to say. Luckily, Yuigahama jumped in on the conversation.

"So Hikki, how was your first day back, did anything eventful happen?"

"You are in my class, so you should know if anything eventful happened."

"Oh...right." Yui said looking down.

Yukino stared at Hachiman. He wasn't acting any different than normal, other than the fact that he was being weirdly evasive. Even though he wasn't very sociable before the accident, he still would partake in their conversations and share his own twisted ideals.

Hikigaya Hachiman was tired. Tired is actually an understatement for what he was feeling. He was having trouble staying awake in school and now, in the club, it was even harder. He must have been feeling the effects of all the sleeping meds that he had taken the night before.

Yukino noticed this, about halfway through the club she looked up from her book and saw Hikigaya's eyes drooping to a closed position. She decided not to wake him and to just let him sleep. She watched him as he slept. He slept with a worried look on his face, as if he was having a bad dream.

He slept until it was school closing time, then Yukino had to wake him up. When she shook him, he jumped up, scaring Yukino. He grasped his chest and winced, while falling to his knees.

"Hikigaya-kun!" Yukino screamed, she quickly rushed to help him up but he stopped her.

"I'm fine… you just surprised me." He said using the table to help himself get up.

He looked out the window and saw the sun setting.

"How long… was I asleep for?" He asked, still breathing hard.

Yukino was still shook from his reaction to her waking him up, but she answered.

"A couple of hours."

"Where's Yui?"

"She left to go home when the meeting ended."

"You could have woken me up-"

That… is not an option Hikigaya-kun, you need your sleep."

Hikigaya looked at the floor, "I get plenty of sleep at my house…" he mumbled.

"Don't lie to me, besides you, I'm the second smartest person in the school. Do you really think I can't spot a bad actor."

Hikigaya stayed silent while Yukino stared at him.

"Why isn't he letting anyone comfort him? Why is he pushing everyone away?"

She was about to confront him with her questions, when he looked up at her. Her eyes widened, he looked like he was about to start crying.

"Hey Yukino… you waited for me to wake up..would you like me to walk you to the gate?"

Yukino immediately blushed and looked away.

"That idiot! He's changing the subject again, and why am I blushing…"

Hikigaya Hachiman was grateful to Yukino for waiting for him and he truly did want to walk her to the gate, but he had mainly said it just to change the subject. Out of everyone Yukino was the one that was suspicious of his act. She kept confronting him with questions that he didn't want to answer.

Yukino thought about his proposal, she could talk to him on their walk to the gate and try to get him to open up.

"Sure, Hikigaya-kun, please walk me to the gate." She said with a smile.

Once they were outside of the school building, Yukino spoke.

"What's on your mind Hikigaya-kun?"

Hikigaya stared up at the night sky for a few moments, then quietly responded.

"My sister…"

Yukino saw the tears on the brims of his eyes, so she decided not to push him to talk to her.

"You know, if you ever need to talk to somebody, me and Yui are available or even Hiratsuka-Sensei. She cares for you a lot."

Hikigaya sighed, "Yeah… I know…"

"If you know... then why don't you talk to us?" asked Yukino trying to get him to open up.

"Because… well... I don't feel the need to."

"You're lying again… I know that you want to speak to someone, are you too nervous?"

Hikigaya looked at her with annoyance.

"You don't know my life…" He said trying not to get worked up.

"But I do Hikigaya-kun… you are just like me you have too many feelings but you just aren't expressing them, you are just keeping them to yourself."

Hikigaya closed his eyes, that last comment did it…

"Don't… for a second... compare me to you!" He said angrily, " You have a perfect life, your family is rich, and you have an excellent relationship with your sister…"

He paused at this last one to breathe.

"Don't pretend you know what I am going through… and don't give me your pity, I don't want it."

He closed his eyes, stood still and took deep breaths.

"Good night, Yukino." He said, quickly walking away from the girl.

Yukino was so caught up thinking about what Hikigaya said that she hadn't noticed that they had already arrived at the gate. She opened her mouth to say something, but failed to find words. She considered following him, he probably wouldn't appreciate that.

"So… that's what he was thinking all this time… I really hope I didn't upset him too much…"

As Hikigaya walked away, he was angry. He wasn't trying to show it in front of Yukino, but he was angry.

"Why do I push the people who care about me away?" He asked himself.

As he was walking, he suddenly heard a familiar voice right next to him.

"Still blaming yourself, huh, Onii-chan?"

Author's Note:

Hello again, sorry for the wait, this chapter took longer than usual to write because of all the things that I wanted to say. I just hope that it didn't come out like a jumbled mess. I am not too great at writing drama. What I wanted was a chapter that had a little more drama incorporated into it. I really hope it had that effect. If I messed up on anything, feel free to send me a message and once again, Thank you for all of the reviews, I love reading them.

See you next chapter-Gabriel
