"And now...for your presentation...we have a very special match about to unfold. A four on four battle." Cra Ne said as the lights shined even brighter. "Let us introduce our opponents. They are warriors who fought and slayed countless monsters and gained many allies during their travels yet not one of them hails from the same plane. They are the Hero's! The Luminary, Eleven! The Dragovian Descendant, Eight! The Zenithian Hero, Solo! And the Legendary Hero, Erdrick!" Cra Ne called out as the four entered the arena with swords in hand.
"We're cheering for you, Eight!" Jessica called.
"Give em a good what for, guv!" Yangus added.
"Give it your best, dear comrade!" Angelo cheered.
"Fight well, Eleven." A young woman with long black hair in a ponytail said.
"Solo! Tsarevna and I will cheer you on!" Kyril called.
"Wow...so many Dragon Quest characters from so many games." Sunset said.
"And all here to see those four fight." Hope said. "Hey, how are the fighters on our side to be decided?"
"You will select four fighters from the eleven teams that are fighting here. They do not all have to be from the same team." Cra Ne said.
"I'll go." Duran said. "Who's with me?"
"Well it can't all be swordsmen in this group." Legolia said. "I'll go to give our team some ranged variation."
"I shall go as well. To provide defense." Geld said.
"And you guys need magic support with some muscle. I'm in." Frosta said.
"Hmm...and just like that...we have a four man team...or should I say party. Taking inspiration from the classic RPG genre, these four unite to fight. The Swordfighter, Duran! The Archer, Legolia! The Shield, Geld! And the Mage, Frosta!" Cra Ne said. "They are...the united RPG Federation!"
"Ooooh, nice name!" Frosta commented.
"And the location for this battle is...Yggdrasil's Altar!" Cra Ne said as the two teams appeared on the large altar as it flew around a massive tree. "Now...let this battle...commence!"
"Don't hold back!" Duran said, readying his sword and shield.
Legolia notched an arrow as Frosta prepared for battle as well, Geld getting his cleaver and shield.
"Haaa!" the four swordsmen cried out as they jumped into the fray.
"Rar!" Geld cried out as he guarded against their strikes before pushing them back.
With the four heroes pushed back, Legolia let her drawn arrow fly, the projectile aimed at Erdrick.
"Sizz!" Erdrick called out as fire incinerated the arrow.
"Ice Saber!" Duran called, enchanting Legolia's bow and arrows with ice magic.
"Thanks, Duran! Now let's see if we can't trick these guys!" Legoia drew out some normal arrows along with a Frost Arrow. Notching these arrows together, she fired them out towards the DQ Heroes.
"Kaclang!" Solo said as he was coated in metal as he guarded against the arrows with his iron coated body.
"Their magic may cause us problems." Geld said.
"Luckily I've got just the thing to drain their magic power." Duran said. "Leaf Saber!" he called, coating Geld's, Legolia's, and his own weapon in green energy. "Now we'll be able to drain their magic bit by bit with each attack. Got the upper hand!" he said, swinging his sword and generating a tornado around Eleven that hit multiple times before finishing with a sword slam that dispersed it. "Spin Slash!"
"Rar!" Geld cried out as he clashed with Solo who was doing his best to block the attacks as Legolia was keeping Erdrick back with her arrows, each one sapping his magic as they got close to him.
"Glad to have things a little more even." Legolia said. "Frosta, how're things on your end?"
"I'm doing great, thanks!" Frosta said, taking on Eight. He was trying to Attack Frosta with fire attacks like Flame Slash and Hatchet man, but Frosta kept dodging.
"Come on, keep the pressure on 'em, Guv!" Yangus cheered.
Eight launched a fireball Frosta's way, but she was able to evade and kick Eight in the face, followed up by a rapid punch assault from some ice fists. "Oh yeah!"
"Keep on the pressure! We almost have them!" Legolia said.
Eight stopped for a moment before he and the other three grouped up and joined their swords together as multiple silhouettes appeared behind them.
"Here it comes, lads. They've been preparing for this moment." Jessica said.
"Whoa...who are these guys behind them?" Frosta asked.
"They must be previous incarnations of the Hero." Geld said.
The four warriors channeled power into their swords and went to swing.
"Giga Slash!" they all cried out and unleashed a powerful slash onto the four.
"Cor Blimey! This'll be bound to knock out at least one of 'em!" Yangus said.
"Healing Light!" Duran called as a green light washed over him and the others.
"Ice Barrier!" Frosta called, conjuring a wall of ice as Geld went in front of them.
The slash struck right up against them, nearly pushing them off the edge as they were drained of a lot of energy just from defending from that single attack.
"Oof… So close." Angelo said.
"But at least their energies are pretty much wiped. They'll have a hard time recovering from something like that." Jessica said.
"Don't quit on me yet!" Duran said, throwing his sword into the air before charging towards the DQ Heroes and unleashing an onslaught of darkness-imbued punches before catching his sword and finishing with a downward slash. "Hellion Assault!"
"Coming through! Pandemic Permafrost!" Frosta said, leaping off Duran's back and fired a bunch of icicles that stuck near the stunned heroes and grew over them, freezing them over. "Legolia!"
"Bombs away! Super Scatter Shot!" Legolia said, shooting a group of bomb arrows into the air as they rained down and blasted all round the heroes, damaging them.
"Chaos Eater!" Geld said, attacking the ground on which the heroes stood, rotting it away as the four soon fell right off of the stage.
"And with a four way tag team...our RPG party has triumphed over the heroes. Meaning that these four are our lucky winners!" Cra Ne said as the audience cheered.
"Our deepest apologies for the way things turned out, but know that you gave it your all out there. We wouldn't expect anything less from you." Jessica said.
"It was still really good to see you again, Guv." Yangus said.
"Is shame you fall so far." Alena spoke to Solo. "You do better next time, ya?"
"Tsarevna is correct. You fought well, though. Almost had the opposing party. Next time, er… won't be the same. That is how it's said, yes?"
"Yeah." Frosta said. "Hey, we made a pretty good team for a party that was thrown together." she said to Duran, Geld and Legolia.
"I agree." Legolia responded. "Even if I'm used to adventuring with the Fatebreakers, it's nice to have a party with other adventurers every so often. Nothing brings strangers together as friends better than forming a party and adventuring."
"Yeah, that was really great teamwork we pulled off." Duran added. "You were the biggest help most of all, Geld." he said.
"Thank you." Geld said.
"Who knows...we may see even more combinations like this as we get further in." Frosta said.
