Warning: This chapter deals with depression and suicide, if that makes you uncomfortable I would suggest skipping it.

Dear Yuigahama and Yukinoshita,

You guys have been my closest and only friends, so I feel like you deserve to hear everything. Starting at the beginning, when I was only 7 years old, I lost my parents. I was torn up and depressed but I had to press on so that I could provide for my sister. My sister was everything to me, all the happiest moments of my life were from raising her and teaching her new things. She was my only family, and for a while, my only friend. So to lose all that was more painful than I could have imagined. I tried to hide my feelings like I have always done, but it wouldn't work, I kept breaking down. Before I joined the Service Club, I hated the world, but you guys helped me learn that there can be genuine things in my life, and I thank you for that. I believe that after that moment in the club, after I said I wanted the genuine thing, I gained an appreciation for life. I thought that finding the "genuine thing" would be hard, but it was right in front of my face the whole time. My genuine thing was my sister, the one who had been with me throughout my life, I just had been too blind to see it. Once I got all these feelings I really wanted to share them, but I never did. My sister died without knowing my true feelings towards her. I lost the one genuine thing in my life, and that is the main reason for my actions today. You both were the best friends that a loner like me could have asked for, and I'm sure that both of you will forgive me for this someday.

-Hachiman

His letter was stuck in Yukino Yukinoshita's mind as she ran with Yui Yuigahama to find Hachiman.

"Why did he try to battle his depression alone?"

"Why did he not feel comfortable sharing all this with us?"

And her worst thought of all…

"What will happen if we don't find him?"

Meanwhile, Hikigaya Hachiman was on the roof of the school building, sitting on the ledge.

"I always wondered what it would be like to fall off of here, I just never thought that I would get to experience it myself..."

He thought back on his life and all of his best moments.

"Raising Komachi…"

"Getting forced into the Service Club…"

"Finally making friends…"

"Finding his genuine thing…"

Thinking back on his life caused a smile to grow on his face and tears to fall from his eyes.

"I had a pretty good life… I'm happy that I got to live it."

"Hiratsuka-Sensei! Is Hikigaya-kun here?" asked Yukino, who was panicking.

Hiratsuka-Sensei was shocked to find the two girls sprinting into her office.

"No, I haven't seen him, is there a problem?"

Yukino just dropped Hikigaya's note on her desk and ran back out to keep looking.

Hiratsuka-Sensei's eyes widened as she saw the note, she looked at Yui who was still in her office crying and asked for the full story.

After she heard it, she sprinted out of her office in hopes of finding Hachiman before it was too late.

Yukino knew Hikigaya was still at the school because no one had seen him leave, but she couldn't find him. Out of breath, she sat down on a bench and thought.

"If he really is trying to harm himself... where would he go?"

Her eyes then widened as she found her answer…

"The roof!"

Hikigaya Hachiman just sat, shaking, on the ledge for a while, too scared to fall off.

"Why am I scared…"

"Why am I second guessing this…"

"Is this the right thing to do?"

He then cleared his mind, he was sure this was what had to happen.

...He then closed his eyes…

...looked up at the sky…

...and fell…

Author's Note:

I don't really have much to say about this chapter, other than it was pretty choppy with all of the scene changes. I probably made a lot of mistakes, so it will probably end up getting a rewrite. Thanks for reading the chapter, and if you spot any mistakes, be sure to tell me. Also, nice job Kevinhs11, your prediction was partially right.

See you next chapter-Gabriel
