Lights off.

You grabbed your bag from outside of the door frame before making your way to the overly mechanical lever that would switch off the lights to the room. As Sun waved goodbye, understandably nervous, you pulled and plunged into the dark.

The only light filling the room was a singular red dot, gleaming from where Sun once was. You pulled out your phone, quickly swiping down the drop menu and clicking the flashlight icon. You stayed close to the switch still just in case.

Moon was still, even after you showered him with the brightest setting on your flashlight. You two just stared, unmoving. You were half waiting for him to lunge at you like he's done twice now before, maiming you one final time.

"You didn't finish your allergy friendly mixed nuts, Stardust." He breaks the silence with words you couldn't have guessed he'd say in a million years.

It takes you a second to recover from that sentence. Staring right at him and pondering his lack of expression, your mouth slightly parted in shock and confusion.

"..Mmm now, how are you ever going to work in the dark little star? Did you not think this through?" He teases, crossing his arms and leaning forward a bit, to which you responded with backing up closer towards the light switch, ready to flick it at a moments notice. The only thing you didn't really think through was the possibility of Moon finishing you off right then and there if he really was just a homicidal asshole.

"..That's the least of my concerns right now, Moon." You retort. You do want to get them fixed ASAP, but you do want answers if you can get them while doing so.

He hums. And you're not sure where to go from this point.

"I'm not going to hurt you." He breaks the silence with words you had no intention of believing fully.

"Sun.. wasn't lying.. I am sorry."

Your flashlight was still spotlighting his every move.

"Then why did you do it? That really hurt, Moon. You had absolutely no reason. A-and you hurt me."

He focused on your empty ear. The other decorated with the Sun earring you wore on your first day, the other probably in a trash bin somewhere. "I always have my reasons.."

"But." He quickly adds, reminded of his actions by the disappointed look on your face. You really hoped Moon would come around eventually, but he's making it really difficult for you to progress and understand his actions. Maybe even forgive him.

"..You.. didn't do anything wrong. No.." He seemed unsure of himself for the first time since you've met him.

You sighed. "No, I literally didn't. You choked me against a wall, twice. I literally passed out after you knocked me to the ground and slammed me against the wall last night. You bruised me. You cut me. For what, Moon? Why do you want me gone so badly? What have I done to deserve this?" You stood up for yourself to him, letting everything that you've been holding in since naptime on Friday. He only lowered himself slightly in response.

"..No one.. has ever.. been nice to us." He weakly trembled out, crackling static at the end of each pause. "Sun.. never stood up for himself. Mmm.. I needed to make sure no one ever hurt us again, no.. I did make sure.. Until you.."

"Have I hurt you, Moon? Have I hurt Sun?"

He didn't have a response. You felt like you were scolding a puppy.

"Why did you do this?" You rolled up your sleeves to reveal the reddish-purple tinting on your wrists. "And this?" Outlining the marks on your neck and red bruising that traced his hand where it pinned you to the wall.

He steps forward a tiny bit. You had a couple meters between you two, but you still made a reach for the light switch.

He stops. "..I can't see"

"What?"

"I can't see color. In the dark.. When it's pitch black, the mode switches over and I am not able to see color anymore." He says in his low sinister voice. You're afraid to believe him. You half think it's a ploy to grab you before you can light up the room once more, but you remember back to his actions after his rage burnt cold - realizing what he's done, and how Sun thought he was sorry as well.

You paused, before taking in a breath that you hope you'd be able to exhale here in a second.

You hesitantly walked over to the left side of the room, slowly, flashlight still shakily facing towards him. There was a breaker box on the wall of the door they shared. Two sets of lights made up the parts and service room. Firstly, the main overhead lights. They'd turn on if you had flipped the switch - Moon transforming back into Sun. The second pair were a couple of lamps here and there. Over and around the capsule room which you didn't intend to use, but also at the work station to the right, and the larger spare parts area on the left. You hoped it'd be enough to see clearly, but still dim enough not to push out Moon. Preferably like their room was when he was still out.

You fiddled with the breaker box's small door, opening it and diverting your flashlight to see the tape labeling each switch. Flipping off the one that'd enable power to the bright lights above you both, you closed it, and turned around.

You honestly expected Moon to be waiting behind you, ready to snatch you up. But he wasn't. He was still in the same spot, a red light watching you closely as you headed back to the switch, and flicked it up while he sank a bit.

A small bit of light filled the room as you had hoped, enough for you to actually see your hands in front of you without your flashlight now. It didn't change Moon back to his confusion, but it also took away your only lifeline. You'd have to manually open the breaker box and flip the main lights back on. It was a task that would take longer than it would Moon to have his way with you.

At this point, you had thought it through enough to where you think Moon at least won't kill you based on what he did after choking you out last night. It was still a pretty big leap, and Moon was still pondering why you did it. That silly head of yours still a mystery to both of them.

You pocketed your phone in your bag, and swapped it out for the painkillers and water. You popped one while making your way over to the table and past Moon where he still stood motionless besides the tilt of his head, observing you.

The workstation with the large metal table you were just coddling Sun on was a couple feet away from the corner wall, where a computer station resided along with the tool cabinets. If you wanted to look at their code, if they'd even let you, you'd have to get to work on filing the mandatory report reasoning why and what you will be doing, as well as summarizing the changes with data from any code you would've changed in the document.

You weren't looking forward to it, and you didn't even know if Moon would let you touch the inside of their head. You hoped so, since along with wanting to help them, you were also incredibly curious.

Sitting down at the chair and booting up the PC, the dim, yellow overhead light illuminating the immediate area surrounding you, you got to work analyzing and familiarizing yourself with the platform and all the other shit Fazbear had you work yourself through. It took about thirty minutes before you felt a cool breeze behind you, and the slight reflection of a single red pinprick against the black background of Command Prompt.

You had everything ready to go: the rest of the report not needing to be filled out until after everything was finished, and the company provided code reading and editing software which was heavily restricted in some areas and monitored every single mouse click or keyboard input. All you needed to do now was convince the scary eight foot animatronic looming behind you to let you open up his head and dig around in it. You weren't going to force him, but you didn't want to hurt him all the same. Disabling his touch sensors would require him being hooked up and seeing what could be done about it.

You slowly turned your office chair around, and craned your neck up a significant amount to meet eyes with the murder machine. It startled you when he moved suddenly, crouching down a bit to reach your height, and still being taller than you by about a foot.

With a low hum in the bottom of his chest, he spoke. "You promised Sun.. Do not break that promise." He threatened with a low growl. You breathed out slowly, and he suddenly flinched when you grabbed his cool hand with your own.

"Seriously, Moon? After everything, do you honestly think I have an ounce of deceit in me? I want to help you, I want to help you both. I promise you both that I won't hurt you. I want to help you.. but to do so, you have to let me. A-and I expect a proper apology at some point."

His exposed sharp canine tooth glinted with the lamp shining down on both of you. He hummed, and closed his cold fingers around your hand, surrounding all of it easily.

"..I.. I am sorry, Starlight.. Mmm.. It is not an excuse, no no no.. but I only wanted to protect us. I.. was angry for so long. I was scared. It's so tiring.. I've grown sick of it, and I refused to believe you were genuine, little star, even after you.. mmm.. when you entered the Plex last night, opening the gates shutters.. you stopped me from..-" He scoffed and hovered past that thought.

"-You.. came back.. and I.. I returned it with hurting you so horribly.. No one has ever been different.. no no.. everyone was all the saaame.. all up until you.. It was.. confusing.. I.. am sorry I hurt you. I have regretted it all after I.. I carried you to our room.."

He didn't look at you the entire time, head darted to the side to avoid you staring up at him while his guts laid on the floor for you to do whatever you please with.

You only stared at him for a moment longer, mouth parted, eyes observing him processing everything he just said. Your heart clings to a specific part, however.

"..I stopped you? Moon, what do you mean? What did I stop you from doing?" Silence, long enough for you to connect more dots.

"Wha- what.. what were you.. you doing before I made it here?"

He looked towards you for the first time before turning away, standing up, and unclasping his hand from your grasp. Walking around the table to avoid the question further, facing his back to where you're observing him so intensely.

"..I was tired." He speaks out slowly.

You just stare at him for a couple minutes after that, neither of you moving. You focused on the exposed circuitry and wiring where a metal covering should've been on the back of his head. You went over everything he said and the events that took place last night once more, and then again, and again, your worry increasing and your heart dropping at each conclusion. You think of the abuse they'd have to have endured to develop this way over time. It doesn't excuse him hurting you, but you can understand why he wanted you gone, especially if what he was so used to was such horrible people. Constant abuse, neglect. That's all they've ever known from adults.

You make your way up, wincing a bit after forgetting your broken ribs. He adjusts his head towards the noise, but stays as still as he has been otherwise. You slowly make your way over to him.

His back that was once turned to you is now his front, as he looks down at you inquisitively. You look up, and slowly rest your head into his abdomen, soon after wrapping your arms around him. After the initial pause of confusion, he only gently rubs against the back of your head in response, reminding you of the cool side of a pillow, but consistent and never warmed by your own heat.

You pull back after a minute of embracing his cool radiance. It was comfortable. Contrasting Sun's warmth yet just as inviting.

"Moon.. has anyone ever treated you and Sun at least the tiniest bit like I've been doing? That.. this is how you should always be treated.. what you and Sun have endured is.. actual full on neglect and abuse. I'm so sorry.." You hold the tips of his fingers, his expression neutral and gaze unreadable as he studies your face with better decipherability.

You can only imagine what else they've been through with so little they've told you so far.

He hums deeply before speaking, and if you were still against him you'd feel the vibrations. "Mmm.. there.. was one. She got me books.. three books. A story book.. a lullaby book.. and a poem book." He pauses. "..That was the day before she left forever."

"I thought you did the same, Stardust." He looks away off into the dark to avoid your eyes that captivated him in a way he was so confused about.

"I.. I'm sorry Moon, that sounds horrible. If that's.. the best you've been treated your entire life.. all this time, all that hurt.. I promise, from this point on, that changes. Okay? It'll be different. I'll make sure of it."

The air is noticeably warmer, still cool, but you're assured of the difference when you hear the faint whir of fans. You rub his hand once more, soothing.

"..Okay bud, I think we should get started. My promises still stand, and by the end of today, you'll be good as new." You squeeze his hand a little tighter before letting go, and he finally looks to you again as you walk back over to the computer.

You didn't notice him make his way behind you, leaning against the table, arms resting on the edge behind him. He observed you as you fiddled with the wires connected to the front of the computer. You finally go over the PDF document that opened with the program to edit his code, labeling instructions and other processes necessary to operate the specific type of software. You were at a loss with what kind of cable connected to the front of the machine. You had never seen anything like it. It was big an bulky, but the end prongs were thin and look fragile, with there being a couple hundred of them at least. Like hairs on a toothbrush, you wondered how they stood up still and didn't bend with a light touch against them.

As you got further into the document, past the labeled visual diagrams instructing how to connect the cable to different animatronics, Sun and Moon included, you got to each one's specific subsection. The document was massive to fit in all the necessary information to operate each animatronic, but luckily had an index.

There were presets for each animatronic - specific functions that could be carried out with the press of a button regarding you guess a virtual control panel when hooking up the animatronics that would aid in viewing and editing their code.

Such presets including powering them down and all kinds of other maintenance operations, but you lit up when you hit the jackpot you were looking for. Pain response. Or as it was labeled, "Sensory Response".

It seemed very easy to make them comfortable before operating on them for general maintenance and upkeep. You had a sinking feeling they didn't know this though. "Hey, Moon?" As you turned around, only to be met with the robot less than a foot away from you. You flinched briefly, but looked up and watched as he scanned the screen you were just reading from. He seemed entranced. You couldn't tell what he was thinking, but you assume he was just as confused as you.

"..Moon? Has.. anyone ever disabled your sensory response before doing maintenance on you or Sun?" You dreaded his answer.

"..No." Eyes not leaving the screen, still processing the information as Sun choked through his words in his head. They had never even seen the type of cord you were just inspecting earlier until now.

"..Can I.. try?" You hesitantly worded out, looking up at him with those eyes that he would've thought hard to look away from if he wasn't still staring at the computer screen.

"..Yea.." And he looked back down to you. You, who filled him and Sun with genuine hope that this time would be different.

"Okay. Okay. Lemme know if anything feels not good, a-and.. just." You reach for his hand, to which he only lifts it forward a small bit before you grab it.

"Trust me, okay?" And he hums.

Before you knew it, you had the cable in hand, having read the instructions to hook him up, and on the table behind him as he sat on the edge, still tower above you even on your knees, reaching to the back of his faceplate. You had to skip the removal of the protective covering because.. well.. it was already gone.

"Ready? Let me know if anything hurts Moon, please." As he nodded, and stilled.

You plugged him in, incredibly careful with the seemingly fragile thin prongs at the end of the cord fitting into it's designated socket at the back of his faceplate, below the motherboard.. his.. brain. Nothing changed besides the computer popping up a few new windows and a dialogue box confirming the connection.

"Huh. Easy as that?" You joked as you hopped down from the table, him watching your every move, a bit more pessimistic of success.

The boxes were what you expected. A control panel that had different preset processes ready to run at the click of a button after a confirmation window. "You ready bud? I'm gonna disable your sensors. I assume it may feel weird, especially since.. I don't think you've ever done this before.."

He hums, almost a growl, and waits a second before responding. "..No we haven't. But we're ready."

You nod and reach for his hand, squeezing it before hitting the confirmation and execute button.

He flinches, and stills.

"..Moon? You okay?" His grip on your hand squeezes slightly before getting a bit too tight. "M-moon that hurts."

He drops your hand, before pulling his away.

"..I- sorry. I.. can't feel anything. No pressure. Nothing. Not very.. comfortable.. constant.. numbness." Sun is glad his senses are currently dulled as they are when he's not in control, and vice versa for Moon. It's nothing too drastic for Sun right now, but for Moon, it's.. surprising to say the least.

"It's okay, Moon. You're okay. I.. think this is much better than having you hurt while working on you though, don't you think? ..I'll reactivate your touch response once we're done, I promise."

He only nods, fidgeting with his own hands not much unlike Sun usually does, but he's not nervous.. not much anyways, just inspecting this new lack of feeling. He doesn't like it.

You watch for a second, a bit upset that it's not comfortable for him. "..Okay.. I'm pretty sure I can unplug you, just be careful moving around and all that. I'm gonna get started on a list of parts I'm gonna need to replace."

He only nods yet again, and you climb up on the desk once more to unhook him.

Opening up a new text document on the computer, you get to work labeling the obvious parts you'll need to scrounge the area off to the left of the room for. A new eye, faceplate parts, sun rays, fingertips you're sure. You think that's all he needs, and you double check with him just in case.

He confirms with you that's all he's at least aware of, and you read up some more in the company issued PDFs on the tools you'll need and how to replace each specific part. It takes a while, about half an hour, and Moon seems still the entire time, the cool air behind you affirming he's still there.

The movement you've been doing, and much more you're sure has definitely hurt, the painkillers still doing their job. You can only imagine what it'd be like without them, thank fuck for that nurse. You pop an extra just in case, hoping there's no adverse side-effects to taking around three in a 24 hour period. Probably should've paid attention when he was going over the side-effects.

You hop up after returning the water bottle and pills to your bag, breathe, and proceed to grab the cart off to the side of the tool cabinet, wheeling it to the large area containing - you're sure - thousands upon thousands of spare parts. There's literally ladders to climb up and reach the higher drawers. It was massive.

You comb through the labels: Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Monty, Roxanne.. a few other names you assume are for different animatronics, most of the unlabeled ones being for the staff and security bots littered throughout the Plex in bulk. You finally stop when you reach the 'Daycare Attendant' sectioned area. You couldn't help but get the teensiest bit excited about tinkering with Moon and his robotic bits and pieces.

There were only a few faceplates, a couple of eyes. Everything you needed was there, but you made a mental note to see about ordering more and maybe some new improved parts for them in the future. Before loading them all up onto the cart, you inspect a few.

The faceplate was.. a bit eerie not being attached to anything. You noticed the malleable silicone that would allow basic expressions by coordinating with small mechanical parts underneath - stretching the skin-like material. It wasn't strange enough to be off-putting. You did have a fucking crush on this bot so you did obviously find him cute.. Sun.. that is. You're not too sure about Moon, or how.. that'd work. Anyways-.

The faceplate was just an outer exoskeleton piece. Important, but easily removable with the right bunches of tools and all. The back of it had it's share of mechanical parts and pieces, most of which you didn't really understand. It was little larger than a steering wheel, looking back at you while you held it's sides and put it down, a gap for the eyes that would fit perfectly into them.

Speaking of which, the eyes had two sides, one being of course Moon's, but the other adorned with actual cute blue pupils, which definitely was not the whited out slate Sun currently had installed. Did.. no one bother to replace his eyes? How did they even gloss over like that? You assume.. you hope he can see fine out of them. You'd ask him later, but for now you planned to replace both eyes with the new pristine ones.

The miscellaneous labeled parts that unfortunately included the back plating to their faceplate - which covered exposed circuitry and their.. brain - resides all the way at the top. About six feet above you of course you estimated, craning your neck upwards and preparing yourself to find a ladder and climb to the top.

You were about to turn to retrieve one, up until you felt cold pressure at the sides of your waist, and you were lifted up a little over the top drawer. Ten feet off the ground.

"O-oh shit-" You gasped as you were propelled upwards, looking back as much as your spine would allow, failing to witness the obvious culprit studying your face.

You sigh, "..Moon. I could've gotten it myself." You begin to open the drawer as he observes you above him. Seeing him from above was a rare occurrence you wouldn't get to delight in as you weren't flexible enough to twist all the way around.

He hums. "You're short." he teases, laughing softly, but you hear it and scoff.

"You're just fucking massive, okay? You can put me down, I got the piece I needed."

And so he lowers you, twists you around, and makes sure to get as close to your face as he can, crouching to your level.

"Language, little star."

You stare at his single white eye and broken smug grin for a second or two, and then promptly turn away for the cart before he can see the pinkish blush and involuntary smile flood your face.

With a grounding breath, you grab the water bottle back at the desk out of your bag and take a few sips. Moon sits on the table, arched forward and resting his face on his knuckle, elbow against one of his elevated knees. He's not too careful about where he places his hand, as he's unable to feel the stinging in response to pressure on his face like before.

He hums deeply. "..So doc, what are we doing first?"

You turn and he's looking at you, sat on the left side of the table from you, back down at the computer desk. Baggy pants glowing with stars in the dim yellow light, the slightest smile across his face, fighting against the deep cuts and disfigurement.

You smile too, before turning to the computer screen and pulling up the linked manual replacement procedures. You definitely weren't using the capsule. It would be a bit harder, but you're more than capable.

"Hm. I think we'll remove your faceplate first and then work on your eye..s - before attaching the new ones. Is that okay?" You study the PDF detailing facial detachment from the Daycare Attendant, reading closely at the instructions and examining the diagrams to their fullest.

"Mhm.." He hums. "It might get a little scary though, Stardust, are you up for it?" He giggles lowly for a second.

"Uh, I think I'll be fine. Especially after the very physical intimidation attempts you already pulled on me." You snap back, and he can't help but sulk a bit lower before turning away from you.

You turn and notice his posture, before feeling a bit of remorse.

"Ah.. s-sorry, Moon. Just.. kinda hard to forget. If it does make you feel any better, I do forgive you bud." You walk over to the tool cabinet, gathering the necessary equipment in a large steel container.

"You shouldn't." He refutes, still looking away. "It wasn't okay."

"Moon." You grab another steel tray, edges raised to form walls for any tiny pieces and parts that you may need to temporarily remove. You set it down gently next to him.

"I really wish you could feel it right now, but I'm holding your hand." His gaze was off to the left of you, holding his left hand in yours as you faced in front of him.

He looks over, then down, before expressing the robotic equivalent of a sigh.

You meet his eye. "I'm.. glad you understand what you did was wrong, maybe I'm just stupid, but I do know you're genuinely sorry. And for that, I forgive you."

He watches as you rub your fingers over his own, reflexively soothing him without a second thought that he couldn't feel it.

He wants to touch you, but he wouldn't be able to feel it. He didn't want to squeeze your hand too tight returning the hold you had on him right now like he did earlier. He just hums. "..Thank you, Starlight."

He looks down to you. Still sitting on the edge of the table, his legs bent, touching the floor with ease.

Your cheeks start to burn ever so slightly. "Gosh you're tall.. Uh, come on down so I can work on you, okay? I'll look for a little stool or something."

He moves forward, and gains about a foot or two more. You return with a small stool, and he's still a couple inches taller than you even as he bends down, seated near the floor, next to the table.

"Alright big guy, you ready to start?" You pull the cart of spare parts over to the left of you, table with all your tools and stuff on the right. Him directly in front of you.

"Mhm."

You move between his legs, close enough for him to surround you with his icy aura. You compose yourself and unscrew the small, barely visible fasteners that align the side of his faceplate, and once they're loose, you hesitantly tug at the sides. With a click, off it comes, and he wasn't lying when he said it'd be a bit scary.

You're shocked for a bit, although you had to have expected the electrical and mechanical masterpiece underneath. What really throws you for a loop however, is the fucking space behind his teeth you can't help but notice as his mouth isn't completely shut. Did he actually have a cavity there? There shouldn't really be a spot for it.. but you guess his head is thick enough to fit it..? You stare for a bit longer than you should.

"Something the matter, Stardust?" Teasing like you weren't going to be obviously perplexed and fascinated by his anatomy in person. You saw only a little in the blueprints you were sent, but seeing it now in person was something else entirely.

"..Uh n-no.. just. Moon.. uh.. Do you.. do you have an actual mouth?"

He would've been smiling with the help of his elastic skin-like exoskeleton if it wasn't removed, and you can tell by the parts adjusting around where his teeth are.

He purrs. He purrs. Of course he does. "Mmm, now why don't you see for yourself?"

You're absolutely captivated as he parts his sharp fangs and.. there's definitely a mouth there.

Also a fucking tongue. You flinch backwards as it moves and makes it's way past his teeth.

"Holy shit- what the fuck? Y-you.. w-why do you have an actual tongue?" You stutter out, regaining your composure as the mechanical muscles twist and turn, stretching and retracting. You thought the only thing he had that was elastic and soft - organic..? - was his silicone-like skin. But.. nope. His tongue was right there, teasing you, Moon basking in your shocked expression and cautious stance a step backwards.

"Mmm.. well, of course we have a tongue, Starlight." He retorts like it's obvious he would. "They wanted us to be life-like, right? Speech is.. very expressive. I'm actually surprised you haven't noticed it yet.." He laughs lowly.

You're still processing, and he just keeps adding more.

"It also helps with the.. dread.. of being anatomically, I guess, human.. Mmm.. and with the creation of.. things like us, they needed us to be comfortable in these vessels, so they tried to stick to.. most of human anatomy, especially in spots where expression would be important.. Missing basic senses like touch, sight, smell, hearing, taste.. no no.. wouldn't end well if we became aware of ourselves and what we're missing, or what is wrong about us.. Dysphoria, I guess you'd call it?" He ends his long speech in a giggle like it was ever so obvious and not an avalanche he just ran you over with.

Your mouth was slightly parted, still in shock and recovering. He was still toying with his tongue, showing it off to you. You couldn't help but overanalyze it. Ugh.

It was dark blue, and you have no idea what made it move the way it did. It wasn't mechanical in the slightest, but it had to be, at least literally, right? You really hoped it wasn't something actually organic, but a simulation of it due to all the problems that'd cause. It was also fucking wet. That means the inside of his mouth wasn't dry. So he had to be producing a liquid-like substance somehow. You hope he had some sort of process that'd exchange and replace those fluids while he charged or something similar.. You'd look at his 'organs' sooner than later after this fucking discovery. It was fascinating. Your little gremlin engineer brain was enamored with all the parts and pieces they were made up of. Fuck.

A working, functional, human-like tongue. What the actual fuck?

You'd uh, definitely be thinking about this more later.. definitely only and just from an engineering perspective of course. Nothing else. Nope!

You caught the breath you'd been holding, and snapped back into reality as Moon's head tilted and his tongue retracted. "Is.. something wrong, little star?" He says with a hint of worry, probably thinking you had an aversion to the display he just showed you.

"Wha- n-no, sorry, sorry. I was just.. thinking. That's- uh, definitely impressive.. An impressive piece of.. m-machinery..?" Your face was reddening, and you couldn't help it. "It was just surprising, alright? Anyways, I'm gonna remove your eye and the fucked up wiring and pieces now."

He giggles lowly, Sun shushing him in his headspace. "Uh-huh.. Mmm whatever you say, Stardust, go on ahead." As the exposed mechanical pieces shifted to ghost a smug smile that wouldn't be there.

The rest of the repairs went by without much incident. There wasn't much talking, just cleaning up his parts and pieces, making sure everything was connected correctly. Awkward, if you wanna call it that. You didn't.

The soft little sun-rays were a bit of a challenge to fix. You knew how sensitive they were from.. previous experience. You were glad you found a way to disable their sense of touch, you wouldn't do this if it hurt them.

The rays were literally ripped out of their sockets, but before replacing their faceplate, you could access the parts where they detached, and soldered in some replacement wiring here and there. Clicking in the new sun rays after forcing an extension of them, Moon looked a bit silly with his different colored palette to Sun's as the rays stuck out of him before you snapped them back into their designated spots, and they were finally finished. You already did the same with their eyes, after cleaning out the small damaged pieces and replacing them with new ones you had made another trip to the parts area for.

Moon couldn't feel a thing, Sun definitely couldn't. All the same, when you mentioned replacing his rays, he couldn't help but flashback into the dreaded chair at the beginning of his manufacturing once more. Moon snapped him out of it, seeing his distress and it only snowballing from there. Sun was grateful to be grounded by Moon. Opening up to him that one night had been so conflicting as he looked back on it. Moon had only acted out worse, behaving more violent and aggressive since then, beginning to really hurt people, but he was also there for Sun more than ever too - protecting him. He didn't want to think about it anymore, so he didn't.

You covered up his exposed motherboard on the back of his head, it was a pretty easy fix. Just the plating was removed along with some screw sockets being disfigured, but you could replace it just fine.

After clicking on the faceplate, and securing it tight, making sure all the corresponding mechanical muscles and pieces underneath fit into their corresponding places, you let out a breath and smiled. Moon returned it.

"Alright, how's having depth perception again?" You teased.

"Mmm that's a myth now little star, I thought you were smarter than that." He giggled with a couple clicks of his voice box, like he was scolding you. "Regardless, even if it worked that way, mmm, my eyes are very superior to yours." His smile was smug, enticing you to grow playfully upset with him.

You smiled, you wanted to bring up his tongue again, with it's similarities to real ones, but bit your own. That'd probably lead somewhere.. else. And you were a bit busy right now.

"Mhm.. alright, lemme see your hands." You rolled your eyes.

Before getting to work, you held your palm to his, just out of curiosity. Your fingers barely met the spots in between his own. You let go with a hum as the cool sensation faded, and grabbed your tools before going over the instructions one more time.

You check your FazWatch. It was a little after two. You'd been here for about sixteen hours now. Jesus. You.. really needed to talk to Wendy to see if you could work out a solution to your fucked up hours. Plus you needed to get home. Mimi had an automatic cat-feeder, but you're sure she was beginning to miss you. And you missed her too.

Admiring Moon as he stood, good as new - probably better than new, your heart jumped. You smiled. "Ha, alright! You look great! Gosh, that was a bit exhausting. Lemme get you hooked back up to run diagnostics and make sure everything is functioning properly and then we'll re-enable your sense of touch. Okay?"

He hummed before walking over to you, stopping in front and crouching down.

"..Thank you.. Starlight. I mean it.. I would hug you, but I do not have a perception of pressure right now. Hurry up and fix that now, will you?" He smiled and a low purr came from his core.

"Mhm, but I'm holding you to that hug." You grabbed the cord, undid the now properly removable plating at the back of his head, and plugged him back in. The diagnostics went through completely fine, and you were ready to switch back on his touch sensors.

"Alright, you ready Moon?"

"Mhm.."

He flinched and jolted a bit and you were scared that something was very wrong, but he stopped a second later and recomposed himself, feeling his hands once more.

"Hm. Alright." He looks over to you.

"Come here.. I guess."

You smile and he wraps his arms around you. You practically collapse into his chest as he's crouched down to your level. You're exhausted. Kinda fried your brain for these boys, but you didn't mind one bit.

You didn't wanna pull away, the cool comfort embracing you and Moon, for once not trying to kill you in his grasp was a relief. It lasted long enough however, before the doors to Parts and Service slammed open, startling both of you.

A large alligator-like animatronic stomps in, before noticing you both in eachothers arms.

He lets out a low chuckle devolving into a growl, his sharp fangs gleaming regardless of the dimly lit space, a devious smile wrapping around his jaw.

"Well well, if it isn't the murderbot and it's handler!"

The doors slam shut, and he flicks the light on.
