"Okay…for the next fight. We have a nice fight to…" Aura began before seeing a tall and lanky looking Link standing next to her. "Uh…can I help you?"
"Yes. Uh…it is I…Link…here to fight in the smash." he said.
"Hmm…something doesn't seem right. I learned about all the worlds while preparing to comment on Lord Ainz's match. Which Link are you from which game?" Aura asked.
"Uh…A Link to the…Wild?" he said before the green cap fell off showing a purple hat with an upside down L.
"Oh for gods sakes, Waluigi… Are you really that desperate?" Nesma asked.
"Ah, what's wrong with Waluigi?" he cried as Aura was dragging him to the stands and to the arena's edge. "Why doesn't anyone love me?"
"It's okay…it's 'cause you suck." Aura said before tossing him right over the edge.
Waluigi screamed before landing in a dumpster where he saw a bandicoot and a guy in armor.
"Don't worry, pal. We'll get in one of these days." the guy in armor said.
Aura then returned to the arena. "Sorry about that. Now…before we were interrupted…he is a warrior from a ruined kingdom. With sword and bow in hand, he comes ready to carve out the competition and cement his place in history as Hyrule's champion. He is the Champion of Hyrule! Link!" Aura said as Link came riding in on Epona.
"There he is! Go get em, little guy!" Daruk cheered.
"Do your best Link…" Mipha said.
"Hmm… It certainly has been a while since we last saw him. Quite frankly, we owe a lot to him now." Revali said.
"And us, considering we helped him free you guys and stopped Ganon." Zephyr said.
"Yes, your group back then just so happened to coincidentally fall from the sky and assist the great hero. Like I said, don't preen yourselves for doing your jobs." Revali mentioned.
"But then after meeting Reformed Society, we came back and changed all of your fates." Zacian said. "It was a wild ride, but… I'm glad we managed to pull it off and give you your lives back."
"Yes…but now…I'm going to put an arrow between his eyes." Revali said as he took off.
"And now…the challenger! A proud warrior from the gifted Rito race. He soars high in the sky and never fails to miss his target with his bow and arrow! He is the Champion of the Rito! Revali!" Aura said.
"Hello there, Link. It certainly has been quite a while, hasn't it?" Revali asked. "I bet you're surprised to see the lot of us here, but well… That's what resurrection tends to do to you, I suppose."
"I am surprised. And I guess I have a lot of questions to ask. But for right now, I know the reason why you came to be my opponent." Link said. "We didn't really have a chance to fight one on one 100 years ago."
"Quite right. And besides, this is a good opportunity to see how far we have both come since we last met." Revali said.
"I couldn't agree more." Link said, drawing the Master Sword while Revali readied the Great Eagle Bow.
"It's a battle between champions! And what better stage to do it on, than the Great Plateau Tower!" Aura said as the two champions were transported to a sheikah tower on the Great Plateau overlooking all of hyrule. "Alright, let the match begin!"
Link drew his sword as he clashed with Revali's bow before the Rito quickly took to the air.
"Impressive." Revali said before shooting Shock Arrows at Link. "Shame you cannot fly." Revali said as he fired off a volley of arrows with some of them hitting Link.
"It's true I can't. But I think you forgot you passed on your own technique to me." Link said. "Revali's Gale!" he called, blasting up into the air and shooting down Bomb Arrows from higher up.
"Ah, you have mastered my own technique. Very impressive. Now it's getting fun." Revali said.
"It is. Now we can finally settle our differences!" Link said as he and Revali clashed in the sky.
"Wow, they're really going at it." Frosta said. "I guess they really are fated rivals."
"It's more of a one-sided rivalry in Revali's case." Mari said.
"Yes. But when the chips are down, Revali can show that his skill is nothing to scoff about." David said. "You see, unlike the other Champions…Revali didn't have a royal status to fall back on."
Revali continued to attack Link with a number of arrows while Link attacked with arrows of his own before he got serious. "All right…let us see if you can handle one of this magnitude." Link said, taking out an Ancient Arrow.
"An Ancient Arrow? Hmm… This could be a problem." Revali said.
"It's time to show you how I could easily destroy the guardians." Link said, notching the arrow before releasing it, the arrow moving at Revali at an incredible speed.
The arrow flew past Revali, grazing his cheek. The arrow then exploded, sending Revali upward.
"Not bad. Not bad at all. I am impressed." Revali said. "It's pretty clear that my old tricks aren't going to work on you. So, I took a page from Vera's book and worked on a new technique." he said as he notched an arrow as a glyph appears under Link. "May my arrows shine with light…Astral Rain!" he said as he fired an arrow in the air before multiple rays of light rained down on Link before a pillar of light fell on him. Link raised his shield to guard against it, but the action proved to be rather useless as he took massive damage from the attack before being sent down into the ground.
"And that attack has put an end to this really short fight. Meaning the winner here is Revali!" Aura said.
"Ha… ha…" Revali let out a bit of a laugh at this. "You really did get stronger. Now I know why you were the one chosen by the Master Sword. After seeing your other reincarnations, your sword is a legacy. One that I'm sure you are proud to be a part of."
"It is with great honor to accept such praise." Link said.
"What journeys await you, Zelda and Ganon's next incarnations… I suppose only time would tell." Revali said.
"Yeah…what I do know is…me and Zelda will not be close to done with our time together yet." Link said.
