Chapter 8:
Lucy stands over the current Four Emperors of Ishgar. Not far behind her were August and Jacob. Lucy kneels in front of Warren and Jara to speak.
Lucy: "Just so you know, I take no pleasure in doing this to you two; this is simply business."
Jara: "Then why would you betray your homeland, Lucy?"
Warren: "You were once a part of Fairy Tail. You once believed in the values of family Fairy Tail held. Why would you turn your back on all of that?"
Lucy: "It's not that I have betrayed my homeland or that I have turned my back on my beliefs. Six years ago, when Fairy Tail disbanded, I needed some help for something important, and the Averez Empire helped me with it. And to thank them, I offered my help and have sworn my loyalty to the Empire in this quest. And as you both know, "A Celestial Wizard NEVER breaks a promise." But out of respect for the both of you, I will allow you four to live."
And with that, Lucy, August, and Jacob walk away.
Lucy walked through the doors to the guildhall with Jacob and greeted the members, none of whom most likely recognized her.
Lucy: "Greetings, Fairy Tail."
Jacob: "Thought we'd offer your Master a drink before we kill you all. 'Don't know how things work here, but where we're from, today is the "Day of the Elders" where we respect our elders. That's why we're here. We traveled with this old wizard named August, the powerful man he is. We decided to give him a break and take care of all of you before he gets here."
Lucy: "But before we get down to business, we thought we'd offer Master Makarov a drink first. So how about it? I hear we can really hold your liquor."
Makarov: "You barge into our guildhall, talk about killing my children, and then ask to have a drink with me?"
Lucy: "Funny. You call them your children, and yet six years ago, you practically abandoned them right after a huge battle. Your children were scared, hurt, tired, sad, and in need of comfort. But instead of caring for them, you turned your back and disbanded the guild. And all because you thought that last fight was too tough; doesn't sound like a parent to me. Sounds more like a coward."
Makarov: "You speak as though you know a lot about parenting, miss?"
Lucy: "Lucilia. And yes, I know much about parenting. Not only am I a signal mother of twins. But, years ago, I also raised two small children. The first girl was named Blue. She had no home, no friends, no family. I gave her everything she could want; friends, family, even magic. She grew up and became one of the greatest wizards of her time. The second girl was named Anna. She was so much like Blue. She had a big heart and cared for others more than herself. Anna grew up to be one of the greatest wizards in history. I watched them both grow up from being two small girls with so little; to becoming two of the greatest wizards to ever live. You ask me what I know about being a parent. I say I know more than you."
Cana: "How dare you say something like that to Gramps!"
Maco: "He's a great man!"
Bisca: "He gave all of us a home when we didn't have one!"
Romeo: "He might not have made the right choice when he disbanded the guild. But when we wanted to bring the guild back, he stood by us and supported us. He's a great guild master."
Jacob: "Be that as it may. We still have a job to do."
With that, Jacob used his magic to cause everyone, but Lucy, Makarov, himself, and unknowingly Mavis, to disappear.
Makarov: "What have you done?!"
Jacob: "I just put the kiddies somewhere where they can't make too much noise. Don't worry their alive, for now."
Lucy: "But for now, let's talk about the Fairy Heart."
Makarov: "I have nothing to say to you two."
And with that, Makarov used his magic to attack Lucy and Jacob. They dodged and Jacob retaliated with attacks of his own. Jacob used his magic, while Lucy sat at the bar having a drink.
Right before Jacob could finish off Makarov, Lucy notices Mavis and tells him.
Jacob begins attacking Mavis while Lucy asks her where the Fairy Heart is.
However, before they can continue, Natsu shows up out of nowhere and punches Jacob in the face. Behind Natsu is Cana, who hid from Jacob's spell by hiding in one of her cards. Lucy decided to sneak out while they were distracted by Jacob.
After a while, Natsu and Cana not only defeated Jacob but also freed everyone. Everyone was happy about this until Makarov noticed someone was missing.
Makarov: "Wait! Where'd that woman go?"
Natsu (confused): "What woman?"
Makarov: "The man you just fought didn't come here alone. He had a friend with him."
Mavis: "I believe I saw her sneak away from guildhall after Natsu showed up."
Natsu: "So she ran away and left her buddy for dead. Not much of a team player."
Makarov: "It's more than that. The entire time she was here, she didn't attack. She just sat there and asked questions. And the way she spoke about the disbanding of the guild years ago, it's almost as if she had experienced it first hand. And she only left after Natsu showed up, almost like she didn't want to face him."
Maco: "Maybe she didn't attack because she's not as strong as she claimed to be?"
Mavis: "No. The magic radiating off of her was stronger than anything I had ever seen before. Her magic, it was clear she was not even releasing her full magical prances. She very well could have suffocated everyone in the guild within a second if she wanted to. But she didn't."
Maco: "I think the real question is, who is she?"
Makarov: "She said her name was Lucilia."
Mavis (surprised): "Wait! Her name was Lucilia? And she had what looked like a metal arm. I think I might know who that was"
Everyone: "WHO?!"
Mavis: "When I was young, I read about a legend surrounding the creation of Celestial Spirit Magic. It said that there was once a spirit named Lucilia. She had a metal arm and was known as the Water Dragon spirit, in the Human World. They say her key was the most beautiful key ever seen and was the first gate key ever made. But in the first 800 years of the magic, she only had 2 key holders. She would refuse a contract with just about anyone who held her key."
Cana: "So you're saying that lady was a spirit?"
Happy: "If that's true, then who has her key? I thought celestial spirits need to have a contract with someone to enter our world?"
Natsu: "That's what Lucy always told me."
Mavis: "That's the thing. According to legend, the water dragon key was lost to time."
Everyone: (GASP)
Mavis: "The water dragon key has not been seen for over 400 years. the last wizard known to hold the key was a celestial wizard named Anna Heartfillia. But she lived 400 years ago and is believed to have passed in her early 30s."
Natsu: "WAIT! HEARTFILLIA?! THAT'S LUCY'S LAST NAME! Maybe that's why we haven't been able to find her. She's trying to find the key her ancestor used to have."
Makarov: " Maybe. But for now, we have to assume that someone in the Spriggan 12 holds the water dragon key."
Little did they know that right outside the doors to the guildhall, Lucy was kneeling on the ground, listening to everything they said. She had a smug look on her face realizing they had forgotten how Loke had survived in the Human World for 3 years on his own magic, without a contract.
With that, she gets up and walks away.
That's it for now. What do you think?
