"Okay ladies and gents! We are now moving on to match 7. Now these next four fighters are a little bizarre but while they look…stiff, they aren't afraid to fight back. Among them are two World Crafters! A Night Roamer and an End Dweller. So we welcome…Steve, Alex, Zombie and Enderman!" Vi Per said as the four of them walked in without saying a word.
"So it's another 4-On-4 match we've got here." Vashyron said.
"So it would seem." Spade said. "They look…weird."
"They're from a game where you build things with blocks and craft tools. It's called Minecraft." Sunset said. "It's actually pretty popular…like…extremely popular."
"Is that why they were chosen to join Smash?" Shantae asked. "Because…they don't seem like the fighting types. Not trying to be rude or anything."
"Neither are Isabelle, Wii Fit Trainer, or Mr. Game and Watch, molodoy djinn." Molotok reminded her.
"Touche, and huh?" Shantae said in confusion.
"Young genie in Russian." Nemo leaned in.
"What he is trying to say is that it doesn't matter if they're fit for fighting or not. As long as there are people that recommend them, they have a chance." Lloyd said.
"Well…that's why I said touche." Shantae said with a nervous expression.
"Anyway, let's put a team together to match Steve's team. Who wants to go for us?" Hope said.
"I'll go." ZS said. "Zombie vs zombie and all that."
"I suppose I shall go as well." Harpuia said. "If any of them take to the air, I'll strike them back down."
"I'll get in on that action." Mina said.
"I was really hoping to face the Koopalings with Dynasmon and Vera, but… I suppose this can help make up for it." Magnamon said.
"Alright then. Go get 'em, guys!" Bow said.
"And here comes the team for the Hero Alliance! Zombie Skater, Sage Harpuia, Mina Ashido and Magnamon!" Vi Per announced as the four came to the arena. "The Craft Counters! And the location is…Minecraft World!" she said as they all soon appeared on a large blocky area with a house and some cattle. "Now…begin!"
The eight-count battle began as the monsters of the Minecraft team stood in front of the two World Crafters, who began digging at the ground with their pickaxes.
"Looks like Steve and Alex need time to gather materials, so the two monsters are playing defense for now." ZS remarked. "I got the undead. Who's got the Enderman?"
"Fine, I got him." Magnamon said.
The two dashed towards the two monsters, who met the assault head on as the battle began in earnest.
Both the Zombie and Enderman were quick on defense as the two fighters knocked them back.
"...Come, Digimon." the Enderman spoke calmly. "Show me the resolve…of a Royal Knight."
"Not sure how you're able to speak, but… I accept your challenge." Magnamon said.
The two opponents clashed once more, ZS and the Zombie doing the same. The Enderman teleported out of the way of Magnamon's punch and reappeared besides his head, delivering a spin kick to it.
"Not bad. Magna Blast!" Magnamon said as he fired a blast of energy from his hands. The blast hit the Enderman for a split second before it teleported once more, injured but still standing.
"You have a defense greater than Netherite and power above the dragon." the Enderman remarked. "Yes…truly, you are a knight, one who can help save my charges. Let us continue!"
"Bring it on! I can dish out anything you can handle." Magnamon said.
As the monsters battled their opponents, Steve and Alex, having completed their mining, moved in to engage Mina and Harpuia, zooming towards them on Minecarts.
"Here they come, Harpuia!" Mina said.`Time to show off that new move." she said as lots of acid coated her entire body before she was in the middle of a large blob of it. "Acidman!" she called as she went right at Alex and melted through some of her newly crafted tools.
Harpuia dashed upward and released a combo of three crescent slashes towards Steve, destroying his cart in the process before flying in and grabbing him. "Fall!" he said, bringing Steve upward before smashing him back to the ground in an Izuna Drop.
Steve tilted back upright (much like a bop bag) before he placed down a piston that launched Harpuia across the stage and into a large house. Harpuia slowly rose up only to find himself surrounded by Creepers.
"Impressive, but…" Harpuia started before a green glow emanated from the house as it soon exploded. "This battle has just begun!" he said as the smoke dispersed to show Harpuia in his armed phenomenon form as he then took to the skies. He summoned a tornado from his thrusters but they suddenly blew out, but not before sending Steve out of the arena entirely.
"Strange, why did Harpuia's thrusters suddenly give out like that?" Phantom asked.
"Well, maybe he's having technical problems or something. He is a robot after all." Kazuma said.
"Okay…things are starting to look good." Theo said.
Back in the fight, ZS stood in front of the swaying Zombie, clearly on its last legs. With a final cry and a jump, the undead skater hit his Minecraft counterpart with the edge of his board and sent it flying out of the battleground.
"Two down, two to go." ZS noted.
"Make it one to go!" Mina called out as she sent Alex flying away from the arena.
As for said one, the Enderman stood against Magnamon, standing tall.
"One final attack shall decide this match… and I shall use the one learned from my charges." the Enderman said as it pulled out a Diamond Sword and shifted into a stance not unlike a samurai. "One day, they shall overcome their despair… let this attack herald it!"
"(Lunar Technique: Crescent Slice!)" the End Walker spoke as it dashed towards Magnamon, its blade glowing with a pale white light.
"I'm going to put everything I have into this attack!" Magnamon said as he started compressing the space around the Enderman. "Miracles call… Behold and witness its aurora! Shining Gold…Solar Storm!" he said as the space around the Enderman expands in an explosive manner.
"Well…done." The Enderman muttered before falling right out of the arena.
"And the battle has ended! Our winners are…the four fighters from the heroes teams!" Vi Per called out as the audience cheered.
"Whew… That was pretty rough." Magnamon said.
"I'll say, that Zombie could take a beating." ZS agreed. "And that Enderman had some pretty cool moves up its sleeve. It even had a moonlight-channeling sword."
"It just shows the kind of things that these fighters are capable of." Magnamon said.
"And that Acid Man thing…whoa." ZS said.
"Thanks. It was inspired by that Unbreakable move Kirishima used." Mina said.
"Strange how my thrusters just gave out like that." Harpuia said. "After the fights, I'll have to see Miu for a full diagnostic."
"Good idea." Magnamon said.
"Yeah…just hope it's nothing serious…" Harpuia said.
A figure watched from the darkness as they cursed themselves before vanishing without anyone's notice.
