You head out the door with Sun as you play with your hair. "Ya, I think it's dry enough now to brush, mmh, still a little damp, though."
Sun reaches over and runs his fingers through the strands, from back to front, stopping when the resistance of the tangles gets a little too rough. "Mhm.. but, it was veryvery cute when it was wet toooooo~."
You grin and look down a little, him behind you luckily as to not relish in how easy it is to fluster you. "Well.. maybe you'll get it wet again sometime. For now, could you put these in the fridge?" You turn and hand him the bag of leftovers. "I'm gonna go brush my teeth and all, just wait for me outside, okie? I'll let ya brush my hair in the lobby upstairs."
He takes the bag and slouches down, his smile faltering a little. "O-outside?"
"Mhm, you don't have to accompany me on everything, Sunny. I'll always come back to you, though." You watch as he wrings his hands, bag still in one of them.
His eyes drop to the floor, and his rays shrink the tiniest amount, so little that anyone but you wouldn't notice it. "..O-okay, Sunflower. I'll wait right here, yesyes!"
You reach for one of his hands and squeeze it. "I'll always return. Promise, Sunny."
He locks eyes with you, and your warm smile does just enough for him to grow content with waiting. He still whines a little, but you glide your fingers down and off his hand and turn away. He watches as you disappear behind the bathroom door before heading into the breakroom to stow the food.
He waits.
You get to the sink, and set your bag down, pulling out the packaged toothbrush and uncapping the toothpaste.
You brush, and of course get foam everywhere. You roll your eyes at yourself in the mirror, grabbing a paper towel and wiping away the toothpaste around your mouth. You brush at your lips a bit to be a little extra soft in case you kiss them again, and rinse off the toothbrush and your face before returning it to the bag along with your toothpaste.
You smile at your messy hair in the mirror and the red ribbons wrapped around your neck to cover the hickeys. The sun and moon earrings sparkle a little in the light, and the drawings on your arm make you feel strangely nice - a feeling you can't really put your finger on. It's cute.
You put up the hygiene bag into one of your backpack compartments, and head to the door.
Opening it, there's Sun, waiting only about two feet in front of it.
His eyes widen and light up, standing up from his slouched position. "O-Oh! Sunflower! We missed you! Yes!" He whines, reflexively opening his arms preparing to grab you by your sides and squeeze you into him for a hug before stopping his movement suddenly. "N-no.. nonono, that would hurt, yes!"
You're giggling at this point as he slowly stutters his arms to your face, cupping it and adoring your smile and bright eyes as they look up at him. "Dude, I was gone for like five minutes, most. Silly."
"Too long." He grabs your hand, holding it entirely, encapsulating it in his much larger one as the warmth builds around it. You're relatively, absolutely tiny, and you'll never get over it when you're with him.
You adjust your backpack strap with your free hand and follow along with him. He's sure to express his excitement for the rest of the day. "O-oh, you didn't get to appreciate the Atrium in its entirety, nono!"
He gestures emotively, encouraging you to take the stairs before him. You look back at him easily bounding four steps at a time while you can barely take two. "Mhm, well, I definitely enjoyed the infirmary."
His laugh is really cute. "Oh, yesss, so did we, Sunbite. Veryveryvery much.~"
You reach the top and head for one of the little couches in the lobby. "One of the few things we have Monty to thank for. Tempted to throw that plushie into a toilet or something."
Sun hums. "..Well, we.. if he was reprogrammed.. Nono.. not good. M-me and Moon, we're conflicted about helping him, he wasn't very nice, nuh-uh, but.."
He pauses, resting his hands on the couch behind you as you sit down after taking off your backpack. "We weren't either."
You bend your head back, and look up at him. You sigh. "..I guess, at the very least, we can check him out." You're not gonna question the past you're sure they don't wanna remember, no matter how vivid their memory is, no matter how often they can't help but replay it anyway.
"You guys don't deserve the things he said about you, and I definitely didn't deserve to be lifted by my already messed up wrist 'cause he refused to let me leave." You reach up and gesture grabby hands for him to lower his face.
He brings his face to you, eyes soft and worrisome. You rub at the side of his rays, and he closes his eyes, relaxing into your hands. "We'll figure this out, for now, let's just take a very much so needed break."
Sun wants to remind you how right Monty was about some things, but, his concern for your safety outweighs his own self-doubt. He leans into your touch, and lets go of the thought. "O-okay, yes.. Mmh, we-we have a date!"
You smile, and lean back up. "Mhm, after we fix my hair. It's an absolutely mess, I'm sure you're aching to fix it." You pull your backpack up and retrieve the brush from inside, reaching your arm back and holding it out for him. You remove your security badge lanyard and put it in your lap to avoid it catching on the brush.
He hums, almost devolving into a whine, and hesitantly takes the brush. "..Nuh-uh, you're the only mess we can't get enough of, nono, b-but.. if you insist, Sunflower, I'll clean you up sososo nice, yesyes.
You exhale sharply in half embarrassment, half surprise. "Oh. Hah, okay. Smooth. Mmh, maybe you can mess it up again sometime~."
He gently starts detangling your hair. "Oooh, we will, don't you worry one bit about that!"
You grin, the warmth on your face matching the warmth of Sun behind you.
His fingers run through your hair, working at the twists and knots, using the brush to run through the strands that don't put up too much of a fight.
You begin to tense a little, goosebumps trickling down your neck as you sharply exhale in response to his touch, the red ribbons around your neck not doing much to insulate the electricity. You mistakenly let out a little noise.
He pauses. "..Something the matter, Sunflower? Am I being too rough?" He knows he isn't.
You compose yourself. "Ah, n-no, just, tickles a little."
"Mhm." He runs his fingers up the back of your neck, and you tense again against your will.
Another cute little noise, and he giggles, savoring it. You groan. "I-I'm just a little sensitive, alright."
He continues unraveling your fluff, making sure to notice you leaning back into the sofa just a little more in response to him playing with the little spots around your neck that make you squirm and sharply exhale every now and then.
You jolt a little too hard, and giggle when he glides the brush up and over behind your right ear.
"C'mon, Sunflower, still. You wanted me to tidy you up, didn't you?" He presses a hand onto your shoulder.
"Y-yeah, just.. feels pretty good. Don't.. usually get my hair brushed by anyone else, aha." You relax, and he continues, humming the Daycare Theme quietly as he works.
You think between the shudders that surge down your neck and onto your back.
"Hey, Sunny..?"
"Mhm?"
"Why don't you uh, call me Starlight anymore? It's.. only Moon that calls me it now."
He stops brushing for a second.
"O-oh, do.. do you not like my nicknames..?" He brushes a little slower.
You reach your hand on top of his resting on your shoulder. "Nono, I absolutely do, they're super cute! I'm just curious."
"Oooh." He pauses.
And resumes, a quick little giggle escaping him. "Mmh.. Moon would get a little upset I was using the nicknames he claimed for you~."
You almost turn your head to smile at him in surprise before stopping yourself. "What? Hah, Moon got jelly? That's cute."
"Very cute, Staaaarlight." He drags out the name.
You giggle, and Sun listens smugly as Moon tries his best to hide himself being obviously annoyed, unintentionally growling a little in their headspace to which he immediately ceases as Sun joins your laughter.
You try your best to still yourself for him to brush. "Hah, he didn't like that, did he?"
Sun shakes his head. "Nuh-uh. His growls are cute though, yesyes."
Your cheeks hurt a little from all the smiling you've been doing. "Oh, yeah, cute.. that's a word for it."
Moon reserves himself, him expressing his disapproval only resulting in further embarrassing himself.
Sun continues working at the last little bits of your hair, making sure the brush glides through it at least somewhat easily. He's thorough despite his anticipation. "Ooookay, all done! We-we should get going now, yes!?"
He places the brush in your hand, some hair wrapped around the bristles. You stuff it into the bag inside of your backpack, and zip it up after throwing your lanyard back around your neck. "Yah, of course. Let's get going." You sit up and put on your backpack, turning to him.
His eyes are sparkling and he's literally vibrating. He's going to have sososo much trouble staying at your pace. "Atrium, yes, o-oh, Sunflower, it's so big and pretty, you-you're gonna love it!"
You take his large warm hand and head out the gate, the sun and moon symbol disappearing into the ceiling as it opens.
Sun ducks into the elevator, and you study the posters on the wall, advertising attractions like 'Kid's Cove', and 'Monty's Gator Golf'. You've yet to see anything besides a little of the Atrium outside of the Daycare and Main Entrance. You're pretty excited, and it only grows with Sun explaining details of the places he plans to take you, making sure not to spoil any surprises.
The elevator opens, and you're met with blinding neon.
You slowly step out to admire the room, which you didn't get to take in entirely after Sun carried you to the infirmary last weekend. The floor is a mess of red and green dots against a black background, Freddy's face occasionally painted blue in a pattern. To either side of you are fake palm trees and giant posters, and in front of you is a bulletin board, with escalators past that at the edge of the balcony. Sun skips in front of you, around the board, and to the glass edge, the floor extending outward in a semicircle over the lower part of the room. "Look-look-look!"
He holds the top of the barrier, leaning over it and staring into the giant open area. You walk up to him, and as soon as you're clear of the big bulletin board in front of the elevators, you see it.
Giant holograms of the main cast animate on the stage past hundreds of chairs lining tables cluttered with just as many balloons. You saw them before being carried into the infirmary, but it's just as spectacular as the first time.
A huge star on the ceiling with giant screens on every side of it covers the open room with just enough light to allow the neon decorations to remain vibrant and attracting while still catching your eye. Gift shops are just about everywhere, rocket rides, advertisements for different attractions, food courts, everything. It's insane. It's huge.
You look away however, over to Sun. The million different colors of the Atrium reflect in his eyes like rainbow stars. It's like looking up at the Milky Way in the night sky, except it's all the colors you can possibly humanly perceive.
He turns to you, and he finds your eyes just as alluring under the neon sky.
Your tummy flutters.
You look away, hoping the colors shining down upon you hides your blush well enough.
He grins, and looks over to El Chip's. "Sunflower, looook! That's where we got you your lunch!" He whines after looking around some more. "O-oh, gosh there's sososo many places. Sososososo many!" His head is on a swivel, not exactly in awe of the Atrium - he's seen in a few times through Moon's eyes at night, and just earlier in the light when he brought you your food. No, he's just frantically deciding where he wants to take you first.
Your eye catches the posters advertising the Daycare. You find them cute, and you're glad they have at least some appreciation for them. It's well made.
Sun can't decide, but another thing grabs your attention. On the very bottom floor, there's something you absolutely can't pass up. You have a really good idea, and you're excited to see if it'll actually work.
You grab his hand, and he ceases his frantic searching. "Heh, c'mon, I'll pick."
He follows as you guide him. "O-okay, Sunflower.. w-what is it?"
"You'll see." You both walk down the escalators, notably not on for whatever reason.
You meet a black tiled floor, then down a few steps, onto checkerboard, and finally, a purple carpet patterned with Freddy faces and lightning bolts, the chairs, tables, accessory balloons and party hats on top of it spanning across the room in front of you.
Sun studies you, and where your eyes might be looking. "Sunflower, where are we going? There's not much down here, nonono, o-oh, did you want to see the holograms closer!? O-or, the birthday party tables..?"
You smile back at him. "Nope, I'm a little more interested in these." You stop at a photo booth.
Sun sulks. "O-oh, Sunflower, I-I don't think I will fit in there, nonono."
"Mmh, I'm sure you're flexible enough, but no, that's not what I have in mind, at least not yet." You circle the machine, and on the side, around the yellow lightning bolt, there's a panel.
Luckily, the handle is unlocked by the badge around your neck. You open it up, and study the circuit boards and interior mechanisms.
"Hah, no way." You find a USB port, luckily not needing an adapter. You lower to your knees and pull your laptop out of your backpack, and your phone out of the pocket you put it in with your old bag.
Sun bends to his knees to join you, wringing his hands as his eyes widen at the exposed equipment. "S-Sunflower, you-you're gonna get us in trouble!"
You giggle as you power on the laptop and connect your phone to it. "What do you mean, Sunshine? I'm just fixing it up, routine.. uh, repair." You smile at him, and wink.
He takes a moment to process your little fib, still a bit worried. "Ooookay.. b-but, what are you actually doing..?"
You begin transferring files over from your phone, to the laptop. At the same time, you open the program that allows you to edit the code of the animatronics here, hoping it'll also work on the photo booth. It's a long shot, but whatever, you've literally got a bachelor's degree in computer science. Luckily you started almost out of high school, it was a frustrating fun hobby too. You'll figure it out.
The files are transferred, and you switch the USB that connected to your phone to one that'll fit into the photo booth's port, the backpack containing an extra along with various other cords.
The program immediately detects it as company property and reveals the interface. It's a little different from what you saw skimming though Sun and Moon's code, but you're already beginning to decipher the new UI.
After a couple minutes, you discover the photo processing code for pictures taken, and insert your own. You insert all of your adjustments, of course saving the previous code to reset it after you're done, and begin You execute the printing process while also tricking the software into thinking it was taking the photo. Didn't even have to pay, just set the variable that confirms money has been processed to 'true' temporarily in your own edit.
Sun watches over your shoulder as you work.
He jumps a little when the booth whirrs and paper falls to the ground inside.
You run it a few times for multiple copies, before reverting your changes and stowing away everything. You close the hatch, and stand.
Brushing aside the red curtain, on the floor, lay dozens of photos.
You flip them over, and collect them neatly..
You exit, and turn around, your back facing Sun so he can look over you at the photos in your hands.
The first of a few copies you admire is the one you took on their balcony, after Sun had.. marked you - the first time. He got you really good then, and he still continues to keep up that reputation. His smug little grin and your dorky little peace sign are ever so charming. You're obviously a little red right now from the bite marks and hickeys you're so obviously showing off in the picture, but, it's not like you wouldn't print it. How couldn't you?
The next, like, dozen, are the various pictures you took of Moon in Parts and Service after you repaired them both for the second time. You felt a little bad that you only had photos of Sun at the time, so you took a ton of you and Moon. Some cute, some silly, some of him pretending to bite you that you hope no one else sees.
The rest are copies of the ones you took on your first day with Sun. He already has them hanging up in their room, but a few extra wouldn't hurt~.
Sun clasps his hands to his face, and you can feeling him burning hotter as you lean back into his tummy. "S-Sunflower! O-oh, these are sososososo cute! N-nonono, so.. so pretty.. o-oh c-can we have some!? Pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty PRETTY please!?"
You go through the photos, and take two of each, having printed the batch about four times. You reach the rest up over your head to Sun. "Of course, they're for both of us, Sunlight."
"O-oh my stars.. oh, we.. we wanna squeeze you! N-nonono that'd be bad, no.. hurt.." He barely processes the new nickname in his excitement, looks like you'll just be using it more until he does.
He goes through the photos at light speed, and you can hear them shuffling rapidly above you. He's making sure to copy them to his memory permanently, just in case.
You turn around, and lean into a hug. He's.. so fucking warm. Your clothes begin to feel like they just came out of a dryer.
He melts into you, falling onto his knees and digging his head into your chest, retracting rays before they're able to poke you. "..S-such a smart little flower, yesyes.. Sososo sweet.. o-oh.. oh stars.."
You caress his rays and hold him close. You both make sure the pictures are safe and sound behind each-other's backs.
He begins leaning into you, and you begin falling back. "H-hold on, Sunny. Lemme put the photos in my bag."
He stops, and holds your back with his hand as you lay almost under him. He admires the neon lights painting your face with color, hiding the red. He whines, but hands them to you.
You giggle after sitting up onto your knees, detaching yourself from him. You swing your backpack around your arm, open an unused smaller compartment in your bag, carefully tuck them into a pocket, and zip it securely shut.
Almost immediately Sun takes the bag, and discards it to the side, guiding you onto the floor.
You're entirely below him, head against the hopefully clean carpet, hair a mess once again. He adores the sparkle in your eyes complimenting your earrings glimmering with color, the surprise flushing your face topping it all off. You stammer as he leans in.
"H-hold, on. There's.. surely a ton of cameras here. We're already being sus enough as it is, aha." You look up at him, rays ceased, but gears turning.
He looks over and in front of you, and picks you up.
You squeak at the sudden movement, your ribs only aching a tiny bit, most of your senses busy stimulated by shock, warmth, and another type of burning hot. He brushes aside the curtain, and sits back against the little bench, bending forward to fit.
He places you in his lap, your back laying against his thighs that are elevated up from how small the area is, facing him.
He slides the curtains shut. There's still the light above, unfortunately for Moon.
You look up from his chest, and he stares down at you, smug.
"..Now we have just one camera to worry about, Sunbite."
You burn.
He plays with your hair, and you wrap your arms around his ruffled neck. His palms against your cheeks are so very hot, but it's not like they wouldn't be warm without them anyway.
He leans down. "Pretty.. little flower, yes. Mmh."
Your mouth parts the slightest, not being able to help it with how fast you're breathing. You wonder if these kinda moments are ever gonna get easier with them.
He locks with your soft little lips, and his hand glides across the side of your head, wrapping around to the back of it to hold you, surely messing up your hair once again.
Orange juice.
He plays with you for a little bit, and you return the favor by caressing his rays and returning his eagerness to taste you.
He'd bite your neck if it wasn't covered, he's definitely flexible enough.
After a minute or two, he pulls away. You whine just a little before silencing the noise you couldn't help but make, feeling his absence.
He smiles. You're messy.
Your breathing slows and your tummy and chest soon calm from the electricity jumping around in it. Your mouth is still parted a little, and your eyes are hooded.
He leans in, and kisses you on the forehead. "..Such.. Mmh, such a pretty mess, such a cute little flower.."
"Hah.. Sunlight."
He lights up at the nickname, finally processing it. He pulls out a cloth from some pocket and wipes away the saliva at your lips and the little dripping down your chin. "Messy."
You roll your eyes. "You like it."
"Mhm." He savors you under him for just a few more seconds before guiding you both out, and setting you on your feet, legs a little weak for some reason.
You giggle as you go to pick up your bag, dopamine and all that good stuff still flooding your systems. "..Gosh, at.. at least we hid that time." You look around at the ceiling, scanning for cameras.
Sun ruffles your hair. "Mhm, yesyes, wouldn't want them to know about an engineer making out with an animatronic, nonono."
You roll your eyes and fix your hair. "..Mmh, like they could do anything about it."
He walks up behind you, placing both his hands firmly on your shoulders. "And if they did.."
He leans over your head, smiling upside-down in front of you in a familiar position.
"..They'd simply regret it, veryvery much, mhm." He pulls away, the somewhat ambiguous dark implications of that being a little unclear given his pretty little smile and warm blue eyes.
You're not sure how to feel about that anyway. "Mmh, I don't think anyone is gonna bother us in any meaningful way, Sunny. If they do though, let me take care of it first, okay?"
He hums. "Mmh."
You adjust your backpack straps after making sure all the pockets are zipped up tight. "I'm serious, please listen to me a little more, okay? The uh, incident with Kieran was avoidable. You weren't really in the wrong or anything, but.. yeah."
He sighs. "..Okay, Sunflower. For you."
You smile up at him, turning and pulling him down a little to kiss him on his forehead. "And yeah, I don't think anyone is gonna bother us."
He smiles, then absolutely beams in excitement. You prepare for his burst of energy as his eyes widen. "T-The bakery! Oo-oh! Yesyesyes, we-we can go to the next location! A-and pay with stickers, maybe!"
You giggle, and take his hand. "Hah, lead the way, Sunshine."
He nods rapidly, and off you go.
You both head off to the right side of the Atrium and up some escalators. He's leading you off to two gates a little to the left, under a.. 'Sodaroni' animated billboard. That takes your attention for a second, but you notice something else off to the right. He's going a little fast, so you hold his hand back a little.
"H-hey, slow down a little Sunny. What's over here?" You let go and walk over to the glass divider separating the lower area from you.
"Awh, there's a huge sun skylight. It's cute." Seagull cutouts hang from the ceiling too, and the closer you get, the more interesting the area seems. You lean over the glass, looking down at the cute attraction adorned with tons of pirate theme cutouts and props, including way more realistic looking palm trees than the rest of the Plex. You quickly notice the gate, painted with the same sun and moon symbol as the one that leads into the Daycare.
You look to your right, and notice a statue of a character you haven't seen before.
"Hey, Sun, who's this guy? A.. pirate fox? Hah, that's cute." You turn over to Sun.
"You think we ca-"
He's still.
He's.. frowning.
You walk over to him. "..S-Sunny, what's wrong?"
His eyes shut, and he steps back suddenly.
He shakes his head, and opens his eyes, looking down at you. The worry on your face pulls him out of it.
He wrings his hands. "..O-oh, s-sorry, Sunflower.."
You walk up to him, and take one of his hands. You exhale sharply and smile, a little relieved. "You're okay, we.. we can go. Cupcakes, yeah?"
He looks over you for a second, but returns to you when you gently rub at one of the lower rays you can reach.
He smiles. "Y-yes.. yesyes.. Cupcakes.. Cupcakes!"
You giggle. "Mhm, let's go." You begin walking to the gate he was so adamant to get through initially, and he follows with his hand in yours.
The gate opens, and you walk through the hallway, only momentarily glancing in the direction of the glass barriers overlooking what seems to be the entrance to Monty's Gator Golf.
You hurry past concession booths and turn left, walking the hallway between brick walls occasionally painted with ads and general PizzaPlex decorations. You glance over at the cardboard cutouts of the main cast to your left, until you meet a gate at the end of the hall.
You approach, and it opens.
You enter a very pink area, and when you round the corner, you're met with the shop.
Various large tubes seem to line the ceiling, colored blue and pink, all entering the shop's roof. It draws your eyes to the giant cupcake statue on the top of the building, the thing having eyes and two weird front teeth. You giggle.
It's pretty cool, the pink walls of the shop are patterned with the occasional lollipop, and above the doorframe, there's a large yellow "LET'S EAT!" sign. Honestly kinda obnoxious, but you find it charming nonetheless, and Sun is very glad you're at least amused.
His energy has returned. "Isn't it sososo pretty, yesyes, come on, come on!"
You follow, brushing past a security bot and entering through the front doors of the bakery.
Sun opens the doors for you, the little entry bell ringing, and you head in, rolling your eyes and smiling at his signature bow.
It definitely smells like cupcakes. It's almost overwhelming, but you're soon snapped out of admiring the desserts and various sweets in display cabinets when you notice purple and neon green in a booth to your left, then suddenly, a white and pink flash which pops up from behind the counter.
You jump. "Shi- W-woah."
Chica, and to your left, laying far too back in the booth, is Roxy.
Chica leans over the counter, and beams, almost knocking over a couple whipped cream bottles. "Oh! Hey sweetheart, and Sundrop! What brings you two here!?"
Roxy snickers for a second off to your left.
You're already growing red. "..Uh, just.. touring the Plex. Sun thought this might be a good place to visit.."
Chica looks over at Sun and smiles warmly. "Oooooh, well he is very right, hun! It's really cute, isn't it!? Me and Roxy come here to bake a little sometime, well, I do most of the baking, but she likes to learn~."
Roxy rolls her eyes and hums dismissively before turning to study her reflection in the glass, fixing her hair.
That piques your interest a little. "You bake?" You glance over at the giant cupcake oven-like thing in the back, pipes connected to it, already baking something.
Chica seems overjoyed at the question. "Mhm! Usually the Staff bots do all the work on work days, but we're here occasionally, it's fun! Ooooh, and the sweets are so delicious!"
You giggle, and warm up to her. Sun walks up next to you, adoring the room, glancing over at Roxy every so often.
"Oh? You can taste?" Engineering curiosity.
She nods. "Yup! Have to run an incineration process and empty the compartment at the end of each week, but-"
She opens her beak a little, exposing a tongue. "Taste buds! I'll occasionally eat at parties with the kids, it's fun!"
You giggle. "That's cool, I thought Sun w-" You pause.
"The, uh, only one with a tongue, a-and all." You quickly recover. "Study his and Moon's blueprints pretty well, ya know, since I, uh, I'm their engineer."
Chica's eyelids hood a little, and she smiles. "Mhm." Roxy briefly giggles at her booth, only a little venom slipping out.
After a few seconds of awkward silence, and Sun not doing anything to help as he smiles smug next to you, Chica thankfully breaks it. "So, are you and Moon getting along..?" The look in her eyes is not really of curious interest, but concern..
You look up to Sun, and then back to Chica. "Oh, yeah, of course. It was.. a kinda rough start, but.. yeah, he's pretty sweet."
Roxy pokes her head up to look over at you, brows furrowed, expression blatantly doubtful. Chica's smile returns. "..Good, just, not many engineers got along too well with him.. in the past."
You sigh. "Well, that's the past. It's okay now. He's cool."
Roxy hums.
Chica looks over at her, a little worried, then back to you. "Well, would you like some sweets? We've got a ton, and I definitely make a little too many!"
You smile. "Yeah, uh, would it cost anything?" Not that money would be an issue, you just don't have your wallet on you right now.
Sun perks up next to you, planting his hands on the counter and leaning over a little. "Oooh! I have stickers, yesyes! I-If you'd like them, of course!"
Chica giggles. "Hm, well, how could I say no? I'd happily take some in exchange for some cupcakes for our lil' tech friend here." She turns and walks over to the back, and reaches into the cupcake oven, and pulls out, of course, a batch of bright pink cupcakes.
She plants them down on the metal table in the back, and transfers them into a little box with the goofy cupcake mascot on it, party decorations littering the cardboard. She happily brings it over to the counter. "Here ya go, sweetie! Now, I do expect payment, so, Sundrop, would you mind?"
His rays spin and he smiles, you can't help but adore it with a giggle. Chica and Roxy have definitely already noticed how you look at him.
Sun reaches into one of his pockets, and retrieves about a dozen stickers. "Mhm! Here ya go!"
Chica shuffles through them all. "Aw, these are cute, hun."
You nod, and take the box to a table. "Hah, yeah, I've got some on my laptop and watch here." You display your wrist, showing off the cute little chibi of Sun and their signature symbol.
She takes the stickers over to a bag, presumably hers, and puts them in. "I'll find a very good use for them."
Roxy turns and faces you from her table. "Have you checked the plush yet?"
Her eyes are still, and she scans you, rather your backpack, and proceeds to sigh. "Of course you haven't. All you care about is that babysitter."
You scoff. "Dude, Monty literally almost killed me."
She snaps back. "And Sundrop didn't? What's that ribbon around your neck covering, by the way?"
Silence.
"What about Moon? It was rough at first? Yeah, no. Bullshit." She crosses her arms.
Sun covers his mouth, but slowly makes his way over to you, placing a hand on your shoulder.
You stammer. "It.. it wasn't him. He.. he has a glitch, o-or something. I'm working on it."
Roxy stands. "What about Moon? What's your excuse for him?"
Sun's rays lock suddenly. "..Mmh, you sound like you need to mind your own business, Roxanne, yesyes." And he rubs your shoulders. You make sure to lean back into him, you're not uncomfortable about Sun, not in the slightest, but Roxy of course had to start shit.
You look over to Chica, noticing her frown, surely about to interrupt the argument. You hope. You turn back to Roxy. "..Y-yeah.. We're okay now. Can you stop, please? I don't want to talk about this."
She looks up to Sun, him in a similar position to when you first met her and Chica. She growls. "..Mhm. Well, I guess you're lasting longer than the others. Believe it or not, I'm just concerned for your safety. You have absolutely no idea, tech, no clue at all. What we put in the plush is a double-edged sword. Fix Monty, and find the answers you're avoiding. He doesn't deserve what they did to him, and you don't deserve to be lied to."
Chica laughs nervously before walking around the counter and over to Roxy. "Oookay guys, let's calm down.. please." She takes Roxy's hand, and pats her back with the other. "Do you want me to pretty up your hair, hun? Come on, let's head to your room, okay?"
Roxy turns to Chica, and almost immediately defuses. She sighs before turning back to you and Sun. She's quieter this time at least, especially when avoiding eye contact and muttering "Sorry."
Chica takes Roxy's hand and they begin to leave past you, Roxy looks down to you before continuing, almost pitifully. "..Be careful." And out the doors they go. Sun rotates his head to watch them closely, hands still firmly over your shoulders.
You breathe. "..Ugh. Sorry.. Sunny."
He relaxes, and walks over to the table where the cupcakes are at. "You have nothing to be sorry for, Sunflower.. She.. she has reason to be concerned, yesyes."
You slide into the booth, and open the cupcake box. "Well, we'll have time to address all that some other time. For now, I wanna be with you. I wanna go a day without some piece of.. work.. tainting it with toxicity."
He sits at the other end, and rests his face in his hands, eyes still uncovered to look at you. "It-It'll be okay.. we'll figure it all out, right? Together?"
You smile up at him, taking a cupcake out of the box with one hand, and reaching over the table with another. You extend your pinky, smiling warmly to soothe him. "Together. Promise."
He wraps his finger around yours, and heats up a little more.
You eat about two cupcakes before the bell rings again. Sun immediately perks up, and focuses his attention to the door.
Familiar giggling.
You turn, and there's both Wendy and April. You sit up to make yourself known, them already noticing Sun however. "Oh, hey, guys?"
Wendy glows noticing you two. "Oh! Hey! What are you two doing here!? Wow, I haven't seen Sun outside the Daycare in absolutely forever."
April rests against the counter. You smile. "Mmh, cupcakes."
April giggles. "Cupcakes?"
You nod. "Well, yeah. Sun is actually giving me a tour, this is the second place he wanted to go so far."
Wendy rests her hands on her hips. "Oh, is that so? Cute. Well, didn't you meet Chica and Roxy? They, uh, didn't seem very happy when we ran into them on the way here. Anything the matter?"
April giggles. "Yeah, Roxy seemed a bit more frustrated than usual, Chica waved but went right back to soothing her."
You hum. "Eh, yeah. Roxy likes to start stuff, I guess. What brings you two here, though? We didn't expect to run into this many people, gosh."
Wendy pouts dramatically. "Aw, do you not wanna see us? How cruel." She giggles. "No, we were gonna check in on Roxy and Chica, and they weren't in their greenrooms, so this is the next place they'd be. But, yeah, they didn't seem down to conversate. We'll catch them later."
"Check in?" You look over to Sun, just making sure he's okay. Of course he is, simply observing the conversation, admiring you most of the time. You lock eyes before smiling back to the two girls.
April replies for Wendy. "Yeah, they're pretty cute together, plus we just wanted to ask if they're doing alright."
Wendy nods. "Yup, since Sun is actually, y'know, real, it's not far fetched to assume the rest are too."
You smile. "That's sweet." Your gears turn for a second. "Oh. Are.. are Chica and Roxy a.. a thing?"
They both laugh after a second. Wendy recovers first. "Wow, you're as oblivious as you are obvious. I mean, it's not as obvious as you and Sun, but, yep."
You freeze, and promptly bury your face in your hands.
April rubs some more dirt in your wounds. "Yeah, wanna hear something else?"
You groan.
"Don't tell anyone else in management or anything, but-" she giggles. "You know me and Wendy are a thing too, right?"
You look up, and sigh. "Oh. Well, I could've.. guessed."
Wendy rolls her eyes and walks over, patting you on the back. "Really though, don't mention it to management or anything. Workplace relationships aren't very smiled upon."
April grabs a stool and sits. "Come on sweetie, lighten up. I thought that'd make you feel better about you and Sun."
You're definitely still red, but, really? You point at Wendy and April. "Human, human. Roxy and Chica, robot, robot."
You point to Sun, and then yourself. "Robot, human."
Your hands return to your face as Sun giggles, observing the situation with amusement. You're smiling too under your palms, but just a little
April is silent for a second. "Good point."
Wendy laughs with Sun. "Here, do you want some cake?"
You wait a second, then nod a little. "..You know how to make cake here?"
She makes her way to the back. "Yup, I know how to bake pretty well. We actually came here to knock out two birds with one stone, kinda? It aligned pretty well. April likes to come here with me since I do make really good sweets, and I'm encouraging her bad behavior of slacking on the job~. Chica has some competition." She giggles.
April scoffs and rolls her eyes. "It's not slacking! We're here for like, thirty minutes, an hour tops."
Sun hums. "Rulebreaker~."
Her head darts to Sun, then to you. "He's not gonna get me in trouble, is he?"
You open your mouth to speak, but Sun answers for you. "Nuh-uh, not if you take a few stickers, I won't! Mhmm." He pulls a few out of his pocket, and you're wondering if he has an infinite supply.
April sighs, and grins, gladly collecting the stickers as Sun leans over and extends his arm to the side dramatically to stretch to her at the counter. "Thank you, Sundrop."
He nods happily.
You watch him in admiration. "Heh, he's been giving those out like crazy. Literally paid Chica with some for these cupcakes."
April giggles. "Cute. They are really nice stickers, after-all."
You show her your watch. "You should see my laptop, it's actually in my bag here, but, yeah.. O-oh! Thanks for it by the way! It's super helpful, like, seriously."
She grows smug after being silent for a second, eyes deviating below your own. "..Mhm, your ribbon is slipping."
You're confused for just a moment before your eyes widen just as much as her grin. "Shit."
You reach up, but Sun meets the ribbon first. "Language." He adjusts and tightens it, retying the little bow as you match its color.
He finishes, and you take off your lanyard just in case that's what made it slip in the first place. The thought of Sun intentionally tying it loose crosses your mind too, but you'll take that up with him later. You put your badge in your backpack, and pinch the bridge of your nose, resting your elbow on the table. "..I'm gonna get a migraine. This is gonna kill me."
Wendy sets a box down on the counter behind April. "Hopefully cake will help!"
The smell didn't reach your nose yet given the other overpowering sweets filling the air anyway, but as soon as April opens the box, it's overwhelming.
That definitely helped your 'headache' that you definitely didn't use as an excuse just to break awkward silence. "Woah, that.. smells really good."
April nods, grabbing a knife from over the counter as well as to view the cake. "Yup, she's amazing at it." She fully opens the box and stares in for a second. "Holy heck, come here! Wendy, what!? The symbol! I knew you could draw!"
You and Sun sit up from the table, and walk over, him taking his position behind you, looking over. Wendy giggles. "It's not really drawing, aha."
You're both in absolute shock.
It's.. insanely perfect. On the top, there's rainbow sprinkles surrounding the signature yellow and white sun and moon symbol displayed on the Daycare gates, this time made out of frosting rather than paint. It looks as good as it smells - which is fucking amazing, and you're sure the taste will match your expectations. Cute blue icing covers the top of the cake under the sun and moon while white icing spreads along the bottom. The exposed middle is filled with two shades of brown separated into three layers, the top and bottom one being a lighter brown, while the middle is a little darker.
Wendy giggles for a second, playing with the various bracelets around her wrist, observing your reactions painted with admiration. "It's nothing, I did it from memory, so I just hope it's correct!"
Sun leans over you at the counter, your eyes wide and his smile beaming. "O-oh! Wendy! This.. this is perfect, yesyes! You did sosososo very good, oh my stars!"
April giggles up at Sun while Wendy can't help but match his smile, her heart admittedly melting a little.
You're in awe. "My gosh, yeah, I haven't seen this cute of a cake anywhere, Wendy. You made this by yourself? What!?"
She's humble, of course. "Well, the layering was done by the machine, but, yeah, I made the symbol by hand. Got pretty messy too." She displays her button-up shirt, it having a bit of icing still on it from the aftermath.
April reaches her phone out of her skirt pocket, and takes a photo before returning it and picking back up the knife. "Ya, it's saved. This is definitely worth slacking off a bit, does anyone object to cutting?"
You and Sun look to Wendy, her obviously being the one to have the final say. "Oh, yeah, of course, go ahead guys!"
April works carefully on cutting it into little slices, before distributing them on a plate for everyone.
You and Sun slide into one side of the booth together, while Wendy and April join at the other.
You look to Sun. "You.. can eat, right?"
He hums. "Mmh, incineration at the end of the week just like Chica, yesyes, and you know I can taste~."
"..Y-yup, very aware."
At least April and Wendy are amused by your embarrassment. Defending your knowledge of his mouth with reading their blueprints seems a little useless this time, they definitely know better by now.
You sigh, and eat, hoping your fluster, which everyone finds so amusing, dissipates with the tastes of the cake.
It does. It's wonderful. Chocolate, with not too much icing unlike most cakes have. Sun finishes his quickly, and you giggle while wiping his face off with a napkin. You don't blame him, it was really good.
You cut off another piece of your cake. "Wendy, you're.. seriously talented."
Sun nods rapidly. "Yesyes! I-I don't think.. I've had anything that good, ever, nuh-uh!"
She giggles softly. "Mmh, it's just a hobby, but thank you guys. Oh, gosh, you should see April's drawings! Her teaching me a lil' probably helped with creating the cute symbol on the top!" She nudges April next to her.
April sighs, but smiles. "Yeah, I guess mine are pretty good."
You have a sneaking suspicion they're not just 'pretty good'. "You guys really have to take notice of your own talent."
April rolls her eyes, Wendy almost does too, giggling after noticing April claiming the action first. "Says you, I'm sure you're not any different." Wendy crosses her arms.
You hum ambiguously. "..Maybe." and suddenly perk up. "Oh! Sun, uh, used to draw. Here." You show them your arm that they've surely already seen.
They laugh in unison, and Wendy recovers first. "Mhm, we assumed that was him."
April plays with her fork on the plate. "Yah, if you're in the Daycare still this afternoon, we could hop by. I'll show you some out of my sketchbook, and maybe just draw you both something~."
Wendy agrees. "Oh, yes, we'll text you. I got your number."
Sun's rays spin a little faster. "Oooh, I'd like that veryvery much, yes!"
You smile, hoping it'll encourage Sun to draw a little bit more. "Mhm, we should be back by then." You check your watch, it being around two. You hope you'll be back by then. Kinda.
April checks her watch too. "Oh, shi-, uh, yeah, we should get back."
Wendy scoots out of the booth. "Yeah, yeah. It's only been like, maybe half an hour? We could stay a little longer~." She teases.
April collects her bag hastily, while Wendy takes her time. "What? Girl, they're gonna write us up or something."
You adore their subtle contrast. They both say their goodbyes and April reaches for Wendy's hand, urging her out the door. Wendy giggles. "Slow down, slow down, we'll be fineeee."
You hear April protesting before the door shuts.
You lean into Sun at your side, wrapping your arms around his closest to you.
He hums, and rests his ruffled neck over the top of your head, his faceplate sideways and leaning over.
You stay like that for a few minutes, until Sun whines. "..Mmh, you're so veryvery soft, Sunflower, but, don't you wanna see Rockstar Row!?"
You groan. "Mmmh, maybe." You sit up a little, and stretch. Sun slides out of the booth and you miss the warmth of his touch.
You grab your backpack you set against the side of the booth, and throw it around your arm as Sun holds your other hand with anticipation. You grin looking up at his expression.
"Alright, alright, let's go." Although you were more than happy to fall asleep with him in the booth.
You both make your way down to the first floor, and past the giant holograms, into a left side entrance, and finally arrive at a gate. You leaned into Sun the entire time when you could as you walked.
The gate opens, and you watch as the vibrantly decorated hallway exposes itself to you, just as much neon as the Atrium shining back onto you and Sun. "Woah."
You walk up to the golden Glamrock Freddy statue in the middle of the hall, admiring the display cases and neon names decorated with doodles above all the greenrooms.
You flinch and cover your eyes with one hand while the other grips Sun's a little tighter as a flashlight shines in your direction. You don't even get time to look down from the statue in front of you before a guard yells in your direction. "Yo, what are you doing out of the Daycare!?"
You sigh, hearing footsteps behind you as well.
