"All right…this next match will be an interesting one. It will be…a tag team match. Two vs two! Now…our first fighters! They are two sides of the same coin. One of fire and one of light. Both belonging to the same wielder. Together…they are the Aegis! So welcome…Pyra and Mythra!" Chi Ta said as the two blades came walking down side by side.

"That's right! You can do it, you two!" Rex called out.

"And their opponents! While originally one person, these two differ in many different ways. One uses the astral zodiac while the other draws from the Chinese zodiac. These two take the lead of both Mythos Hearts and Fatebreakers! The Galactic Hero and the Eastern Hero! Welcome…Theo and Ethox Starcrest!" Chi Ta said as the two Keyblade Wielders entered.

"Ready to do this, Bro?" Ethox asked.

"Of course…been waiting for this chance for days." Theo said.

"And the location this time is…the Cloud Sea of Alrest!" Chi Ta said as the two appeared on a titan flying above the clouds. "So…let the battle…begin!"

Theo and Pyra started things off.

"Let's do this!" Pyra said. "Behold the Power of the Aegis!"

"Gemini Mode!" Theo said as his keyblade changed into twin swords.

"Blazing End!" Pyra called, telekinetically throwing her sword forward as it spun while being set ablaze.

"Twin Marauder…Strike!" Theo said, sending the sword flying while extinguishing its flames. Said flames being moved to one of the sword blades.

"What…is this?" Pyra said.

"This is the power of Gemini Mode. Each of my swords…can take on attributes to whatever they strike and act as a weakness. In short, one of my swords…can now slay anything that uses fire." Theo said.

"Oh boy…" Pyra said as she was now on defense against Theo as she was being forced back. "This guy's no pushover!"

Pyra and Theo parried each other's strikes as they fought across the flying titan.

At the same time, Ethox was fighting Mythra and dealing with her superior speed.

"Oh hey, were you seriously planning on winning against me?" Mythra said. "Gee, I feel kinda bad now."

"Oh, it's okay. I'll win anyway!" Ethox replied as he pointed his Keyblade forward. "Through the unknown, the flame rides. Flame Steed!"

From the weapon, a fiery construct in the shape of a horse galloped forward with a bellowing neigh and charged Mythra with a speed that matched her own.

"I didn't think Pyra and Mythra could appear at the same time." David said.

"While that is normally true, outside of this arena, here we can make anything happen so long as it involves fighting." Chi Ta explained.

"Fair enough, I suppose." David said.

Mythra burst through the flames and charged at Ethox.

"Photon Edge!" Mythra slashed at Ethox from three different directions at lighting speed before leaping into the air. "Chroma Dust!" she then did a midair somersault before blasting five Light projectiles out of her sword.

Ethox blocked the three projectiles before locking on through a shotlock and getting a max target lock. "Take this!" he called, firing multiple blasts of light at her.

"Foresight!" Mythra called as she warped through the attack, dodging as if she predicted it.

"Hey, that's Shulk's trick!" Ethox said as they continued fighting.

Back with Pyra and Theo, Pyra got her footing back and aimed to go back on the offensive.

"This is getting tricky. My attacks…they aren't tripping this guy up at all!" Pyra said before she was left near the edge.

"Had enough?" Theo asked.

"Not quite. Rex!" Pyra called out as her driver soon came to her side.

"I've always got your back." Rex said.

"Burning Sword!" both called out as Rex swung his sword, forcing Theo back and Gemini Mode to deactivate.

"Dang…that was so strong I lost control for a moment." Theo said.

Pyra then charged in with the Aegis Blade in hand as she unleashed powerful sword strikes. "Prominence Revolt!" she called, jumping and slashing upward as she followed up with a falling sword stab into the ground as it unleashed a pillar of fire only for sand to drown it out. "Sand?"

"But…you gave me the chance to think of a better tactic." Theo said, holding a spear. "Sand does suffocate fire after all. Now…Glittering Storm!" he called out as he sent Pyra flying out of the arena in a massive sandstorm.

"Pyra!" Mythra said as Ethox charged in and clashed with her.

"Your fight's with me!" Ethox said.

"Oh I'll give you a fight! Lightning Buster!" Myhtra called, as she slashed Ethox three times before breaking away from him.

"Mythra, now!" Rex appeared at Mythra's side and swatted Ethox away before he could recover.

"Concentrate, Rex!" Mythra said as they raised Mythra's sword together as a beam of light shot into the air. "Sacred Arrow!" the both of them called.

"Uh oh..!" Ethox said.

"And… strike!" Rex called as multiple light projectiles rained down.

Ethox thought fast and switched to his newest Keyblade, No Straight roads. "Mayday, Zuke! Help me now!" Ethox's Keyblade glowed. It then grew larger for a bit before it split into two, turning into drumsticks. Ethox used them to rhythmically parry the projectiles, just like how Zuke attacked.

"No way! He's deflecting them all?!" Mythra said.

"Not finished yet!" Ethox called, putting his two weapons back together as they transformed into a fiery guitar as he strummed it, flames erupting. He then charged at Mythra and knocked her away, before stunning her with two more swings. "It's time to end this!" he said, swinging his guitar back to waist level and throwing up the goats. "This song's for you!" he called as he played a guitar solo that fired off fire and lightning, blasted all around Mythra before a final bolt sent her flying out of the arena.

"And the battle has reached its ending. Our winners are…Theo and Ethox!" Chi Ta said.

"You totally rocked that one, Ethox! Nice one!" David said.

"Thank you." Ethox said. "Glad it wasn't too flashy. I know a rock band is your thing and all, but I wanted to try out this new Keyblade I got."

"Well, I'd say you and Theo made a very good team. A better duo than most of ours, in fact." David said. "I think we made the right call bringing the two of you together."

"Definitely." Theo said.

"As of now…only four fighters remain: Daisy, Bowser, Mario and Kirby." Ivy said.

"Yep. And I think all of these are pretty much locked. This is gonna be interesting to see how they play out." Francisca said.

"Attention all…" Chi Ta said. "After some consideration…and the fact that three of our fighters come from the same world. We've decided. The next match…will be a 3 on 3 battle!" she said.

"Whoa! Squad Strike!" David said.

"Guess it shows you never know what will happen during a tournament like this. And that these refs can pick and choose any rules they want." Subaru said.

"Squad Strike?" Agursu asked.

"It's a new team based format that is made for this tournament. Fighters group up into two teams of 3 or 5 and fight in one of three formats." Sachiko said.

"There are three formats for this? Interesting?" Aoesia asked.

"Yep. The first of which is Elimination, which is inspired by the King of Fighters series, I believe." David said. "In this format, teams decide the order that their fighters have their bouts. Each bout is a separate round, and the team that defeats all of their opponents is the winner."

"Then there is Tag Team. It works the same as Elimination except it's one long fight." Leopardmon said. "When one fighter on the team is defeated, another has to jump in immediately. Like Elimination, the object is to defeat all of your opponents."

"And finally there's Best Of." Sectonia said. "All fighters fight man-to-man, and the team that wins the majority of the fights is the winner."

"Well…looks like we better get ready then. Next fight is gonna be huge." Teba said.
