Okay, this is only my second fic, so please go easy on me.

Disclaimer: Sadly, I do not own any of the characters, but I do own the plot...who knows, maybe one day I'll be JKR..damn, I wish...

They were walking around the lake. The day couldn't have been more perfect. She said she had something important to tell him. He wondered what it was.

She was not going to tell him. She couldn't. She knew him well enough to know that he would freak out. Why was life so hard?

Finally, she had had enough. She grabbed his shoulder and stopped him.

"I have to tell you something"

"What is it? Are you okay? Is your family okay? Is…"

She cut him off.

"I'm fine. Actually, maybe I'm not. Maybe I'm not because I can't stand here without going crazy. Maybe I'm not because I can't help but notice how the light makes you look so good. Maybe I'm not because I know you'll never see me that way. Maybe I'm not because I'm not beautiful. Maybe I'm not because I just realised that I'm in love with you"

And she stopped.

And put her hand over her mouth. His eyes had gone wide, and his mouth was slightly open.

She felt so stupid. Why did she have to start ranting?

Well, she thought, now he knows.

"Well, there, I've said it. What about you?"

As she said this, a tear threatened to fall.

"I…uh…I...I have to go…to…uh…quidditch practice. Yeah. Quidditch practice."

She turned.

He turned.

But a sudden impulse stopped him.

He turned back, and grabbed her hand, pulling her straight into him.

"I always have, and I always will"

And their lips met in one perfect match. It was like fireworks, sparks everywhere. They were perfect. They were one.

She broke off, and nervously chewed on her lip.

"Did you mean that?"

He looked at her for a minute. She feared that he didn't.

"I think this will answer your question"

And he pulled her back to him.

A flurry of red and gold.
