A MESSED UP DESTINY
A STAR WARS STORY
Chapter 27
Disclaimer: Disney owns everything and I make no profit from this.
Hello there everyone and welcome to chapter 27 of the story! Today's chapter picks up about an hour after the last one ended, which is presumably the time it would take for the Republic Fleet under Anakin's command to reach the Medical Station Grievous is about to attack. (I'm not very good with figuring out Star Maps since travel distance and ETA differ depending on which you use, so bear with me and pretend it takes them an hour to get there.) Anakin and Co will have to stop Grievous from destroying the medical station and destroy the Malevolence before he has a chance to escape with the ship intact, while Padme has to find a way out of captivity so the Republic can deal the final blow to the starship.
Note: Since this chapter was originally mentioned to be combined with the last one, it may turn out to be a bit a short, but rest assured, future chapters will more than make up for it. Also, sorry if I screwed up Padme's POV, I'm just not used to writing her in a solo setting.
Post Edit Note: Yes! I managed an early update! Let's go! ...Sorry, I was getting a bit excited, but yes, uploading two days early! Isn't that great for all of you guys? Because it is for me, since I have time to work on the draft for the next chapter before I leave, which is going to awesome by the way!
Anyhow…without further ado…let's dive straight in!
Battle of the Kaliida Nebula! As Republic Forces under the command of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker engage in a vicious battle with General Grievous' new flagship, the Malevolence, in a desperate attempt to defend a medical station housing thousands of injured Clone Troopers, the malicious cyborg prepares to spring a deadly trap onto the Jedi, wishing to end them once and for all. Meanwhile, Republic Senator Padme Amidala is being held captive by the CIS on board the General's Flagship, which will prevent the Republic from dealing a decisive blow against the Separatists and must escape her confines if the Republic is to win the day…
Resolute, Fighter Hangar, Anakin's point of view:
I've seldom been wrong about anything in my life, but believing that dealing with the Malevolence was going to be easy was a notion that had originated from overconfidence alone. Having fought against –and blown up- this ship before, I had been under the impression that this mission would be easy, especially since the cruiser should still be damaged from my Force Storm back in the Abregado System, hypothetically making it less of a threat for our pilots.
As it turned out, I was very, very wrong, something I realized only after I actually bothered to look at the ship our fleet was facing down mid-briefing, a move that caused me to stutter and lose my train of thought, if only for a moment. Rex looked at me strangely underneath his helmet, but no one else –not even his brothers- noticed, too focused on the ship almost four times larger than our Venator Class Star Destroyers –the newest model in Republic's Naval Engineering project-, equipped with Ion Cannons powerful enough to devastate entire fleets in seconds.
Not wanting my slip-up to be noticed by anyone else –Plo Koon especially, since I wanted to make a good impression on the Kel Dor-, I cleared my throat and started my sentence over, with a passing thought in most of the Clone's minds betraying worry over me having caught them not listening, which I was quite grateful for, even though I shouldn't be.
"As I was saying…while our capital ships are vulnerable to the enemy's attack, I believe a squad of bombers can outmaneuver their ion weapon. Our target will be the cannon itself… and the Bridge, where General Grievous resides.", I told the squadron of pilots that would be joining me on the field, Snips listening attentively from Master Koon's side, since she –along with Oddball, who had more than proven his skills earlier today- was assigned as my wingman for this mission.
"Master Koon's squadron will be joined by Master Kenobi, and Admiral Yularen will remain on the Resolute to provide instructions from the sidelines. Our target will be the Ion Cannon, which must be destroyed as quickly as possible to minimize the chance of our fleet being hit by it. Other fighter squadrons are assigned to their regular leaders, and are to defend our teams while we take out the mission objective. Any questions?", I added as the Clones listened to the plan, none of them having anything to ask or add in regards to the plan.
"In that case, all fighters are to begin attack.", ordered Master Koon, and the Clones began entering their respective fighters and bombers as I and the other Jedi mimicked them. Soon enough, I was flying again, Snips and Obi Wan by my side. It was good to be alive once more.
In the few seconds it took for Grievous to order his own fighters to attack us, the other pilots and I found time to engage in the usual banter, some of them all too eager to try and top my killstreak from last time.
"Alright boys, stay sharp! Whoever gets out of this alive doesn't have to pay for the first round of drinks when we get back to Coruscant!", I shouted excitedly over the coms, with cheering being the immediate response from all pilots involved, even those belonging to the 104th, or the 'Wolfpack' as Boost had called it earlier, as we were still in hyperspace and prepping for this op.
"And what happens if one of us tops your killstreak sir?", teased a familiar voice, belonging to Lieutenant Hawk. I smiled when I heard him speak. It had been far too long since we last flew together.
Deciding to play along for the sake of upholding morale –and making this fight more fun-, I teased him right back, expecting the appropriate response from him and the others. "If that ever happens, I'll give you unrestricted access to all the credits I own, and you won't ever have to pay for another drink!", I shouted back at Hawk, prompting more cheering and exclamations of support towards the Lieutenant from his brothers.
"Go get 'em Hawk!", yelled the voice of Broadside, a new addition to the 501st after the disaster Ryloth had been was all over and done with, and someone who was quickly becoming a favorite of all other pilots –myself included- for never backing down from a challenge, even during combat.
"Yeah! Go Hawkster!", exclaimed another voice, this time belonging to Oddball. When I asked why he wouldn't support his own wingman, he said that the prospect of free drinks was irresistible to him.
"Wipe the floor with him, Skyguy!", yelled Ahsoka, all too eager to join in on the fun and support me while she was at it.
A warning from the Force quickly made me extend a hand forwards, using Vader's favored Force Crush to decimate the first wave of incoming fighters, immediately annihilating at least four dozen of them. Returning my hand to the steering wheel, I decided to mess with Hawk one last time before things got too serious for either of us to risk losing focus.
"Already over fifty Hawk! Catch up if you can!", I shouted over coms, tuning out the loud sigh coming from Obi Wan, as well as the exclamations of 'Hey, no fair!' and 'Go Skyguy!' from Hawk and Snips respectively. We had a job to do and with a second wave of fighters approaching, it was time to get to work.
Meanwhile, Naboo Star Cruiser, Padme's point of view:
Something was certainly…off about this whole thing. First, Chancellor Palpatine had called me into his office for a private meeting at the busiest hour of the day –Wasn't he supposed to be running the government at this time?- and had handed me over a set of suspiciously specific coordinates, 'entrusting' me with a 'special diplomatic mission' that smelled far too much like a trap for my liking, but I had no choice other than to accept to risk being labeled a traitor. It was hard enough trying to express your own opinion in the Senate these days, I did not need this hanging over my head as I tried to oppose the Chancellor's ruthless political campaigns for War against the Separatists.
My ship dropped out of hyperspace and my suspicions were immediately confirmed. Either Palpatine really couldn't be trusted for anything like Ani and Master Jinn had said back on Naboo before the War, or he was proven too incompetent to lead the Republic after giving me the wrong data chip, though considering that it was the only one on his desk at the time of my arrival to his office –not to mention that I trusted Ani with my life-, it was certainly the latter. When I got back to Coruscant, Palpatine would get an earful from me, not to mention what Anakin would do if he knew I was here.
Threepio started panicking as he too noticed the enormous Starship we had exited hyperspace under, as well as the massive battle that seemed to be an offensive from the Republic. Good, at least then I'd be able to call for help. Unfortunately, my hopes went up in flames the moment Threepio started shouting out in despair, as I realized we had been caught in the ship's tractor beam.
"My lady, it appears that we are being pulled into that ship!", Threepio exclaimed and while his concern for me was both touching and appreciated, Anakin really needed to find a way to make him stop stating the obvious every time I ran into the tiniest bit of trouble.
As Threepio continued his rant about how we 'were doomed' and of how the Separatists would melt him for spare parts –they wouldn't dare if they knew which Jedi had made him- I wrestled with my ship's controls, trying to find a way out of this. The engines were in full power and for only a moment, but the ship shook violently as a Republic Fighter exploded right next to it, making me lose my grip on the controls as I face-planted to the floor. A few moments later, my ship was finally docked aboard the massive Star Cruiser and the clanking of Battle Droids could be heard outside, but I wasn't going down without a fight.
It didn't take more than a minute for me to be captured after that, since I hadn't accounted for the lightsaber-wielding cyborg that was towering over me as I was dragged to the Bridge. I had only heard a few rumors about him and even those were heavily filtered by Republic PR personnel, but I was quite sure his name was Grievous and that he was a General, known for being especially ruthless against Jedi. I could only hope that whoever was trying to put an end to him didn't allow the same for me.
Just as he seemed ready to address me, Grievous erupted into a coughing fit, from which he recovered rather quickly, but that was enough time for a B1 droid to report to him that Threepio had gotten away from their patrols. At least he was relatively safe from getting scrapped now, not that this news was much consolidation considering that alarms were beginning to blare all around me as the ship took one heavy hit after the other from the Republic's Pilots and that the entire cruiser was probably going to explode soon.
Grievous noticed this as well and after a moment of looking unsure, pressed several buttons before taking a step back grabbing me with a robotic arm, dragging me towards the console. I was momentarily confused by this, but I understood his plan when Anakin's hologram appeared from the other side of the communication line.
Molding his face into a realistic –if a bit cocky- smile, Anakin –to anyone who didn't know better- actually seemed to like the fact that Grievous had contacted him, playing the part of the confident leader, though I knew it was a front, since he had clearly seen me and was rather nervous, something I realized from the twitch of his left eyebrow. I'd first noticed that the last time he talked to Sabé –another argument about him not being stealthy enough when coming to see me-, but it was obvious if one knew where to look for it.
"General Grievous. Calling to surrender?", Anakin greeted pleasantly, as if talking to a close acquaintance instead of a sworn enemy.
The cyborg then flicked his wrist, and before I knew it, a green lightsaber was inches away from my throat, forcing me to look at the ceiling as I extended my neck upwards in order to avoid being murdered via laser sword. "It is you who will surrender Jedi! I have one of the Republic's most precious Senators at my mercy!", Grievous threatened, clearly not expecting Anakin to be unfazed by the whole thing.
As the sound of an explosion was heard in the background, Ani momentarily diverted his attention to the battle, only looking back at Grievous after making a show of decimating two Vulture Droids. "No problem General. That just means we'll have to come and get her!", he challenged, and the Separatist cyborg tried to laugh at him, only to be caught into another –rather embarrassing if the timing was considered- coughing fit.
Grievous then slammed a hand down at the console and moved his blade just a millimeter closer to my neck than it already was. Anakin, I really hope you know what you're doing… "And what's stopping me from killing her right now Jedi scum?", he asked threateningly, to which Anakin simply smiled.
"And rob yourself of the chance to claim my lightsaber? Is the Hero with No Fear too powerful for you General? Or you too much of a coward to accept a real challenge?", Ani inquired teasingly, prompting Grievous to disengage his saber and slam all four metallic arms –really, who needs four arms?- on the console, seemingly accepting the challenge set by Anakin. While I refused to be bartered as a hostage on principle, it was good to see that Ani knew how to use my situation to his advantage, therefore –for my pride's sake, though I'd never admit it- having me serve a –indirect- role in the Republic's victory.
As Grievous barged through the entrance to the Bridge and ordered for me to be taken away as he dealt with the Jedi however, I couldn't help but be afraid for my Ani…and his allies, of course. Being locked up in a cell made my situation a little more hopeless, but to my own surprise, it was Threepio who came to rescue me after the guards left me unsupervised, presumably to stop the Jedi from reaching me. After grabbing a forgotten blaster from the ground, everything seemed just a little bit brighter, though that may have just been the spark of hope that had ignited in my chest once more. No matter, it was time to find Anakin.
Meanwhile, Malevolence, Anakin's point of view:
After crashing into the Malevolence's Hangar Bay along with Obi Wan, Plo Koon and Ahsoka, who was the only one of us that landed her ship properly, I called Rex to quickly brief him and Yularen on the situation, prompting him and his brothers to have the insane idea of boarding the Star Cruiser in a Gunship! With Cody flying it! I guess Oddball's lessons must have paid off! As ridiculous and insane as it may have sounded –even by my standards, which really was saying a lot- the Clones somehow miraculously made it inside the hangar without being blown to smithereens and even Revan himself had sent me the mental equivalent of a confused shrug when they did so, exclaiming that –to his own surprise- it was all them this time.
Plo Koon couldn't have looked more stunned, Obi Wan couldn't have felt more exasperated and in that moment, I couldn't have been prouder! The boys were finally growing up! After a year of me encouraging all their crazy shenanigans, they had finally managed to top one of my insane stunts! As Rex jumped out of the Gunship, followed by Cody, Boost, Sinker and Wolfe, I gave them a salute as a means of respect, before once again focusing on finding Padme.
Her Force presence was moving all around the ship and was thus harder to locate, but my search for her came to a screeching halt when Grievous entered the Hangar, backed by two Magna Guards and well over a dozen Droidekas on each side. Suppressing a growl at seeing the scum that had held my Angel hostage, I was tempted to melt him whole until he had been reduced to liquid goo, but I stopped myself, recognizing that now was not the time to get lost in my anger.
As Obi Wan and Plo Koon engaged one Magna Guard each, Snips charged ahead and took one down in seconds, before moving on to expertly dueling the next one, with a level of skill that even I hadn't exhibited until at least seven years of training, though several other factors may have been at fault for that.
Regardless, Grievous didn't give me much time to admire how far my Padawan had come as he charged me with two ignited sabers, initiating a duel my younger self had always wanted to participate in. Blocking his attacks effortlessly, I decided to show off a little my doing so with one hand behind my back, prompting Grievous to snarl at me like a Rancor before igniting his other two blades and throwing himself at me with maximum strength and speed being put behind the move.
I managed to recover, using the same tactic I had on Cere Junda to divert his sabers to the floor and the occasional nearby crate, which I would always proceed to throw at him. He came to expect it after the second assault, but the cyborg –lacking access to the Force- still had choice but to block or cut through the crates before looking for another opening. I had to admit, fighting Grievous for the first time was both fun and terrifying, since it was only then that I realized how easily Obi Wan could have been killed by this monster during any of their meetings predating this one.
Grievous –now furious- was merciless in his assault, barely leaving me time to counter attacks, and didn't seem to be getting tired in the slightest by having to defend against any wayward strikes of mine, so I soon found myself having to use Force Speed to catch up to his four blades as I lost the upper hand on a fight I'd been so sure had already been won.
The cyborg then proceeded to use three of his blades to bat mine to the side as I backed myself into a corner, diverting my mental efforts from using Force Speed to trying not to panic as his sabers seemed to shine brighter than ever, with how close to me they were. Obi Wan noticed and threw the carcass of a Droideka at him, but he simply batted it the side, through him turning around gave me the opportunity to use another power I'd been dying to try out –and hopefully that wasn't about to become literal-, Force Slow.
As Grievous' movements became sluggish, he seemed confused and tried to turn around and face me, only to receive a saber strike across the faceplate, which –unlike with the Light Side version of the power- didn't end the effect, since it was a telepathic ability, or at least the Sith version was. The one Kestis had used operated on entirely different rules, and I wasn't going to use it in a fight when it only allowed one strike before the effect faded away.
My attack didn't kill him –thankfully, since knowing his tactics in battle gave us a massive advantage-, but it did anger him greatly, enough so that he ordered all droids in the Hangar to fire on me, which they did, the ones that hadn't been blasted by Rex and the Vode already, that is.
This served as a perfect opportunity for both a quick win against Grievous –a story that would surely entertain the boys on the Resolute- and could be a plausible excuse for Dooku to severely punish him and take him out of the fight for a week or two –assuming he was actually trying to help us-, or at least I hoped he'd able to. Sidious wasn't the easiest to fool, after all. Darth Vader had learned that lesson through pain and suffering, but to the Emperor's credit, it had stuck with the Sith Lord for a very long time, leaving its impact on him even now.
Seeing this opportunity for the sheer potential harm it could do to the 'Good General' and CIS morale from a more generic standpoint, I focused on the warmth offered by the Light Side of the Force, calming my mind and shedding all doubts -since one could only do or do not, there was no try- as I concentrated my efforts into absorbing the energy blasts into my hands. It worked, and most of the Droidekas stopped firing, either having been shot by the Clones or cut down by the other Jedi as the energy began to burn in my palms.
I had to release it soon, and Grievous was the perfect target to all this energy to be directed to, seeing as an idea regarding the Malevolence just popped into my head, inspired Revan's latest lesson on how to turn your enemies into unwilling allies via manipulations, and while I was eager to try the technique at some point in the near future –preferably on an irritating politician-, it had made me –momentarily, since I didn't have much time to spare- think about how good it would be to have this ship on our side in case we needed it someday, so a new plan was formed.
Unleashing the absorbed energy into a massive Force Push, I sent Grievous flying as he desperately tried to cling onto something, anything with his claw-like legs and arms, but failed as he found himself being flung through the Hangar wall and ending up in the next one over, crashing into a leftover Hyena Bomber that for some reason hadn't activated when the command was given. It didn't matter anyways. What was important was that Grievous was incapacitated and that we had to find Padme, so I quickly collected myself –and the General's four lightsabers, as memoirs of this victory- before rushing off to find my wife-err…girlfriend and my Protocol Droid.
Obi Wan and Master Koon followed closely behind, tailed by Ahsoka and the others until we reached the Bridge, where Padme had clearly been busy if the still-smoking heads of five Magna Guards, as well as about a dozen B1s and eight B2s littered the floor, Padme herself working on the Navigation Controls of the ship, and I saw that she had the same idea as me the first time we destroyed this Starship, but I moved to stop her, exclaiming that we wouldn't have time to get off safely if we crashed it into the nearby moon and inputting coordinates for the Hyperdrive, telling everyone that I'd sent it flying into a nearby sun.
My Angel and the others agreed with no hesitation, missing the mischievous look Obi Wan sent me as I filled him on my plan to save this ship in case of emergency instead of destroying it through our Force Bond, with him wanting to focus on the fact that Dooku had seemingly actually agreed to help us, to which I responded that I'd fil him in on that later.
Setting the Hyperdrive to take this ship into the Unknown Regions, at specific coordinates where Dooku would be able to find it later –and I was hopeful about him, since there had been no report of an attack on the Republic Convoy ferrying medical supplies and doctors near Naboo this time, which was a good sign for the future- I instructed everyone to rush back to the Hangar and we all boarded the Gunship and Starfighters, with me entrusting Padme's safety to Cody, since he would the one flying them out of there.
Thankfully, our return trip to the Resolute was completely uneventful and our team, as exhausted as we all were –for each our own reasons- set coordinates for Coruscant as I dragged Padme aside, letting Obi Wan and Ahsoka handle the mission report and post-battle festivities respectively, with Snips immediately begging the story of how I almost killed General Grievous, who had fled on his personal fighter, the Soulless One while we had gone to get my Angel from the 'Good General', as Obi Wan had often called him, even nowadays sometimes.
As the door to my quarters behind us closed, I sat down on the bed next to Padme, who had already begun telling me about the trap Sidious had sent her into, but I was forced to interrupt her, since there was something she needed to know now that we were going back to Coruscant.
"Um…Angel?", I interrupted her, making her look at me with worry. "I have to tell you something…"
And…scene! There you have it everyone, chapter 27 of A Messed Up Destiny! Sorry if the ending seemed a bit rushed, but I haven't slept in 22 hours and have been going through notes/drafts and writing for the past four and a half with how many adjustments I had to make by splitting the last chapter in two, so it's all you got until I find the time to (maybe) rework it, though I honestly don't think it necessary. It does the job, if I bit too fast, and I have an entire upcoming Arc to worry about, so it'll probably stay the same for a while.
Anyways, onto our regularly scheduled exposition:
Firstly, this chapter in general. Yeah, this might seem a bit odd, but hear me out. This chapter was a bit more light hearted and we didn't get to see Anakin's darker side at since the moment where Padme is threatened in from her POV and he resists the Dark Side's pull when fighting Grievous. It was generally made to show that there is still a lot of Light in the Chosen One and to contrast later chapters which will be a lot darker in tone…Whops! That was a spoiler wasn't it?
Secondly, Anakin and the Clones. I feel like the dynamics between a lot of the Clones (other than Rex, Cody and other Commanders) and their Jedi Generals is kinda…overlooked in The Clone Wars. I get that they did their best to include these moments, but since the story didn't focus on the GAR as a wider organization too much and tended to scale things down to either a few small groups of Clones for each Battalion or Domino Squad for some episodes, there were too little of them in my opinion. Granted, that screen time was used for a lot more amazing things like the Maul episodes, Grievous vs Kenobi duels, the Satine x Obi Wan plot, the Mortis Arc etc. but this…absence of Clone/Jedi moments outside the established groups is what made me want to include the banter right before the Naval Battle begins, so that all the troopers can have some time to shine, especially Hawk, who I brought back for another debut after the Battle of Teth in Raging Wars (side story, for those who don't know).
Generally, I loved moments where Jedi (mostly Anakin) have bonding moments with their Clone Troops, so I did my best to establish a dynamic of trust and with a bit of humor and banter thrown into the mix between Anakin and the other pilots, since it's totally within his character to make friends with as many of his men as possible, especially when they have something like a love of flying to bond over. Except more of these moments to come in the future.
Thirdly, Anakin vs Grievous. This one is…interesting, especially considering Anakin (or literally any other Jedi ever) could have theoretically just Force Chocked the cyborg General at any time, which is why it should be weird that Anakin almost loses. But…it's not. I actually give a bit of context as to why that doesn't happen here or in any other Star Wars Media (2003 Clone Wars is excluded since Windu didn't actually kill grievous with that Force Crush). It's because Grievous as a whole, from appearance to mannerisms to tactics during duels is made to inspire fear in his enemies. Dooku and Sidious have done this on purpose, knowing that such emotions could prevent a Jedi from using the Force against Grievous because the Jedi in question wouldn't be able to focus on their connection to the Force, and thus give Grievous the advantage in a fight.
And while Anakin is NOT afraid of Grievous here, it's his personal imbalance that's the real threat and not the lightsaber-wielding maniac since, as we all saw, when Anakin finally got a grip on his emotions and focused he was able to not only make the Jedi Killer vulnerable, but also nearly killed him in a single attack.
It's not like he couldn't have just used the Dark Side and snap the cyborg's neck, it's that he chooses not to fall prey to his hate and anger towards Grievous as an individual and he's only able to defeat him when he uses the Dark and Light Sides of the Force together. Notice how Anakin makes it a point to specify which version of Force Slow he's using and that it's the Sith version that he attacks Grievous with, before using Tutaminis, a Jedi power used by Master Yoda in AOTC and ROTS against Dooku and Palpatine. It's a small example of something that will become a lot more prominent in the story in the future, the idea that to achieve his true potential, Anakin has to balance Light and Dark, hence the title Revan bestowed upon him in chapter 19, "Anakin Skywalker, Lord of Balance".
Lastly, the Malevolence and Coruscant. I'll begin by saying that by now destroying this terrifying superweapon Anakin is putting a lot of trust in Dooku to do the right thing and not just use it for his own purposes. This is him taking a gamble, as he has done before by letting Ventress and Dooku leave unscathed in "Raging Wars", for example. He'll be doing this quite a bit in the future, and the Malevolence will return sometime in the future, but saying anything more would be a spoiler so…
As for Coruscant, I'm going to be shaking things up with the first couple chapters revolving around this Arc. It's actually going to take a bunch of chapters to finish, but it's going to be awesome. So, the first thing our heroes will focus on is figuring out what in the Sith Hells happened to Siri, because the Council wrote her off as dead, but Anakin seems to think that she is still alive.
This will tie in to the main point of the Coruscant Arc, the Anakin vs Palpatine moments. And yes, I specifically say "Palpatine" here because Anakin will be working to undermine Sidious in a way I'm not sure any of you will expect, so I'm going to keep you in suspense regarding that for now, but we're going to see a lot more of Sidious beyond him being this Puppet Master who pulls strings from the shadows. He'll still be doing that of course, but we'll also be getting little clues as to what his plans are from his civilian persona, Chancellor Palpatine.
Personally, I'm very excited to share this part of the story with you, since this is where a lot of the changes start happening and the plot becomes more complex than "Formerly Vader kicks Separatist ass and Sidious is pissed about it" and where a lot of the stuff from the side stories will come into play (like Dooku trying to help our heroes from this point onwards happening because of his encounters with Anakin and Qui Gon in "Raging Wars" and "In the Grip of a Tyrant", for an example that's already happened). And other main characters like Obi Wan and Padme will be getting their own chapters, completely devoted to developing their characters more or their relationships with other characters, instead of just having Anakin be the narrator all the time. He'll still be our main narrator, but I'm super happy to be giving other characters more screen time, and don't even get me started on the topic of Darth Vader! …And another spoiler! Oh well, I'm sure you guys don't mind a bit of hype!
And one last thing! These past three chapters (25-27) have already given you all the plotline for the Coruscant Arc, so if you guys look carefully you'll certainly be able to piece things together. The Force is with you after all, and sometimes, trust in the Force is all we really need.
Okay, okay, rambling is over. Summary for the next chapter is below, plus the obligatory outro for all chapters I write.
Next time: Having survived a harrowing encounter with the Separatist High General, Grievous, Anakin Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi return to Coruscant to investigate the mysterious disappearance and possible death of Jedi Knight Siri Tachi, Kenobi's lover and confidant. Meanwhile, Dark Forces work in the shadows to undermine the Jedi's influence in the investigation, and the trail of clues might lead them into uncovering a new, terrifying foe…
That's all for now everyone! Reviews are always welcome, whether it be to ask question or to chat, and I'll see you all next chapter, but until then, May the Force be with you!
