Summary: Happily Ever After is never what you think it will be...
Prologue
It started with the fatal words, Once upon a time...like all the fairytales do. But this tale had been different...a poor duck fell in love with a prince...or did she? True she got back the pieces of the Princes heart, but she let the Villainess have the Prince in the end. The Storyteller had twisted the tale so much up was down and down was up, good was bad and evil was good. The poor duck was so confused! In the end the Knight who was the enemy became a friend and much more to the little duck, who wasn't just a duck but a Princess. The Princess Tutu. But sadly in that tale she was but a secondary character and her fate a tragic one.
So as the newly returned duck, a princess no more, swam in her lake, the wheel of destiny began to turn. The duck shivered on the water when she heard the laughter of the Storyteller...
Chapter One...
In a faraway land a castle stood over looking a kingdom, the people were happy that there Prince, now King had returned to them and with a Queen. A beautiful raven-haired Queen that loved to dance with her King. In the tallest tower of the castle, standing by the window looking out over the happy kingdom was the Queen, who was worried about an old friend.
'Six months, six months without any word from him' thought Rue.
She and Mythos had left the School and the small town of Kinkan behind, but they had made Fakir promise to write them. Fakir did so; his letters were entertaining to her and Mythos and had brought them news of their friends and the town's people. Fakir's last letter had been worrisome though. He had sound so lonely and sad. Then the letters stopped all together.
"Rue?" came the soft voice of her King. She turned to face the sliver haired boy.
It was time to tell her husband that they had to return to where it started.
Chapter Two...
There weeks later Rue and Mythos were back at the Ballet School. Today had been their first day back. They had not seen Fakir. They sat by the large fountain in the school's courtyard eating lunch, when Lillie and Pipe walked by talking to each other.
"I just don't understand!" Cried Lillie as she stopped suddenly.
"Don't understand what?" asked Pipe.
"Why Duck is so different, she doesn't do any of those cute things anymore." Lillie said with a slight pout.
"What are you talking about?" Pipe asked with a frown.
" Duck is never late for class anymore, she was always late before..."
"Yah, and Mr. Cat was always threatening marriage to her maybe she just got tired of that."
" But she doesn't get happy or sad about things anymore. And that monotone she speaks in is eerie, Pipe, even you have to admit that."
Pipe looked at her friend, Lillie had a small crush on Duck that was no secret to anyone but Duck. So it was no surprise to her at what Lillie said next.
" It's all Fakir's fault! I know it! He's the reason Duck's now in the Advance Class."
"...And Duck's beautiful dancing had nothing to do with it." Pipe muttered then thought a moment. " Fakir has been abit overprotective of Duck since she came back."
Lillie snorted. " A bit...try obsessive."
A bell rung in the distant and Pipe grabbed Lillie's arm pulling her toward the school muttering that they were going to be late.
Rue and Mythos exchanged a long look things were getting interesting now.
