It suddenly hit me that Draco and I would be sharing a room for the next week and I swallowed hard.
He looked equally as nervous as he asked, "Shall we go over the profiles so we are well versed on our personas? Then we can grab dinner at the restaurant and make sure we are seen."
We spent some time sitting at the dining room table reviewing our notes. They are detailed and give us tips on how public the couple is with their affections, common phrases they use, examples of body language, the works. It also gives us information on the relationship as well as family members and pictures of known associates.
Draco smirks as he looks up at me. "So, do you mind playing a newlywed couple for the next week?"
My face flushes. "No. I'm pretty smitten with you as it is so I imagine there won't be much acting required."
We had been at it several hours already and had taken the polyjuice reversal (a recipe only the auror department had access to). Draco got up and approached me. One hand rested on either side of my armrest after he pulled me away from the table to face him. With my past, it would have been easy to feel caged in, but my heart was racing in excitement, not fear.
"I'm pretty smitten with you as well Ms. Granger." He leaned down and pressed a lingering kiss to my lips.
I returned the action with fervor, forgetting the papers on my lap and allowing them to slip to the floor.
When he finally pulled away, Draco kneeled in front of me so he was eye level. "I know we're here for work, but I have to admit that being away with you for a week is a definite perk. I've grown quite attached to you already."
I bit my lower lip, afraid that my next confession could potentially make things awkward. "Draco, I know we've been taking it slow, but I could easily see myself falling in love with you."
"Sweetheart, I'm already there. You have my heart and more. Feel free to keep it forever."
My own heart swelled with happiness. This wasn't something I had expected when Draco became my partner all those months ago, but we had certainly grown together.
With a wave of my hands, I sent the fallen papers to a neat stack on the table as I stood, taking Draco with me. Our mouths crashed again as I tried to convey through my actions just how much he means to me.
His hands found my lips and he began pushing me back towards the bed. I allowed him to lead me and when the bed hit my legs, he leaned me gently backwards. The weight of his body was welcome and I found myself whimpering as he kissed up and down my neck before finally settling on my lips again.
When he untucked my blouse from my skirt and his skin found mine it was almost too much. I was lost in sensation as his hand rose, his fingers brushing the underside of my breasts in the most tantalizing way. I wanted more and I wanted it right now.
Just as I was about to say so, an alarm went off on Draco's wand. He pulled away and leaned his forehead against mine. "Damnit. We have dinner reservations to get ready for."
I groaned along with him. "I mean, do we really have to eat at the restaurant?" It wasn't really a question. Others would be starting to arrive for the festivities this week and being this was the suggested resort and the only wizarding option nearby, most would be staying here. We couldn't afford to waste an opportunity to scout out the restaurant.
"Come on, darling. Let's get changed."
I allowed him to help me up and headed towards the large closet that held a selection of clothing much bigger than I would have suspected. "What's the dress code for a dinner in a posh French resort?"
Draco scanned through the wardrobe. "France is definitely still ahead of London for clothing. They mainly wear muggle attire. This is a nice place. If you show up in anything less than a dress and heels, we'll be turned away. I'll be expected to wear a jacket, though a tie is optional."
Nodding, I began to sift through my options. I settled on a blush dress with a purple floral print. It had a wrap top with a tie around the waist and a flowy skirt with a high low hem. It looked semi formal enough to wear to a posh restaurant without being overly formal.
I went into the bathroom to change while Draco did the same in the bedroom. As I dressed I gave a quick wave of my wand to transform my hair into a somewhat elegant low bun that would fancy up the dress a bit as well as some makeup that would still look good with my tones after I took the polyjuice. To finish off the look I grabbed some nude stilettos. All in all, I thought I looked pretty good for a newlywed on her honeymoon headed off to dinner with her new husband.
When I was finished, I exited and laid eyes on Draco. He hadn't taken his polyjuice yet either and looked absolutely delectable. His short, light blonde hair was still ruffled from where my hands threaded through it earlier. He had on black slacks with a pressed white oxford that had the top two buttons undone. Over it, he had a formal black suit jacket. All of our clothing had a special tailoring charm on them to accommodate our changes and as a result the suit looked made for him. It was all I could do to prevent myself from saying to hell with work and dragging him back to the bed.
I don't know if it was his earlier admission of love, or if it was being away together, but my hormones were on overdrive and it didn't look like he was any less effected.
Draco rubbed his chin in approval. "You look amazing." He came over and kissed me hard. "There, now no one will doubt how we've been spending our time since arriving."
I looked in the mirror. My lips were red and swollen and it caused a smile as I reach out to trace them.
"Definitely not. Are you ready to take the potion?"
He nodded. We clinked vials and knocked them back together. The taste was still foul, but I was glad that over the years the Auror department had modified the potion to negate the nauseating side effects. The change was still unpleasant, but that I could deal with it.
Within a minute, our change was complete. Draco, or should I say Giovanni, held out his arm. "Shall we?"
"Of course, darling. Please, lead the way." My Italian accent was nearly as good as his.
