We spent the next several hours going over our records of our time in France. The conversations we heard, those we suspected were already involved in some dark arts, those we could trace back directly to Lestrange and the events in the drawing room. Our memories were taken as well to be put on file as visual evidence.

We were finally left alone in our office to put away the last of our things.

"Are you ready?"

I glanced around one more time. "Yeah. I've got everything I need."

"Good. I know we've been together nonstop the last week, but can I persuade you to come home with me?"

Though he was right about our close proximity and lack of alone time while we were undercover, I definitely hadn't tired of the man before me. I tried not to think too hard about what that might mean. "As long as I get that bath. Oh, and no work talk!"

"Deal."

We gathered the rest of our things and after a quick stop at my house for a few necessities, we were settling in at Draco's.

The house was quiet, but it was welcome. "I can't believe we have three days off."

Draco smirked and wrapped his arms around my waist. "There's no one else I'd like to spend that time with. Now, I think you said you'd like a bath? I'll go get one started for you."

A bath was exactly what I needed. The duel, while short lived, was still intense. Fighting in four-inch heels was never an easy task and the effort of the concentration mixed with the retelling of information after always left me a bit drained when I finally had a chance to sit down.

At this point, I was feeling quite comfortable in Draco's home. While he ran the bath, I began to put a few of my things away and grabbed what I would need for when I was finished.

Heading to the bathroom, Draco met me outside the door. "You're all set, darling."

I peeked inside. There was a lovely aroma of bath oils and several candles had been lit around the oversized tub. Bubbles filled the surface and I wanted nothing more than to sink below them.

"I'll just get you a glass of wine then I'll leave you be. Oh, and feel free to grab a book if you'd like." He nodded in the direction of his several bookshelves that were full enough to rival my own collection.

I bit my lip as I decided on my next move. We'd danced around this long enough and I was done waiting. "Screw the book. Better make it two glasses." And at that, I began to undress.

Draco swallowed hard as his eyes followed my movement. He quickly summoned the glasses and wine and caught up to my level of undress quite proficiently.

The wine was poured, music was softly playing, and we were both anxious to get in. Of course, just as we were about to enter the bathroom, there was a pop of apparition and a panicked voice.

"Draco? Draco? Are you here?"

The voice was coming closer and we just barely had time for Draco to pull my chest close to his and wrap a towel around our waist before the intruder came barging into the bedroom.

"Oh, thank goodness!"

"Mother! What on Earth are you doing here?"

I buried my face further into Draco's chest. Narcissa didn't seem to notice our state of undress.

"I was so worried! I came looking for you earlier this week after you didn't respond to my dinner invitation. When I couldn't find you, I had to go to the Ministry and ask Mr. Potter if you had reported to work. He said you were undercover and couldn't say anymore. It's been horrible waiting for word on if you were ok. Then the evening Prophet came tonight and the front page was blasted with a picture of you and Hermione arresting Roldolphus Lestrange! My goodness, my heart is fluttering even now at the thought of you getting that close to that vile man."

Draco was clearly trying to keep his cool and be patient with his mother, but I could see his jaw muscles working. "I'm sorry to have caused you any strife. Undercover comes with the job, mum, you know this."

He was interrupted before he could continue. "Oh, I know, but when you were in France, I never knew about it! Now that you're back and I couldn't reach you I thought something terrible had happened!"

"Everyone is clearly fine, but if you'll excuse us, now isn't a great time for us to be entertaining guests."

It was then that Narcissa realized what she had walked in on. I'm not sure whose face was redder, mine, or hers.

"Oh, yes. I see now I'm intruding. Carry on, but Draco, please come see me when you have a moment." She rushed for the door and with a pop we were left alone once again.

"I can't believe that just happened. What a way to ruin the mood."

Draco dropped the towel. "Oh no Ms. Granger. I don't care if a herd of hippogriffs comes stomping through here. We are going to continue to enjoy our evening. The bath has a charm on it so the water will still be hot. Let's relax those tired muscles."

And he was right. My body was achy and the bath looked delightful. Draco slipped in first. The back of the oversized tub had a built-in pillow and back rest so it was quite comfortable to slip in in front of him.

We had seen each other naked and messed around plenty of times in the last week and I was feeling very comfortable with him, but there was a different level of intimacy here. As his arms wrapped around my naked body, I allowed myself to settle my weight against his chest, enjoying the feeling of being close.

It was over an hour of sipping wine and quietly sharing little things about ourselves with each other before we finally got out of the tub. Thoughts of Narcissa were nowhere to be found as we slowly made our way to the bedroom.

While I thought I would be nervous our first time together, I was pleasantly surprised that I was completely at ease. Draco made me feel comfortable and confident in a way that no one else ever had. Being with him was like a dream. Our movements were slow and tender. We took time to enjoy every moment with no need to feel rushed. There was no doubt in my mind that I would never forget this evening. We were able to completely put everything else out of our minds and simply connect as one. The experience was overwhelming in the best possible way and I found a few tears escaping down my cheeks as we finished.

"Hey, did I hurt you? Is everything ok?"

I felt terrible for the concern on Draco's face and wanted desperately to erase it. "No sweetheart. Everything is absolutely perfect. I just am feeling so much love for you right now it kind of came spilling out."

His expression morphed into a beaming smile. "Yeah, that was indescribable."

He pulled out of me and did a quick cleansing spell before pulling me onto his chest. No more words were spoken that night, we simply drifted off into the most relaxed and peaceful sleep either of us had experienced in a long time.
