At the Chirohiro residence, Ginger finished up her homework. She looked outside and it was raining outside. She was disappointed that she and some of the contestants were supposed to film on the beach today. Hone was watching Maho Mushi when she spotted her sister sad, which she liked the most. "Looks like your voyage to Clearwater Beach has been cancelled."
"Hone!" Ginger growled. "This is for 'Let's All Dance Until We're Sick'."
"Oh, yeah," Hone recalled. "That dumb dance show you posers are on."
"How come you didn't audition for musical guest?" Ginger asked.
"Because Big G thinks we're gross and most of the Board of Directors thought it might be a lame-o idea to let me and my crew be on the show," Hone explained.
"Yeah," Ginger replied. "You guys are scalawags."
"Shut up, cabin dweeb," Hone growled, "or else you'll walk the plank."
As they were both arguing and shouting, their mother came in completely annoyed. "Girls!" she shouted. "I'm trying to pay some online bills and - ugh. Ginger, Mr. Dorough is on the phone for you."
Ginger felt much better because her big brother figure was calling her.
"Sweet D?" Hone asked. "Why can't he change his name to Sour D?"
On the phone, Howie D told Ginger that he was taking the contestants to the new Leoworth Shore: Indoor Water Park for Beach Week and Nature Week filming. Ginger thought it was a great rainy day trip, and the best part - they were open 24 hours.

10 minutes later, she arrived from her bicycle towards the park. "Howie!" she shouted as she hugged her soggy friend.
After they hugged, Ginger couldn't help but notice the exterior looking like something from the popular '90s cartoon, "Mermaid Battle Squadron."
"You haven't seen anything yet," Howie D said as he covered her eyes with his hands.
Inside, he removed his hands from her eyes, and Ginger was surprised to see a replica of New Nautica. She recalled from the cartoons when she was a kid that Neptuna ruled New Nautica and saved the oceans from pollutions. The other members included Neptuna's sister Trittina, royal dresser Amphitrina, lady-in-waiting Poseidawn, twins minstrels Anukai and Nephthai, page girl Gangabby, and her best friend Mizuchaka. All of them wore princess-mermaid apparel, and they each had a triton.
"This is amazing!" exclaimed Ginger. "I never thought my favorite superhero team would be put into an amusement park!"
After they got changed into their swim apparel, they started taking a tour of the amusement park, rode the rides, and documented the importance of helping the waters.
But little did they know, Island of the Black Spot had arrived to crash the grand opening day. "Alright, me hearties," said Hone. "I lied to my mom that I'm off to the library to study, but we're crashing this mermaid amusement park to show that Island of the Black Spot is the best band ever."
"Aye, aye, Captain!" shouted her crew.

Inside, Ginger was eating her Gabgabby Cherry ice cream when she spotted Selah eating from the kart. Luckily, the others thought that she was just a mascot. By a map, Selah explained that she'd been wanting to try all their ice cream flavors here because she heard that they're all organic.
"Of course they're organic," replied Ginger. "Neptuna's Wisdom Wave 14: Sometimes, we gotta try organic for a current change. Man, Jane Lynch did a good job voicing her."
Howie D was coming in with a Mizuchaka chocolate ice cream when he gave Selah a Coralarry cookies and cream cone. Selah ate the whole cone in one bite. "Yummy," she said.
"I figure you needed one," Howie D explained.
"Oh, Howie," replied Selah as she hugged him. "You are the nice one of the Backstreet Boys."
"Easy now," Howie D said as he pushed Selah away. "I already have a girlfriend, and I don't wanna make Leigh jealous."
"Didn't she design your website?" asked Ginger.
"She did," Howie D replied.
"You just got to get it, lover boy, and I'd do anything to help you," replied Selah.
"Hey," recalled Howie D. "Those were three of our first songs."
"Faith just showed me some videos of your early appearances on TV," Ginger whispered. "And of course you booked your first gig at SeaWorld in Orlando."
"They said that we were the newest New Kids on the Block," Howie D explained. "And no mean to be prideful, but we broke their record."
Suddenly, the lights were going crazy. "Ahoy, my hearties!" shouted Hone. "This is Captain Hone of Island of the Black Spot, and we're here to give you the shape of our hearts!"
Loudly, they played "Shape of My Heart" in a heavy metal version. Ginger was petrified because her big sister was making a fool of herself as the crew of Leoworth Shore didn't remember booking a pirate band for the amusement park, but were crossed of them ruining the opening day.
To avoid embarrassment, they decided to go to the gift shop. Howie D got some oriental Ebisam silk PJs. Ginger remembered that Ebisam was Gabgabby's older brother. After he purchased the pajamas, he started going around videotaping the contestants shopping for what to give to a local rec center. He explained to Ginger that this was a good way that a LADUWS contestant could think of others first.
As he was filming Matteo purchasing a "Mermaid Battle Squadron Vegetarian Cookbook," he spotted an African-American business couple with undersea ties and MBS pins. With one quick look, Ginger immediately recognized the couple. "Your Amiyah and Nathanael Leoworth," she recalled as she walked up to them, "creators of 'Mermaid Battle Squadron'."
"That's us," Amiyah replied. "And you must be Ginger Chirohiro from Orlando, Florida, the one who writes about Gabgabby's Dolphin Dynamite Power and our third eldest daughters Amina's pen pal.
"That's me," replied Ginger excitedly. "Is she here?"
"Of course," replied Nathaneal. "She's at the Coralarry Day Care playing Gubby, Gubby, Cod with the other little kids."

At the Coralarry Day Care, an African-American 14-year-old girl was playing Gubby, Gubby, Cod with her three younger sisters and a few other kids at the daycare. As the girl was about to say Cod, Howie D caught up and said it.
The girl said, "Looks like you mastered our version of 'Duck, Duck, Goose'."
"Amina!" shouted the girl's 11-year-old sister, Rachelle. "That's Howie D of the Backstreet Boys. He's sweet as Gabgabby cherries."
"I heard their latest hit, 'Drowning'!" shouted Amina's youngest sister at 8, Ariyah. "Daddy should use that for the next episode."
"You gotta ask our record company's permission first for legal rights," Howie D replied. "That's the way it is."
As all the kids in the daycare started adoring Howie D, a 17-year-old African-American teenager was disgusted. She was Amina's older sister Hallie, who was more interested in being MBS's spokesmodel. Elliana walked up to her and said, "Disgusted by Gubgabby and Mizuchaka."
"The was only meant for little kids," Hallie explained. "But big kids wanted them too."

After Howie D, Amina, and Ginger left the daycare. They saw a strange toymaker giving out toys that looked exactly like Zallegrean bounty hunters. Suddenly, they started sensing danger. Howie D could sense that the toymaker was a Zallegrean. He and Ginger tried to get to him, but they were blocked by crazy Backstreet fans. Amina was doing some karate skills keep the fans from going mad. "Did I forget to mention I took karate lessons?" she explained.
"So does my friend Jessie," replied Ginger.
"You guys talk to the strange toymaker," Amina said to her friends. "I'm going to tell my dad about these weird toys."

Later, they arrived in the storage room to find the same toymaker rigging the toys. "Thanks to these Zallegrean toys," she said evilly, "those gullible human beings will be hypnotized into flooding the planet. As those Backstreet bums said, "Keep drowning in your sorrows."
"Actually," corrected Howie D, "It's 'Keep drowning in your love."
"Heya, kids!" shouted the evil toy-maker. "I'm Zutton, a toy-making bounty hunter sent to destroy this planet."
"Dude," Howie D said, "you look like a rejected Justice Friends villain."
"I remember Comrad Red," recalled Zutton. "I tried to get into his team and to share information from the Zallegro Galaxy, but he won't let me in after my dollies attacked him."
Howie D, Ginger, and Selah decided to give the toymaker a new toy test.
Backstreet's Back Alright
Ruby found some fortune bottles. She remembered them from the episode where they went to the South China Sea to stop that oil spill. She opened the bottle and read the message.
Having the high notes couls sooth the voices.
"Illusioners" shouted Rubyhane, "Sing your high notes!"
With one high note, Zutton became soothed by his singing. On the ground, Rubyhane spun the bottle and kicked it towards Zutton.
"I can't believe these still work," Rubyhane said. "Every time I get an item from 'Mermaid Battle Squadron', I read all their fortunes and they work."
"These toys sure are unbreakable," Illusioner replied. Then he got an idea. He made an illusion of him as Ebisam while he turned Rubyhane into Gabgabby. It was so real, Zutton thought it was the real thing. He begged for an autograph, but Rubyhane placed fairy dust on him and said, "At least he won't make any more of those toys for now."
"You're right," Rubyhane replied. "We need to change them into something else so they won't hurt any more good people."
With one snap, she turned them into sea griffins. Selah was happy because Ginger used her creativity to make some sea griffins.

Later as they arrived back to the main pool, they arrived to find Island of the Black Spot being pelted by bounty hunter toys. Within one three seconds, Rubyhane took all the bounty hunter toys, turned them into sea-griffin figures, and she and Illusioner turned back into superheroes.
"Superheroes always reuse things," explained Ginger. "It shows resourcefulness."
"That's right," Howie D replied.
As Island of the Black Spot got out of the way, they spotted Ginger with the toys. "You're playing with those lame-o griffin toys," Hone growled.
"Their called sea griffins," Amina explained as she came in. "One time she wrote to me about having them in one episode of 'Mermaid Battle Squadron'."
"I remember 'Call of the Sea Griffins'. That's where Gabgabby and her brother Ebisam go to The English Channel to find a rare sea species," recalled Ginger. "Besides, Mom is going to be mad you sabotaged the grand opening day of Leoworth Shore."
"Mom doesn't have to know," Hone boasted.
"Or does she?" growled Mrs. Chirohiro from behind. "I got a call from one of your pirate crew about all this."
"I told Cabin Boy Calvin not to call my mom during a booing session," groaned Hone to herself.
As Mrs. Chirohiro dragged her eldest daughter to their car, Howie D and Ginger decided to have some fun.

During the remainder, Howie D, Ginger, and Amina rode the Bizarre Depth water slide, rode the Expedition of Rain coaster, and took a tour of Poseidawn's River Mansion. Howie D was delighted by Ginger's company because he hated being alone.
"Don't you remember the first time you sang in high notes?" asked Ginger.
"I remember being on my grandparents' bed singing 'Baby Face' loudly," recalled Howie D, "and I was only three at the time."
"For me," replied Ginger replied, "I was five years old, and it was karaoke night at The Tiki Hut. I was singing the 'Mermaid Battle Squadron' theme song when everyone noticed how adorable my voice was. Hone, on the other hand, was repulsed."
"As for me," replied Amina, "Mom and Dad wanted to do an episode where Gubgabby was performing Queen Neptuna's birthday. Unfortunately, the previous actress when through puberty and signed a deal to do the 'Rainbow Monkey Cookie Castle Movie'. So they figured I should be the new Gubgabby."
"That's right," recalled Ginger. "You're the second actress to play her."
"Since we did so much giving away the free sea griffins," Howie D suggested, "maybe you and your sisters should come to the season-1 finale of LADUWS this June."
"Rachelle and Ariyah always wanted to go there," replied Amina. "So, yes."

Back home later on, Hone was grounded for a week for sabotaging a grand opening ceremony. For her first punishment errand, she had to clean up the kitchen all by herself.
In the living room, Ginger was watching "Mermaid Battle Squadron" and was delighted that Neptuna stopped Denial Diver from poaching whales. During the credits, she looked at Hone and smiled with delight, because her big sister got what she deserved for being a stage hog.
