Place: The Police Captain's office
James (walking into his boss' office): Sir, I have received your message.
The Captain (reviewing the murder case file): I recall you were working on the Myles Dyson Murder Case.
James: Yes. Is there any new updates with the case?
The Captain (showing The Reese Brothers' mugshot photos to James): Their names are Derek and Kyle Reese. They are brothers. Derek is an alcoholic and Kyle is a psychopath. They are Sarah Connor's associates. They are or are not connected to Myles' death.
James: Kyle Reese is actually Sarah's husband and John's dad.
The Captain: How do you know those facts?
James: You allowed me to communicate with them. We have a special deal with Sarah.
The Captain: Oh I remember now
James: Do you have a new assignment for me?
The Captain: No. I want you to keep a close eye on Sarah and her family.
James: I will, Sir
The Captain: I can sense that you have a crush on Sarah. Whatever you do, please don't fall in love with her.
James (somewhat lying): I will, Sir
(James steps outside to get some air. A intoxicated Derek Reese stops by the police station.)
James (appalled): What the hell, Derek?
Derek (somewhat clear minded): My brother is surely lit. He has been creating drama at our house. I had to get out of that house. Sarah needs your help.
James: Sarah didn't have to send you to me. She should've called me or texted me.
Derek: My brother has Sarah, John, and the machine all tied up in the basement. He is planning to set them on fire.
James (helping Derek into a nearby cab): Lets go to your house
Scene: The Connor Reese house
Situation: Kyle's psychological breakdown- a domestic violence dispute-James' big heroic moment (rescuing Sarah, John, and Cameron). Derek and Kyle sought professional help for their issues.
