At Sally Ride Middle School, the girls were in the courtyard finishing up their homework when they spotted The Backstreet Boys by their Hover Cycles. While they were riding the roads, Selah joined in. "This is going to be a great day," exclaimed Selah.
"We'll be giving the kids for the upcoming reality show DJ Rise's Soundbooth a tour of Studio 25" Howie D explained.
"Isn't that one of the summer shows" asked Dorothy.
"It's a good thing we'll be relaxing in the summer and winter" recalled Ginger "And do the dancing in spring and fall."
"Plus Cristian and Zanell want us to learn something about these kids," said Nick, "Something about super kids."
By the time they got to Studio 25, Nadine got out a drawing of a school logo.
Griffin Academy of Superheroes
On the symbol, it had a star, a blue flower, the letters GAS on the bottom and a griffin.
"That griffin at the bottom" said Selah, "That's me"
"Selah's the mascot" Nadine replied, "We figure that when you guys get your school diplomas, we could use ones with school logos."
"Gas" asked A. J "I hope you don't eat too many beans"
"Enough joking around" Faith replied, "We need to meet Cristian and Zanell at the LADUWS set."
"And don't worry about the dancers" informed Kevin, "Sarai is the substitute choreographer for this session."
As they got onto the set of LADUWS, they saw Zanell telling the kids the story of Cinderstella when Brysen looked up, "Hey look Bwayden" shouted Brysen, "It's The Backstweet boys."
Quickly, Brysen rushed up to Kevin and hugged him, "Aren't you a hugger."
"Forgive my little brother" Brayden said as grabbed Brysen, "He loves hugging new friends."
"I'm a huggew" Brysen admitted, "I'm also an awtist and an ukulele playew"
Javion did some cartwheels and jumped onto Howie D, "I'm Javion" he greeted, "I'm an acrobat and play the trumpet
A Pacific Islander with armpit length hair and 70s apparel came up to B-Rok shyly, "My name is Karla" she greeted, "I can play the violin and I can roller dance"
Finally, an Asian girl rushed up to A. J and Nick and gave them high fists, "And I'm Bailee" she greeted "I'm a talented magician and sing the blues."
With a trick up her sleeve, she gives both of them lollipops.
After introducing themselves to the thirteen other kids, Mr. Brand had something important to tell them, "These kids don't just have musical and dancing talent" he continued, "They all have a SPECIAL gift. Brayden, could you"
Brayden went up to the bleachers, and lifted it up, impressing The Griff Gals and The Backstreet Boys, "Super Strength" recalled Faith, "Cristian, are you saying that these kids have superpowers?"
"They do" Mr. Brand answered, "Brysen, show them your stuff"
Instead of showing off his superpowers, Brysen just played his ukulele; "I meant your powers," corrected Mr. Brand
Brysen took out his box of crayons and drew butterflies on the bleachers. The Backstreet Boys and The Griff Gals were horrified because drawing on the walls is against the rules. Before they had a chance to scold him, the butterflies came to live and and flutters.
Just then, the lights came out and no one can see, except for Javion, "Don't worry" he informed the panicked crowd, "Cristian is only displaying my power to see in the dark."
Observing his eyes closely, they noticed that Javion's eyes were glowing blue. Suddenly, he made a water ball and tossed it in the air, causing it to rain.
After Mr. Brand turned on the lights, they saw that Karla turned into a gelatinous girl, "Forgive me" she admitted nervously, "This happens every time it gets dark, which is why I sleep with a night light."
As Nick got off of Howie D, he said, "I know what you mean about being scared of the dark."
"Now me! Now Me!" Bailee exclaimed as she made hawk calls, summoning a hawk from the sky, "This is my pet hawk and best friend, "Clemintine" my parents own a hawk sanctuary."
"The Primal Crown Hawk Sanctuary" recalled Nadine, "I remember meeting your parents during the fourth grade."
"I remember that too" Ginger replied, "Spring 99 and we came to learn about protecting birds"
"Bailee has the instincts of a hawk." explained Zanell "And girls are going to teach them about specific superhero stuff."
Since The Griff Gals were unaware of the kids being supers and a surprise administration, they didn't prepare anything, but Zanell and Cristian did. They gave the five girls pictures of Adam West and his superhero persona, "Catman". In one of the pictures, Faith could see him with a young Cristian, Leandro Kendal and Julien Quick, "I didn't know you knew Adam West" she admitted.
"An official super of The NSA" Cristian explained, "We discovered his high acting skills while on the show version of Batman. He was getting into character so much, we made him a spoke model for superheroes and a super himself, "Catman".
"By the way," replied Dorothy, "How did these kids get their powers."
"They were on a school field trip at NASA when someone played around with weapons from Sector 5HTG." Cristian explained as he glared at Brysen.
"I thought they were toys" admitted Brysen, "Plus it only affected 18 of us."
"I know," replied Cristian, "We had to track down the kids with powers and teach you how to control them. Otherwise, your parents will find out and ground you."
"Your right" Brysen agreed, "I need my TV."
"Brysen is also a huge fan of superhero cartoons" Brayden, "For a six year old ukulele player and artist, he also knows about how to be a good superhero. For me, I'm more into old timey 60s cartoons like Snooper Dawg."
"So what do we do?" asked Ginger.
"You girls did say would give them a tour," recalled Cristian.
During the tour, The Backstreet Boys and The Griff Gals showed them the other TV studios, the prop room, the costume room, and the choreography room where Sarai is teaching them the dance steps of I Want It That Way, "Oh look" Lucille cooed, "Little children."
Lucille walked up to the kids and did ring around the rosie with them, "Now, now Lucille" said Sarai, "The kids are on a tour of Studio 25, so please don't bother them."
"Bye bye kiddies" Lucille said.
"Bye bye, Lucille" the kids replied.
After they closed the door, The Backstreet Boys started sensing danger while The Griff Gals pendants glew. This only meant one thing, there's trouble in Orlando. The kids wanted to come, but Zanell and Cristian thought that too many might tip the enemy off, "That's a good reminder for the supers in training" recalled Faith, "So I can only take a few of you."
"Let us come" Bailee exclaimed.
"Yeah" shouted Brysen, "Pick me and Brayden."
"I want to show my acrobats" Javion exclaimed.
"Okay" Howie D said, "So Brayden, Brysen, Javion and Baillee can come, but we need one more to make you guys a five person team like those Japanese animes."
In the corner, Nick spotted a shy Karla, "Karla" asked Nick, "Do you want to come with us stop the enemy, this could be a good chance for you to show off your roller dancing"
With one look at The Backstreet Boys' smiles, Karla decided to join in.
Backstreet's Back Alright
As they were riding towards the source of the danger, Selah flew up to Faith, B-Rok and Brayden, "Are you sure about letting these kids come along on a mission" asked Selah, "Remember when we brought a bunch of preschool griffin to the human worlds and were almost sent to a pet shelter."
"Don't worry" "We're not letting a bunch of kids ages 10, 6, 8, 9, and 7 get lost. Cristian confirmed all the contestants ages during the tour."
At the Sunset Gardens Honey Farm, Selah explained to the five heroes that they couldn't save the day while in your regular clothes. With one breath, she changed their regular clothes into purple and gray steampunk gymnasts outfits with a griffin symbol on their belts, hoods, and goggles, "Look at us" Bailee shouted, "We're superheroes now"
"But we're going to need a superhero team name" advised Karla, "Remembering from Sailor Moon, all superheroes teams must have a name.
Looking at the J on their cloaks, they decided to call themselves Jubilamania Five and seeing Clementine in goggles and a cloak, they called her, "Jubila-Hawk"
In the Sunset Gardens Shop, an alien bee-keeping bounty hunting was finishing up bounding and gagging the good workers of the farm, 'Now that I stuffed you Earthlings up," he said, "I, "Zaeth" will use your precious Earth bees to sting everyone on this puny planet. These aren't just any stings, I'll give them a special poisonous chemical made by Dr. Zora that will be as deadly as zattleznake poison."
"Looks like you need an extraction" suggested Illusioner from behind.
"The Cyber Crusaders and The Griff Gals," asked Zaeth in horror, "I was warned that you guys would show up."
During the fight, Ninja Man, Diamondnix, and Griffin Girl freed the victims, and Centauremerald, Ordnance, and Top Speed surrounded them. Unfortunately, Zaeth hopped above them and escaped. Using a bee-summoning whistle to attract the genetically altered bees, "Another stinging feeling" said Top Speed.
Brysen drew a giant flower to lure some of the bees, Brayden picked up the flower and it attracted them. Some of the bees tried to escape, but Bailee and Jubila-Hawk scared them into the flower, With splashes from Merazul and Javion, the bees turned into normal bees.
"Now that we turned the bees back to normal," said Top Speed, "What are we going to do with that space beekeeper?"
"You guys say that I should use my roller dancing skills" Karla recalled in a brave look, "Because today is my day"
With an ankle click, she activated her roller-skates. "She must really love The Wizard of Oz" guessed Brayden as he, Brysen, Javion, and Bailee did the same thing and followed Karla.
After Karla blocked Zaeth, he punched her. Fortunately, her bravery made her control her gelatinous powers, "Starting to get jiggly with it." Karla said as she pushed Zaeth.
Top Speed made an energy ball and tossed it, Centauremerald and Ordnance shooted the ball with their laser gun and arrow and the remains of the energy ball surrounded Zaeth.
Later, our heroes were on their way back to Studio 25 on the Hovercycles and roller-skating, "That was epic" Karla exclaimed, "I mean we get to save a honey farm and we get to learn to use our skills to good use.
"What about truancy officers?" Brayden asked, "We could get caught."
"Did we do something bad" Brysen asked, "I thought we were superheroes."
"No, no, you are" Griffin Girl replied as she comforted the little boy, "Truancy officers arrest kids for skipping school. To make sure you get your education and save the day, do it during lunch, recess and if the villains are at your school. If you use the old, "Go to the bathroom" trick or "Nurse's Office" trick, they'll know something's up."
"So what do we do?" asked Javion.
"Cristian told us that you can not only can join the DJ Rise's Soundbooth" replied Diamondnix, "But you guys can join a school club or a rec center club, that's what teen superheroes do to cover it up."
"Hey" said Karla "Maybe after the show, we can all join a music boarding school. My mom is the dean of the Sparrington Academy in Jacksonville."
"That's perfect," replied Diamondnix, "And you should join their summer programs. The only thing now is the superhero names."
"Brayden should be called, Quarterscore" Griffin Girl suggested, "Because he has those football skills."
"Our dad is a middle school gym teacher and football coach," admitted Brayden, "So Quarterscore it is."
Javion should be called, "Shadow Angler" suggested Rubyhane, "Since anglers live in the dark water and have that glowing thingy"
"Brysen is going to be called, "Doodle Daring" suggested Merazul, "Because he's a really good artist."
"Thanky yow" replied Brysen as he kissed Nadine on the cheek.
"Jalen is not going to like that" Merazul said.
"Karla should be, "Jiggle Jubila"" suggested Centauremerald, "You guys are The Jubilamania Five and your jiggly."
"And Bailee should be, Miracle Hawk" suggested Diamondnix, "Because you seem to believe in miracles."
"That's good" Bailee replied, "Because Hawkgirl is already taken"
Jubila-Hawk and Selah agreed on the names as well.
"We'll inform these to Cristian as soon as we get back to Studio 25" Ninja Man informed the kids
"I was thinking," said Top Speed, "Sometimes we get to Studio 25 within one minute and sometimes thirty."
"I read the instructions" Merazul explained, "And it looks like the Hovercycles can let us see the world around us."
A few hours later, The Griff Girls, The Backstreet Boys, and The Jubilamania Five were celebrating at The Tiki Hut with burgers and fries, "I think its time the student becomes the teacher" suggested Kevin as he ate a fry, "Can you figure out messages from our songs in your point of view."
"Anywhere For You means that they would do anything for that special someone," said Ginger.
"As Long As You Love Me is about unconditional love no matter what the troubles they have." said Dorothy.
"Quit Playing Games With My Heart means telling people to stop messing with their emotions." said Nadine."
"I Want It That Way's meaning" said Jessie, "Message of expressing burning love."
"Larger Than Life meaning Looking on the path ahead" said Faith.
"That's it" Howie D commented, "Now let's help ourselves to some cookies."
"Yay! Cookies!" Brysen and Bailee shouted.
"Brysen and Bailee seem to have a sweet tooth" guessed Dorothy.
