It was rainy afternoon in Royal Woods, and four oldest loud sisters were in the living room of their house, Lori and Leni on the coaches, Luna on the right chair, Luan on the left. Just about all the Loud sisters had gotten back home earlier than their brother, who still hadn't shown up. The sisters were both annoyed and concerned by what's taking Lincoln so long to come back...
Lori:"What's taking him so long?"
Luna:"Chill, he will be here soon."
Luan:"In that weather? Please, I wouldn't be surprised if he got rained out."
A strong gust of wind blew by the house...
Luan:"Or had gone with the wind. Ha, ha, ha. Get it?"
Leni:"Guys, this is nothing to joke about! Lincoln has to walk home and it's one of the rainiest days of the season!"
Lori:"Leni, it's just an afternoon shower."
Leni:"Shower? No, it's raining!"
Lori:"Ugh."
Luna:"While we're on the subject of relatives, how do you think she's doing?"
Lori:"She's probably fine."
Leni:"But, we haven't seen her in forever."
Lori:"And that's why we're gonna go see her soon...just as SOON as Lincoln gets back!"
Luan:"I don't know why we couldn't have just...brought her in."
Luna:"We don't have the space, Luan. This is the best option for now."
Lori:"Well...Luan might have a point. I mean, we can't exactly protect her forever."
Leni:"Can we still protect her now?"
Lori:"Of course. But if we're going to, we need to bring Lincoln into the mix."
Luan:"But why not someone like Lynn?"
Then, by shear coincidence, some commotion can be heard upstairs, what sounds to be mostly caused by Lynn.
Lori:"Does that answer your question?"
Liam:"Alright. Point taken."
And it was then that the front door opened to reveal a soaking wet, not-so-happy looking Lincoln. This caught the sisters by surprise.
Leni:"Um...hey, Lincoln. How was your day?"
Lincoln:"(sarcastically) Just fine. Thanks for asking."
He then began to shake his head dry of any rain, accidentally getting his sisters wet in the process.
Girls:"LINCOLN!"
The little brother ignored them as he was about to go upstairs, but Lori blocked his path.
Lori:"Watch where you're shaking your empty head, twerp!"
Leni:"(upset) You got my dress all wet!"
Luan:"Why'd you get us soaked?!"
Luna:"What's your problem, bro?!"
Lincoln:"Just forget it! I'm not in the mood right now!"
With that, he surprisingly pushed Lori aside and stormed upstairs. They quickly followed him and opened the door just as he had slammed it shut. They saw their brother sitting on his bed, with his arms wrapped around his legs, surprising his sisters as he looked upset...
Luna:"Lincoln?! What's wrong?"
Lincoln:"(muffled) Nothing! Just leave me alone!"
Lori:"No, Lincoln! We're not going anywhere. Either tell us what's your problem, or we'll be staying all day."
With that, Lincoln let out a heavy sigh and unwrapped himself as he faced his sister.
Lincoln:"Look, I'm sorry I snapped at you guys, but I've just had the worst day ever."
Luan:"Because of the rain?"
Lincoln:"More than that. See, it was right after school when Mrs. Johnson called me over for a second..."
Flashback to when Lincoln was meeting with his teacher, and she seemed very upset with him today. For they had a very important exam in his class today, but when Lincoln thought he could ace it, he was in for some shocking news...
Mrs. Johnson:"I'm sorry Lincoln, but you got the lowest score in the class."
Lincoln:"What?! But-"
Mrs. Johnson:"No buts. It's no surprise that you failed, given what you wrote."
Lincoln:"What did I write?"
Then Mrs. Johnson places the paper in front of him and Lincoln examines it thoroughly. His eyes widened as he then faces his teacher.
Lincoln:"This isn't what I wrote!"
Mrs. Johnson:"Nonsense! You have your name on it and everything!"
Lincoln:"But this isn't even my-"
Mrs. Johnson:"I don't want any excuses, Lincoln!"
The fact that she kept cutting him off before Lincoln could even explain anything to her was really starting to bug him.
Mrs. Johnson:"I'm afraid this is gonna have to cost you a detention. I'm sorry, Lincoln, but I have to notify your parents."
It was then that Lincoln slammed his fist to the desk, visibly cracking it, causing his teacher to jump as she dropped the phone and saw that her student looked ticked...
Lincoln:"If you could just shut up for 5 minutes and let me explain myself, you would know that you're an oblivious idiot to not see that this is NOT my handwriting, this is NOT the test I've taken and I DID. NOT. FAIL!"
But then he calmed down and realize what he just said. Before his teacher could say anything else, Lincoln walked out of the classroom before his time was up without another word.
Lincoln:"Then I packed up and walked back here, but wasn't fast enough to escape the rain."
The rest of Lincoln's sisters looked at him with remorse. Without a warning, Leni immediately hugged her brother as she started to cry.
Leni:"Oh, Lincoln! I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that!"
Lincoln:"It's fine, Leni. But thanks for caring."
Not only did he return the hug, but Lincoln stroked his sister's hair, which caught her attention as she quickly opened her eyes and smiled at her brothers gentle strokes. The other girls were enjoying seeing their brother comforted and wanted to join, but until they heard what sounded like a ding coming from the downstairs computer. They then headed downstairs to see what was up, and saw that Lincoln had an email message. Upon reading it, his eyes widened...
"Lincoln,
I am very disappointed in you for how rude you were to me during our conversation, not willingly taking the bad news and leaving before our time was up. Due to your most recent actions in class today, you are to be put into detention for the rest of the school year. I hope you use the time after school to think about your behavior and learn how to take failure. Be sure to be in better mood soon.
Mrs. Johnson."
The sisters looked concerned for their brother after reading the note themselves, then upon seeing that their brother was expressionless, they waited for him to say or do something. What they weren't expecting...was for Lincoln to punch the computer screen and slam his face down to the desk...
Lincoln:"My life is nothing but a disaster."
Each of his sisters looked like 😰 as Luna quickly leaned over brother and deleted the note, as difficult as it was with how the screen was continuously glitching.
Lori:"...Lincoln? Why don't you go get out of those clothes and take a shower."
Lincoln:"...Sure."
And with that, they waited until Lincoln was out of sight so they can talk behind his back.
Luna:"Okay, our little bro seriously needs a pick up."
Lori:"No kidding. After he showers, then would be the best time to tell him about you-know-who."
Luna:"Yeah."
Luan:"Sounds good."
Leni:"Agreed...who do we know?"
The three others facepalmed after hearing that...
One shower later, Lincoln came out of the bathroom, now wearing fresh clothes and was drying his hair with a towel. He was about to head over to his room again when he saw his four older sisters in front of him once more...
Lori:"Lincoln, we know you've been feeling a bit down at the moment..."
Leni:"Which is why we're heading over to Great Lake City..."
Lincoln:"Uh, thanks guys. But I don't think even Ronnie Anne will could cheer me right now.
Luna:"No, not her. We going meet someone..."
Luan:"Who we've been wanting to introduce you too for a while."
Lincoln:"And...who would that be?"
Lori:"(puts a blindfold over Lincoln's eyes) You'll see when we get there."
Lincoln:"Right now?"
Luna:"Right now. Let's go."
And with that, the took Lincoln to the van. Thankfully, the rain calmed down as they all got in and Lori started up the engine. Getting out of the driveway, they wasted no time head out and making their way to Great Lake City.
