Throughout Elsa's long life, she had been called by many names and titles. Your majesty, your highness, queen, princess, monster, witch, abomination and murderer just to name a few. She wasn't particularly attached to any of them. Only one title could ever bring her joy, and it could only be said by someone who was now long gone from this Earth. Elsa felt a pang of pain in her heart and wiped away the tears that had escaped from her eyes. Even after Anna's death centuries ago, the thought of her beloved sister always brought back dark memories.
Was this Elsa's punishment for defying Ahtohallan? Being forced to witness the deaths of all those she loved while she physically remained the same as the day she fell too far into the most dangerous parts of Ahtohallan. Elsa leaned her head against the bus' window as raindrops splattered against the glass, the vibrations slowly putting her mind at ease. Immortality was nothing but a curse so painful that she wouldn't wish it even upon her worst of enemies, except Hans of course. Hopefully he was still suffering in whatever hell he was sent to after he passed.
Elsa longed to be able to join her sister in the afterlife. She even tried killing herself multiple times to no avail.
A dagger made of her sharpest ice cleanly sliced through her pale, soft skin that covered her wrist. Not a single drop of blood formed as the wound healed within a few seconds.
Elsa placed a cold hand on the window as the wind blew several leaves past the bus. Gale was always keeping an eye on her, even after she left the Enchanted forest.
A distraught Elsa started running towards a cliff on the Northern mountain, her white spirit dress flowing around her as she jumped at the last second. Gravity immediately took over as Elsa felt herself fall. Closing her eyes, Gale caught her midair and gently placed her on the snow covered ground. Elsa could only scream in rage that quickly turned into violent sobbing at the intervention of her fellow spirit.
The world quickly moved on from Arendalle. After Anna's death, the people quickly turned their backs on Elsa. Kristoff had already died a few years earlier, so what did these people know of Elsa? That she was their former queen during an era most of them weren't even conceived or even a thought, or perhaps they only remembered the storm that Elsa caused during her coronation.
Elsa closed her eyes and took a deep breath. The years haven't been kind to her, the emergence of 'parahumans' seemed like it would finally bring her relief. Could she finally be able to use her powers in front of others again if she wanted? Of course not, Elsa had isolated herself to the world. Holed up in some cave in Ahtohallan or her ice cabin that was hidden deep in the Enchanted Forest for decades at a time, this was Elsa's first trip in about two to three decades.
"Have you been behaving yourself?" Gale's voice sounded like a whisper in Elsa's head. Elsa glanced at her fellow passengers. A few were staring at the platinum haired spirit, a few glancing her way every once in a while. Was she drawing too much attention? She wasn't even wearing her ice clothes! The first thing Elsa did upon arriving in America was ravaging through clothing donation boxes to find something that was more this century and not the fifties.
"You know I can't talk to you in front of others." Elsa whispered under her breath as she sat up. Despite being away from society for a long time, Elsa had picked up some modern social cues on her way to Brockton Bay.
Parahumans were people who had powers that weren't magic. Villains and heroes and all those in between were called 'Capes' which was quite dumb to be honest. A cape was a cape, and Elsa was quite a fan of them. They drew too much attention sadly, so her spirit dress was folded up nicely in her backpack that sat on her lap. The bus slowly came to a stop to allow more passengers to board and for others to leave. 'Capes' didn't show off their powers in public unless they were in costume, well usually that is. There were always some exceptions to the rules.
"Perhaps, but you've been neglecting your duties as the fifth spirit." Gale said with a sad whisper.
Elsa's eyes narrowed. There weren't any duties to do anyway. Arendalle was long abandoned, burned to the ground by the Nazi's during the Second World War, Anna's descendants losing their ancestral birthright.
German soldiers screamed profanities as they charged through the Enchanted Forest. Elsa could only stare in shock as the Northuldra were hunted down. The tribespeople ignored her as she walked past them, walking straight towards the invaders."Kill the Witch!" Someone shouted and Elsa felt a bullet pass through her chest, right where her heart would have been. Another bullet struck her left thigh, only for the wound to seal itself. Gritting her teeth in pain, Elsa wove her hands through the air and summoned icicles from the ground. The once pure white snow would be dark red once she was done, proving herself to be the monster she always believed she was.
Elsa grabbed her shaking right hand with her left. Sure the Northuldra were still around, but they merely believed the spirits to be mere myth and legend. After all, Elsa stopped visiting the tribe after the death of her friends Honeymaren and Ryder.
Hardening her eyes, Elsa balled her hands into a fist.
"Ahtohallan can go fuck itself."
Gale sighed sadly. "I hope you find what you're looking for. Don't forget to visit, Bruni misses you already." With that, Elsa felt the Wind Spirit's presence leave. Elsa released the breath she hadn't realized she was holding in.
The Endbringers, these shall be the ones to finally end her curse. Elsa could finally rest and see her family. She was taken out of her thoughts when the bus came to another stop. This time only a single girl boarded the bus.
Dressed in an old, dark hoodie, and dark pants, the teenagers familiar face was framed by dark curly hair and glasses. Elsa's eyes widened in shock.
Even with different hair and eye colors, Elsa could recognize that face anywhere. She saw that face whenever she closed her eyes.
"Anna?"

Sorry for the lack of updates on my other stories. I heard the Frozen broadway cast album and listened to the Frozen 2 album and I became obsessed again. Frozen is what got me into reading fanfiction 8 years ago, so I felt a wave of nostalgia as I fell into the rabbit hole. Basically, if it wasn't for Frozen, I wouldn't be here today writing Worm fanfiction.
I'll try to work on Lore Khepri next or whatever story that pops into my head.
