During Elsa's long life, she came to learn to love the little moments in life. Those moments that may have been trivial during the events of her mortal life, but Elsa had over a century to mull over her memories. Braiding Anna's hair, making sure Olaf had enough books to prepare for his lessons at Arendelle University, getting after Kristoff after he covered the castle's floors in mud. Such trivial matters, yet Elsa would do anything to have them back. Enjoying a picnic with her friends and family, Honeymaren teaching her how to ride a reindeer, sharing her favorite chocolate with Anna.
Elsa missed stuff like this. She took another bite of the pizza Anna, no Taylor made for them. While it wasn't the fanciest meal or the most expensive one she's ever had, it was no doubt the most delicious. Anna was here, and that was all Elsa needed in her life.
Elsa ate her pizza silently, mostly. Taylor would start ranting about something, which caused Elsa to giggle every once in a while. It took all of her self restraint to stop herself from full out laughing when Taylor popped the piece of chewed pizza back in her mouth. Classic Anna-
Elsa's ears picked up something weird. Becoming the Fifth Spirit did more than just grant her immortality, she figured this out during the Second World War. Her senses were heightened, her physical strength was greater than her mortal self had been and her magic, that blasted so called gift grew even more powerful. Once a gift, then a curse, then a gift again, before finally turning out to be a curse in the end.
How ironic.
"Taylor." Elsa whispered. Anna's new name felt weird rolling off of her lips, weird and foreign. Her last name sounded even weirder. Hebert. Anna paused mid-rant and tilted her head to the side.
"Someone's here."
Anna's eyes widened and her head turned towards the entrance to her house. "Oh shit, it's Dad." She jumped up, stuffing another slice of pizza in her mouth.
"Ya ma fend who tuors meh a da livary." Anna mumbled as she tried talking. Thankfully, Elsa had mastered the skill of understanding Anna back when they were little girls.
You're my friend who tutors me at the library.
A smart idea, even though Elsa didn't like the idea of lying to Anna's Father. Lies already tore apart her previous family. No family should be built upon lies. Still, Anna knew her current family more than Elsa did. Elsa nodded in return as she quickly reverted her ice shirt back to its original materials. The sweater was still a bit damp, but Elsa had taken most of the moisture out already.
The door opened, revealing the man from the photos on Anna's bookshelf. While he looked the same overall, Elsa noticed a lot of differences as well. His hair had receded even more, and he was thinner despite the small belly he had on him. His eyes are what stood out the most to Elsa.
In the photo they were happy and full of life, now they were dull, as if Anna's Father was wandering the Earth without a purpose. Elsa's heart broke into several pieces.
This wasn't her Father. Where Agnarr was tall and strong, with eyes that commanded respect, this man looked like Elsa's Papa. There went that hope that Elsa could have reunited with her parents, to give them the hug she refused to give before they left on their voyage.
"Hey Dad. You're home late today." Taylor said casually as stood at the entrance of the kitchen, at the mouth of the hallway that led to the front door.
"Sorry hun. I finally managed to snag a contract from the city. It should be able to provide some more jobs." Anna's Father said. His eyes met Elsa's blue ones. They widened slightly, as if he was trying to remember something he forgot when he shook his head. "Aren't you going to introduce me to your friend?" Even his voice was different from Papa's. Meanwhile, 'Taylor's' voice remained unchanged, the voice that had slowly faded from Elsa's memory.
"Oh yeah. This is Elsa, uh, Menzel. We met at the library a while ago. She helps me study while she gets ready for college." Taylor said quickly. Elsa gave her a raised eyebrow in return. Elsa Menzel? Was that really the best she could have come up with?
Well, it wasn't like Elsa had a better name chosen. She had arrived in America as Adele Dazeem, an identity that Gale helped her to create. Yeah, the Arendelle Royal family weren't skilled when it came to making up names.
"Oh great. I'm glad you're making friends." He patted Taylor on the head, an act that strangely made Elsa feel a bit jealous inside. Still, Elsa forced that feeling towards the back of her mind and flashed Anna's Father a smile that she practiced hundreds of times when she was younger as she stood up politely.
"It's so nice to meet you, Mr. Hebert." Elsa said. "Taylor had told me a lot of good things about you." Elsa extended a hand which Mr. Hebert took. That last statement seemed to confuse the two Hebert's, both of their eyes blinking slowly. Did Elsa do something wrong?"
"Likewise, and please, call me Danny. Mr. Hebert was my father." Mr. Hebert said with a light chuckle. He turned towards An-Taylor. "I'll let you have your alone. Have fun hun. It was nice meeting you, Elsa."
Elsa's response was a simple nod. Danny grabbed a weird can from the fridge and walked towards the stairs.
"Well, that went extremely well." Elsa said, her queenly smile turning into a real one. Taylor sighed and slapped her forehead.
"Yeah, yeah. Let's finish the pizza and head to my room so we can have a very important 'discussion'." Taylor placed a hand on Elsa's shoulder.
This was not going to be pretty.
A/N
So I placed a poll on Spacebattles on what ships MIGHT happen here. Imagine my surprise that Elsa staying single was slowly passed up by Elsanna.
We'll see if it develops naturally. I'm not going to force romance, but I won't be opposed to it.
The next chapter is gonna be a little late. I just tested positive for Covid. ALMOST MADE IT TWO YEARS.
Anyway, Do you guys really want Elsanna?I guess I could make it work with an asexual Elsa.
