Chapter 19

Everleigh sat in the backseat with Ian in Darcy's car. She had been in London for a while watching over Jane to make sure that she was safe and she hadn't done too much to protect the woman. She wasn't quite sure of why Shield thought it was wise to have her watch over the scientist after everything that happened in New York. She pursed her lips together in worry as she looked out the window.

Jane got into Darcy's car. "And I hate you." Jane said rather irritatedly that Darcy was there.

"What?! I thought he was cute." Darcy said defending herself. She couldn't believe that Jane was in such a mood. Perhaps she really did miss Thor?

"Just shut up and drive."

Darcy held up her hands and then started the car up. She pulled out of her parking spot and began to drive through London.

Jane turned her head and saw a guy in the backseat next to Everleigh. "Who's he?"

"He's my intern."

"You have an intern?"

"Oh, yeah."

"Hello, Dr. Foster. It's uh...it's a great honor to be working with you." The young man said softly. He was rather thankful that he was able to meet an idol such as her.

"Right. I have to call Erik."

Ian checked the navigator that he held in his hands. "Oh, uh...take a right."

Darcy quickly made a sharp turn.

"Damn it Darcy!" Everleigh said as she slid in her seat bumping into the door of the car.

"Left!"

She then quickly turned left causing Everleigh to slide right into Ian. "Sorry."

"I have totally mastered driving in London."

"I don't think you have, Darcy." Everleigh said softly, shaking her head.

Jane held her phone up to her ear as she got the voicemail of Erik. "Hi, Erik, it's me again. Where are you? I came here because you said you were onto something and then vanished."

Darcy pulled up outside of an old abandoned factory and they all got out of the car.

Everleigh looked around her brows furrowing in concern.

Darcy smiled a huge smile and moved quickly towards the area. "Come on, this is exciting! Look, the intern is excited."

"Ian." The young man corrected.

Everleigh patted the young man on the shoulder. "She won't remember." She said softly to him.

Ian let out a breath and slowly followed Everleigh, Jane, and Darcy.

"Sorry." Everleigh said softly to him.

"For an Agent of Shield you're nice."

Everleigh smiled a small smile to Ian as they walked.

"Do you want the phase meter?" Darcy questioned Jane as they walked.

"No."

"Bring the phase meter." Darcy said as she threw the car keys at Ian and walked off with the rest of them.

Everleigh gave Ian a sad look. "Good luck with Darcy.

"The toaster looking thing."

"I know what the phase meter is."

Jane walked towards the factory and Darcy called on her cell phone which started playing an annoying music tone.

Everleigh rolled her eyes lightly.

"How do I change the ringtone on this thing?" Jane questioned, rather irritated.

"An Astrophysicist with three degrees should be able to change her own ringtone." Darcy pointed out to Jane.

Jane turned to look at Darcy. Her brows furrowed. "Why are you calling me?"

"I didn't want to shout." She then turned her attention to Ian. "Intern, the entrance is this way."

Everleigh let out a breath and shook her head lightly as she walked. She just wondered what on earth Shield was on for her to be on protective duty for Jane and her friend Darcy and Erik. Well it didn't help that Erik just kind of ran out on them and she wasn't able to even find him and she had to alert them about it and they would keep an ear out for where he was.

"Ian. My name's Ian." Ian called out rather frustratedly.

They entered the old factory and they heard a noise.

"I am not getting stabbed in the name of science." Darcy said as she held up her hands before shouting. "It's okay, we're Americans!"

"Is that supposed to make them like us?" Jane said, looking at her friend.

Everleigh turned her head hearing some kids talking.

"Make it go away…" Maddie said softly.

"Ssh!" Navid said, trying to shush the girl.

The three kids came out of their hiding place.

"Oh, they're kids."

"Are you the police?" Maddie questioned looking at the four of them.

"No, we're scientists. Well, I am." Jane said softly to the girl trying her best to calm the girl.

"Thanks." Darcy said, rolling her eyes.

"We just found it." Navid said to them.

"Can you show us?"

The three kids led them to a truck, one of the boys touched the truck and pushed it up with two fingers.

They watched in amazement as the truck floated in mid-air.

"That doesn't seem rigged." Darcy said blinking a few times.

Everleigh's eyes went wide as she felt something there.

The kids then took them to a stairwell in the factory, one of them then dropped a bottle down and they watched the bottle disappear into thin air.

"Where did it go?" Darcy questioned wondering if it was even possible, but then again hearing about the alien attack and seeing the fact that they were with a witch, nothing really should surprise her anymore.

The girl pointed her finger up.

They looked up and saw the bottle reappear above them and continuously fell and disappeared in the same spot in the air.

"That's...that's incredible."

"Perhaps a bit too incredible." Everleigh said as she slowly moved forward, her brows furrowed in confusion.

Jane then picked up an empty can and dropped it down and it did the same thing, it disappeared into thin air, but when they looked up to watch it reappear nothing happened.

"What happened?" Darcy questioned her brows furrowing in concern.

"Sometimes they come back, sometimes they don't." Maddie pointed out to them.

"I want to throw something. Jane, give me your shoe."

Jane picked up her gadget to look at the readings. "I haven't seen readings like this since…"

"New Mexico?"

Jane gave Darcy a meaningful look before rushing off.

Everleigh groaned and followed Jane. Now she was really wishing she had another job than watching over Jane. Jane couldn't stay in one place when something like this happened. What concerned her was the readings that Jane was getting and mentioning it was in New Mexico and she was there which concerned her a lot more.

"Don't touch anything!" Jane called out as she moved.

"Give me your shoe." Darcy said to Ian.

XXXXXXXXXXXXX

This is the end of Chapter 19. I hope that you guys enjoyed this. I promise you there will be some good scenes in the next part and there will be parts that will not be following the movie whatsoever which will be a lot of fun for me to do. I'm excited to see what you guys will think of the next part and of course this part. I know I said I would have done an Iron Man 3 part, but I just couldn't think of a part to write for it. So I decided to write it this way instead. Please leave a review and let me know what you think. I will try to do this with an update every Monday as long as I have a chapter to post. Until next time.
