'Same as you, can I join you?' she nodded. He sat down next to her.
After a while of watching the stars, James turned to Lily.
'Lils?'
'Mmmmmmmmmmmm…' she said turning her head towards him.
'I love you,' he said and leaned forward and kissed her softly and placed his right hand on her neck, under her ear. After her initial shock, she kissed him back. She pulled away and leant her forehead against his. They grinned like idiots.
'James Potter, I love you too,' and she moved into his lap and leaned against him. They stayed watching the stars until they fell asleep together, smiling, and under the stars.
