Title: Give Her an Inch & She'll Take a Mile
Fandom: Ouran High School Host Club
Characters/Pairings: Kyoya/Renge
Rating: Slightly Amusing. Oh, you mean is it full of cussing & shit? Fck no.
Summary: Drabble, Marriage is both exactly what he thought it would be & yet, nothing like it should be. Post-High School & probably AU, but who knows.
Author's Notes: It hit me as I was reading SGA slash. (How slash leads my muse to het... I don't even want to speculate.)
In the begining it was a way to both secure his place in society & to secure the company's business assossiates from France. Kyoya never expected a love match & he didn't get one. Rather, he married to use bloodties to expand the Ootori zaibatsu.
But as it was his junior year, Hoshakuji Renge did everything he expected her to do, but not quite how he planned it.
At first he was ready for a traditional cerimony in a private garden, but Renge was sad because she wanted a certain type of dress. Kyoya gave in. It was the first of many mistakes.
As soon as he okayed the dress Renge took control of the whole day. The wedding itself had to be Europian, Renge wouldn't be anything less than an Old World fairy tale princess & he had to be 'Prince Charming'. Then he had to participate in the actual planning of all the details, which he would have normally left up to a wedding planner or better yet anyone but himself or Renge. As such he spent months listening to his wife-to-be anginizing over silverware, china patterns, & music, and stopping the professionals from throtling the flighty girl.
Renge also insisted he find a best man & about ten escorts for her matron of honor & the ten bridesmaids, which Kyoya thought was silly but it seemed best to just make Renge happy so she'd remember all his work later & forgive him the long nights, many trips, & emergencies which he knew would happen once he took over the zaibatsu.
First, he called in every guy from high school & college who he was friends with & still talked to; a grand total of fifteen, with seven of the number begging out because of previous plans. Then as soon as Tamaki caught wind of the kind of wedding Renge wanted, the shameless romantic used all his contacts & pulled in all of the old Host Club, Nekozawa, Suzushima, and a few of Kyoya's more distant cousins.
Most of Tamaki's choices made no sense, Haruhi was now a known female attourny, Nekozawa dressed in black cloaks, wigs, & detested the light & flowers that Renge adored, and Kyoya had forgotten about those cousins for very good reasons which were now starting up old fires of hate & revenge. Never the less, he let his best friend & his fiancé have free rein.
The day of the wedding was the stuff of soap operas. Renge was an hour late, just because. Tamaki's old & jealous loves were coming out of the woodwork, Nekozawa & Renge's best friend had no less than five fights over the light levels alone, the tabloids were having a field day with the crossdressing Haruhi, Kirimi-chan was Nekozawa's date (& was a far more caprisious & powerful spellcaster than her older brother), & his cousins were caught trying to finalize plans for assassinating himself & all the upper management who had dared to go against them (which was everyone at the wedding.)
As he colapsed into bed next to an already sleeping Renge, he mused that perhaps the day wouldn't seem such a disaster in ten years. After all, in ten years he was sure Renge would manage to land him and everyone he knew in even more trouble than just one day of drama.
