Chapter 9 For Someone's Sake

It was getting late, the sun descending upon them.

Juvia and Meredy were facing each other, both breathing heavily.

"Why won't just give up, you are no match for me," Meredy glared "You are weak,"

"I can't give up, not against you," Juvia declared "I need to win in order to see Gray-sama,"

"Gray-sama," Meredy raised an eyebrow "I see you're his friend,"

Juvia blushed "Yes, but in the future, we will something more,"

"I see," Meredy once again hit Juvia with her magunity blades.

"Gah," Juvia screamed.

"Then once I kill you, I will kill Gray because he is number one on my must kill list," Meredy declared.

Juvia's look then turned serious and she glared at Meredy "What," and then the sky darkens clouds forming above the island.

"Huh," Wendy looked up feeling the rain.

"It's raining," Happy said.

"Well that's great," Carla signed.

"Are you sure you're okay Erza," Wendy asked.

Erza smiled "I'm okay, Wendy. We just need to get Master to camp,"

"Lilly should already be there by now," Carla said.

"Yeah, let's just hope everyone there is safe," Erza nodded.

"And once we do that we can search for Natsu if he's not there," Happy said.

Erza smiled "Yeah and let's not forget the others as well,"

Wendy smiled and nodded.

Erza then suddenly stopped in her she felt a strong presence.

"Erza-san," Wendy tilted her head.

"Erza Scarlet," a male voice said.

Wendy and Carla then froze as well recognizing the voice.

"That voice," Wendy shook.

"And the kid and cat from before," it was then Azuma emerged from the tree above them.

"Grimoire," Carla said.

"He's one of the seven kin," Happy shouted.

Erza glared and she then handed Makarov to Happy and Carla"Wendy, you Happy and Carla head back to base camp, I'll handle him,"

"But Erza-san,"

"Just go," Erza interrupted.

Wendy was reluctant at first but nodded "We leave it to you, Carla, Happy, let's go,"

Happy and Carla nodded.

"I guess it's up to you," Carla flew after Wendy.

"Make sure to beat him Erza," Happy told her and he followed Wendy and Carla.

Wendy looked back at Erza "Erza-san be careful,"

Azuma scoffed "Wise choice, I have no interest in fighting kids and cats. I want a real challenge,"

Erza's eyes narrowed requipping her armor "A real challenge,"

Azuma nodded "Yes I already defeated She-Devil Mirajane, now I will defeat you Titania Erza,"

Erza was shocked "You defeated Mira impossible,"

Azuma signed "it's the truth, and now I will face you please put up more of a challenge than she and that kid did,"

Erza just glared at him requipping a sword.

Gray ran through the forest "Damn we need to find these Grimoire guys and take them out,"

As Gray was walking through the forest he heard rustling, hearing that he quickly hid behind a tree, and then he saw a beautiful large chested woman with long dark hair holding an unconscious man.

Gray's eyes widen when he saw the woman's face "Ur,"

It was then suddenly Gray saw a pink beam hit his arm and now saw there was now a strange marking on it.

"What the hell," it was then Gray started to feel strange.

Juvia breath heavily "What did you do,"

"I've connected us," Meredy smirked "You, me and Gray, so whatever I feel you and Gray will feel,"

Hearing that Juvia became completely red "Me and Gray-sama are connected,"

"Yes and you should be careful, if one of us dies, we all die," Meredy declared.

Juvia's eyes widened at this "But that means you will die too,"

Meredy nodded "Yes that is my conviction,"

"I can feel it, Gray-sama's back is against something," Juvia thought.

"You can feel it, Gray leaning against something," Meredy said. "And now that I and Gray are connected, there is no longer a need to fight," she then created two magunity blades and put them at her neck.

Juvia was shocked and she knew what Meredy was going to do "Wait don't,"

"I don't fear death," Meredy declared.

Seeing the blades nearing Meredy's neck, Juvia in an act of desperation struck herself "sorry Gray-sama,"

"GAH!" Meredy screamed, her blades disappeared and she fell. "Smart, Magunity sense can carry over the pain but not the injury, the only way you can stop me is to kill me, but you won't because it will kill Gray too,"

"Our lives are linked as one and yet you continue to fight," Meredy said.

Juvia struggled to get up but she stood strong "Even when we defeat our enemies Fairy Tail wizards don't kill their enemies,"

Meredy's anger flared up "How weak. I will kill you and Gray for Ultear's sake," it was then a Magunity blade appeared above her head and it started to lower. Juvia limped trying to walk up to Meredy. It was then memories flooded into Meredy, the destruction of her village, the death of her friends and family, Meeting Ultear and finding comfort in her, and seeing the woman as her mother.

Suddenly Meredy felt Juvia embraced her crying. "Eh," Meredy blinked. "Why are you crying,"

"Even you smiled," Juvia shouted "You know what happiness feels like, You have someone important to you,"

Meredy then started to feel something in her "don't tell me our emotions are connected to,"

"You have to live," Juvia cried "I will live too, I live for the sake of the ones I love, You have to too, you have to live for the people you love,"

"Love, live," Meredy started to form tears "I can't stay connected any longer than her emotions will,"

Meredy however couldn't fight it anymore she felt herself starting to cry. Juvia smiled and embraced her once more "tears of love and life," the magunity sense then vanished on Juvia's, Meredy's, and Gray's arm.

Juvia and Meredy then collapsed.

"I can't fight you anymore," Meredy fell.

"I won't run or hide Gray-sama," Juvia collapsed.

"What was that, those feelings are gone," Gray looked at his arm seeing the mark gone, he then wiped his face feeling tears "Damn it tears, what the hell,"

"Hello Gray," a female voice said.

Gray's eyes widened and he stood up and turned and his shock grew further her face was exactly like Ur's.

"Were you following me," Ultear asked.

"You're," Gray shook.

Ultear nodded "I see you recognize me, that's good. I am Ultear, your Master Ur's daughter,"

Gray was shocked, "Ur's daughter and she's a member of Grimoire Heart. She's also the one involved with Jellal's group and the council. And if she knows who I am then she must hate me,"

Ultear gave him a kind smiled "Gray, I've always wanted to meet you, don't worry I'm your ally,"

Gray was shocked by this "What,"

Wendy was running through the forest with Carla, and Happy who is carrying the Master. Wendy's eyes widened and she saw an unconscious blonde on the ground.

:"Lucy-san," Wendy cried.

"Lucy," Happy shouted.

"What happened," Carla said.

Wendy checked on Lucy "she's okay just asleep,"

Lucy opened her eyes "Wendy, Happy, Carla, what are you doing here,"

"Why are you sleeping here," Happy asked.

"Last thing I remember I was with Cana," Lucy groaned. "Cana where is she,"

"I don't know we only found you here," Wendy answered "We need to get out of here, Master is hurt and we need to get the base camp,"

Lucy nodded seeing the injured old man "Okay after we need to find Natsu,"

The others' eyes widen.

"What happened to Natsu," Happy asked worried.

"We think he may have been taken hostage by Grimoire," Lucy told them and their eyes widened in shock.

"Then we need to save him," Happy shouted.

"Calm down, let's regroup with the others and then save him," Carla told them.

Wendy nodded agreement "Right we're not at full strength yet,"

"And I want to go to the base camp to check if Cana is there," Lucy said.

Once the group made the decision they ran in the direction of the base camp. The group rushed through the forest and they froze in place.

"What is this," Lucy shivered.

"Such powerful magic," Wendy shook.

"Over there," Happy shouted pointing towards a large man with a ponytail.

"Who is that, and why is the rain not pouring on him," Carla shook.

"Hmm, can you fly," the man said, he then waved his arm, and Lucy, Wendy, Happy, and Carla were pushed to the ground by a massive force cratering the ground beneath them.

"Gravity magic," Happy shouted.

"Now where is Mavis Vermillion's Grave," the man glared.

"First's grave," Lucy said.

"What does he want with it," Happy said.

Bluenote signed "Tell me where it is or else," he then increased the force of gravity crushing the group of Fairy Tail wizards.

"Stop it," a female voice shouted.

The group turned and saw Cana breathing heavily, and she had a new visible tattoo on her arm "Don't you dare hurt my friends,"

"Cana," Lucy smiled.

"Cana-san," Wendy smiled.

Bluenote scoffed "And what exactly can you accomplish,"

Cana held her tattooed arm out "This," it was then the tattoo was starting to glow with a bright light.

GATHER! O RIVER OF LIGHT THAT IS GUIDED BY FAIRIES

Bluenote's eyes widen at this "This is,"

SHINE! IN ORDER TO PERISH THE FANGS OF EVIL

"What spell is she casting," Lucy said.

It was then a ring of light formed around Bluenote.

"This is enchantment could it be," Bluenote thought.

FAIRY GLITTER

There was a bright light but in an instant it shattered, knocking Cana back shocking her.

Bluenote signed "Pathetic even the most powerful spells at the hands of an amateur,"

"Cana," Lucy shouted.

"Cana-san," Wendy cried.

"Even with Fairy Glitter, I couldn't do anything," Cana fell and started to cry "Everyone I'm sorry,"

As Bluenote went in to attack Cana, someone jumped in and protected her. Cana opened her eyes and started to cry. Gildarts was standing before her, protecting her from Bluenote.

"Dad," Cana cried.

"It's Gildarts," Happy cheered.

"We're saved," Lucy smiled.

Gildarts glared at Bluenote with anger "How dare you invade Tenrou, this exam is sacred to these kids, how dare you interfere,"

Gildarts then looked at Lucy and the group "You guys get out of here, I'll handle him,"

The group was reluctant but agreed.

"We leave it to you," Cana said, wiping her tears and the group ran off.

Bluenote glared at Gildarts "So you're Gildarts,"

Gildarts just glared back.

Erza breathed heavily "Damn, he's strong. And I'm still barely at full strength,"

Azuma smirked "Is that all you have Erza Scarlet, I want a real challenge,"

Erza's eyes narrowed and she requipped her Flame Empress armor. "Enough of talk let's go,"

"Good, I take pleasure that I get to destroy both She-Devil Mirajane, and Titania Erza," Azuma smirked. The two then jumped and charged at each other.

Erza slashed at Azuma, but the man dodged it, smirking. Azuma then used a tree root to bind Erza's leg and throw her.

Erza backflipped and requipped into her Black Wing Armor. She flew directly at Azuma, but once again she was bound by tree roots and tossed her aside like it was nothing.

BLEEVE

It was then Erza was hit by an explosion to her face sending her flying. After that attack, Erza requipped into her Morning Star Armor. She once again flew at Azuma this time dodging all the tree roots heading towards her.

Erza then brought her two swords together and aimed them at Azuma.

VENUS PHOTON SLICE

Erza fired a blast of magic at Azuma hitting the Grimoire mage directly. Azuma though recovered quickly and gained high ground over Erza. Azuma then gained a smirk as he looked down at Erza.

"What's so funny," Erza questioned.

"I've waited long to face a strong foe like you," Azuma smirked. "This is fun. I've heard stories of how strong and ferocious you are. I believe you and I are of the same breed, someone who only searches for strong opponents"

Hearing that Erza signed and requipped into her heart Cruz armor. "Sorry, but I don't agree to that, I don't fight in search of strong opponents. I fight in order to protect my friends," Erza declared. "And as I long as I have that I don't care if I'm the weakest in the world,"

Erza smirked "That kinda sounds contradictory,"

"You are rather interesting," Azuma said. "I wish I can fight you fair and square,"

"What does that mean," Erza questioned.

It was then the earth began to shake, and the trees around them began to move.

"What's going on," Erza said bewildered.

"This is my lost magic: Ark of Trees," Azuma declared." my explosions are caused by using the magic of the great land to compress tree roots,"

The ground beneath began to crack open.

"But that is not the true power of my magic," Azuma continued. "The true power of my magic is rooted in the earth, I control the magic within the Earth itself,"

"Control the magic power in the Earth," Erza said shocked.

"I only had one mission coming to this island," Azuma said. "And that is to take control of this island's magic,"

Erza's eyes widen "What,"

It was then the Earth beneath them began to crack. Erza's eyes widened more, seeing the Tenrou tree starting to collapse.

"What did you do to our sacred island," Erza shouted. It was then Erza fell to her knees she felt her magic power getting weaker.

"With the tree destroyed any chance Fairy Tail had of victory is over," Azuma declared. "Master Hades knows much about this island, especially that the Great Tenrou Tree is the source of Fairy Tail's magic power and with it gone, you will all begin to lose magic power, and all of Fairy Tail will be eradicated,"

"What," Erza shook.

"There you have it, the magic power of Tenrou island is now at my disposal, well Titiana your friends are on the verge of death and you are the only one who can save them,"

"Now do you have the power to save your friends," Azuma glared?

Erza glared back at Azuma with anger in her eyes.

"Now show me your power Titania Erza,"

Here we are chapter 9 what do you all think. The ending of this chapter was going to be different but decided to put that in a later chapter. Like previous, I'm cutting fights to save time, because most fights are probably going to be the same as the manga just with alterations and Natsu not being there.
