Chapter 10 Awakening

"Why do I feel so weak all of a sudden," Cana fell to her knees.

"I don't know ever since the tree came down, my magic feels drained," Lucy said.

"I feel so tired," Wendy groaned.

"Aye," Happy said and he and Carla were unable to fly.

"Damn, what's going on," Gray fell.

Ultear looked up at the tree falling "Azuma,"

"Hmm, well done Azuma-kun," Orochimaru smirked, seeing the tree fall.

"With the Tenrou tree gone, all of Fairy Tail will perish," Hades sipped his wine.

…

"What did you do to the Tenrou tree," Erza shouted at Azuma.

Azuma signed "As you see, my orders were to destroy it in order to eradicate Fairy Tail, your magic power is linked to the tree without your friends will all lose your magic power and they will die,"

"Bastard," Erza glared. "Why are you doing this,"

"Like I said they are my orders," Azuma told her.

"No, why to make so I am the only one who can fight," Erza questioned.

Azuma signed "as I said before, I want to fight you when you're serious, and if you win I'll restore your friends' power,"

"Are you willing to do that, I defeat you and everyone gets their magic back," Erza said.

Azuma nodded "Yes I am a man of my word, but that's only if you can defeat me,"

Erza's eyes narrowed."My friends will live," she then charged at Azuma requipping into Heaven's Wheel. "No matter what I will defeat you,"

HEAVEN'S WHEEL: BLUMENBLATT

Erza launched a dozen swords at Azuma but to her shock, the tree man used a giant root to block all the blades. Azuma then turned and fired a barrage if sharp leaves at Erza hitting her directly.

PHORIUM SEEKER

"AAAAHHH!" Erza screamed.

It was then Azuma fired branch spears at Erza.

LAUM SEEKER

Erza was stabbed and cut by the sharp branches, she screamed in pain. It was then a giant fist emerged from a tree root and punched Erza sending her flying. Erza managed to land on her feet and she saw several other tree fists were heading towards her, she quickly dodged them and requipped into her sonic armor.

Erza charged at Azuma cutting and slicing the tree roots in her way and slashed at his chest.

"GAH!" Azuma grunted.

Erza landed on her feet and charged at Azuma again, but the Dark Mage quickly shielded himself with roots, blocking Erza' attack.

It was then from the ground Erza's legs were grabbed by arms coming from the ground "What," Azuma revealed himself and smirked.

TOWER BURST

Erza was hit by an explosive tower of flames burning her. "AAAAAAHHHH!" she screamed. Erza fell to the ground, Azuma looking down on her. "Damn it, his magic power is incredible, I don't think my Armuda Fairy, and Purgatory armor will be enough," Erza was trying to think of a way to overpower Azuma but nothing came to mind. "Wait, that power I used to defeat Zancrow, but I still have no idea how I used it. All I remember is a voice and a fox,"

"Done talking to yourself," Azuma said.

"What can I do against him? I can't defend against him." Erza then came to a decision and requipped her Clear Heart and Benizakura "I need to put all of my power into this sword," Erza glared at Azuma. "Without my defense, all I have is this blade,"

Azuma then felt Erza pouring her power into her blade Erza charged at Azuma screaming with determination.

BENIZAKURA

"If I lose Fairy Tail will fall," Erza charged at Azuma dodging the tree roots he sent, but her leg was caught and she was bound "Damn it, I can't move,"

"I release all of the magic of Tenrou Asleep with in the Earth," Azuma chanted

TERRA CHRYMAL

Erza was caught in a powerful explosion. Once the dust cleared Erza fell, with a snickering Azuma.

"You have fallen Tititana," Azuma smirked.

"Damn it, I couldn't do anything against him," Erza was fading into unconsciousness.

"Erza don't lose,"

Erza's eyes shot open and then felt herself starting to move "That voice, Jellal, but how,"

"How are you standing," A shocked Azuma shouted.

"No it can't be Jellal, you're just clinging on to memories of the past," Erza started to stand "Right now you have to focus, you need to stand up and win," Erza stood strong in front of Azuma shocking the dark mage.

Erza charged at Azuma prepared to slash him down, but Azuma blocked the attack. The two fought and Azuma couldn't help but smirk. "I'm actually excited for once,"

It was then once again Erza was bound by Azuma's tree roots."Erza Scarlet, you have fought bravely I will not forget it."

"I'm not done," Erza declared, it was then memories of her past flashed in her mind."I will not die here,"

Azuma glared "You have no choice in that matter,"

TERRA CHRYMAL

It was then once again Erza was caught in the explosive attack. "Is this it, is this how I die," Erza felt herself floating in an empty white space.

"Are you really giving up now,"

Erza's eyes widened, she then saw in front of her was Natsu. After that more images of her friends appeared before her. "Natsu, everyone, right I can't die yet,"

"You are a correct brat,"

Erza's eyes widen hearing another voice not one of her friends but it was familiar "That voice its the same as before,"

It was then a red-orange aura appeared before in the shape of a fox head. "I will grant you this power once again, and make sure you don't die using it, you have people waiting for you, remember you're not just protecting your friends"

Erza was shocked by this but she nodded "Right," she felt the red aura surrounding her. "How could I have forgotten, I'm not protecting everyone me," it was then Erza destroyed Azuma's attack shocking the man, he now saw Erza was coated in a red aura. As Erza charged at Azuma, her surrounding power destroying the roots attempting to grab her, images of friends appeared behind her supporting her.

"What the" Azuma shook, "What is this, Tenrou's magic is protecting her," it was then his eyes widened further. "What is this power," Azuma then felt him see a giant fox head appearing around Erza.

ROAR

Azuma though smiled "I see it's their bond as a guild that makes them stronger not the individual well done,"

Erza screamed in determination and charged Azuma slicing him across his chest, sending the tree man falling and Erza stood in victory cloaked in red aura.

Erza then jumped down where Azuma had landed, the man on his back bleeding from the chest.

"I won," She said. "Now return everyone's magic,"

Azuma smirked "I know," it was then Erza saw that Azuma was somehow fusing with the earth.

"Your body," Erza said.

"It's the side effect of my lost magic," Azuma explained. "I've used all my magic already,"

Erza looked down "I see, by chance do you know Jellal,"

"That was the one Ultear controlled, yes," Azuma asked, and Erza just nodded "I see, a terrifying person, someone who Master Hades trusts greatly, is this Jellal special to you," Erza nodded.

"Why were you all after Zeref," Erza questioned.

"To find the true source of all magic," Azuma simply answered.

"Source of all magic," Erza said, confused.

"There is something else Erza Scarlet," Azuma said.

"What," Erza responded.

"There is someone in Grimoire far more dangerous than Master Hades," Azuma told her.

Erza was shocked by this, there is someone even more of a threat than Grimoire's master "Who is it,"

"Orochimaru," Azuma answered "He already got, what he wanted from here,"

"What, what is it," Erza shouted.

"Your friend, Natsu Dragneel," Azuma told her.

Erza's eyes widen further "What, What happened to Natsu,"

"He," but Azuma didn't get to finish as he finally finished fusing with the earth, and in his place was a tree.

Erza was shaking, something happened to Natsu. "Natsu,"

Gray held Juvia in his arms protecting her from Ultear who was about to kill her "I knew it all that stuff about your mom was bullshit,"

Ultear smiled "I see, it seems you're not a complete idiot after all,"

"I swore to never use that magic against anyone," Gray declared, "No matter what Ur's will is, I have my own. The will to live among my friends,"

Ultear signed "You truly aren't a fool, and I was close to getting rid of Hades, I truly didn't want to fight you because you're Ur's student, but you've chosen to die in the cruelest way possible,"

Gray ripped off his shirt "Bring it on Bitch, I'll teach you manners in your mother's place,"

Ultear smirked and started to power up "I should warn you, I am the leader of the Seven Kins of Purgatory, someone like you has no…,"

Gray interrupted Ultear with an ice gauntlet punch to the face, shocking her and Meredy.

"Ultear," Meredy cried.

"Don't worry about me," Ultear shouted "Take Zeref and leave,"

"Yes ma'am," Meredy nodded, taking the black-haired man.

"Juvia," Gray shouted.

Juvia then instantly shot up, "Yes Gray-sama, to be awakened by your voice, it would have better if it was a kiss,"

"Forget about that, go after them," Gray yelled, pointing at the fleeing Meredy.

"Yes sir," Juvia started to run but fell. "Ah, my leg,"

"Juvia," Gray shouted.

"I'm fine, if it's Gray-sama's order, I will fulfill it," Juvia then started to creepily crab walk after a fleeing Meredy.

After they vanished into the forest Ultear jumped and kicked Gray in the face. Gray then put his fist in his palm.

ICE MAKE LANCE

Ultear waved her hands "I will Fast Forward the time of your ice, Evaporate,"

FAST FORWARD

It was then Gray's ice suddenly evaporated shocking the ice mage.

ICE MAKE HAMMER

FAST FORWARD

Once again Gray's ice evaporated. "What the hell is going on,"

Ultear smirked "Isn't it obvious, it's my magic Arc of Time. A magic I learned in order to counter molding magic, A magic I learned to kill my mother,"

"To kill Ur," Gray said shocked. It was then memories of a crying Ur flashed before his eyes. It was then dozens of crystal balls surrounded Gray.

"I've always hated my mother," Ultear glared.

FLASH FORWARD

Gray was then hit by all the crystal balls, Gray tried to defend himself but he was constantly hit by the crystal balls at fast speeds. "Ur always thought about you," he shouted.

"And your point is," Ultear fired more crystal balls.

"Its sad, all the things your mother can't convey to you, its so sad," Gray told her.

Gray tried to throw a few punches at her, but she easily dodged them and she then threw him into.

Ultear smirked "This will be a physical battle now that your ice is sealed,"

Gray stood up breathing heavily, "No I'll defeat you with ice, with Ur's magic,"

Ultear smirked "You can't my arc of time magic fast forwards the time of your ice, no matter what you do your ice will evaporate,"

"No," Gray created an ice blade on his arms ``I believe in Ur's magic," it was then to her shock Gray struck himself with his ice blade, and the blades started to turn red. : Your Darkness I will seal it," he declared. Gray then charged at Ultear prepared to attack.

Ultear laughed "I told you it was useless," Ultear tried to evaporate Gray's ice but was shocked that nothing happened. "What,"

It was then Gray slashed at her with the ice blades and no matter what she did her magic couldn't affect the ice.

"How is this possible? Red ice, it can't be," Ultear said. "He froze his own blood,"

ICE BLADE: SEVEN SLICE DANCE

Ultear was knocked back "Despite the broken bones, and torn flesh, he still has this much tenacity, but nevertheless," Ultear managed to get back on her feet and put her fist in her palm.

Gray's eyes widen "That stance,"

"I cannot lose, not until I reach the great land of Magic," Ultear declared.

ICE MAKE ROSEN CRONE

Gray was hit by a spiral of giant ice roses and thorns "This is Ur's spell,"

Gray fell to the floor but couldn't help but laugh "Never thought I see that again, well its to be expected you are her daughter,"

Ultear's anger grew "SHUT UP!"

Gray broke out of the ice and dived at Ultear and tackled her to the ground "What the hell happened to make you this way,"

"I said shut up, like you understand," Ultear shouted. Memories of Ultear's past flashed through her mind being abandoned by her mother, being experimented on and crying when returning home one day to find her mother was happy without her, then learning magic from Hades.

"I did this so that I can change everything, erase my cursed fate so that I can find happiness, I will complete the great world of magic," Ultear was hit by one of Gray's ice attacks. She was prepared to strike back but she stopped when she heard a voice.

"Please help me,"

"That voice is," Ultear was in shock as she was hearing her mother's voice. It was then suddenly Ur's memories flooded into her. They were different from her's, her mother didn't abandon her but left her at the facility to be treated for great power and her illness. She saw mother breaking down in tears. "She thought I was dead, am I seeing her memories," she thought as she drifted in the ocean."this isn't how I remember it,"

ICE MAKE GUNGUNRI

Ultear didn't move but now sees herself trapped in an ice spike with her only head and arms and legs not being frozen. It was then Gray floated back up to the surface.

"Ur, told me a story about you, it was only one time but I remember it," Gray told her "She told me when you were born, she felt a great light heal her heart, she dreamt a future of hope for you. She saw your future held infinite possibilities, She was so happy with the power of your life, that she couldn't stop shedding tears,"

Ultear then found herself starting to cry, and the ice broke freeing her "I wanted to go to the great magic world and return to the time before I hated my mother," she started to cry. "I just wanted to see my mother again,"

The two then returned to the land, and Gray patched himself up "Our fight is done, but this battle is far from over,"

"You can't win against him, Hades is too powerful," Ultear told him.

Gray nodded "I know, that's why I won't fight by myself, I'll fight alongside my friends, and I have a question for you as well,"

"What is it," Ultear responded.

"Who is Orochimaru, and what does he want with Natsu," Gray questioned.

Ultear was surprised by this "Orochimaru is a dangerous mad scientist, it is believed he had lived for thousands of years," Gray was shocked by this. "Natsu, he's the one Orochimaru gave the curse mark to and survived. Then your friend is already gone,"

"What," Gray said.

"You can't save him, if he's fallen into Orochimaru's hands then it's already too late, that man is far more terrifying than Hades," Ultear answered "Your friend has probably fallen into darkness,"

Gray's eyes narrowed "No I don't believe that, I have faith in Natsu. I know he won't easily fall into an enemies hands and join up with them,"

"You don't understand, Orochimaru knows how to manipulate someone to get what he wants," Ultear said.

Gray turned and started to walk. "I don't care who this guy is, I'm going to stop him and Hades, then save my friend," Gray then walked away into the forest heading towards the airship.

Erza ran through the forest heading towards the airship "Natsu please be okay,"

Lucy, Happy, and Wendy who had arrived at the base camp looked towards the sky feeling the rain pour on them. "Natsu,"

"Nii-chan what is this," a little boy pulled out a cloth which had a symbol of a fan on it, the top half red and the bottom white.

A young boy with black hair smiled and kneeled down "That's the symbol of mother's clan, the Uchiha,"

"Uchiha, I thought our last names were Dragneel," the boy said.

"Yes, we took our father's last name, our mother's last name is Uchiha," the brother explained. "There's also a story behind the clan too,"

"A story I want to hear," the boy smiled.

The brother smiled "Well the story lies in your eyes,"

"My eyes, what does that mean," the boy asked.

The brother just smiled and pats his little brother's head "Don't worry you'll soon enough Natsu"

Natsu's eye shot open and the casket he was sealed in broke open. Natsu felt power surging through him "I feel so much power,"

"Hmm," Orochimaru smirked. "It seems you've finally awakened"

Natsu-kun
