Victor John Foxfire: Johan could absolutely smell Scourge. While Sonic and Scourge smell similar, the mutation has changed the scent ever so slightly for Scourge. As for the Crystal… If you look closely, and you read everything carefully… you'll see I messed up. I didn't realize Anarchy Beryl wasn't purple, which I assumed. I fixed it, but that's definitely my bad.

Tails is acting out of anger, his heart is completely broken from Sonic's words. The two were falling apart from the very start of the story, but Sonic drove the nail in the coffin in his brief moment of anger. As for the White Emerald, it is very controlled about where effects flow. If you aren't included In the wish, you won't deal with the effects. Fiona was told to be there, because of Sonic's mental state, which is why his quills launched everywhere. Technically, hedgehog's shouldn't lose their quills, but if you squeeze a bottle hard and fast enough, you can shoot the cap off, because he went into defense mode so suddenly.

I chose the mecha-Sally arc Normal Sally design for most of the story, but for this segment, it's Sally design from birthday bash with a ribboned braid(One really large braid down the back).

MerendinoEmilano:I really love writing these emotional chapters. I love to show how everyone is thinking and working. I love writing emotion and turmoil.

EDsonic: Ah, that would be nice wouldn't it. Unfortunately, this is angst, not hurt/comfort. The wound is going to bleed, inside and out.

/*-*/

The Room was dark, but Sonic really didn't want to sit in a bright room. He just sat there, looking at the head of his father. His dad had been so close. A few more miles. Sonic decided the dark was best.

Julian had always told Sonic to work his way up to a nice house, with nice clothes, and a full fridge. Sonic got all of it. He filled out every check box. Sonic's house was massive, he could get nice clothes whenever he wanted, and he was never going hungry.

Jules almost got to see it. Five miles away… five miles…

Sonic gazed over next to his bed. The metal pieces all jaggedly attached together. But they didn't fit. None of the pieces fit. He tried and tried to put his father back together, but none of the pieces fit!

Sonic felt his throat tighten, like someone was choking him. But he knew that no one was in the room. Sonic locked himself up, his arms becoming jagged, and Sonic grunted from the pain within his chest. It hurt, it hurt terribly.

Sonic gasped again.

YOU DESERVE WHAT EVER HAS YOU FEELING SO SAD!

Tails… Tails had struggled with him. Tails stopped him from seeing Sally. It was his fault! Sonic felt his anger boiling yet again. Sally? She promised to help him if he needed it. He needed it, and where was she? Of course she wouldn't care about him. She only cared when she needed his help.

She was a greedy, manipulative little chipmunk. How'd he miss it? Of course. She and her brother were using him the whole time. They were laughing at his suffering.

"Sonic… Come on, talk to me!" Sally's voice was full of a well faked concern. She'd had plenty of practice.

Sonic felt like throwing up. Tails had been there to block him. He probably knew all along. No… He didn't know all along, but he was certainly enjoying it. Sonic's dad practically raised the little freak, and this was his repayment. Sonic was ready to pound the bed. If only his limbs weren't so stiff.

His father's lifeless head stared back at him. He was just too far away. No… Scourge was too close. Scourge was there, and he attacked Sonic's family. He was to blame. He deserved to suffer for everything. Sonic felt his heart rate increasing as he boiled.

Then… There was Fiona. That one… that one cut deep. She knew, she had to have. Fiona was talking with someone. That someone was Scourge, they were plotting to hurt him. They were plotting to kill his dad. She was a total bitch. A monster, and he wanted her to be good. He actually believed for a moment that she could be good.

Sonic felt the water in his eyes threating to finally pour. He couldn't decide if he was furious or grief-filled.

"Sonic… Please, let's talk. I know something is wrong… You don't shut yourself away like this. You don't have outbursts… what happened?" Sally's gentle voice rang through the door.

Sonic grit his teeth. What could he do? Who could he really count on?

Sonic heard the sound of dripping from his bathroom. Sonic dared to creak his neck, listening to it pop slightly as he saw the red fox in the dark doorway. Her silver dress had been drenched, to the point of becoming almost see-through as it hugged her fur. Sonic felt his heart rate increase, his fight or flight instinct building up.

"GET OUT! YOU WANT SCOURGE SO BAD, GO WITH HIM!" Sonic shouted, feeling a drop drip down his face.

"Sonic, I'm sorry." Fiona's voice was pained. She seemed to be scarred of him. She was smart.

Sonic forced himself to his feet, "STOP LYING TO ME! YOU'VE LIED TO ME EVERY SECOND WE'VE KNOWN EACH OTHER!" Sonic shouted, his throat hurting as air struggled to make it down. His words were shaky and hard to pronounce.

Fiona balled her fist and let out a sigh, her face suddenly came down, sadly and pitifully. Sonic felt his anger burn hotter than before. He had trusted her…. Now she was there to gloat.

"Alright… the truth. Ask me anything, and I'll tell you." Fiona growled, her face contorting to a tragic scrunch.

Sonic growled, "Don't… Don't. Just go… be with Scourge, do whatever. I don't care anymore!" That was a lie. He was angry and absolutely wanted payback.

Fiona blurted out, "YES, OK! I talked with Scourge!" She let those words hang in the air, her form sagging.

Sonic heard Sally bang on the door, "Sonic, please talk to me!" She sounded desperate.

Sonic glared at Fiona. She might be telling the truth

Sonic felt conflicted. He could almost believe she actually felt bad. Right, like Fiona ever felt bad. IT was all a lie.

Fiona pleaded with him, "Please Sonic, listen to me. I want to help out."

Help out? Help out? Sonic had enough of her "helping out". His father was…

Sonic shook his head, perishing the thought. He felt his body clenching. He really wanted to strangle her. She was always plotting something. And the worst part was that he actually wanted to give her a chance.

Fiona grit her teeth and balled her fist. She seemed so furious, ready to get violent. Sonic was ready as well. He wanted to pound her into the dirt.

Then Fiona sighed, "Fine… hate me." She walked closer to him. The distance was closing and Sonic was ready to spike up.

"I deserve it, I guess. You never got to take out your frustrations when I left you." Fiona was getting closer.

Sonic bore his teeth. He could feel foam coming out of his mouth as his anger began to boil up. He was ready.

"But I'll be here… all night if you need me to. You don't need to be alone." Fiona gave a sad smile. That broke something inside Sonic. He wanted to trust someone.

"Did you talk to Scourge… at all after we found you?" Sonic gasped, feeling his throat tighten.

Fiona licked her lips nervously, before nodding, "We talked, several times. I didn't see the harm in keeping my option open."

Sonic was ready to jump on her, but he found himself… satisfied with her answer. "Did he ever talk about… this." Sonic choked out the last word. His arms were burning from clenching so hard.

Fiona gulped, but nodded… slower, less confidently, "We talked about a distraction…. I never got the details… I guess I never wanted them."

Sonic found that one harder to believe… but her face wasn't lying. She was actually… crying?

Sonic had one more question, "Do you hate me?" Sonic growled it, in an effort to cover up the other emotion that threatened to spill out.

Fiona blinked, seemingly shocked by the proposition, "What?"

Sonic asked louder, "Do you hate me? Do you want me to suffer? Why do you keep hurting everyone in my life?" Sonic felt something crack. His eyes began to spill out.

He felt himself pressed against something soft, as arms wrapped around him.

"I've been a jerk. I should have told you about Scourge… I was scared, tempted by the idea of that dangerous life he offered me. But I don't hate you anymore. I don't want you to suffer anymore." Fiona held him there, his head being pushed into her chest. She rested her head on his, whispering into his ear, "I chose you over him."

Sonic felt it break, burst… explode. He screamed into her chest. It wasn't fair! It wasn't right! Scourge took his dad from him. He took a piece Of Sonic. It wasn't fair that Sonic's best friend hated him. It wasn't fair that he was given the world to take care of.

Tears poured out of his eyes… like a child. He was crying like a little kid.

Sonic felt her soft, drenched tail wrap around him, seeming to stroke his back as she hugged him. His scream finally wore out with his breath. He sucked in, which probably felt weird for Fiona, but Sonic left no time for her imagination to wander, before letting out another scream.

The sound of burning filled the room, as the person he least wanted to see came in, "SONIC!" Sally shouted, before her eyes landed on the metal head on his bed. She was speechless.

Which was perfect, because as soon as Sonic pulled himself out of Fiona's bosom, he had words for her. "GET OUT! I NEVER WANT TO SEE YOU EVER AGAIN!" Sonic shouted, the roar echoing out of the door way that had been cut open.

Sally seemed to ignore his anger, and gasped, "Oh… oh Sonic. I'm sorry." She looked at him pitifully, as her eyes spotted the mechanical paper weight he had tried to put together.

Sonic shouted, "Get out!" Sonic's shout turned back into a rather tearful cry. He felt so pathetic, useless, helpless in that moment.

Sally recoiled, "S-Sonic, it's me-"

Sonic growled, "I needed you! You said "If you need anything, just ask and I'll help". Well I needed help, and you weren't there!"

Sally recoiled, raised her blades in defense, "I… I had…. I was…." She was speechless. Of course she was. Sally had time for everyone… except him. She could keep the peace with two armies, but if he need her to jump rope to save his life…

"Sonic, I understand you-" Sally started, her face pleading with the realization of how bad the two's relationship had gotten.

Sonic shouted, "YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING! YOU NEVER LOST ANYONE!" Sonic gasped, as Sally flinched from each verbal beating he dished out. Sonic panted, "YOU-"

"Sonic stop!" Fiona's voice ushered in a confused state for both Sonic and Sally.

Sonic felt his arms locking up as more tears poured out of his face. He hated them… and loved them… which was the hate hurt so bad.

Sally cautiously entered the room.

Sonic balled his fist, "YOU DON'T GET-"

"That you feel lost, like you want to hurt someone but aren't sure how to do it?" Fiona interrupted, her eyes piercing his soul. That was… a start of his emotional state. Fiona wasn't done, "Like Everyone around you somehow plotted your downfall, and that they all deserve to be punished?"

Sonic remained quiet, but Sally seemed to get more attentive, her fingers getting closer as she pushed the table out of the way.

"You can't sit alone Sonic. If you blame her, you'll hate her. You'll find yourself wanting vengeance at any cost." Fiona started before sucking in a breath, "Then you'll start plotting. You'll dedicate every second to get that perfect revenge that hurts her, and everyone she loves. But you'll kill yourself too. You won't be the hero at the end. You'll be angry, hateful towards someone who could have helped you, if you only gave them a chance."

Sonic gazed up into her eyes. She gazed back. He understood all too well. Sonic pressed his face into her chest once again, "DAMN IT!"

He felt his anger boiling up, but unable to stay there. He was too broken to keep it up.

/*-*/

Sonic would have been considered the luckiest guy on mobius. He had two very attractive women keeping him company while he slept.

Fiona wanted to laugh at her own mental joke. Sonic was bad… really bad. His mind, his heart… they weren't right.

Even as he slept, sandwiched between Fiona and Sally, his quills flared up periodically. He had nightmares.

Fiona stroked his head as Sally stroked his side, trying to provide some sense of comfort. Fiona felt guilty. As distant as her responsibility for the attack was, she still had a role in it.

Fiona raised her head up, and Sally followed suit. Fiona mouthed, "Truce?"

Sally took a moment to decipher, before nodding, "For now."

It was good enough. Sonic was not exactly able to take the two's fighting. Fiona stroked the hedgehog's head. He was so tired. She couldn't blame him though.

Fiona felt his breathing against her heart. She felt… responsible for his pain. She had done a lot, and he had pushed her away because of it. The fact that he hadn't hurt was a blessing within itself.

Fiona saw him in Sonic's eyes. She saw Scourge in the eyes of man who hated everything. They shared the same shape, so it was easier, but there was more to it. Fiona loved the danger in a man's eyes. It stirred something in her, but time with Scourge taught her to take it in moderation.

Sometimes it was better to just climb a tree or dig a hole and hide. Wait for it to be over.

Sonic kept up the line, however. He seemed to have a wall between the two areas of anger and action. Fiona did, however, wonder how strong that wall really was. The Guy seemed so close to breaking.

A shadow loomed in the doorway. "What was all of th-" The voice cut off.

Fiona raised her head to see Tails, standing in the doorway, his pupils tiny as he looked at the robotic head at the end of the bed. His eyes wandered up, looking horrified, before turning around and storming off.

Fiona wanted to know what was so bad? That, however, would require moving, and disturbing the sleeping hedgie next to her.

Fiona raised her head up again, and glanced at Sally, who seemed to share her concerns by the look in her face.

Sally slowly pulled off Sonic, and Fiona felt Sonic clench up around her, causing her gasp. Sally walked off and Fiona raised her ear. She hoped her sensitive hearing hadn't gone out.

"Come on Tails, You two need each other now more than ever."

"No! He wants to…. He wants to…. He's alone!"

"Tails, he needs his little buddy-"

"I'm not his little buddy! He Deserves this!"

"Tails, is that the last thing you would want to say to him?"

There was a silence between them.

"I hope he dies." Tails' voice was wounded, and almost sobbing, "I hope both of them do. I hope his ribs get crushed into dust, I hope his legs get broken! I hope he feel how much pain and hopeless he caused me!"

"Tails, you don't mean that!" Sally was taking firmer tone with the fox.

"I do. I hate him!"

Sonic jerked, holding Fiona tighter. Fiona stroked his head to soothe him back to sleep.

Sally's form slumped in the doorway, her face re-enforced Fiona's concerns. Tails would come around… he'd have to. The two couldn't hate each other forever… that was impossible… right?

Fiona nestled her head on Sonic's feeling the slight prick of quills gradually turn into a smooth, soft padding. She had a hard time sleeping, but eventually the warmth of a hedgehog and blanket helps convince her body to slow down.

She stood there, not at the split in the road anymore, but at the nice, small house. She heard crying inside. Fiona turned and saw the Dark cloaked figure in the distance, waving their hands up and down, but the voice not reaching her.

Fiona pushed inside the house, and saw the white cloaked figure, sitting on a couched, stroking a knight who laid there, weeping on the cloaked figure's lap. His anguish was… terrible. He seemed be in golden armor, with shark quills in the shape of a hedgehog. Fiona imagined he could be quite the powerful warrior, but now, he looked pathetic.

The white cloaked figure continued to stroke his head, paying no mind to Fiona, who's dress now looked a little lighter, and the blood seemed to wash out somehow.

The storm boomed overhead, but instead of red blood… it was clear… soothing. The droplets that struck the window had a smokey grey color, as if absorbing the poisons and toxins from the air.

A flash appeared in the room, and Fiona saw the glowing figure standing over them. The white cloaked figure looked up, and nodded, before stroking the knight's head. Slowly, his cries died down, no longer tearing him apart.

Fiona's eyes opened, and saw the lifeless eyes of the hedgehog starring back at her. It was time for them to wake up. Sonic… Sonic probably needed something to eat, but he also probably wasn't hungry.

Fiona pressed her forehead against Sonic's, "Are you ready?"

"To do what?" Sonic gasped, his voice so sad and empty.

"Go see your guests? Tell them the…news… about your dad?" Fiona asked softly.

Sally stirred on Sonic's other side, seeming to wake up from their talk.

Sonic's frown deepened as he sighed, "I guess I have to."

Sally ran her fingers down his arm, seeming to grasp him further, as if to let the hedgehog know she was there, and wanted to keep him close. Sonic nodded, and stood up.

Fiona realized as they walked out of his destroyed doorway just how long they had slept.

Sonic worked his way forward, looking at the ground, seeming to be lost in thought.

There, at the main entrance, Sonic stepped out onto the balcony over looking the main area. Fiona and Sally walked behind him, almost seeming like honor guards.

Sonic was immediately noticed, and then nobility who, had been eating and talking seemed to turn to face him. Sonic sighed, and Sally put a hand on his shoulder. He nodded at her and spoke, "I'm sorry everyone. I called this party, and…. I haven't been here… I'm sorry."

Sonic sighed again, "I'm sorry, my dad didn't make it." Sally felt her heart get crushed like a tomato from the sound of his voice. He had cried so much, Sonic ran out of tears. He couldn't cry anymore.

The nobles seemed confused. Lord Fennec stood up, "Do you mean to tell us that the guests of honor you proposed are not coming?"

Sonic glanced up at the fox, and Sonic said it, "He died."

Fiona watched the room turn on the lord who had made the accusation. Lord Fennec quickly slumped down at the room's horror at his callousness. He understood his error, and apologized, "My deepest condolences for you, my lord."

Sonic nodded, "I know you are disappointed. I'm sorry. I'm not that impressive." Fiona almost recoiled from that thought.

Sonic continued, "I don't have a big history to follow, or some big castle or name. I'm just me, and I owe my dad that much. I… I think I'm going to bury him. I guess it is rude to call the party short, but I can't let it stay like this. If you want to come, maybe see him before I… say goodbye, you can."

The freedom fighters all had pitiful looks on their face. All except for Tails, who wasn't there. Fiona saw him off in the corner, slumping his head against the wall.

As Sonic went to get everything set up, Fiona approached Tails, "Hey… Sonic needs his best friend right now."

Tails choked up, "Let him find him." Tails tried to sound so cold, his voice was clearly breaking.

Fiona growled, "Whatever beef you two have, it needs to go. You two are the unbreakable bond, come on. He needs his bond-mate."

Tails growled, "Leave me alone. I don't care." The Fox was crying, so Fiona knew that was a lie.

Fiona growled, "Fine… If you won't be there for him, I will. Maybe I'll take your spot." She hoped she could taunt Tails into helping.

"Fine, go ahead." Tails sighed.

Fiona stood there for a moment. She was amazed, blown away. She would have never imagined the little guy would be so… angry and stubborn. What happened?

I happened Fiona realized. She'd probably caused Tails to hate her, and he was taking it out on Sonic, because Sonic gave her a chance.

Fiona nodded, "Alright, well… I think you and his dad were close right? Don't be too angry to say goodbye."

Fiona walked out, and saw the grave had been dug. The Freedom Fighters had several abilities that made the task easy, but still, the amount of sweat and dirt was plentiful.

Fiona saw Sonic appear, with the Metal Pieces, setting up one by one into a shape that resembled Sonic's father.

The nobles all seemed confused. Then… Fiona saw Sonic's mother walk out. She looked… beautiful, in a tragic way. No dark veil or black dress. Just her standard, green dress she had brought to dance. She walked out, looking so sad, but firm, standing strong in the storm.

Fiona was blown away by her presence. The nobility parted for her; she carried the kind of confidence that shook royalty to the core.

Bernadette Hedgehog. The woman who bore the greatest Freedom Fighter ever to exist, pushed passed the crowd to, console her son. She stroked his head, and the two placed the metal pieces into the hole in the ground.

It was a messy sight, but Bernadette seemed to be like stone. Only someone who suffered would know how quick she was to breaking. Fiona knew, but still…

The metal pieces filled up the hole, and the last piece was the head. Sonic held it in his hands. He pressed his forehead against it, and passed it to his mother. Bernadette kissed the metal head on the forehead, and placed it ever so gently on the metal pile.

Sonic sighed, and spoke, "My dad…. Was strong. He was brave, and he kept me in line. I don't think anyone else could have done it. He was hurt, but he kept going, and he kept teaching me to keep going. I don't deserve this house, you do, Dad."

Sonic pulled away as the Coyote and Rabbit pushed the dirt over the steel. It was probably strange, burying essentially a badnik. But No one voiced their opinions.

Fiona saw the band that had come to play. It was a local group who played at a bar apparently, but they had a guitar. She found herself walking over to them.

What was she doing? Fiona had lost all control of her body, a force seemed to take over her. "Can I see that?"

The musician looked at his guitar reluctantly, and gave it to her. The wooden frame felt heavy, but Fiona's body seemed to return to her control.

She looked around, and saw how dreary the Freedom Fighters looked so down… depressed. Fiona got the idea… she hoped.

She strummed a couple of notes, to get everyone's attention. Then, she began to play a few notes at a time. Word's filled her mouth, seeming to come from the inside of her heart.

"~See my hands and look at my feet.!" Fiona muttered softly, her eyes landing on the blue hero, "~It's ok if it's hard to believe.~"

Fiona's eyes locked with Sonics, "I have faith that You'll do greater things." She saw his eyes lock up, ready to break down once again. "~It's my time to go, but before I leave.~"

Fiona began to notice the eyes of her former comrades, who she betrayed, and now stood attempting to be their equal, "~Go tell the world about me, I was dead but now I live.~"

Fiona adjusted her eyes to focus on Sonic, who shook. She hoped he was just sad, and not angry, "~I was dead but now I live.~"

Her eyes cast down to the hole in the ground, "~I've got to go now for a little while.~"

She turned her eyes up to Sonic, who seemed to listen so attentively, as if hoping for a bright side in this story, "~But Goodbye is not the end.~"

Fiona saw the Yellow fox watching from the window, his tails thrashing, both in anger and pain.

Fiona continued as the words filled her once again, "~Don't forget the things that I taught you.~" She closed her eyes. Strangely enough she didn't feel anymore words coming on. Then, the strangest thing came about.

Johan's deep voice bellowed, "~I've conquered death and I hold the keys. ~" He raised his fist triumphantly, "~Where I go, you go too someday.~"

Fiona found the words once again, crying out in her heart, "~But there's much to do, here before you leave~"

Fiona raised her voice again, "~Go Tell the world about me, That I was dead, but now I live!~"

Fiona sighed, "~I've got to go now for a little while." Then her eyes locked with Sonics, as his suffering transferred to her, igniting her pain and anguish. A voice filled her heart and head, and she knew what to say next, "~But goodbye is not the end of journey, the end of the road.~"

She saw Sonic freeze, desperate to hear her finish her song, "~My spirit is with you, where ever you go. You have a purpose, and I have a plan. I'll make you this promise, I'll come back again~"

Fiona took a breath to calm down, as Sonic began to break down, crying once again, dropping to his knees in front of the grave, "Go tell the world about me, I was dead but now I live. I've got to go now for a little while.~"

Fiona saw the friends surround Sonic she felt a smile on her face. He would be alright, "~But goodbye is not the end.~" She finished, and bowed her head. Fiona gave the guitar back to the stunned musician, and went to comfort her… friend.

That felt weird, after hating him so long, he was her friend.

Johan addressed the party. He existed in the party. He ate food at the party. He did not understand the party.

Johan was familiar with burial rites. He had buried many high-chiefs in the old lands. They had men and women who wept, because they were concerned about their rights being trampled upon the successors. This was not one of those moments.

As Johan understood it, the father of Sonic, who must have surely been strong, did not administer, nor rule anything. He was just a man. Why did they weep for him?

He died a warrior, was that not grounds for celebration?

Sally seemed to be crying. Everyone seemed to be crying. Johan trudged around, finding Sonic standing up, and thanking these soft "nobility" for their attendance.

"Why do you weep?" Johan cocked his head.

Sonic stopped and turned his attention to the Wolverine, "What? I don't have the energy for this." Sonic gasped, exasperated. If he was so tired after simply speaking, perhaps he needed more drilling.

The red fox approached, "Sonic…"

Johan kept his distance. He was not satisfied with the Garden Defender's answer. The nobility seemed to leave, without much purpose or statement.

Johan wanted to pursue the Strange garden defender, who smelled like Sonic. He was eager to, but The scent had grown cold. He wanted to avoid Johan, he could. That was an unfortunate limitation that Johan had to acknowledge: he could not out pace the Garden Defenders.

The only one's left were the standard brigade of warriors, and the red Fox, who was still isolated, but seemed to be more accepted.

Johan approached Sonic once again, "Why do you host these feasts?"

Sonic slumped, "I wanted my dad and mom to see I'd made it… Now… he never got the chance. That's why we had this party. I had this stupid idea that dad would make it just fine. That's on me."

"Did he not die fight? What is there to weep about in that?" Johan asked, still not understanding why he was so sluggish and sad.

Sonic growled, "Because he's gone! Don't you miss someone when they are gone?" He seemed to get tears pouring out of his face.

The red fox nodded at Johan, "He died fighting… but it doesn't mean we don't feel something about him… passing."

Sonic jerked up, "What do you mean, 'He died fighting?' How do you know that?"

Fiona jerked back, and quickly answered, "Scourge met with me during the party. He had a lot of burns-"

Sonic began to pant, growling aggressively. Johan was suddenly interested to see how things were going to go.

Sonic steadied himself, "You're right, Johan. People need to die. I'll kill him. He's gotta be close." Sonic began to pant. The remaining members glanced at the Garden defender, their eyes bleeding concern.

Sonic stood up, and Johan grabbed his chest with one arm, "No, you will not."

Sonic glanced up, "WHAT DO YOU MEAN? THIS IS WHAT YOU WANTED RIGHT? YOU ARE RIGHT, OK!"

Johan snarled, and pushed Sonic down, "I will not stop you, but ask yourself why you wish to kill him. Do you wish for justice to be done? Or are you simply a slave to your emotions?"

Sonic growled, tears welling up and his voice becoming small, "What's the difference? He'll be dead either way!"

Johan growled, "The difference… is that one is an act you will honor, the other is an act you will regret. You will kill because you know I am right, not because you succumb to your anger, and become weak with regret."

Sonic seemed to pant down, "What do I do then? Let him go about, throw him in jail?"

Johan thought for a moment. Many came to comfort the blue champion, but they all shared a scornful gaze. No matter, their views changed nothing. Sonic continued to cry, seeming to be in agony. Pathetic.

Johan found the truth, "Let him recover. Grow in strength. When both of you are at your greatest, break him. Destroy him in every possible regard. If you wish to kill him, do so, but leave no excuse for his defeat. Let him be at his greatest, and still be broken. Destroy his mind, his confidence, his will. And if suites your blood lust, destroy his body and take his life. Then, you will have full vengeance."

Sonic looked up Johan, and for once, Johan saw the light in his eyes. He understood. Perhaps there was hope, as he was swarmed by his doting followers.

Johan did not care, he was bored, and found more pressing matters to attend to, like an idea that surfaced in his mind with regards to his flying fortress: Dora.

/*-*/

So, I know you were wanting something like the Werehog, but the reality was just sad. Sonic was at his limit, trying to stay stoic and composed from emotional blow after blow. He struggled to keep himself crying.

Sonic is hedgehoging, curling up to avoid any contact, all the while Johan's efforts in the kingdom are in full swing.

This marks the end of the surge. We'll go back to regularly scheduled chapters. I also might have another story coming soon, so if you love my writing style which has the consistency of the weather in Florida, maybe keep an eye out this Friday? Wink wink.

Please leave a review and tell me what you thought of the chapter. I welcome criticism of all kinds. or just PM, I'll take it, and respond in private if you feel upset about something and are worried that my one neckbeard fan will mob you.
