Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 30 of God of Lies and Mischief and the Woman of Many Faces. We're now in the very first part of Captain America The Winter Soldier. Thank you to those who have left reviews and I promise there will be some Loki soon, but I'm not revealing where he's going to make his return at least not yet. I hope that you guys will like this next chapter. Without further ado Chapter 30. Enjoy!

Chapter 30

Natasha looked in the rear view mirror to look at the back seat where Everleigh sat silently looking down at her hands that were shaking. "You know you never mentioned to me what had happened when you were taken to Asgard." Natasha said as she drove down the road.

Everleigh looked up, keeping her face calm and cool and collected even though her heart ached inside of her chest. "And we're talking about this, why?" She questioned as her hair changed from blonde to a dark shade of jet black. She swallowed the lump in her throat as she changed her hair back to the blonde that it was before. Her hands gripped tightly at her sides as she tried to keep herself calm. She didn't want to worry Natasha about what had happened.

"You haven't been the same, Leigh." Natasha said, letting out a soft breath.

"I'm fine Natasha. We're here to get Steve and go on this mission."

Natasha gripped the wheel tightly as she sped up driving down the road.

Everleigh looked out the window, pursing her lips together.

Natasha pulled up her car near the curb and then rolled the window down to look out. "Hey, fellas. Either one of you know where the Smithsonian is? I'm here to pick up a fossil." Natasha teased lightly.

Steve shook his head lightly. "That's hilarious." Steve said as he walked over to the car and got into it.

Sam looked at Natasha and her car with an appreciative look liking the car and the women inside of it. "How you doing?"

"Hey." Natasha said with a small smile.

"Can't run everywhere." Steve mused with a small smile.

"No, you can't." He watched as the car pulled away and drove away.

Steve looked towards the backseat. He saw Everleigh sitting there silently. "Hey, haven't seen you in a while…" Steve said softly.

Everleigh's head shot up to look at Steve.

"How are you doing?" He asked softly not knowing the things that she had been through since the last time he had seen her. He didn't know that she had a trip to Asgard and what had happened there.

Everleigh cleared her throat keeping herself calm and she forced a smile on her lips. "I'm fine." She said softly as she shifted a little in the backseat.

"That's good to hear." He said with a soft smile.

Everleigh gave him a small smile trying to force the heartache that she felt inside. She had to push it away because they had a mission to handle and get people safe and sound.

CAWSCAWS

They flew over the Indian Ocean with Brock Rumlow with some other Shield Agents.

Everleigh shifted some crossing her arms feeling weird about being with a group this large

"The target is a mobile satellite launch platform: The Lemurian Star. They were sending up their last payload when pirates took them, 93 minutes ago." Brock explained to them.

"Any demands?" Steve questioned looking at Brock.

"A billion and a half."

"Why so steep?"

"Because it SHIELD's."

"So it's not off-course, it's trespassing."

"I'm sure they have a good reason." Natasha pointed out.

"You know, I'm getting a little tired of being Fury's janitor." Steve said, letting out a breath.

"Relax, it's not that complicated." Natasha said with a roll of her eyes.

"How many pirates?"

"Twenty-five, top mercs, led by this guy. Georges Batroc." Brock explained before showing them a photo of Batroc on the monitor.

Everleigh pursed her lips together into a thin line.

"Ex-DGSE, Action Division. He's at the top of Interpol's Red Notice. Before the French demobilized him, he had thirty-six kill missions. This guy's got a rep for maximum casualties."

"Hostages?" Everleigh questioned her head lifting up as she looked at Brock.

"Uh...mostly techs. One officer, Jasper Sitwell." He pulled up the photo of Jasper onto the monitor. "They're in the galley."

"What's Sitwell doing on a launch ship? Alright, I'm gonna sweep the deck and find Batroc. Nat, you'll kill the engines and wait for instructions. Rumlow, you sweep aft, find the hostages, get them to the life-pods, get 'em out. Let's move." Steve said to them firmly.

"STRIKE, you heard the Cap. Gear up."

They moved towards the end of the jet to Dive off of it.

Everleigh let out a soft breath as she moved towards the front of the jet knowing that she was to fly the jet with the other person.

"Secure channel seven." Steve's voice rang out over the coms.

"Channel Seven is secure." Everleigh called over the com as she worked on securing it fully for them. Everleigh sat down and looked out seeing that they were almost there. "Coming up by the drop zone, Cap." Everleigh said as she took the handles to fly the jet. She turned the jet around so they would be able to grab them from the launch ship.

"Status, Natasha?" Steve's voice rang out.

"Hang on!" Natasha's voice rang out. "Engine room secure."

"On my mark. Three. Two. One."

"Rumlow, where are the hostages?" Everleigh questioned over the coms.

"Hostages en route to extraction. Romanoff missed the rendezvous point, Cap. Hostiles are still in play." Brock said to her over the com.

"Copy that." Everleigh pursed her lips together knowing that it was impossible for Natasha to do such a thing.

"Natasha, Batroc's on the move. Circle back to Rumlow and protect the hostages." Steve's voice rang out. "Natasha!"

"Natasha come in." Everleigh said over the com worry washing over her as her eyes changed colors from blue to green. "Come in Cap. Did you find Natasha?"

"Yes, we're on our way, Everleigh." Steve said over the com.

"Copy that. We have all of the hostages on the jet we're just waiting for you two. Hurry it up and get out of there."

This is the end of Chapter 30. I hope that you guys enjoyed it. I know it is probably a bit bouncy and it probably isn't all that good. But I did try my best.
