Chapter 14 Cursed Dragon

Erza now cloaked in a red fox aura, her eyes a sharp red, short claws and fangs, her hair sharper, and six sharp whiskers. Natsu the fire dragon slayer, using the second stage Curse Mark and Dragon Force. The two former friends stared at each other.

"RAW!" Erza roared and charged at Natsu.

Natsu prepared to counter but in an instant, Erza appeared in front of him shocking him, and she clawed Natsu, forcing him back. "So fast, but…"

Erza charged at him again, but due to the Sharingan Natsu was more prepared and dodged her attacks with ease. Natsu smirked and punched her in the face but to his shock, she stood her ground. She then grabbed his arm and threw him across the room, in mid-air Natsu took a deep breath.

FIRE DRAGON ROAR

Natsu unleashed a powerful breath attack at Erza, Erza was hit full impact by the attack sending her to the other wall. The two stood back up, Natsu's eyes narrowed when he saw Erza get up. The burn marks on her were already healing here.

"That Red aura is healing her," Natsu thought.

Erza roared once again and charged at Natsu, she prepared a punch but Natsu grabbed her fist stopping it. "Just attacking like a wild animal isn't going to work,"

Erza glared and she unleashed another mighty roar, the sound wave of which shocked Natsu forcing him, the roar itself can be heard across the entire island.

"What was that," Cana said.

"Some kind of monster," Levy said.

"You guys heard that," Gray ran through the forest.

"Yeah it sounded like a roar," Happy flew.

"And it came from the airship," Lucy said.

"We have to hurry," Laxus grunted.

Erza once again charged at Natsu but this time faster than he could react and she tackled him to the ground destroying the flooring beneath them. Natsu's eyes narrowed and he grabbed Erza, he then unleashed an explosion of fire that consumed both of them.

Natsu panted as he looked at the collapsed Erza, but she slowly got up.

"Natsu," she uttered

Natsu glared and ignited his fist "I told you Erza, it's too late," He then punched her to the ground. Erza then headbutted Natsu in the gut sending him to the wall, it was then she summoned swords shrouded in the red aura.

Natsu's eyes narrowed and it was then out of his back appeared a giant demonic and draconic wing, and he used it to shield himself from the blades. The two then charged at each other once again, the two exchanging fists, Erza imploring a more wild animal-like fighting style aimlessly clawing at him. Natsu dodged one of her punches and ignited his fist in flames, but flames instead of their normal color it was an onyx black flame.

Natsu punches Erza in the face sending her flying, but after throwing a punch Natsu felt a pain in his body "What the hell," Natsu breathes heavily, he could feel his strength starting to drain more quickly "it seem using Dragon Force, and Curse Mark at the same time uses much more power than I thought,"

Natsu then stretched out his newly formed wings and he glared at Erza. Natsu once again felt the pain in his body again and remembered Sakon's words "My body won't last too long. I need to end this,"

Erza also stood back up, and her eyes widened "my arm is broken," she thought "I can't feel it,"

Natsu smirked "It seems your new power comes with risk as well huh, Erza,"

Erza's eyes narrowed at Natsu.

Natsu looked up at the destroyed roof of the airship "You know this isn't the ideal place for me, to have a battle with you if you'd just let me leave none of this would have happened. I would have chosen a more idyllic place, not some crummy airship." Erza just remained silent and glared at Natsu, and he smirked "right no time for talk, this will be the final blow. You know if it makes you feel better I will follow the rules of those who leave Fairy Tail,"

It was then memories of their past together went through their minds. The time they first met, to their first fight. The fight against Erigor, Lullaby, Galuna, Phantom Lord, Oracion Seis, Tower of Heaven, etc.

"Hey. Natsu, Gray I need your help on a mission,"

"If I do this mission with you, then fight me,"

"Fine, I can tell you've gotten stronger,"

"Unleash your hidden power Natsu,"

"You made Erza cry I won't forgive you,"

"Don't act high and mighty because you're S-Class,"

"I never once thought you were beneath me,"

"ERZA!"

"NATSU!"

It was then a memory of Zeref's cold stare that appeared in Natsu's mind, making his eyes narrow. He then took a breath and his fist once again engulfed in an onyx black flame. Erza in response breathed heavily and equipped her Benizakura and encased in Kyuubi's energy.

The two glared at each other, and in that instant then charged at each other, each ready with their final attack. Natsu then threw his fist forward and Erza brought her blade and the two attacks clashed.

BOOM

Outside the members looked towards where the explosion came from.

"What was that?" Lisanna shouted.

"An explosion," Cana said.

"It came from the airship," Levy yelled.

"Damn it,"

The three women turned and saw Gray and the others.

"Gray,"

"Lucy, Wendy, Happy, Carla, why are you guys here? I thought you were all on the airship," Cana said.

"And is that Laxus why is he here," Levy said.

"Laxus," Freed and the Thunder Legion said, shocked.

"No time, Erza is in trouble,"

Elsewhere on a boat floating away from the island, were Ultear and Meredy who reunited earlier also witnessed it.

"Was that," Meredy said.

Ultear nodded "It seems it's over Orochimaru won,"

Natsu and Erza's attack continued to clash, but to Erza's shock Natsu's attack broke Benizakura and his fist stabbed her chest, however, Erza's blade managed to scratch Natsu's cheek. The two were consumed by the explosion destroying the airship, and creating dark clouds in the sky.

Natsu and Erza then find themselves trapped in a space of light and just stare at each other, seeing each other's current form. In the staredown, they both saw guilt and sadness in each other's eyes. It was then taken back to their memories of children, both smiling and laughing with everyone in the guild. The two of them as children just looked at each other and smiled and laughed.

Once the light and dust cleared, Natsu was back in his normal form, and he looked over the unconscious Erza, a beam of sunlight shining on them. The beam of light then slowly started to vanish

Natsu looked at her, still carrying the cold, and emotionless face. "Erza, I.." Natsu then looked at the sky and rain fell on him and Erza. Natsu's eyes widened, he grabbed his shoulder in pain and coughed out blood. He fell to his knees, and now his face is directly in front of Erza's.

"It seems you have much to learn Natsu-Kun, but what a splendid performance," Orochimaru clapped. Natsu's eyes just narrowed at the sight of him. "Now let us go, your old friends will be here soon,"

Natsu simply nodded and stood up, he looked at Erza once again. He then turned away and followed Orochimaru into the darkness.

Much later Laxus and the others arrived and to their shock saw the destroyed airship. They managed to find unconscious Erza, and from seeing what's around them, they know Natsu is gone. Wendy, Happy, and Lucy had tears in their eyes, Gray clenched his in anger, Carla and Laxus were silent. Laxus then picked up the scarlet-haired mage, and he and the others decided to walk back to the camp.

"I'm sorry I was too late," Laxus muttered, and the group headed off to the camp.

Laxus looked back at the ocean "Natsu,"

On a far off smaller airship, Natsu was healing from his injuries from his fight with Erza. Natsu sat in a room in silence,

"Your mission is to defeat your brother Zeref, if he continues to live he will bring pain and despair,"

"You're still too weak,"

"With Orochimaru-sama you will gain power beyond imagination,"

Natsu's eyes narrowed "Zeref,"

"We can stop your brother together,"

"No, Erza. I will stop my brother on my own. With my own power, and I will kill him no matter what,"

As Natsu continued to walk into the shadows, he felt a strong presence, and he turned his eyes widened at what he saw coming.

"So Natsu is just gone," Lisanna shook.

"How can that be," Levy shivered.

"So he just up and decides to join a dark guild without question," Cana said.

Gray and the others gave a nod.

"Natsu," Happy cried, his best friend just left without a word seemingly abandoning him.

Lucy hugged Happy holding him tight trying to hold in tears "It's okay Happy,"

Gildarts looked down depressed, shocked his own surrogate son would do something like this.

"Why would he do that," Lisanna asked.

"Apparently it has something to do with his brother, Gray answered.

"His brother?" the others said shocked.

"Gray is correct," Makarov stood up, awakening from his injuries. "Natsu's brother is the Dark Wizard Zeref,"

The others were all shocked by this.

"Since when does he have a brother," Bickslow said shocked.

"And it's Zeref," Evergreen said.

"Zeref, you mean the man Grimoire was after," Freed said shocked.

"He's Natsu's brother," Mira's eyes widened, and Makarov nodded.

"Hows that possible," Elfman questioned

"It seems there is more to Natsu's past than we realized," Lilly said.

"And you knew about it," Gray asked shocked at what Makarov said.

Makarov nodded "Yes, I knew not only through meeting Natsu but through the first's notes,"

"The First Master," Lucy said.

"Yes, Master Mavis wrote in her journals that at some point she met Zeref, and she learned of the existence of a brother but that is all she knew," Makarov told them.

"Why didn't you tell us," Gray questioned.

"It was not something I could share for Natsu's sake," Makarov said sternly "But it seems I've failed," he looked down saddened.

"Old man," Laxus said.

"Uhh,"

Everyone looked over and saw Erza slowly regain consciousness, Erza sat up and held a sad look.

"Erza, thank goodness," Wendy signed in relief.

Erza looked and saw everyone was okay, but she still carried a sad look. "So Natsu is really gone," Makarov and the others just nodded. Erza and some others cried, tears falling from their eyes, but the emotional moment was cut short by a loud roar.

Gildarts' eyes widened recognizing the roar "That roar,"

"That sounds like," Gajeel shook.

"A dragon," Wendy shivered.

The guild all looked up and their eyes widened in horror, above them they see a black dragon.

"Acnologia, the dragon of the apocalypse," Makarov shook.

"Why is he here," Mira shouted.

"And now all of a sudden, no one is fully healed yet," Cana shouted.

"EVERYONE RUN!" Gildarts yelled.

"Get to the ships," Makarov ordered.

The guild did as instructed and ran as fast as they could, no could fight at their not physically and emotionally, all they could be run but to no avail. Aconologia blocked every path they tried to go down.

Aconologia flew over and it was then started to take a breath. It was then Gajeel and the other slayers realized what was happening.

"BREATH ATTACK!" Gajeel yelled.

"Damn it what can we do, we're all still low on magic power," Freed grunted.

"We don't have enough for defensive spells," Levy said.

"Damn it, if only I had enough, Erza grunted "Kurama please help," but she got no response from the fox "Kurama please my friends are going to die, please give me your power again," still no answer.

It was then Aconologia unleashed his breath attack, and in an instant, the island was gone. Nothing left but a crater in the ocean only showing the ocean floor.

Those who were off of the island, Ultear, Meredy, the Magic Council Rune knights, Zeref who boarded took the main airship.

"The dragon of apocalypse has destroyed Tenrou, I am sorry for the loss of your friends Natsu, Mavis," Zeref said.

On Orochimaru's airship, Natsu was shocked by what he witnessed, but he said nothing. Natsu just turned and continued into the shadows. He turned back to where Tenrou used to be, unknowing to him his Sharingan changed shape, his three tomoe turning into embers. His footsteps echoed as he continued into the shadows.

Here we are chapter 14 sorry for a long wait, hope you all enjoyed, Tenrou arc is over now we can get the next arc, which still if it should be Key of Starry Night which might not work, I might just jump into GMG since I mainly follow the Manga, I have Key of Starry Night mostly to fill in time, or a pre-GMG arc where they try to search for Natsu, and possibly short Natsu and Erza training arc and might introduce who Natsu's Team Taka might be. Anyway why didn't Kurama help fight Aconologia because of reasons and plot, Erza was weakened. I know people thought Erza might escape, but she was weakened and Kurama didn't help for some reason. So yeah. Be sure to review and I will see you all next time.
