Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 46 of God of Lies and Mischief and the Woman of Many Faces. Thank you to those who have left reviews of this story. It really does mean a lot to me. It keeps me going in my writing. I'm going to try my best with this chapter because the section of the movie I'm in now will be a bit difficult to write. Because it's a bit of bouncing around back and forth which won't be all that easy for me to do. Hopefully I don't fail with the chapter. If I do then it'll be something to learn from. I hope that I do well with this chapter. Without further ado Chapter 46. ENJOY!

Chapter 46

Everleigh slunk quietly towards the door with Tony, Thor and Steve not too far behind her. She kept herself light on her feet as she walked.

"What?! I'm not...!I'm not. You think I'm one of Stark's puppets, his hollow men? I mean look at me, do I look like Iron Man? Stark is…"

Suddenly there was a squelching sound that made Everleigh shudder a little bit.

"I'm sorry. I am sor- Ooh, I'm sure that's going to be okay. I'm sorry, it's just I don't understand. Don't compare me with Stark! It's a thing with me. Stark is, he's a sickness!"

Tony appeared in the room in his suit. "Ahh, Junior." He landed and Thor, Steve, and Everleigh came up behind him. "You're gonna break your old man's heart."

"If I have to."

"We don't have to break anything." Thor said, gripping his hammer.

"Clearly you've never made an omelet."

"He beat me by one second." Tony grumbled out.

"Ah, this is funny, Mr. Stark. It's what, comfortable? Like old times?" Pietro said, looking over at Tony.

"This was never my life."

"You two can still walk away from this." Steve said, looking at the twins.

"Oh, we will." Wanda said looking at Steve like he was going to be no problem.

"I know you've suffered."

"Uuughh! Captain America. God's righteous man, pretending you could live without a war. I can't physically throw up in my mouth, but…" Ultron said, looking over at Steve.

"If you believe in peace, then let us keep it." Thor demanded.

"I think you're confusing peace with quiet."

"Yuh-huh. What's the Vibranium for?" Tony questioned looking at Ultron.

"I'm glad you asked that, because I wanted to take this time to explain my evil plan-" Ultron attacked Tony, and his drones attacked Tthor, Steve and Everleigh.

The twins joined in on the fight.

"Shoot them!" Ulysses yelled.

"Which ones?"

"All of them!"

"Move, move, move!"

The rest of the team, including Natasha and Clint battling now with Ultron's drones, Klaue's men, and the twins while Tony tried to battle with Ultron.

Steve knocked down Pietro. He narrowed his eyes on the young man. "Stay down, kid!"

"It's time for some mind games." Ultron said through the drones to Wanda.

"Guys, is this a Code Green?" Bruce's voice rang out over the com.

Everleigh jumped back before using her magic to send one of Klaue's guy to go flying into the wall.

Wanda used her power on Thor before moving away.

Steve walked up to Thor to check on him. "Thor! Status?"

"The girl tried to warp my mind. Take special care, I doubt a human could keep her at bay. Fortunately, I am mighty."

Everleigh turned her head sharply seeing a far off look in Thor's eyes. She bit her lip nervously. What type of magic this was. She made herself vanish from sight. Her heart pounded nervously in her chest. She looked over, seeing swirling red magic behind Steve and then Natasha.

"This is going very well." Ultron said as he packed up the vibranium.

Wanda tried to sneak up behind Clint, but he quickly turned and put an electric arrow on her forehead causing her to fall to the ground.

"I've done the whole mind control thing. Not a fan."

Suddenly Pietro sped in, knocking Clint down, before picking up Wanda and speeding off.

"Yeah, you better run."

Everleigh appeared in front of Clint helping him up off of the ground.

"Whoever's standing, we gotta move! Guys?"

"Clint, they're too far gone." Everleigh said softly looking at her mentor.

Clint swallowed the lump in his throat.

"I've never seen magic like that." She said softly to Clint. "We need to get them out of here and to the plane."

Clint rushed to Natasha and helped her sit down.

Everleigh carefully helped Steve sit down before sitting Thor down as well.

"Natasha, I could really use a lullaby." Tony called over the comm.

Clint took a sharp breath looking over at Everleigh.

Everleigh looked at Clint and nodded her head. "He needs to know."

"Well, that's not gonna happen. Not for a while. The whole team is down, you got no back up here."

"I'm calling in VERONICA."

"Just try your best Tony. Clint and I can't leave Nat, Steve, and Thor. They're too far under whatever this is." Everleigh said as she looked at Steve and Thor in concern.

"You mean to tell me you've never seen something like this."

"Other than the scepter, no I haven't Tony." Everleigh looked at Clint. "We need to get them to the jet."

Clint nodded his head knowing that it was very true.

ULTRON

Everyone was back on the Quinjet and were well on their way out of the area.

"The news is loving you guys. Nobody else is. There's been no official call for Banner's arrest, but it's in the air." Maria told them all over the coms.

Everleigh took a sharp breath between her teeth knowing that this wasn't a good sign.

"Stark Relief Foundation?" Tony questioned Maria hoping that it would help clean some of it.

"Already on the scene. How's the team?"

"Everyone's...we took a hit. We'll shake it off."

"Well for now I'd stay in stealth mode, and stay away from here."

"So, run and hide?"

"Until we can find Ultron, I don't have a lot else to offer."

"Neither do we." Tony ended the call and switched off of the monitor. He looked over at Clint who was flying the jet. "Hey, you wanna switch out?"

"No, I'm good. If you wanna get some kip, now's a good time, cause we're still a few hours out." Clint said as he flew the jet.

"A few hours from where?" Tony questioned his brows furrowed.

"A safe house."

Everleigh swallowed the lump in her throat knowing where they were going. She could only hope that Clint wasn't going to get in trouble.
