Disclaimer: Don't own them, though now that George has cut the hair, I might not mind...
A/N: A very short one shot from Mindy's (one of the bridesmaids)POV in Rashomama. Spoilers for that ep.
I know it was stupid of me. I know it. I mean, it's what got us caught. You have to understand – I couldn't help myself.
Think of it – there was the wedding and Jill looking so beautiful, and then her awful, horrible, banshee of a mother-in-law – I don't know how Jill thought she was going to make it with Adam with his mother clinging to him like she does – did. And then, Cindy telling us what happened and knowing we had to do something.
In hindsight, we should have called for help. I realize that now, but at the time, we were pretty intoxicated, and there was all this blood, and Cindy kept telling me to keep it together. I mean, I was still shaking with fear and cold when he came to interview us.
Him – Nick Stokes, with the Las Vegas Crime Lab. He was so handsome, and he had this adorable accent. Texas, I think. When he handed over his jacket to me, I didn't think twice about accepting it. Where do you find guys like that? I know it was crazy, but I didn't think we would get caught. Well, really, by that point, I wasn't thinking at all. So I slipped him my number with a lipstick kiss on the napkin. It's worked for me before! And I didn't know I had that much blood on my dress!
Cindy and I went over to his car and I handed him his jacket back while she scoped out his tag number. We had seen all the evidence being loaded into the back. She even overheard him and the blondish guy talking about where to meet. Cindy is really good at details, and she told it all to Jill's brother. She thought she might have to give him a bj (at the least) to get the truck boosted, but he was so excited by the idea of stealing it that she didn't have to promise him anything, not even a good night kiss.
So, yeah, now I'm charged with accessory to murder, and Cindy might get even worse. How are Jill and Adam going to make it when he knows that her best friends, and her brother, were involved with his mother's death, even if it was after the fact for some of us? I mean, the fact that she was tied to the bumper of the car they were riding in looks really cold. Like I said, at the time, I was drunk and panicking, and the mob cover story looked like our only option.
The only bright thing about that day was meeting Nick Stokes.
Do you think he'll call?
A/N: I couldn't believe the girl - leaving that napkin for Nick in his jacket. But then, no guts, no glory. Let me know what you think in a review.
