Chapter 5

Swimsuits, Yuri and Friendship

My bond with Moka-san has been growing stronger each day. It's like we're inseparable. I could get used to this. Yep, my life here at Yokai Academy has officially grown accustomed. Or at least that's what I thought. See…it may be just a school for monsters, but…on the other hand, it's treated exactly like a human school. I will soon come to realize something about Moka-san that I didn't even know…

"Nya, nya~!" Nekonome-sensei cheers. "Alright, class! It's time for all of you to join some clubs~!"

"A club, huh?" Kasumi says. Come to think of it, I never really participated in any clubs back at my old school. This is the perfect opportunity…and get closer to Moka-san.

Nekonome-sensei points to the board. "As you all know, we are here to learn how to coexist with the humans. To understand them, we need to learn some everyday things that they do."

"Right!" The students say in unison with a nod.

"Also~" Nekonome-sensei says. "Remember: always remain in your human form. No witnesses, no one can know~"

"What about you, Sensei?" A student points a finger at her tail sticking out of her pencil skirt.

"NYA!" She scratches his face, telling him again, no one can know.

"Alright, class~" Nekonome-sensei says, acting like that little incident never happened. "All students are able to participate. Search which club suits you best! I believe in you all, nya~!"

The bell rings and the students stand up to gather around and search for some clubs. Kasumi and Moka walk together and down the main hall. It's full of booths and posters on each side, with most students gathered around them. They are advertising the best clubs possible.

"Say, Kasumi," Moka says. "Let's join a club both of us will enjoy."

"Y-yes, that's exactly what I was thinking," the shy girl replies. "I mean, ummm...just so that, you know...I wanna get to know you better...r-right?"

"And you as well," Moka says, blushing. "Oh, gosh. We're in the middle of a crowd right now."

"L-let's just see what they have to offer, okay?" Kasumi says.

The two girls begin their search of the perfect club to join. However, it turns out not too well as several clubs like Photography Club, Chemistry Club or the Mummy Club, they are all here just for Moka, which the pinkette cannot stand. Kasumi is frightened by every person that tried to offer them something good. They are on the run until they make a complete stop, catching their breath.

"Haaaah...haaaah..." Kasumi pants. "Geez, this is like a haunted house here!"

"I just can't believe they would want to go this far as to have only me," Moka sweat drops.

"A-are there any normal clubs around here?" Kasumi asks.

Just then, as if Kasumi's question has been answered, there are a bunch of guys gathered around pretty girls in bikinis. One of them, who is a little taller than the rest, steps up front. She has long, curly teal colored hair with golden eyes and she is wearing a purple two piece bikini with a flower sarong around her waist.

"How about joining the swim club?" the beautiful teal haired woman says. "My name is Tamao Ichinose, the club president."

"Oh, my GOD she's so beautiful!" one guy exclaims.

"Girls in bikinis! I'm so in!"

"Me, too, dude! Let's join!"

The teal haired woman smiles. "Feel free to sign up. This club has only female members, so male members are more than welcome." She then turns to eye Kasumi and Moka behind the boys. "Well...I guess it wouldn't hurt to at least have two more female members. That means a lot more attraction. What do you think~?"

"U-ummmm...well..." Kasumi thinks about it for a moment. The swim club DOES have mostly females. She would probably get along with them just fine, just as long as the boys don't go near her. And...she could've sworn Tamao is eyeing her like she's attracted to the shy girl.

"You seem new," Tamao says. "Tell you what, if you sign up, I'll be more than willing to teach you a thing or two."

"Ummm..."

Moka, however, is pouting adorably. "Kasumi...! What about me? I mean, I just don't like, well...swimming."

"S-sorry, Moka-san, ummm..." Kasumi blushes in embarrassment. "But...these girls."

"Your pretty friend doesn't look interested," Tamao says. "That's alright. One member is more than enough."

"Ohhhhhh...!" Moka groans with a vein about to pop. She is seeing yet another pretty girl trying to flirt with Kasumi.

Kasumi whimpers. As much as she wants to decline, Tamao's kind hearted personality has got to her. She wants to be included somehow. So...she signs up for the swim club and all Moka can do is just decide to sit and watch.

**Later**

While Moka is sitting against the fence near the pool, she sees a lot of guys enjoying their time with each girl in a bikini. They look like they are having fun. Moka turns her head to see Tamao taking Kasumi's hand as she slowly leads her to the water. Kasumi is wearing a two piece green bikini.

"You look magnificent~" Tamao says. "Now then, let's get in together."

Grrrr! Look at that girl! Flirting with Kasumi like that...! Moka thinks as a vein is about to pop on her head.

"That's it~" Tamao says sweetly. She gently pulls Kasumi all the way in the water and has the shy girl in her arms. "Great, now you're in the water. I knew you could do it~"

"Th-thank you..." Kasumi says, blushing.

Kasumi's in her arms...! Moka thinks.

Moka tries to hold it in as she watches Tamao teach Kasumi the basics. She is SO close to her and SO friendly with her. It sickens Moka. Tamao casts glances at the pinkette and smiles, seemingly enjoying the reaction from the cute vampire. And then, as soon as Tamao presses her humble breasts against Kasumi's back, giggling lovingly, Moka cannot take it anymore.

"THAT DOES IT!" Moka shouts, catching Kasumi and Tamao's attention. "Kasumi! Do you REALLY like being around this woman!?"

"N-no, that's not it..." Kasumi tries to protest. "Please understand..."

"Goodness, no! It's you that doesn't understand!" Moka shouts. "I'm leaving!"

However, Tamao splashes water on Moka, stopping her in her tracks.

"My, my~" she says. "You two girls are fighting like children. That's no good. This IS the swim club, you know? If you don't plan on swimming, then leave. Besides...I already found a member I can get along with well." She splashes water on Moka again, just a little more than last time.

Moka gasps and backs away in fear. "N-no...!" She turns and runs.

"W-wait! Moka-san!" Kasumi tries to go after her friend, but she is gone.

"Hey, Kasumi-chan!" Kurumu's voice is heard from Kasumi's right. She is wearing a yellow two piece bikini. "How do you like my swimsuit~? Looks attractive, right?"

"Hey, hey! Check out mine!" Yukari hops next to the succubus. She is wearing a one-piece school swimsuit. "Isn't it adorable~?"

Kasumi looks at both of the girls, who are posing and staring daggers at one another. Tamao gently wraps her arms around the shy girl with a soft smile.

"Forget them," she says softly. "Just hang out with me and everything will be fine."

As much as Kasumi wants to go after Moka, she feels that the pinkette needs to cool down a bit. So she obliges and allows Tamao to teach her some more.

*Meanwhile*

Moka stumbles in the back of the school. She presses herself against the wall, feeling her body go heavy. Electricity surges from head to toe and she slides down to sit. She then notices her rosary glow red.

"You fool! What did you THINK was going to happen!?" the voice from the rosary scolds. "We're vampires, but we too have weaknesses. Water is extremely dangerous for us! It will drain the power out of your body, leaving you paralyzed!"

Moka shuts her eyes tightly, holding her forearm. Electricity continues to surge on her body. She feels so weak right now.

"If Kasumi cannot love and take care of you then she is not the one for you!" the voice from the rosary says.

"No…" Moka whispers.

"Huh?"

"I hate this…." Moka says. Her body trembles and the electricity still goes. "I hate being like this. I still want to love Kasumi." A couple tears fall from her eyes. "I want to be with Kasumi…."

**Meanwhile**

While Yukari is practicing her kicking in the water and Kurumu is posing for the boys and girls, Tamao and Kasumi are swimming together. The teal haired woman is guiding Kasumi, having her glide along smoothly. Kasumi is enjoying it, but her expression softens. Moka isn't there and she's pretty mad at her. Tamao stops and sees the troubled expression on her face.

"What's the matter, Kasumi-chan?" she asks. "Don't tell me you're still thinking about Moka."

"S-sorry...I mean, umm..." Kasumi starts. "Ichinose-san...I..."

Tamao gently caresses Kasumi's cheek. "Please, call me Tamao-onee-sama. Forget about that girl and just be with me. I will love and protect you much better than she."

"R-really?" Kasumi asks, not sure if Tamao is being completely honest.

"I've watched you since the entrance ceremony," Tamao confesses. "You were being treated like a little runt, weren't you? That's not the way to call a pretty girl like you. I will change all that."

"Hey!" Kurumu shouts as she takes notice of Tamao close to Kasumi. "Stay away from my number one!"

"Ugh, I don't have time for this..." Tamao scoffs and turns her head to see Yukari getting out of the water. "Hey, Yukari-chan! The big boob girl thinks you got no chance of hitting on other boys or girls!"

"What!?" Yukari turns her head toward the succubus and dives in to stop her in her tracks. "Why you!"

"H-hey! Get off me, cutting board!" Kurumu shouts.

"What did you call me!?" Yukari shrieks as she tries to wrestle the succubus to the ground.

While the two girls are fighting, Tamao gives a nod of satisfaction. "Good. That should keep them busy." She then turns to Kasumi. "Now then, where were we~?"

**Meanwhile**

Moka regains her strength after the water dried out and starts to walk back. Her rosary glows again.

"You're risking your life," the voice says. "Is that what you want?"

"If it means I get to be with Kasumi, then I will take that risk...!" Moka says with determination. She is not going to let some pretty lady stop her from being with the one she loves so dearly. Kasumi is human, after all.

"You can be so stubborn sometimes," the voice says.

Back at the pool, Kasumi is in Tamao's arms, with the teal haired woman stroking her hair. However, her pony-tail wags at blood curdling screaming from behind. Two girls nip at one guy's shoulders and his skin turns wrinkly within seconds. He then falls into the water, dead.

"E-ehhhhhh...?" Kasumi squeaks. "Wh-what did they just do to him!?"

"Relax," Tamao says. "We're just...a little hungry that's all."

"Eh...?" Kasumi turns to see a large mermaid tail in the water and fins on both sides of her head.

"Don't think badly of us, really," Tamao says. "We're mermaids after all. Sucking the life out of them while charming them first? That's our thing~"

Kurumu and Yukari hear the screams and gasp at the sight of the men dying from the mermaids' grasp.

"No way! What!?" Yukari says.

"What the hell is going on!?" Kurumu shouts.

Kasumi trembles, backing away while tears form in her eyes. "Y-You mean…you were planning this all along? You were going to use me just so that you can eat MY life too!?"

"Oh don't think that way, sweetie," Tamao says. "I know you are a yuri so your life will be spared. Of course if you want to hold hands with me. I will make your life better."

Kasumi shakes her head roughly. "No! I will never go with you! I can't trust anybody anymore!"

"What did you say!?" Tamao says.

"You! I thought you would be the kinder one out of these monsters!" Kasumi says as tears fall. "But you're just all the same! The one who I will love and trust is Moka-san! She loves and cares for me more than you could ever have!"

Tamao's eyebrow twitches. "Insulting me like that, huh? Well, if you won't have me, then you'll be just like the rest." Her face turns scary looking and bares out her fangs, preparing to eat the life out of her. Kasumi screams.

But then...

"Kasumiiiii!" Moka comes running toward the pool.

"Moka-san! You came!" Kasumi cries.

Tamao's face turns back into a pretty one. "You again!? I thought you would never come back! After all, you stand no chance around here since you are weak against water!"

"Eh...? Water...?" Kasumi gasps at this.

"I don't care!" Moka shouts. "If I want to be with Kasumi, then I will! Even if it means risking my life for it! I swore it to her before! I am keeping that promise!"

"Get lost!" Tamao uses her mermaid tail to splash huge amounts of water on Moka.

"Ngh!" Moka tries to stand her ground as electricity flows again.

"Yeah, get weaker, you little vampire!" Tamao says as she swings her tail again. "You will never interfere again as long as I'm around!"

"AHHHHHH!" Moka drops on her behind and then lies on her side. She is fully paralyzed.

Just then, Kasumi dives in and dunks Tamao's head in the water and kicks her down deeper. She then quickly swims to the surface and jumps out of the water

"Oh, my God!" Kurumu gasps. "Moka's in trouble!" She slashes away the mermaid that's trying to attack her.

"But there's too many of them to deal with right now!" Yukari pushes another mermaid away that is trying to eat her. She waves her wand and a beam shoots out from the heart, sending the creature flying and into the water.

"We have to help her somehow!" Kurumu argues. "If they get to her, they're going to after Kasumi-chan next!"

"Just listen to me and let's deal with her army first!"

"Fine!"

Meanwhile, Kasumi gently has Moka lying on her back. The shy brunette looks down at her, her eyes brimming with tears.

"Moka-san...Moka-san...I'm so sorry..." she sobs.

Moka's emerald eyes flutter open and sees Kasumi looking down at her, crying. "Kasumi..."

"This is all my fault...!" Kasumi sobs, "If I hadn't accepted the offer...you wouldn't have gotten into this situation. I let you get hurt so badly…!"

Moka manages to reach out her hand and caress her dear friend's cheek. "It's...okay. I forgive you. I'm sorry...I ran off like that. I was...jealous and indeed hurt, yes. But I know...you can do better..."

"M-Moka-san...!" Kasumi puts her hand on Moka's as tears keep flowing.

"R-right now...we have to teach this swimmer a lesson..." Moka says. She gently guides Kasumi's hand toward her rosary. "You know...what to do…"

Kasumi wipes her tears and nods. "It's...go time...!" She yanks off the rosary and Moka begins to glow, undergoing her usual transformation.

"No way...!" Tamao is blinded by the light as the sky turns red and bats surround Moka.

Within seconds, the bats fly away and the transformed Moka stands proud before Tamao and her army of mermaids.

"What a pain in the ass," Vampire Moka says. "I got bigger fish to fry."

"Ha! I would like to hear you say that again once I defeat you!" Tamao uses her tail to splash water on her. "Drink this!"

"Drink it! Drink it! Drink it! Drink it!" the other mermaids chant as they too splash water on Vampire Moka.

The silver haired beauty's legs shake, but she tries to stand her ground, despite the electricity flowing on her. They are trying to weaken her more and more. However, Kurumu intervenes by kicking three mermaids all at once out cold.

"Drink THIS you bitches!" Kurumu taunts.

Yukari summons her wand and summons tubs to squash the rest. "Ha! Take that~!"

"My army!" Tamao gasps.

"Listen, I don't need your help," Vampire Moka says.

"Yeah you do," Kurumu says. "You're weak against water, so shut that pride of yours and deal with the real thing!"

Tamao grins. "I've got you right where I want you. You don't stand a chance against me. I have the home field advantage."

"Hmph. You think that alone will stop me?" Vampire Moka says. "You're talking a bunch of bullshit."

"Grrrr...! Now you made me mad!" Tamao's face turns scary looking and dives deep in the water. "Water is a vampire's weakness! I will use it to my advantage regardless!"

"Ha!" Vampire Moka uses her strong legs to jump high in the air. The mermaid does the same. "Like a fish out of water," Vampire Moka jokes.

"Don't think this is all I have!" Tamao does a front flip to try and bash her with her tail. But Vampire Moka quickly grabs it.

Tamao is thrown on the hard ground near the pool. The injured mermaid tries to crawl back into the water when Vampire Moka lands behind her and grabs her tail.

"You're not going anywhere," she says coldly. She lifts her up and chucks her high in the sky until she lands on a large soccer net and gets tangled up.

When it's all over, the sky becomes blue again. Vampire Moka drops on one knee, panting heavily. Kasumi can see that even though Vampire Moka came out, even with all that power, she is still weakened.

"U-ummm…Moka-san..?" Kasumi walks toward the silver haired beauty, but the vampire stands up and slaps her. "E-eh…?"

"You made the other Moka cry," Vampire Moka says. "For that I can't forgive you. If you want to love and care for her, you need to be wise about it."

Kasumi just nods. She has forgotten that her vampire self looks out for the cute one as well.

Vampire Moka grabs the rosary and leaves. All the shy girl can do is just stand there, head hung low.

**Next Day**

Since she quit the swimming club, Kasumi has no other options. She has no idea what other club she should join. Other than that, she cannot stop thinking about how much she has hurt Moka. They made up, yes, but her mind is still not there. She is depressed about everything that happened yesterday.

That is until Nekonome-sensei managed to pull her aside after school today.

"Aoi-san~?" she says. "Did you decide on what club to join?"

"No, sensei," Kasumi sighs. "Not yet."

"Well, how about I recommend you one~?" the cat woman says. "How about you can join the Newspaper Club? I am the advisor of this club too. It is in need of members."

"R-really? You would let me do that?" Kasumi asks.

"Would you let me join too?" a familiar voice says from behind Kasumi.

"Ah...!" Kasumi swiftly turns around and sees Moka in the flesh. All refreshed and recovered. "M-Moka-san!"

"Kasumi, what's gotten you all down in the dumps~?" the pinkette says cheerfully.

"U-umm...well...uhhh..." Kasumi fiddles with her fingers. "S-see the thing is want I apologize for-"

"You already did silly~" Moka says. "I'm fine now. After plenty of rest, I was able to recover~"

"O-oh..." Kasumi looks at the happy cute vampire and then smiles a small smile. Maybe she doesn't have to worry about Moka being mad anymore.

"You want to join too, Akashiya-san?" Nekonome-sensei asks.

"Yes, of course~!" Moka nods and bows. "It would be an honor to join alongside Kasumi~!"

"Don't forget about me!" Kurumu slides toward the three. "I want to join too!"

"Yeah, me too~!" Yukari hops toward the group.

"Nya, how grand!" Nekonome-sensei says. "Alright, I'll be back with the applications. See you in a bit~!" She trots away, happy that she got members within seconds.

Moka hugs Kasumi happily. "Yay! Kasumi, we're in the same club this time! I'm so happy!" She leans in and bites the brunette's neck.
