A/N Gordon was canonically shaking with fear over Diesel 10. In my Thomasverse, he's a scary, mean engine because of that. Respect Erica, members, if you want this story to stay up.
Thomas and Erica had just pulled a train together and were back in Knapford. Diesel 10 came and Erica was scared of his horn. Diesel 10 turned on Thomas, saying mean things to the blue tank engine.
Diesel 10 told Thomas, "You should be scrapped just like your siblings, because you're, as a steamie, a useless old kettle. Let an engine like Salty replace you. I happen to know his class replaced your siblings. So, you should be replaced too, you worthless tank engine."
Erica, due to her fear, began to cry. Her dark eyes filled with huge tears and she let out a small wail. "Can you wipe my eyes?" she said, sniffling. She then pressed her buffers against her "brother"'s.
"There, there, Erica,", the female engine's driver said, pulling out a hanky and dabbing at her eyes, then wiping her face. "He's gone now, but I know his horn scares you. It's okay to cry. I'm here for you."
"Keep wiping", she sniffled, fresh tears stinging her eyes.
He said, as he continued to wipe her tears away, "I'll dry your eyes and comfort you until you feel better.". He wiped her eyes dry of tears as best he could.
Thomas began to cry, too, sniffling and letting out small sobs. He was a bit scared, as Diesel 10 was a scary engine, but mostly very sad and hurt by what the bigger engine said. "Dr-Driver c-can y-you dr-dry m-my t-tears?" Every word was another soft sob and big, big tears streamed down his cheeks without stopping.
Thomas's driver knew his engine was sad. "There, there", he said, as he softly dried his engine's tears with a cloth, rubbing his cheeks and wiping his eyes. "Let it all out. I know he hurt your feelings and made you sad by what he said."
Thomas sniffled again, fresh tears pouring from his eyes as he cried more. "I-I h-hate w-when s-someone m-mentions m-my s-siblings or i-is m-mean," he sobbed.
His driver said, as he continued to wipe the tears away, "He did all that. I understand how you feel." He pressed the cloth to his engine's eyes.
Gordon came to Knapford and seeing Erica in tears, called her a "cry-engine". Then, he noticed Thomas was unhappy and weepy, too. He asked his little ally, "What happened?".
"D-diesel 10," the blue tank engine said in a sob-filled voice, his face covered with tear streaks.
Gordon said, "He makes me scared, so I shake around him. But Sir Topham Hatt won't let him hurt us.". He steamed away.
Shortly after, Emily came through Knapford. As the big sister figure among the engines, she gave each of the "siblings" a buffer press, because they were unhappy. They then went back to buffer pressing each other until they both finished crying. Erica's driver wiped her face and damp eyes. Her face was red and so were her puffy from crying eyes, but she smiled a bit. Thomas's driver dried his last tears away, softly patting them from his cheeks and dapping the dampness from his eyes, and he, like his "little sister", managed to smile, too. They were feeling better, no longer scared or unhappy.
Thomas had no more tears to cry, so Emily shunted him to the water column and then left because she was unable to stay any longer. Erica had a drink, too, when her "brother" was done.
Thomas, with his cheeky smile he had since finishing his cry, told his "sister", "Let's go trick Percy. Nothing too bad, just a little joke."
Erica, with a cheeky little grin of her own, agreed, "I knew it would be mild as he's our friend, so I can go along with it.".
The other tank engines went ahead with their little trick on Percy.
"What a joke!", Percy said, when he found his friends had tricked him. They laughed a lot and then went on with the rest of their day.
A/N Gordon and Emily came as the "siblings" cried together. Gordon shook over Diesel 10 in a movie or something. Due to Erica being kid me as an engine, except emotionally where she's a blend of kid me and me now, combined with other fics I've read, I show her having the effects of crying I know I've had. Like when I was in school, someone would talk about my face being all red from crying or my eyes looking awful red from when I was crying. For new readers, the sounds she cries about are sounds that would've made me cover my ears or try to get away because I have sensitive ears. She has no way to cover whatever serves as ears for her and she can't always get away, so she has meltdowns. If she reminds you of an autistic child, that's by design as I'm on the spectrum. Just thought it was time to show the "siblings" doing some mischief together again.
