Upgrades and Omens
FIRE MOTH BASE -2018(Previous era) (six months later)
It has been six months since Welt Yang was put as the head of the Chief of R&D, and the rate of research and development against the Honkai has taken a rapid pace. New anti-Honkai technology was produced almost every week to the point that Kevin felt that they were living pre-renaissance period before Dr. Welt came along.
The man was a pure technological genius, this Kevin had to admit. The weapons were more effective than ever and the armour plating and jackets for the soldiers were now made with some new kind of fabric that would not be torn after hours of deployment.
But perhaps the most amazing development was to be announced today. Kevin along with every officer above the rank of sergeant had been called for a demonstration of the completed new type of metal that Tesla and Einstein were working on. When he reached the lab, he saw Ato and Himeko already present there, Kevin thus decided to greet them.
"Good morning aniki, aneki."
"Good to see you too kid." said Ato.
"Good morning to you too Kevin." said Himeko.
They waited together for some time for some other remaining to come while they talked about their current missions.
"Man, I can't just with tropical rainforests, they are full of insects, mosquitoes and not to mention endless rain that makes hunting those bastards difficult. Not to mention those beasts have developed camouflage to evade our naked eyes so we have to rely on our Honkai sensors." Said Ato recalling his latest mission in Southeast Asian jungles.
"Well, not like I've got it any better, hunting beasts on a tropical inhabited island isn't any fun either." replied Himeko.
"Tropical islands, hey did you wear those hot swimsuits when doing those missions, you know?"
"If you don't shut up, I'm going to call Clara and tell her that you tried hitting on other women while being here." At this Ato shut his mouth at once. His wife may not look like it, but she was one of the jealous types, once she had caught him flirting with another girl at a supermarket before and well let's say he didn't enjoy what happened next. It's hard to enjoy when you are suddenly thrown outside in nothing but boxers on a cold autumn night.
"Cough, cough… What about you Kevin?"
"My last mission was in Southern Egypt."
"Damm, in smack dab middle of Sahara?"
"…"
"Looks like we both got it easier, at least we had drinking water readily available." Ato said to Himeko.
"I agree." Nodded Himeko. By this time the other officers had gathered and Welt began his presentation.
"I see that all the officers of the rank of Sergeant and above have gathered. Okay, let's start the presentation then." Welt started speaking.
"As we all know, the Honkai are fundamentally different from any living organism that we have ever known. The major point of disjunction is that they can actively evolve to match our technological pace at a very fast rate. This is also true for their flesh as well. I guess many of you have noticed that the beasts are becoming harder to kill and require more ammunition compared to before, right?"
Many murmurs were heard agreeing to the statement. Once they died down, Welt continued:
"So, the answer to this problem was found in an unexpected direction."
"And that is?" one of the officers asked.
"Nanorobots."
"What!?" everyone was shocked.
"You heard right. Nanorobots are our answer to the ever-evolving Honkai beasts. By integrating Nano-robots to the already existing material that we were working on earlier, we have successfully created a new material that can adapt its strength to the Honkai beasts. Furthermore, this material can automatically repair itself from the Honkai corruption which means that the things made from this material will need extremely less maintenance, and lastly this material can insulate Honkai energy, so the guns made from it will no longer need an ammunition cartridge. This is the final series of results of the experimentations of those prototype Rifles given earlier this year."
The people present were amazed, more so because Dr. Welt would always deliver on his claims. They couldn't believe that the R&D department had developed such a thing, but the graphs, photographic and video evidence suggested otherwise. The people were elated that they finally had an even footing against the Honkai, that their comrades and friends wouldn't have to die needless deaths anymore.
Sensing the positive atmosphere in the presentation room, Welt finally decided to reveal the name of this material that he, Tesla, Einstein and so many other worked tirelessly for.
"I name this material: SOULIUM."
"So, the BABEL was remade with the casing of Soulium, thus you can expect greater performance than before. Furthermore, the recoil is greatly contained now, so you will at most feel the recoil of a regular handgun. It still surprises me how you were able to handle the recoil of the last one which was enough to blow your arm off?"
Kevin listened quietly as Tesla explained the other features that were added to the final version of the pistols. The Honkai energy that was now insulated was converted to heat, meaning the pistols could now fire flaming bullets. This was a nice addition to Kevin as now he could deal burning damage along with physical damage to enemies from the bullets.
"Oh, and before you go to your station, Welt wants to meet you. He says he has something special for you."
"Understood." acknowledged Kevin as he made for Welt's labs. His labs were filled with various techs and prototypes. They ranged from small daggers to... were those train models? Kevin was a bit surprised about that but thought it to be some kind of project that Welt was undertaking. When he did not see Welt in his chair at his desk, he called out to him:
"Dr. Welt, I have come as you requested."
"Oh Kevin, right can you come to the back here?"
"Sure." Kevin said as he moved to the back of the lab where Welt was working on a Broadsword on a sword stand. It was orangish in colour which turned to yellow as the blade progressed. The entire blade was roughly three-quarters of his body length and the blade looked like it was spewing flames. There were electrodes attached to the blade to measure various parameters. Welt noticed him as he came near.
"You are here, so how do you like my new gift to you?"
"Gift?"
"Well, this is the first of very specific anti-Honkai weapons made purely of Soulium. I have tweaked them so that along with insulating the Honkai energy can manipulate it and release it with some very specific effects. This is the first one I developed; it has the power to create a flaming blade when activated which lets you have a literal fire-sword like in those kids' cartoons." Explained Welt.
"But why me?" Kevin was curious as to why was he given the first of this weapon type.
"The main reason is Honkai resistance. You know that Honkai energy corrupts all living organisms that it comes in contact with, turning them into beasts and zombies. Even though all the active soldiers here in this organization have some innate Honkai resistance and we provide armour with Honkai resistance padding, the amount of Honkai energy stored in this sword is enough to corrupt them fully and kill or zombify them."
Kevin nodded in understanding. He had to deal with turned humans in his missions, most often than not his squad members that take in too much radiation and go beyond the point of no return. Kevin will personally put them to rest if that happens, and he did not allow any other to do so. It was his sin, his failure to save them and he will carry their wishes and dreams with him to his final resting place without leaving anyone behind. That was his duty and his atonement for failing his squad-mates who trusted him with their lives.
Seeing Kevin's faraway gaze, Welt decided to change the topic "and the second reason is your strength. Even amongst the soldiers here, your physical and mental abilities are way beyond average; and so is your Honkai resistance. In fact, you have the highest resistance among all the Moth members here. So, to compliment your abilities better normal swords won't cut it. Thus, this weapon will serve you well with your superior abilities."
"I understand. So how do I use it?"
"There is a trigger on the handle, so when you press it, the sword's abilities are turned on, in its turned on or what I prefer to call Awakened state it will become a flaming blade that will deal fire damage along with the physical one with every slash. The power output can be adjusted automatically by the nano-robots by how tough the surface you are trying to cut and how hard you swing it." explained Welt.
"So, what do you think about it?"
"…" Kevin said nothing.
"Sigh… fine expected not like I expected much of a reaction anyways. So, any more questions?"
"What is its name?"
"Oh, that's the good part, I call it: SOLFLAME."
SOUTH AMERICA (Somewhere in the Andes)- 2018(Previous era) (Three weeks later)
"Report, we are nearing the point of Honkai surge. Our ETA to the place should be in around another hour."
"Hmm. Keep scouting the area and report any unusual activity to me. Dismissed"
"Sir." the soldier saluted Kevin and went to his post.
It's been nearly a month since he had got the new weapons from the R&D division and to say they were powerful would be an understatement. The pistols were so powerful that the lower class Honkai beasts died with just the normal shots, not even needing the Burst or Rapid modes, they were only needed to deal with beasts above Chariot class.
The sword was even more broken than the pistols. While the pistols could hold a finite amount of Honkai energy, there were no such limitations with the sword. And that means that he could fight with the sword indefinitely theoretically. But the amount of strain it put on him was another matter, whenever he used the sword for an extended period of time, it was followed by a period of exhaustion and migraines that made logically thinking difficult. Welt said that the sword was not made for such extended usage periods and Kevin was overusing it and currently trying to improve the blade for more performance and lesser strain for the user.
Anyway, for the current condition, his squad was deployed in the north-eastern Andes after the Honkai sensors at the base detected a huge amount of Honkai energy surge, not enough to create a Herrscher as speculated by Welt but more than anything they noticed before. So, Kevin and his squad were dispatched to investigate the source of the surge and to deal with any threat regarding it. Himeko wanted to come along so as to prevent a repeat of what happened in Germany, but was called on an emergency mission in the Caribbean; although she made it very clear that if anything major happened, she would come as fast as possible, her mission be dammed.
Thus, Kevin and his squad were now trekking through the Andes to reach the location. It was cold as should be usual for the mountains, but something bugged Kevin. It was as if something was waiting for them at the source, something strong, something dangerous. Thus, he decided if it was something extremely dangerous, he will order the retreat of his squad and try to buy time for them himself.
"Brr. Cold, so cold." commented one of the soldiers.
"Yeah, Oi this cold in the mountains a normal thing Tabët?" asked another.
"It's cold sure but not this much. Something is going on." the soldier named Tabët replied.
This made all the squad members tense, they all knew that this squad always drew the short end of the stick and ends up in a dangerous position. Sensing the unease of the soldiers Kevin ordered them to stop and addressed them:
"I'm sure many of you have noticed something amiss in this place. So, I will give the orders beforehand in case we go into combat from the get-go. Units 1 through 5 will form a sweeping formation and form the vanguard, Units 6-10 will form the middle guard and look after our flanks. Units 11-15 you will serve as backup for the middle guard and the rearguard which will be formed by Units 16-20. The command of the individual units is now given to the unit commanders. Try to work with the units around you and maintain the formation."
"Sir." all the soldiers acknowledged the orders.
"Sir, you will be at?" asked one of the soldiers.
"I will take the point for everybody." replied Kevin.
"Sir, you can't, if something happens to you-" some tried to protest.
"Enough. We are soldiers and we should be prepared for any circumstances, we are at war with Honkai so we should be prepared to take swift and hard decisions. Further, I'm the commanding officer of this squad and my orders are absolute." Kevin commanded.
"Sir." The soldiers complied reluctantly.
"I didn't hear you." Kevin commanded once more.
"SIR, YES SIR." everyone shouted at once.
"Good, now recon team go and scout the area ahead of us. Report me when you find the source point."
"Sir." the recon team went ahead to scout, meanwhile, others got into their formations.
After around half an hour later, the recon team came running back suddenly. They looked as if they had seen a ghost as their faces were extremely pale.
"Report?" Kevin asked.
"Y-yes s-sir." trembled one of the members "we found the source of the surge around 700m ahead of us. I-i-i-It-it-it's a-a-a-a" the member was shaking badly.
"It's a what?" asked Kevin.
"It's a… Dragon, sir."
"Dragon?!" Kevin was shocked, he had only read them in those children's books that Griseo had, to think that the Honkai had something like that.
"Yes sir, it's a dragon." the member was beginning to calm down "by our primary investigations it's almost 100m tall, 60-70m in width and we deduced that it is the cause of this abnormal cold, as ice winds were blowing from its body."
Now Kevin was in a dilemma, should he engage the beast or not? Most likely many of here will die should he chooses to do so. But if he leaves it alone, the Dragon might attack the nearest human settlement and kill hundreds, which his duty didn't allow him. So, with neither of the choice possible, there was only one thing he could do. He resolved himself and spoke:
"All squad members, retreat to point alpha and sent the message to HQ explaining our findings and requesting extraction."
At this all the others became nervous. If what they were thinking was true, then their fool of a Sergeant was thinking to do only one thing, so one of them decided to confront their unease.
"And you sir?"
"I will go and fight that Dragon alone; we can't allow it to leave this mountain and harm humans."
At this, all the Soldiers released a collective sigh; it was as they expected. But they weren't going to let him go against this foe alone.
"I'm sorry sir. I cannot follow this order."
"What?"
"It's as I have said sir. I cannot follow these orders. You are telling us to run away and leave you behind to fight that thing alone. In your dreams."
"This is an order."
"To screw with the order. I'm not going to leave alone the big brother of this group to fight alone. I will happily receive any punishment deemed fit afterwards. But now nobody is going back and if you decide to leave us, then we will simply follow you." the soldier said passionately, which was followed by a chorus of agreements by everyone present there.
"There's no stopping you guys there is there?"
"Nope. We all are here to fight against the Honkai and to protect what we hold dear."
"sigh… Fine then. Change in orders, everyone we will be engaging the dragon. Comms team contact the HQ and report them of the situation. Ask them for reinforcements if possible. Remaining all assume positions as dictated before."
"Yes sir."
'Now, let's begin' Kevin thought.
The initial reports did not do justice to the size of this beast. It was almost as large as that world-famous building: Empire-something in the US. The soldiers got tensed by seeing the beast, but they couldn't retreat now, not when their leader was standing in the front taking the most dangerous role. Once they reached closer, Kevin turned to them one last time:
"Roll out the grenades first, to confuse it and then start shooting through the gas. Look out for its attacks or any special movements from it."
"Yes sir."
"All Right… Engage."
At this command, all the members started to engage the dragon. They rolled out the smoke grenades and flash grenades first in order to blind the creature. After the grenades went off, they started shooting at once. The dragon noticed the soldiers and let out a roar that trembled the ground they were standing on
ROOAR.
"Don't be frightened. Keep up the teamwork in the formation and we will bring this lizard down fast." one soldier shouted.
The dragon started to swing away the soldiers by its wings and tail, some were caught and flung off, but the majority however escaped due to the flexible formation and chain of command that they had.
Kevin on the other hand was fighting the dragon square on. He activated Solflame and unconsciously put it to maximum output. He charged ahead and struck the leg of the dragon, the dragon roared in pain as it felt its flesh being cut and burned at the same time. It tried to fling Kevin away, but he dodged by jumping back at the precise moment.
"This is going to take some time." said Kevin to himself.
CARIBBEANS – 2018(Previous era) (around the same time)
Himeko took a short pause as she finished off the last Templar-class beast. She looked over to the horizon in the direction where South America lay, where her little brother was deployed now.
It was a surprise to her as well how fast Kevin became such an integral part of her life. After losing her parents in a Honkai incident almost twelve years ago, she never thought she could place someone in the same place as her family. However, when the boy came nearly four years ago, she had this urge to protect him from all the bad things this world had to offer.
Was it because of the look he gave her when she asked him why was he adamant about fighting the Honkai? Perhaps. She saw a lot of her in her younger days in him and wanted to spare him any further pain than he had already suffered. But it seemed that whatever she did was not enough, as he was always getting into extremely dangerous situations. This was also made worse by his stubborn nature to never back down and do everything himself. Just thinking about it gave her a headache.
"Lt. Himeko, we have cleared all the remaining beasts in the vicinity."
"I see. Okay, contact the HQ and call for the extraction team."
"Yes mam."
She was eager to return to the HQ and check out if Kevin had returned or not. How bad were his injuries and if they were severe enough? That boy was always careless and getting hurt for simple reasons. She had tried to correct this behaviour many times but to no avail. Thus, she decided to look out for him as he was incapable of taking care of himself.
It was then that a member of her squad came running towards her.
"Mam, it's an emergency order from the HQ."
"What happened?"
"Sgt. Kevin's squad had located the source of the Honkai surge in the Andes but the problem is worse than before."
Hearing this made alarm bells go off in Himeko's head, it was just leading to a repeat of the mission in African jungles two years ago. At that time, she had underestimated the Honkai beast's strength and her entire squad was on the verge of elimination. But then Kevin came to their rescue with his team even though he just had two years of experience. The situation then went out of hand quickly and Himeko ordered a full retreat, but Kevin stuck to his ground to kill the beasts but was hurt badly and went into a coma for four months due to extreme blood loss and the resulting shock. That was one of the toughest periods of her life after her parent's death. After she vowed that it will never happen again but now it seemed that she was failing again.
"What's the source?"
"Mam, i-it's a…"
"It's a what?"
"It's a Dragon."
"!"
"The latest report we got from their squad that the Dragon was at least 100m tall and 70m wide, and was able to plunge the whole surroundings to sub-zero temperatures."
"And what about Kevin?" Himeko was panicking now.
"Sgt. Kevin and his squad have decided to confront the beast and subdue it."
Himeko started running before the soldier could finish his report, as she neared the men who were resting, she barked her orders.
"Units 1 through 5 prepare quickly and follow me. We are going to provide backup for Sgt. Kevin's squad. The remaining of you come to join us after properly packing up."
"Mam." none decided to question her. They all knew Kevin's way of doing things and knew that Himeko didn't panic easily. That she is doing now, things really were bad over there; as Kevin's squad was infamous for turning normal assignments into life-or-death situations.
As the transport crafts came into view, Himeko and the chosen squads boarded quickly and made their way to the Andes. On the way Himeko was only thinking one thing:
'Please be safe, Kevin.'
The situation was not looking good for them Kevin thought. The dragon had tough skin that only his sword was able to cut properly. The bullets were doing nothing more than just scratch the beast and make it more agitated. At this rate, they were going to be wiped out. He had to come up with a plan and soon, or everyone including him was going to die here. Him dying was acceptable but he refused to let any more casualties now, already five squads were annihilated to the last man. That was when the dragon suddenly stopped and started to take a deep breath, the already thin mountain air got even thinner making it difficult to breathe.
"Everybody fall back as far as possible, I've got a very bad feeling about this." shouted Kevin. However, the warning came too late as the Dragon released a breath so powerful that it froze half of the remaining men to death instantly. The temperature also dropped to extremely low levels. Kevin could feel his blood freezing inside his body.
There was no other way, he had to kill the dragon now or everyone will die. Making up his mind he gave his next orders:
"Half of you try to draw its attention, meanwhile I will climb it. Then, fire the remaining Honkai-powered RPGs on its chest at my signal."
"Sir."
"Alright, begin… NOW."
Half of the soldiers started shooting at the beast drawing its attention. As it got distracted, Kevin ran on a ramp-like rock and jumped on it. As he made his way to the beast's head he thought about the promise and the oath he made to his fallen comrades:
'As a warrior bold, I will live by my oath I swore.'
As he came upon the beast's head, he fired his pistols to signal the soldiers below to launch the RPGs. The dragon noticed a human on its head and tried to brush it off, but Kevin stood his ground and waited for the RPGs to strike the beast.
BOOOM.
Dozens of Honkai-powered RPGs struck the dragon on its chest area greatly damaging it. It let out a loud roar to indicate its pain, seeing his chance, Kevin jumped from its head to deliver the final strike. The Dragon recovered however and released another breath, a blizzard hitting him head-on. He felt his body freeze, but he couldn't stop. He will kill this beast and protect the things that his fallen squad members were trying to protect. He will follow his oath and not back down till the end. As he was falling through the air, Kevin remembered the next verse of the oath he made to himself:
'Purge the vile Honkai, and Burn down the false gods.'
As he landed on the chest, he saw the ribcage of the dragon was damaged and it just needed one final thrust to the heart to kill it. With his remaining strength, he thrust the Solflame into the heart of the dragon before it could claw him away. The dragon cried in extreme agony before the light went out of its eyes and it started to fall down. Kevin fell alongside the beast, all strength sapped away from his body. As he fell to the ground, all he could see were the small snowflakes, the ones which Griseo loved.
Thud
Kevin landed on the ground and felt his vision black out immediately. The last thing he saw was crimson and heard someone calling out his name.
Kevin woke up with a start, his body was paining all over and he was feeling disoriented. So, he could only mouth his first thoughts:
"Wha- happen-"
As soon as he said that he felt someone hugging him. Looking closely, it was Himeko.
"Aneki?" he said faintly.
"You idiot, why do you always do things like this. I-I thought y-you-" Himeko was unable to finish her sentence as she started sobbing. Seeing her crying made Kevin uncomfortable, so he did the only thing that came to his mind; he put one hand behind her back hugging her and patted her head with the other.
"I'm okay aneki." He rubbed her back in calming circles until she was able to calm down. Once she calmed down, she slapped Kevin lightly.
"Why didn't you wait for the reinforcements, fighting such a beast all alone."
"I was not alone though."
"Shut up."
Looking around he saw there were more people now including Ato aniki and Welt as well. Once he got enough strength back, he started to get back up. Seeing this Himeko objected:
"Rest for some more time Kevin."
"I'm okay now aneki, furthermore I want to hear what Dr. Welt has to say about this."
"Fine, but don't push yourself." Himeko said as she helped him get up and supported him as he went to them.
"Look who finally woke up?" said Ato as he saw Kevin approaching him.
"How are you feeling, Kevin?" Welt asked.
"Fine." Kevin said but was pinched by Himeko.
"Hmph." Himeko showed her disapproval. Welt then shifted the conversation.
"How were you able to kill this thing? This beast is in another league than the Emperor-class, yet you were able to kill it."
"Sacrifice." Kevin's answer made the atmosphere heavy again.
"So, what have you found about it doc?" asked Ato shifting the topic again.
"By the primary investigations, it is a type of ice beast, further analysis would need a proper lab and a scientist with proper physiology and dissection experience."
"Can't anyone of you, do it?" asked Kevin.
"I'm afraid not, none of us are capable enough to dissect a beast this huge, we don't even know where to start?"
"So, what do you plan to do then?" asked Himeko curious.
"We need proper people and a lab to analyze this corpse. I can prepare the lab and as for the people-"
"Do you have anyone in mind, Dr. Welt?" asked Kevin.
"I do, but whether that person wants to join us is another matter. She doesn't bother to look anywhere that doesn't catch her interest, further she can be 'difficult' to say in simple words to work with."
"hmm, so what do you have decided then?"
"Sigh… we need her expertise, there's no other way. I will try to convince her to come and at least take a look at this one." Welt said while having an expression that he really didn't want to do this.
"So what's the name of this person?" Ato asked, if the said person was able to make Welt have this face, then they must be a real personality.
"Her name is-"
UNIVERSITY OF NATURAL SCIENCES (EDINBURGH - SCOTLAND) (DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGY AND BIOCHEMISTRY) – 2018(Previous era) (One week later)
The lab was the same as the last time he visited here, noted Welt. Various animals and humans were preserved in solutions and scattered all around the lab. This frankly looked like an evil human experimentation lab from those horror movies that Welt saw during his free time back in Berlin. The scattered tools around with various amounts of blood on them didn't help the case either.
He waited for the owner of this lab and the Head of the Department of Biology and Biochemistry to come and meet him for the dissection of the dragon corpse. While he waited, he was looking around at the various specimens in the lab, some recognizable some not.
'What is this crazy woman doing now?' Welt thought to himself. He had made an appointment to meet her this afternoon after her classes; Her personal assistant had said that she would come in another fifteen minutes.
"Oh my, to what do I owe the pleasure of the visit of such a great scientist?" a mature voice sounded from behind him.
"Let's cut to the chase, I want your help with a dissection, or if you prefer you can handle the dissection yourself."
Welt said as he turned around. Standing in front of him was a woman in her twenties with lime green hair loose over her shoulder reaching down to her back; her eyes were a mix of green and pink, with the iris getting a darker shade of green as it moved upwards, and pink in the lower half. She was a well-endowed woman with a mature body and was wearing a green shirt with a navy-blue skirt with black thigh-high stockings. She was wearing a lab coat over her dark green shirt and had a double infinity-shaped earring on her left ear, but what made the most impression were her pupils. They were shaped like snake's and seemed like they were stalking their prey. She had an expression of a predator having found its prey and it made Welt a little nervous, to be honest.
"hmmm…" she hummed "What makes you think that I will help you?"
"Take a look for yourself." Welt said as he threw a file containing all the primary reports of the dragon beast towards the woman.
The woman narrowed her eyes as she picked up the file and went through it. As she progressed through the file, her expression changed from disinterested to that of an excited child.
"You say this… thing had ice powers?"
"It froze nearly two dozen men to death in an instant?"
"Then how were you able to kill it?"
"One of the best soldiers in the organization where I work killed it, but it came with a huge cost."
"Necessary for getting such an exquisite specimen. Ah, I can't wait to see it."
"So that means-"
"You have my curiosity; I will come and personally do the dissection. You guys better had not tainted it."
"We don't even know where to begin, less alone tainting it. You have my word that it is stored in exactly the same condition as it was killed."
"It better be. You guys won't know how to handle organisms beyond Human understanding."
Welt sighed inwards. He had managed to convince her, but he had mixed feelings about it. On one hand, he was glad that they were having one of the world's leading biologists come and do the dissection of this beast, but on the other hand, he knew his headaches were about to increase because of the same.
"Klein." the woman called her assistant.
"Yes, doctor?"
"Prepare my instruments and changes of clothes for both of us. Be sure to pack up warm ones. Oh, and intimate the higher-ups about my leave of absence."
"Are you going to accept the proposal doctor?" the assistant named Klein asked.
"You know I can't refuse a request from one of my acquaintances." the woman said.
'Acquaintances?' Welt scoffed inside as he thought:
'You just want to come because it is something you haven't seen before.'
Anyway, he was successful in his bid so he was a bit satisfied with that. The woman stood up and extended her hand in a gesture of handshake while saying:
"I look forward to working with you, Dr. Welt Yang"
"Same here, Dr. Mobius Grantz." Welt said with a bit of trepidation as he shook her hand in return.
To be continued….
Hello everyone, welcome back to 'A Warriors Destiny'.
This chapter is a bit longer than usual as I wanted to fit both the dragon fight and Mobius' introduction into one chapter. The dragon is going to play a crucial role in the story afterwards, so be sure to remember it. Now we are getting to the point of the second eruption which will be a huge turning point for Kevin. What it is you will have to wait and see for yourself.
As always if you like the story please leave a follow, favourite and/or review.
Thank you for reading, until next time.
