Disclaimer: i don't own the fma characters and if i did i would have to write these crappy fanfics.
The sun rushed in through the windows as the day began. Rays hit her face and she squinted. Quietly and slowly she kissed her husband on the cheek before getting dressed. At the time she didn't know it but she had woken him up despite her efforts. He continued letting her believe he was sound asleep. Gracia decided to go downstairs and cook breakfast this morning. She didn't always understand why people thought her cooking was so good, but it made people smile and be happy. So it turn, it made her happy. A few things had already been made by the time, at least she thought, Maes woke up. He quietly came down the stairs and put his arms around his still fairly new wife. She smiled turning her head and kissed him sweetly.
"Good morning," she said almost in a whisper, as if she was afraid of waking up invisible people.
"Good morning," he whispered back in the same volume.
"You better eat this food before it gets cold."
Right now he would really rather be doing something else, but who can resist her cooking?
"Alright, but aren't you going to eat with me?"
He might not have known it, or maybe he did, but he gave her one of those looks that could kill a girl right where they stand.
"Yeah I can just… turn off the stove… and…"
When she turned it off and they connected again. (What do you want, they're newlyweds. Well they have been married for a little while but still.) They stopped when he went over to the table to finally eat. She sat down next to him and started eating herself. They were content with peace and quite for a while but then of course Gracia had to talk.
"So how has work been lately?"
"Not bad, all except for Roy. He's all over my case about being married and he doesn't do any of his work."
"Why don't you bother him about getting a wife? Turn the tables."
"Gracia, you're amazing."
He put an arm around her and hugged her while continuing to eat.
"You know, you could brag about other things besides being married."
"Like what?"
He turned to her suddenly suspicious.
"Couldn't you figure that out detective?"
He now had an expression that made you believe that he was thinking.
"Well I don't know what else there is besides being marr-"
His eyes widened as he realized the answer. She smiled and took his hand.
"Yes, you're right. I'm having a baby."
He was so thrilled that when he hugged her, he almost knocked her over. He then knelt in front of her with his hands still in hers on her lap.
"Do you know when its due or what it's going to be?"
"It's due in seven and a half of eight months and I don't know yet what it will be. But don't you think you could brag about it?"
"Oh, of course I can. I'll tell everyone when I go to work later today."
She leaned down and kissed him again and then he rested his head on her lap while she stroked his hair. The content, happy couple would soon become the perfect family.
"Speaking of work, shouldn't you be heading off there now," she said standing up after he lifting his head.
"Yeah you're right. I can't wait to tell everyone."
He stood up and hugged her once again, her head buried in his chest.
"You know, I was wondering what you would look like with a beard."
"Well I'll get right on it ma'am."
"You better major."
He kissed her on the forehead one last time and then headed out the door. Some of their friends might be surprised by the baby. They had only been married a little while after all. But if their friends knew how much they loved each other, they wouldn't be at all surprised.
