Percy is an adorable nine year old- and in her mind nine years old is practically a grown up- I love her.

Knightwing20042: Honestly I have rough ideas for most pairings but I struggle to decide at times so seeing what people like helps- I will say my strongest ideas/plans right now are for Pipercabeth.
Ryan Flower: Percy when Bast is a cat- doesn't care much. Percy when Bast takes on a more human looking form 'SO COOL!' with Bast just there like 'Hm, I like this one'
Fugy: I see your point, though Annabeth is one of my favorites- and she'll have some differences from canon- she is not going to be so forgiving to Luke.
Guest: I have counted your vote.
Guest: Oh she has the ability to, she just really didn't want to. The revelation about Percy being half Greek isn't such a huge deal to be honest, it's the later stuff that's big- when the Greeks find out lol. And at this stage Carter and Sadie don't understand what's going on really.
Guest: Thank you! And I've counted your vote.
Guest: she will get stronger as time passes- she's gonna be a badass tbh. And I've counted your vote.

Percy was whisked off to a large comfortable office room- it was huge, there was a large desk in the centre of the room, with a high backed wooden chair with plush red cushions on it set behind it.

On one side of the room was a red couch, long and very comfortable looking.

There was a wall of windows that looked out over the city, and along the back wall of the room was a selection of cabinets.

"Uncle Am-"

"Sit down." Amos' voice was softer, "On the couch Percy," he let go of her hand and moved to his cabinets, opening one and pulling out a selection of bottles while Percy made her way to the couch and sat down nervously, hands resting in her lap as she watched him.

He glanced back at her over his shoulder, "How is your ankle feeling Persephone?"

"I-" Percy hesitated "It is kind of aching a little." she admitted slowly, ducking her head.

"And your hands- I noticed how red they were- your face is a little red too."

"Set's a butthead."

"Yes." Amos' lips twitched, "But no match for you it seems." he moved towards her, carefully handing her two bottles, "Take these- that one-" he pointed to a bottle with a light blue liquid in it, "Is it lotion to help your hands arms and face, and that one." he pointed to the second bottle, which had a faintly yellow liquid in it, "Is just a general healing potion." he tilted his head. "You did well today."

"Dad's gone." her voice was very quiet, "Dad's gone. A-and I dunno if he's ever gonna be able to come back. Last night- I couldn't sleep... daddy told me the story- the- the sarcophagus."

"You knew what he was planning."

"Yeah." Percy nodded.

"He was foolish to do it." Amos' voice was tight, "And it was cruel to expect you to protect your brother and sister- you're so young." Amos crouched in front of her, "No matter what happens Percy, promise me you'll stay here, where it's safe."

"I-" Percy hesitated, "But-"

"You're a child. Set isn't your responsibility- or Carter and Sadie's for that matter. Yes it would be better for you to stay here where you won't get in any trouble."

"The Per Ankh will come for us-"

"They won't get to you." Amos declared before he straightened up, "Now, I'll show you to your room and you should apply the lotion and drink the potion- and you must drink it all Percy. Tell me do you think you can walk?"

"Uh." Percy paused, which was silly because she had been walking- but- it had probably been pure stubbornness driving her, pushing down the pain.
Now that they were safely inside and she was somewhat comfortable- the idea of trying to stand up on it- and her ankle now felt almost hot and throbbing, wasn't worth considering. "I don't think so. Sorry uncle Amos-"

"No need to apologise. Your father asked too much of you and you got hurt for it." Amos was sliding his arms under Percy's legs and beneath her back then, picking her up bridal style, and Percy let him carry her up to the third floor, where there were three doors in a row, Amos opened it with his elbow and carried her into the room, setting Percy down on the bed carefully as she held the bottles to her chest and looked around curiously.

The room was pretty cool she'd have to admit- there was a little kitchenette- though Percy didn't bother getting up to try and look at it- and there was a tv, a computer and a stereo system- a personal bathroom which was fully stocked, and a huge king-size bed- though it had an ivory headrest rather than a normal pillow. Percy knew what they were for- she remembered her dad talking about it to her mom- possibly getting her one to try and see if that fended off any unusual dreams.

There were also huge windows alongside one side of the room, and a deck that looked out on New York Harbor, with views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty in the distance, Amos must have noticed Percy's staring because he nodded.

"Yes. The home of the Greek gods. I would stay away. You have enough to deal with."

Percy nodded, not saying anything, looking away from the window and shifting on the bed, reaching down and tugging her sneakers off, tossing them to the side as Amos moved towards the door- casting a glance back in at her before he stepped out.

Percy sat for a long moment before moving, leaning over and putting the bottles on the little bedside table before she tossed the jackets onto the floor and pulled up the sleeves of her sweater.

Then she leaned over again, unscrewing the lid of the bottle with the blue liquid, pouring some into her hands and rubbing it into her skin up to her elbows before rubbing some into her face. It all stung if she was honest- that steam had been so hot and it had hurt.

The lotion was soothing against Percy's skin, and when she was done she placed the half empty bottle down on the bedside table before she slipped under the sheets, gripping them tightly as she tucked them under her chin.

The room was so big- and quiet. Sure the rooms in the hotels they usually lived in weren't like, totally tiny but they were never as big as this one. And Percy couldn't remember a time when she hadn't shared with Carter- or at least when she hadn't been able to knock on the door and slip into his room if she had a nightmare or woke up and got bored.

And the quiet wasn't Percy's friend- because now that she was alone in bed she could actually process everything that had happened.

And as brave as she'd been at the museum, as strong as she'd acted she was only a nine year old girl. A nine year old who had watched a god lock up her daddy and take him away. And now she would have to protect Carter and Sadie- they were bigger than her but they didn't know anything about magic yet.

She was scared. Scared and alone. She'd never felt so lost or alone in her entire life.

She let out a tiny little noise- cuddling up in the blankets- and she slowly let herself break, screwing her eyes shut as she sobbed- she knew she should probably drink the potion that Amos had given her but- she didn't think she'd be able to drink it- she'd probably throw up if she tried to, her stomach was suddenly churning horribly.

She sobbed, sobbed for what felt like a lifetime, until eventually darkness swallowed her.

Her sleep was dreamless, thank the gods- Percy didn't know what she'd do if she had the nightmare again. And when she woke up the sun was rising and Percy slipped out of the bed- the bottle of potion was sat on the bedside table almost looking accusing- so Percy picked it up and took it with her when she limped to the bathroom- and she opened it carefully, tilting it and pouring the liquid into the sink- it was a terrible waste but- she didn't want to drink it now and she didn't want Amos knowing she hadn't drunk it the night before.

She watched it swirl down the drain before nodding to herself.

Time to be grown up. Dad was gone; stolen by Set, mom was probably still in London having to deal with the polices' questions and worrying herself sick about them- and Amos... Percy didn't really know him. Yes he was an adult but she didn't know him. Which meant that- well, she'd been told to look after them. So that was what she was going to do. And that meant acting like a grown up.

Okay. So would what mom or dad tell her to do? Well- she looked down at herself, still covered with the dust from the night before, mom would definitely be telling her to get her butt into the shower. And the water would help- her ankle was still aching but the water would heal it- it always healed her- it got stronger the older she got- when she'd been younger it had only healed smaller things- like paper cuts, but as she'd gotten older, gotten stronger the water had been able to heal more. A twisted ankle would be easy.

And sure enough as soon as she was under the wonderfully hot water that sprayed down from the shower the pain was fading- and so was the lingering tiredness, Percy perked up, tilting her head back and letting out an almost happy noise as she let the water fill her with energy, then she got to work, scrubbing away the dirt from her hair and skin before stepping out of the shower and willing herself dry, wrapping a towel around herself as she padded back into the bedroom towards the closet.

She could probably reach into the Duat and grab her emergency bag, but she'd tired herself out the night before and she needed to be careful- after all she might have to use her magic to help Carter and Sadie sometime soon.

The closet it was then- Percy opened it and gave the clothes in it an unimpressed look- they were baggy drawstring pants and loose shirts- all plain white linen, and there were some robes for cold weather- perfect clothes for a magician but still. Boooring.

Percy pulled a face but she got dressed quickly focusing on the mirror on the wall next to the closet- full length- and she scowled at herself.

She didn't quite present the fierce image that she'd have liked too- she was too short- too skinny, and the clothes looked like pyjamas.

Still, at least she felt better than she had the night before. She could handle this now. She was nine- that was practically a teenager- almost a grown up really. There was nothing else for it.

She moved to the door and let herself out, not bothering with shoes, padding barefoot as she made her way down the stairs.

She grinned slightly when she saw Khufu- she'd have to ask Carter what type of monkey he was, her big brother was bound to know- sat on the sofa with a basketball between his legs and a chunk of strange-looking meat in his hands. It was covered in pink feathers. ESPN was on the television, and Khufu was watching highlights from the games the night before.

He looked up when she walked closer, and she gave him a small wave- but she headed towards the terrace- she could see Sadie out there with Amos- they were eating breakfast by the pool. Neither of them had noticed her yet- they looked comfortable enough though- not too cold with the fire pit blazing away.

She hesitated- Carter was still in bed- probably anyway. Did she want to join Amos and Sadie without him? It wasn't like Sadie would even want her around- but no. She'd promised to look after Sadie too, so that meant that she couldn't be scared of the older girl.

She straightened her back and stepped out onto the terrace. "Hey."

"Ah, Percy." Amos smiled widely, "It's good to see you awake."

And Sadie straightened up- and- Percy must have been losing her mind because for just a second she thought she saw a flash of relief cross the older girls face. "You look better."

"Yeah." Percy nodded, "I feel better." she gave a slightly hesitant smile, which made Sadie look away quickly- so much for the other girl being relieved then.

"Did you drink the potion?"

"Yes Uncle Amos." Percy nodded quickly, hoping he wouldn't see through her lie- it was only a little white lie really. Not a big one or a bad one.

"Wonderful." Amos smiled warmly, "Come now Percy, you can have some breakfast I'm sure you're hungry." as he spoke he poured himself a cup of coffee- and Percy moved to join them.

Amos was wearing a similar outfit to the one he'd wore the day before. His tailored suit was made of blue wool, he wore a matching fedora, and his hair was freshly braided with dark blue lapis lazuli, one of the stones the Egyptians often used for jewelry. Even his glasses matched. The round lenses were tinted blue.

And Sadie was wearing the same pyjama looking outfit as Percy- though she was still wearing her combat boots- it made her red-streaked hair look kinda silly but Percy decided not to say anything- she personally thought Sadie's hair was super cool. She wished she could have her hair like that but it was so dark that she couldn't dye it very easily.

Percy dropped into a seat next to Amos, swinging her legs as she grabbed some pancakes and syrup and some orange juice. "Where's Carter?"

"Still being lazy." Sadie spoke up, "I've been up for ages-"

"Half an hour is hardly ages." Amos looked faintly amused, "You all had a long day yesterday-"

"Percy's awake and she did more than Carter and I." Sadie pointed out- which made Percy blush.

"Yes, well." Amos let out an amused noise, "That's not the point. I'm sure your brother will be out soon." he paused, "And by the way you two. Merry Christmas."
