Aftermath

Watchpoint Gibraltar- Medical Bay- One hour later

Lena groaned as she gently opened her eyes, rubbing her head as she regained consciousness. As she became more aware of her surroundings, she realised she was lying in a bed, with an arm wrapped around her. She turned her head to her right, seeing the welcome sight of Emily lying next to her, smiling.

"Hey. How are you feeling?"

"Ugh, a bit all over the place." Lena replied, rubbing her head, gaining a chuckle from Emily as she leaned in and kissed her. "How long was I out?"

"Just over an hour." The Brit's attention shifted upwards, as Angela walked over and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, you should feel a bit better soon."

"That's good to know." Lena said, sitting herself up. As she did so, the Brit realised where exactly she was.

She was in one of the few private rooms in the medical bay, mostly used for more serious injuries or when privacy was needed. The room itself was small and unimpressive. It was a clean white, like much of the medical bay and only contained a single medical bed, a small table next to it and a few chairs for visitors.

"So." Lena began, once she'd made herself comfortable. "Anything I need to know about?"

"Nothing to worry about." Angela reassured, knowing Lena was referring to her own health. "You had some minor cuts and bruises that I've healed up but otherwise you weren't injured too badly."

Lena nodded. "So, since I'm in tip top shape, does that mean we can go grab something from the mess soon?"

Angela rolled her eyes, chuckling at the question. "You just woke up from being knocked out a few minutes ago and the first thing you think of is food."

"In fairness, we were heading over there before the attack." Lena replied, in her usual upbeat manner. "Though it was the second thing actually. The first was Emily."

"Aww, thanks babe." Emily lightheartedly said, kissing Lena's cheek and gaining a small giggle from her.

"Well normally I wouldn't have a problem with it." Angela began. "However, until we're sure there aren't any more Talon agents here, Winston thinks it's best you two stay here for now, with a few agents standing guard."

Lena sighed. "Yeah, that's fair. Who's outside then?"

"Currently, Echo and Fareeha, though Genji said he'd take her place once they're done sweeping the agents barracks."

"That's helpful, I was hoping to talk to him." Mercy looked to Lena with a puzzled look, prompting her to elaborate. "I wanted to ask for some hand to hand training. It's not my strongest point."

"In all fairness, they did drug you." Emily said, though it didn't seem to change Lena's mind.

"Yeah but I shouldn't have gone down that easily. Besides, a little practice doesn't hurt anyone. Well, apart from anyone I end up fighting, obviously."

Angela rolled her eyes again. "I'll say you want to speak to him when I next see him. In the meantime, I can get you two something to eat if you'd like?"

"You don't mind?"

"Not at all. Any preferences?"

"Fish and chips maybe?"

"Or maybe a pizza?" Emily suggested, her eyes lighting up at her idea.

"Yeah, a pizza sounds great right about now." Lena said, with a hint of excitement in her voice.

"I'll see what I can do." Angela replied, with a smile on her face. "In the meantime, if you need anything, have a word with one of the agents outside."

"Will do. Thanks Ang."

With that, the medic left for the mess hall, leaving Lena and Emily to talk amongst themselves. However, just before they did so, Lena glanced around the room, noticing that a certain small robot was currently missing.

"Where's Snowball? He wasn't too badly damaged was he?"

"Don't worry Lena, he's fine." Emily reassured. "He was damaged but Winston dropped by earlier to check in on you and offered to fix him up. He said it wasn't anything too serious and he'll drop him back over once he's finished."

"That's good to hear... What about you? How are you holding up?"

"Honestly... I'm alright. Bit shaken up but I'm okay... Still can't believe I fought those guys off."

"Like I said. You're a badass."

Emily let out a chuckle at Lena's lighthearted comment, cuddling closer to Lena and kissing her on the cheek. "Thanks babe. Though I think whatever Ana gave me was probably the main reason."

"Nah, that was just a helping hand."

Emily found herself chuckling again, as the two cuddled for a short time until Angela reappeared. The medic wasted little time, placing a surprisingly large pizza in front of the two women, with pepperoni, tomatoes and peppers as toppings. Alongside the pizza was a bowl of French fries and two cans of lemonade.

"Wow. Where did you find all this Ang?" Lena asked, not expecting such a large meal in such a short space of time.

"I have my ways." Angela replied, winking at the two before turning and heading back the way she came. "Enjoy."

With that the medic departed, leaving the two to dig into their meal. Lena picked up a pizza cutter, kindly left by Angela and sliced the pizza up, making them as evenly sized as she could, before they both grabbed a slice and began eating.

Thankfully, the two managed to remain undisturbed while they ate, something they were both grateful for. However, shortly after the two had finished, the door to the room opened and Winston stepped inside. Behind him floated Snowball who, upon seeing the two women, rushed over to them, stopping just in front of them with a happy face on its screen.

"Hey Snowball. Glad to see you're okay." Lena said, gently stroking the top of the small robot. "Sorry about what happened to you earlier..."

The happy face on Snowball's screen briefly vanished, replaced by one of concern. The robot briefly turned to Emily, looking at her for a moment, before its happy face returned. Lena Understood what the meaning of this was and once again patted the floating robot.

"Thanks Snowball. I really appreciate it."

Snowball nodded at the Brit, before floating over and cuddling up to Emily, making the redhead chuckle. While this happened, Lena's attention shifted to Winston, who'd stayed quiet until now.

"Hey big guy. Thanks for fixing Snowball up."

"No problem. The damage wasn't too bad, so it didn't take long. How are you feeling?"

"I'm doing alright thanks. No serious injuries and my headache's cleared up a bit since I woke up." Lena replied, running a hand through her hair and spiking part of it back up.

"That's good to hear."

"So what's going on out there? Anything happen while I was out?"

"Thankfully nothing." Winston moved himself closer to the bed, lowering his voice so no one else could overhear. "We think that those were the last of the Talon agents here, though me and Sombra are cross referencing our files with the data she had, just to make sure. Torbjorn's also working on repairing the doors to the agents barracks and while he does that, I'm planning on checking over the system in there and changing all the security codes for everyone's rooms. So you won't need to worry about any other security issues in there."

"That's good to hear, though now I have to learn a new code." Lena said, though her tone of voice and the small giggle that followed showed that she wasn't too annoyed by it. "On a different note, how's Athena doing?"

"She's still offline. I need to reboot her while she's disconnected from the bases systems. That way, I can fix the problem without risking a security breach. I've just not had chance to do it yet."

"Sounds like you have your work cut out. Just make sure you don't wear yourself out." Lena said, her voice unusually serious. "You must be under a lot of pressure at the moment."

"Actually, it's not as bad as you might think. Sombra's managed to take a lot of that pressure away and between us, we've managed to make a good amount of progress at getting things back to normal."

"Guess that's one of the benefits of having the world's best hacker on our side."

"Indeed. Anyway, I have a lot to get on with, so I'll better get to it. If you need anything though, just have Angela come find me."

"Thanks big guy."

Australia- Sydney

While the night was drawing in at Gibraltar, a new day had begun in Australia. It was currently approaching 6 in the morning, at least it was according to the watch of the gentleman that currently walked the streets of the city.

The man was dressed in a blue suit, complete with a white undershirt and a blue bow tie. In his one hand he carried a black briefcase, sealed shut by a combination lock, which only he knew the code for. In the other hand he held a newspaper, which he'd grabbed earlier from a shop that happened to be open so early.

As he progressed towards his destination, he once again looked at his watch, sighing as the clock read 6:07. He sighed not because he was late but because of the fact he had to be awake so early. Thankfully he didn't have much further to walk, as the office block when he was heading was now in sight. It was a fairly standard looking, eight floor building, with little of note apart from its grey paint job, which was beginning to fade and was in need of redoing.

Before he reached the office block, he debated stopping off to buy some lunch. Perhaps a pasta with some salad or even simply a sandwich from the nearby supermarket. However, he decided against it, knowing he'd be able to sit down in a restaurant after he finished his business here and moved on to his next destination.

With that decided, the businessman stepped inside the building, making the short walk to the front desk. Manning the desk was a young woman, clearly in her early twenties. Next to the desk was a small security barrier, which protected the elevator and stairway up to the offices above.

"She has to be new." The man thought to himself, as he made his way towards the barrier. He took note of her brown hair, which had been tied back into a ponytail as well as her welcoming smile, which she gave him as he approached. Normally, those who worked the front desk rarely looked up and even when they did, they never seemed quite so welcoming as she did.

Yes, she definitely was new.

"Good morning." She said to him, somehow full of energy despite how early in the morning it was.

"Good morning." The businessman replied, as he swiped his ID card and the barrier opened. "I haven't seen you before. Are you new?"

"Yes I am." The woman replied, just as energetic. "I started a few days ago, so I'm still finding my feet. I'm Sarah by the way."

"Ah, I thought as much. Well from what I've seen, you're doing an excellent job Sarah."

"Aww, thank you. Have a good day now."

"You too."

As the man headed through the door and headed up the stairs, Sarah looked down to the computer sitting in front of her, continuing to type away at the document she was currently working on. However, she was soon distracted by the noise of the main door opening again. She finished the sentence she was working on and then looked up, intending to give this person just as good a welcoming as the last one.

However, when she looked up and saw the figure standing in front of her, she was frozen in place, her energetic mood suddenly replaced by one thing.

Fear.

Further up the building, unaware of the events unfolding on the ground floor, the businessman had taken the elevator to the sixth floor, swiping his ID card on the door to gain entrance to the intended offices. He didn't need to walk far before he found a second man, this time dressed in a grey suit, waiting for him.

"Morning Charlie." The man in the grey suit said, folding his arms as he leaned against the wall. "Early start then?"

"Unfortunately. Seems these documents simply can't wait a few more hours." The blue suited man sarcastically replied, placing his briefcase down on a nearby table and opening it. He picked up a small, unmarked folder, containing very few pieces of paper inside and passed it over.

"That's it? They woke us both up this early for that little paperwork?"

"Apparently. Must be important though. At least it better be."

"Not like you'd do anything if it wasn't." The grey suited man said, as he took the folded and opened it, reading through the few papers inside.

As he did this, another two men appeared from around the corner. unlike them however, these two were dressed casually, simply wearing a T-shirt and a pair of jeans. They stopped what they were doing and looked at the two suited men for a moment, before continuing on, talking quietly to each other as they headed away.

"You have some people upstairs I take it?" Charlie asked, watching the two casually dressed men disappear around the corner. He heard a door open shortly after and concluded they'd gone upstairs.

"Yeah, they arrived last night. Seems these files are related to whatever their next task is."

"You don't know what it is?"

"No. That way, if something goes wrong, I don't know anything and can play dumb."

Charlie opened his mouth, intending to say something but was cut off by someone else, who hadn't been there moments again.

"You better not try that with me."

Both men spun around to the main door, seeing Reaper standing with his arms folded. Since the fight outside Junkertown, Reaper had replaced his damaged mask and cloak, leaving no trace of the former battle. The two men instinctively took a few steps back, trying to put some distance between them. In this office block though, they knew it would make very little difference.

"You both know why I'm here, so let's not waste any time. Those files. Hand them over."

"You think we're just going to hand them over like that?" The grey suited man said. "There's a squad upstairs..."

"And what exactly do you think they're going to do?" Reaper replied, stepping towards the grey suited man. "An entire base of soldiers couldn't stop me and I'm sure word's spread about what happened to the two junkers sent after me. Do you really think a single squad in a random Talon safe house are a match for me?"

The grey suited Talon agent took a moment of pause, looking over to Charlie, who after a short few seconds, finally spoke up.

"If we hand them over, will you let us leave?"

Reaper simply nodded, watching the two agents in front of him carefully.

"Okay then. Hand them over."

"What? Just like that? You know Talon will likely kill us if we do."

"And I'll kill you if you don't." Reaper replied, causing the two suited agents to pause again, before Charlie spoke up.

"I think he's a bigger threat to us than Talon right now. Give him the file."

Reaper found himself chuckling. "At least one of you has some brains."

The grey suited agent considered objecting, before he sighed and handed the documents to the ex-Talon agent, who snatched them away with a surprising amount of force.

"And the briefcase."

Charlie didn't hesitate, pushing his briefcase towards Reaper. "It's yours."

Reaper glanced at the files now in his clawed hand, before placing them down on the nearby table.

"Where else were Talon sending you?"

"There's a list in the briefcase."

"Right..." Reaper looked inside the briefcase, seeing the list in question but not taking much time to look at it. Instead, a mere few seconds later, a Hellfire shotgun appeared in his hand, which he aimed at the grey suited agent.

"Wait! You said..!"

"I lied."

A single shot came from Reaper's weapon and the grey suited man fell backwards, dead before he even hit the floor. The second suited agent didn't wait around though, sprinting away from Reaper and around the corner, finding the door that lead to the upper levels of the office.

He paid no mind to the fact that Reaper hadn't actually shot at him, or the fact that he wasn't right behind him. In fact when he reached the next level up, where the squad of soldiers currently staying in the building were, there was no sign of the former Talon operative at all.

"What the hell's going on down there?" The Talon squad leader asked, while readying a rifle.

"Reaper's here."

"Crap."

As if on cue, the door Charlie had just ran through opened and a cloud of black smoke floated into the room. The squad of soldiers all began firing, trying desperately to take down the former Talon agent. However, it was a futile effort. The cloud of smoke swirled around the soldiers, before Reaper appeared behind them. He gave them little time to react, gunning down two soldiers instantly.

The remaining three offered little resistance, as Reaper tossed one of his weapons away and grabbed the nearest soldier. He threw them into another, causing them to tumble down, while he aimed his other weapon and fired at the last trooper. As he fell, he switched targets to the two now on the floor, using the remaining two bullets in his weapon to finish them off.

With the last of the troopers neutralised, Reaper turned his attention to the only surviving Talon agent. Charlie had been fortunate enough to not be targeted during the fight, yet Reaper was now beelining for him.

With few options left, Charlie reached for one of the fallen soldiers weapons, managing to put a hand on one of their rifles. Yet he never got the chance to raise it, as Reaper slammed his foot onto the weapon before clamping one of his clawed hands around the Talon agents neck, lifting him up with little trouble.

"I gave you... what you wanted..." Charlie struggled to say, as he tried to free himself from the former Talon agents death grip.

Reaper let out a small chuckle and tightened his grip around the suited agents grip. "Yes. Yet I need Talon to not find out about this immediately... and there's one easy way of doing that."

He gave Charlie a few moments to compute the meaning of his words, before reaching for a new weapon and firing it through his chest. Once the agent was dead, Reaper dropped his lifeless body and began walking back to the stairs. He headed back the way he came, stopping to scoop up the files and the briefcase he'd collected earlier, before continuing down to the lobby.

When he reached the ground floor, he walked over to the main desk, stopping in front of it and coming face to face with the woman from earlier.

"Now, what exactly did you see?"

"Nothing. I saw no one enter or leave that office."

"Good." Reaper reached into his cloak and pulled out a roll of money, throwing it onto the desk. "Make sure no one goes up there."

The woman looked at the money, cautiously extending her hand out, like she was expecting a trap and picked it up. When nothing happened, she quickly nodded her head, doing her best not to fall apart in front of Reaper.

Satisfied with her response, Reaper turned and walked out of the building, not bothering to hide as he casually opened the door and turned right, heading up the street. He didn't walk far before he came across another woman, this time with short, brown hair and dressed like a jogger.

She was leaning against the wall with a coffee in her hand and didn't seem at all phased by the sight of Reaper. When the ex-Talon agent passed her, she leaned up and began following him, catching up to him with a short jog before changing to a normal walking speed.

"She seemed scared shitless. You know all that won't stay quiet for more than a day right?"

"That's all I need." Reaper replied, not once looking at the woman now walking next to her. They continued for another few steps, before taking a right into a small alley.

"You find what you were looking for I take it?" The woman asked, as Reaper pulled out the file he recovered.

"Yes." Reaper answered, as he passed the briefcase over. "While I look into this, you're going to find out what you can about these documents, then send me what you discover. Everything you need should be in there."

The woman placed the briefcase on the ground, kneeling down as she opened it and analysed the contents inside.

"Aye, I'll get right on it. Anything else you need me to..."

The woman looked back up, yet found that she was now alone.

"I guess that's a no then."

Watchpoint Gibraltar-23:20

It had been some time now since the Talon infiltrators had been dealt with and the base had retuned to some form of normality. Torbjorn had been hard at work over at the agents barracks and had managed to replace the main door, while Winston had been resetting the security systems in that section of the base.

For now, Lena and Emily we're still in the medical bay, being guarded by two agents at all times until they were sure there were no more infiltrators. That was one of the many tasks that Sombra had taken up, alongside running a number of the watchpoint's systems while Athena was still down.

For the remaining agents and for the other base personnel, they all returned to their day to day routines, though everyone was a little more cautious than usual. Sojourn took over from Morrison in the cell block, which now housed the four captured infiltrators, giving the strike commander the chance to rest. Ana remained in place at the command centre, while McCree finally got some much needed sleep, after being awake far too long for his own liking.

In Widow's case, she had been one of the agents which had secured the agents barracks some time ago but otherwise she'd had very little to do. She'd briefly visited the cell block to see if she could be of any help but Morrison had decided to let the prisoners sit for a while before they attempted to interrogate them again.

As time had gone on and the day turned into night, Widow had little else to do and found herself passing the rest of the day with some reading in her room. However, as it got later and later, she realised that Sombra still hadn't finished her work.

Sombra had said she'd come find her once she was finished, yet as Widow glanced towards the clock in her room and saw the time, she decided that the hacker needed a break.

With that in mind, Widow headed over to the mess hall and found her way into the kitchen, the other occupants paying her little mind as she collected a few ingredients from the various cupboards and fridges. After a short amount of time, Widow had whipped up two sandwiches, one for herself and one for Sombra.

Once the two meals were ready, Widow wrapped both of them up, placed them on a tray, alongside a couple cups of coffee and began making her way over to Winston's lab, where Sombra was currently working.

Upon arriving, she didn't immediately see Sombra, yet she could make out the distinct sound of typing from her personal computer and quickly deduced that she was in the upstairs office.

In the office, Sombra was busy working in front of several monitors, including her own. Widow couldn't make out what was on most of the various screens but was able to see the logo for Athena taking up one of them.

The hacker was so wrapped up in what she was doing that she never even noticed Widow approaching, nor hear when she knocked on the door in an attempt to gain her attention. In the end, it took Widow clearing her throat before the hacker realised she was there.

"Huh? Oh hey Amelie. Sorry, I was in the zone."

"I could tell." Widow lightheartedly replied, as she stepped into the office and placed the tray of food down in front of Sombra. "I thought you might need something to eat."

Sombra glanced over to the nearest clock, which just so happened to be on her own computer screen, going wide eyed when she saw it.

"Whoa, it's that late..? I must have been too wrapped up in all this." The hacker stated, closing her own computer screen and taking one of the wrapped sandwiches that Widow handed her. She unwrapped the surprise meal as Widow dragged another chair over, seeing just what Widow had brought her.

Inside the foil wrapping was a lightly toasted sandwich, containing sliced ham, cheese, some tomato, cucumber and lettuce.

"You know just how to treat a girl, don't you?"

"I have my moments." Widow replied, with a chuckle. "Looks like you have a lot to do."

"It looks worse than it is." Sombra replied, taking a bite of her food before continuing. "I've got most of the base running on automatic right now and I've gone through a good amount of the personnel files to see if we have any more Talon agents. Thankfully, I've not found anything."

"That's something good." Widow paused, waiting as Sombra took another mouthful of food before she continued. "What about Athena? She's unusually quiet."

"I've isolated her onto this one computer and she's in a low power mode, so I could check over her systems." Sombra said, pointing to the screen with Athena's logo on it. "Winston's been busy so I've been doing it for him. She did have a virus, which was how Talon we're able to infiltrate us without anyone realising but I've managed to remove it. Now I'm just scanning her in case they left any more surprises and I'm also going to upgrade her security while I'm at it."

"You've been at this since the attack?"

"Pretty much, yeah."

"It seems like you have a lot to handle. Are you sure you're not overworking yourself?" Widow asked, raising an eyebrow at the hacker, though having a playful tone as she asked.

"No, I'm fine. Nothing I can't handle." Sombra replied, chuckling at Widow's tone of voice. "On a serious note, I was planning on calling it a night once I'd finished scanning Athena and looking through the files. Shouldn't take too much longer now. Thanks for worrying though."

"Well someone has to make sure you actually get some sleep and don't work all the way through the night."

"Oh trust me, I'm not doing that again after the last time." The hacker said, letting out another chuckle. "Remember how annoyed Gabe was when I turned up to a briefing the one morning half asleep?"

"Half asleep? I'm pretty sure you fell asleep five minutes in."

"In my defence, it wasn't the most exciting meeting in the world. Gabe should've made it a bit more interesting."

"Well Gabriel shouting at you when he realised did liven it up."

"Not quite what I meant." Sombra said, as the two women laughed at the memory. She briefly paused for another bite to eat, speaking up again once she'd finished chewing. "This is really good by the way."

"Merci... I don't suppose you've seen anything recently about what Gabriel might be up to?"

"Actually, there was something." Sombra opened her computer and flicked her screen to the left, bringing up a new window and quickly finding a file. "This hasn't made it into mainstream channels yet but someone claimed the bounty on Junkrat and Roadhog. Now I don't know for sure who it was but considering what happened at Junkertown..."

"You think Gabriel claimed it?"

"Or someone on his behalf. Junkrat and Roadhog were worth millions and since Gabe's no longer with Talon, I'd be surprised if he didn't claim it. Other than that, I can't find anything. He's completely off the grid."

"He's planning something..."

"Definitely." Sombra agreed, closing her computer screen so she could take a small break. As she did this, the two women could make out the sound of someone walking up the stairs, approaching the office. After a few moments, Winston came into view, giving both a welcoming smile as he walked into the office.

"Ah hello Amelie. How are you?"

"Good, thank you. Yourself?"

"More relaxed now that I've finished in the agents barracks. I've made sure everything's secure over there and I've updated the security codes for everyone's rooms. I'm planning on giving everyone theirs tomorrow But since you're both here, I can give you yours now if you want?"

Both Sombra and Widow nodded, watching as Winston moved over to his desk and found a piece of paper. Tearing it into two, he wrote a code on each piece, handing one to each of them.

"They should be working but make sure to try them and double check." The gorilla explained, before returning to the original topic. "How are things over here Sombra?"

"So far, everything seems okay. The base is running fairly normally and I've not found anything of concern in the system. I've also cleared the virus from Athena and I'm just upgrading her security and doing a final check over her systems before bringing her fully back online."

"Sounds like you've been busy."

"Nothing I couldn't handle." The hacker smirked, taking a drink from the coffee Widow brought her and opening her computer again. "I'm almost done checking over the personnel files and once I'm sure she's good to go, I was going to bring Athena back online."

"Can you wait until the morning for Athena? I don't doubt your skills but I'd like to run through a few things with her and I'd prefer to be more awake when I do so."

"Sure thing." Sombra replied, opening another file on her computer, which turned out to be a to do list and removing a line of text. "You can get some rest if you want. Most of the base is on automatic, so it should be fine until the morning."

"Are you sure? You've had a lot to do and you need to rest too."

Before Sombra could answer, Widow spoke in her place.

"Don't worry Winston. I'll stay with her while she finishes up and make sure she actually gets some sleep."

Winston considered the point, before gently nodding his head. "If you two are sure, then I'll leave you to it. Just come and wake me if you need anything."

"Will do."

With that, the gorilla turned and headed out, walking down the stairs and into a room in the back of the lab. As he did this, Sombra turned to face Widow with a sceptical look.

"Make sure I actually get some sleep? I'm not that bad... am I?"

"Well, you have gotten carried away in the past." Widow said with a playful tone. "Besides, you could probably do with some company."

"Aww, you're such a romantic." Sombra replied, nudging over to Widow to give her a kiss on her cheek. "I will warn you though, this might not be the most exciting thing in the world to watch."

"I've sat through some of the most boring Talon briefings. I'm sure I'll survive."

After sharing a small chuckle, the two finished their meals before Sombra reopened her computer and resumed her work. Widow watched as the hacker flicked through various screens on her computer and jumped between her own and the one on the desk.

It was probably the first time Widow actually watched her work with any real interest and she couldn't help but become mesmerised. The hacker was extremely efficient, being able to multitask like it was second nature to her.

"Can I ask you something?" Widow eventually asked, after watching the hacker work for some time, her curiosity getting the better of her.

"Sure, what's up?"

"I'm curious. When you're using your computer, how do you manage to keep up with everything?"

Sombra paused upon hearing this question, considering how to answer it.

"I haven't really thought about it so it's a bit difficult to explain but I think it's a mixture between my cybernetics and experience. I was already a good hacker long before I became Sombra. When I erased my identity and disappeared, the cybernetics improved my hacking abilities and gave me a lot more control over what I could do. It took a bit of getting used to but once I was comfortable with it, I stopped having to think about what I was doing and it just became second nature... Does that make any sense to you?"

"I think it does. I'd say it's similar to my training and conditioning. Talon trained me and then conditioned me to improve the skills I learnt. If I think back, it was something that I had to get used to. Now I don't pay it any mind and my skills are just naturally there."

"Yeah, that's not a bad way of putting it actually. Anything else you're curious about?" The hacker asked, winking as she did so.

"Actually there is. I know you can use your computer at any time but are you able to just switch it off?"

"So that it's off completely and doesn't disturb me? Yeah, I can do that. I can stop it notifying me of anything until I switch it back on. It's not something I do very often though"

"Hmm. How interesting." Widow said with a smirk. "I'm sure I can find you a reason to do so."

"I'm sure you could." Sombra flirtatiously replied, giving Widow another quick wink before focusing back on her work. Thankfully, the assassin was merciful and let the hacker work uninterrupted, deciding to simply observe her instead.

It was just over an hour later when the hacker finally finished up, completing the final checks on Athena and having her ready for Winston to reboot. Once she'd done so, she closed down her own computer and Winston's computers and leaned back in her chair, taking a deep breath.

"Okay, I'm done."

Sombra briefly closed her eyes, taking a moment to relax. During this brief time, she heard Widow stand up and take a few steps, before she placed her hands on the hackers shoulders, beginning to give her a gentle massage.

"Mmm, that feels nice."

Widow let out a small chuckle. "Sit yourself up for me."

Sombra did just that, scooting herself up so that she was sitting up straight and letting out a few quiet groans as Widow began working the tension out of her arms and her back. After a short amount of time, Widow leaned down and gently kissed Sombra.

"Better?"

"Much better thanks. That was just what I needed."

"I thought it might be." Widow said with a grin. "I have a bottle of wine in my room. Want a drink?"

"Sure. I think I could do with one."

After doing a quick check to make sure the base was running smoothly, Sombra stood up, wrapping an arm around Widow and walking with her at a leisurely pace. They briefly stopped so Sombra could dim the lights in the lab, before continuing on their stroll back to Widow's quarters.

"Sombra?" Widow eventually said, breaking the comfortable silence between them.

"Hmm?"

"I was wondering if you'd like to go out again at some point? Maybe go for dinner one night?"

"Yeah, dinner sounds nice." The hacker said, softly placing her head against Widow. "Do you have somewhere in mind?"

"A place Lena mentioned. It's apparently quite nice. We could dress up again and just let our hair down."

"Sounds like a plan."

Authors note

Hey everyone

So this chapter is a little overdue... or quite a bit overdue. I took a bit of a break from writing after the last chapter and then I ended up a bit busy lately, so I've not had much chance to work on the story. Still, here it is and hopefully the next chapter won't take as long as this.

So thanks for reading and see you in the next chapter :)
