Hey guys, I think you'll enjoy this chapter, Percy is an epic badass.
Replies:
Ryan Fowler: Percy very much wants to beat his ass- but remember she is a nine year old so I mean, be fair to her. She's still pretty badass.
Weirdhead: It's what he deserves.
Guest: I won't say much, just read. As for power levels- Percy does have the most raw power- but she doesn't have full control over her power yet, and she's not yet at her full potential, also, remember she's nine so there's only so much power her body can take without burning out.
Mia Malkova: Percy is a dramatic little shit.
Deborah Swenson: Well I mean, not quite yet.
Guest: That would be funny.

For just a few moments Percy thought that they had a chance- if Carter could break free and help then she and him could kick Set's butt together- but Carter was still struggling, desperately trying to free himself- and from the look on his face that wasn't the only battle he was fighting- he was fighting Horus too, trying to keep control- damn it they didn't need that right now!

And Percy's single moment of inattention was all it took, it was little more than a glance at Carter- but a second later there was an explosion of heat and steam and Percy flew backwards- the only thing that stopped her from going crashing into the wall and falling into the trenches was Zia- who launched herself at Percy, bearing them both to the ground hard,- and Percy could hear Carter, Sadie and her mom all screaming as they landed- Percy hitting the ground face first- which was probably better than falling into the trench- but still didn't feel very nice. Percy was pretty sure that she wouldn't want to look at a mirror for a few days based on the fact that her face was basically throbbing from the impact with the ground.

"Percy! Percy are you-" Zia's frantic voice turned into a pained cry, and the arms that had still been around Percy were ripped away.

Percy let out a panicked cry as she pushed herself up onto shaking hands and turned her head to see what happened- though her vision was kinda blurry- which could not be a good sign- and was that blood dripping into her eyes? Her body ached all over she knew that much, but she fought through it- and her gaze managed to focus on Zia, who was now several feet away- and Set was stood over her, his foot on her back, pushing her down.

"Stop it!" Percy managed to force the words out over the ringing in her ears. "Leave her alone!" and she could still hear the others screaming, distant, faint beneath the roaring, "Stop it!" because he was putting too much pressure- Zia couldn't breath Percy could see from the look on her face- the way her eyes were glazing over- though it probably wasn't helped by the fact that she had a bloody gash on her forehead above her left eye.

Set turned his head to look towards Percy, pressing his foot down harder- and Percy heard the crack of something breaking- saw Zia's eyes flutter closed and her body stop with what little fight it had had left in it- and then a gust of wind sent him stumbling backwards, forced away from Zia- and Percy turned her head to look back and Sadie was rushing towards them, her expression grim. "Get away from them!"

"How cute." Set laughed, "You think you can protect them?" Set moved then, and Percy dropped down just in time to avoid the blast of fire that would have probably killed her- it only missed her very narrowly, it was inches above her if that- and Sadie had to throw herself to the side to avoid the fire.

"TAS!" and Percy blinked rapidly because ropes suddenly formed around Set- and she turned her head to see her mom stood in front of Amos' unconscious form, her staff in hand- and Percy really wasn't used to seeing her mom fighting, it was strange- in a good way Percy decided. Her mom was so badass. And then she started to chant- but she didn't get to say much because Set snarled, breaking free from the ropes as he thrust his staff forward- sending a wave of flames and sand towards Sally- Percy screamed as her mom dove out of the way, her chanting cut off as she hit the ground, throwing her arms over her head-to stop herself from getting caught by the searing flames, and the force of the fiery blast must have knocked something loose because Percy could see stones falling from above, hitting her mom- and something inside of Percy snapped at that sight- at the sight of Set attacking her mother.

Her mother who wasn't a fighter- who wasn't trained in combat, who didn't have a god or goddess chilling out inside of her head.

The scream Percy let out was more rage than anything else as she staggered to her feet- loud enough that she saw Sadie clutching at her ears. And she felt a twisting pulling uncomfortable sensation in the pit of her stomach as the very ground beneath them started to shake- and Set stumbled, eyes narrowing before there were loud cracking sounds that filled the air around them as the very ground beneath them started to crack.

Set's eyes widened, a sudden look of- was that fear in his eyes as he stumbled backwards away from a crack that split the ground between them. "Stop it! Stop it now!" and of course he was scared Percy realised with a rush of shock. Of course he was- if she could make the earth shake enough she could bring down his whole stinking pyramid but- but they were all still inside- it would kill all of them- Percy forced herself to calm, forced herself to let go of the power and she found the world spinning around her- though she managed to stay upright.

Careful little one- that wasn't magic that was your demigod abilities- you have never pushed yourself so far have you? Strain yourself too much without taking the time to train and you will hurt yourself.

Percy didn't have time to respond because Sadie was screaming her name and Set was leaping across the crack in the ground- which had started to fill with the same red liquid as was in the trench- and his hand was suddenly around her throat and she was being lifted off the ground. "You are too much of a threat to allow to survive-"

And Percy couldn't breath, couldn't speak his grip was too tight- too tight- and Percy- she'd smashed her head and her face when Zia had knocked her off course, and her head was pounding, her vision was still going blurry every few seconds and- and now she felt tired from causing the Earthquake too, she couldn't focus on anything, she couldn't fight off a god right now. Who did she think she was kidding- and she let out a sob as Set raised a glowing red hand she could feel the heat coming off of it in waves as his hand came closer and closer to her face- and gods but he was going to kill her he was going to kill her-

"NOW!" the voice was Carters and not Carters at the same time- and Percy managed to turn her head very slightly- though it really wasn't much- but she could see Carter- and holy crap.

The spell Set had used to pin him to the wall clearly wasn't working anymore, Carter was surrounded by a combat avatar- a glowing blue twenty foot tall hawk-headed warrior- holding a blade of pure energy. If the situation was slightly less dire Percy would be cheering at the sight.

"So, Horus." Set's voice was annoyed, "You managed to find the pedals of your little bike, eh? That doesn't mean that you can ride it."

"I am Carter Kane." Carter's voice was firmer than Percy had ever heard it before, far far more confident. "Blood of the Pharaohs, Eye of Horus, and now, Set- Brother, uncle, traitor, if you do not let go of my sister I am going to tear you limb from limb and crush you like a gnat."

"I'd like to see you tr-" Set was cut off by Percy swinging her fist around and punching him hard in the face- not the most graceful or effective of moves, she would admit that much, but it wasn't one he'd expected.

His surprise was enough- even though his grip didn't loosen much Percy was able to rip herself free, sucking in desperate lungfuls of air through a throat that was painful.

She dropped to her knees, coughing desperately as she pressed her hands to her throat- and that gave Carter the opening he needed.

He collided with Set- and Percy threw her hands up the shield her head as he did- her gaze meeting Sadie's- both of them were crouched. "G-get to mom!"
Percy managed to choke out, though her voice was incredibly hoarse.

Sadie hesitated for the briefest second before she nodded, staggering to her feet and rushing towards where Sally was still still on the ground- she did have to leap over several cracks in the ground but she reached Sally quickly- and Percy moved too, dragging herself to where Zia was still sprawled on the ground- flinching and covering her head whenever debris rained down on her- Carter and Set's fight was explosive to say the least, and it was causing a lot of collateral damage.

Still, she managed to reach Zia, and she hitched her arms under the other girls shoulder, hauling her towards where Sadie was with Sally and Amos.
Admittedly it was difficult- Percy got hit by stone and other flying debris more than once, but she managed to reach them, even as Carter blasted the vent that Set had closed so recently wide open once more.

Clearly he wanted to get out of the chamber- he'd be more able to fight out in the open, when he didn't have to worry about bringing the whole thing down on top of them.

Percy yelped when yet more debris rained down on them. A particularly sharp piece of stone slicing down her arm- Percy just gritted her teeth and kept moving until she reached the others- her mom had a nasty lump on her head, she could see that very quickly- though her breathing looked pretty normal to Percy- and Amos was eerily still- still breathing yes but- he didn't look good, it was painfully worrying to Percy.

But at least Sadie was still awake- and she hugged Percy tightly as soon as the younger girl was close enough, and Percy let go of Zia for just a second to hug Sadie back before Sadie was moving again, scrambling, and Percy moved quickly to help her- sure Sadie could probably do a protective circle on her own at this stage, but it would be stronger if both of them worked on it- and soon enough they were surrounded by protective shields- two of them, which was probably for the best because there was still a lot of debris falling- which the shields helped to deflect- but there would be a limit to how much one shield could take- hopefully the fact that there were two would buy them time- though Percy's breath caught when Carter nearly stepped on the outer shield- he was behind Set- he'd actually managed to grab onto him- their fight had turned into grappling, but Carter seemed to be holding his own. That was reassuring.
Percy grabbed Sadie's hand, heart racing, opening her mouth to speak before- her eyes widened in shock as she watched as Set started to shrink- and Carter did too- and she let out a slightly hysterical laugh when she realised what Carter was doing.

He'd managed to surprise Set. Set who was transforming into a fruit bat as she and Sadie watched- and Carter was a falcon once more, clutching the fruit bat form of Set in his claws- Percy clamped her hand over her mouth to keep in more laughter as the falcon shot upwards towards the vent- and then he was out of sight and Percy turned her gaze to Sadie, her heart pounding in her chest, "Sadie-"

"You're hurt Percy-"

"I know. But I can't leave Carter to fight him on his own-"

"You- Percy have you seen yourself lately you're bleeding I-" Sadie looked terrified as she stared at Percy. ."Please, please gods don't- I-" she looked like she wanted to cry.

"Sadie I'll be fine. I always am. But I won't do it you have to understand. You guys are pretty safe here for now- Carter... he's fighting Set." sure he could probably handle it- Carter was proving himself to be very capable but- it wasn't in Percy's soul to let her brother fight without her. She couldn't do it- whereas Sadie would be safe enough with the others for now, there were no immediate threats.

"But-" Sadie stared at Percy for a very long moment- and there was a glint of understanding in her eyes as she reached out and grabbed Percy's hand, squeezing it tightly, "Just be careful weirdo. I don't want to lose Carter sure- but I definitely don't wanna lose my baby sister either so you watch what you're doing, you hear me?" and Percy blinked rapidly, forcing back the tears that stung her eyes at the fact that Sadie had caller her her sister. That felt good- it was comforting.

"I'll be careful." Percy promised before pausing, "And- Sadie?"

"Yeah?"

"Evil Day. Set's secret name is Evil Day."

Sadie blinked slowly, "Evil Day." she breathed words before she gave a small nod, "Got it. Now go, before our idiot of a brother gets his ass kicked."

"Of course." Percy stepped out of the circle slowly, tilting her head so that she could look up at the sky above them.

Let us fly little one.

And Percy grinned slightly "With pleasure." and with that she was focusing- and a few seconds later she was transformed, soaring upwards into the air, towards the hole above her.

Her brother needed her help after all.
