Chapter 25: A New Start
Dipper was pacing back and forth right in front of the vending machine.
He couldn't help it.
Of course Stan was waiting far longer than he was to look through the Journal for a cure.
He deserved to activate the portal before he looked through it.
But still, he really wanted to look through it.
"Remember there's a chance there's no cure." Said Mabel.
"I know… but still…" said Dipper, "But if the author did figure one out then it will help so many people."
"Like Soos and Thompson." Said Mabel.
"Exactly… and those are the only two people I can think of." Said Dipper.
Mabel liked turning into a unicorn and turning into a Kitsune gave Pacifica freedom to whatever er she wanted without her parents knowing.
But Soos had a weird addiction as a bear and Thompson…
He was a skunk.
Which was bad for obvious reasons.
So yeah… Dipper wasn't the only who would benefit from a cure.
There were plenty.
He just had to wait for Stan to be done with whatever he was doing.
That was when the Vending Machine opened up.
"Well?" asked Dipper.
Stan just tossed the journal at him.
"I skimmed through it, saw some stuff, copied everything, but yeah… go nuts." Said Stan.
Dipper nodded and left.
"He's going to be busy for the next several hours." Said Stan.
"You got that right!" laughed Mabel.
Meanwhile with Sayaka she was staring at the celling. Sure she was still living there while everything was strengthen out but there was so much more happening.
Of course it had to end one day.
She didn't think it would end like this…
She had hoped at that at least they would find the journal in the forest…
A triumph celebration after so much searching.
But nope… someone had beaten them to the journal a long time ago.
Who knows what was going to happen now.
That was when Mabel came into the room.
"Hey! What's got you down?" asked Mabel.
"Nothing…" said Sayaka.
"Boop!" said Mable poking her nose.
Sayaka looked at Mabel, who just poked her again saying "Boop."
"You're just going to keep doing that until I talk aren't you?" asked Sayaka.
"Boop." Answered Mabel.
Sayaka sighed.
"Boop…" she said again.
"Fine!" sighed Sayaka, "I'll tell you what's wrong…"
"Boop!" she said.
"Fine!" said Sayaka.
But before she could say more Kitsu entered the room and pouted.
"Oh… what's you problem?" asked Mabel.
"I don't have a problem…" muttered the Kitsune girl.
"It looks like you have a problem…" said Mabel in a sing-song voice.
"I don't have a problem." Said Kitsu.
"Are you sure?" asked Mabel.
"I'm sure…" pouted Kitsu.
And so Mabel decided to do what she did earlier.
"Boop!" said Mable looking her.
She's going to keep doing this until I say what's wrong… isn't she?" asked Kitsu.
"She is." Said Sayaka.
"Fine!" said Katsuki.
Before Kitsu could say anything Candy came into the room.
"Okay!" said Mabel putting the pieces together, "I'm starting to see the pattern here…"
"What?" asked Candy but before Mabel could say anything there was a shout from Stan.
"EVERYBODY OUT! NOW!" yelled Stan.
They all looked at each other and headed down stairs.
They found Dipper and watched from the doorway what was going on in the gift shop.
"The government…" said Dipper.
"Oh no…" whispered Sayaka.
They knew that Sayaka didn't exactly made her way to Gravity Falls legally, plays her aunt was the queen of the underworld… so…
They watched as Stan managed to get the two agents to leave the Mystery Shack.
As it was clear they were after the paranormal.
"What was that about?" asked Dipper.
"Probably got the readings from…" said Stan then noticed the other kids, "That project I'm working on."
The twins nodded while the other girls was confused.
"Look whatever it is I got them off my back and it's fine.,.. just forget about them… and it has nothing to do with you or your aunt." Said Stan.,
"That's good." Said Sayaka breathing a sigh of relief.
"Well I should get back to Journal 2…" said Dipper.
"You didn't just skip to Jusenkyo?" asked Kitsu surprised.
"I figured that it would be a good idea to read what came before." Said Dipper.
The three girls seemed to slightly deflate at this.
"Seriously?" mumbled Grenda.
"Okay… time for girl talk." Said Mabel.
"Do we have to?" asked Kitsu.
"Do you want me to keep booping you?" asked Mabel.
"What?" asked Candy.
"Boop!" said Mabel poking her in the nose.
"Okay that…" said Candy.
"Let's just talk everything out…" sighed Kitsu.
"Come to my room just in case." Said Sayaka.
They knew she was referring to Dipper.
Of course Dipper was just reading the journal.
He couldn't put it down.
That was when he found it… the entry on Jusenkyo.
"This is it!" said Dipper.
And so he continued to reason.
Back in Sayaka' room…
"Seriously you think we'll stop changing out with you guys now the quest is over." Said Mabel.
"Well not that…" said Candy.
"It's just a big change…" said Sayaka.
"Well that does make some sense…" said Mabel, "But we're still going to hang out… we just have to figure out ways that's not the searching for the Journal anymore…"
Sayaka and Kitsu both sighed…after all, it was clear neither of them were used to real friendships.
"Really Candy… you shouldn't be pouting like them…" said Grenda.
"Sayaka is still living here." Said Candy.
"Oh yeah…" said Sayaka blushing.
"Yeah… and you can go in public without using your curse." Said Kitsu.
"I'm not cursed…" said Sayaka.
"No… but I am…" said Kitsu.
"And her parents…" said Candy shuddering.
"But still! You guys shouldn't be feel too bad." Said Mabel, "Besides… there's a really good chance there's no cure in the Journal."
"Oh yeah…" said Kitsu.
"We can figure out other ways to hang out… and to get him from being all mopey." Said Mabel.
Meanwhile Dipper was well all Mopey while Stan was experimenting with black lights for an idea for a black light enhanced exhibit.
"Look we knew there was a chance that was going to happen so don't be that way… once we get my brother back we can get the real answers we need." Said Stan.
"I guess…" said Dipper.
That was when he looked through Journal 2… and suddenly he something he didn't expect to see…
More writing… but glowing and it wasn't there before…
"No way!" said Dipper.
"I didn't know about that either…" said Stan.
Dipper flipped to the Jusenkyo page… which just had some additional notes, but no cure.
"Oh man…" said Dipper.
"I wonder that that comment about spring of drowned fairy princess thing is…" said Stan.
"Maybe someone he knows…" said Dipper with a shrug.
"How about you and you kids just do some tuff with the these invisible notes… it's going to be a few weeks until I'm able to get him back." Said Stan.
"I guess so…" said Dipper.
"Plus the girls will have fun with that." Said Stan.
"Sure…" said Dipper.
Stan just wanted to face palm at that reaction….
Dipper left to tell Mabel and the others what he found.
"Hey!" called out Dipper.
"Wait you found a cure?" asked Mabel.
"No… unfortunately…" said Dipper.
"I like my curse." Said Kitsu.
"And that's fine…" said Dipper, "But I don't like mine…"
"We know." Said Grenda.
"Anyways I found something new with the Journals." He said Dipper, "They have invisible ink… which I realized can't really show you unless I have a black light."
"You need to get a portable black light." Said Candy.
"That I will… but still… I figure we can go through the Journals and figure out somethings do to get my mind off it." Said Dipper.
The three girls look at him and were happy he was being it up.
"Sounds cool." Said Candy.
"All right!" said Sayaka.
"Whatever…" muttered Kitsu.
Dipper nodded.
He had to wait until his other great uncle came back to see if he learned anything to cure the curse… but in the meantime he had ways to get his mind off it.
But only time will tell if it will work… After all he really wanted to get rid of the curse for multiple reasons…
However something else he didn't know was that the government was also suspicious of the Mystery Shack… and they were now being watched…
So who knew what would happen with that…
