Troublemakers
~O~
Roxas crossed his arms, giving Zexion a stern look. The slate haired man had the audacity to smile at him archly in response, knowing exactly why. He looked anything but innocent, and was proud of it. The blond's lips formed a thin line and he tsked softly at his second, doing his best to stay focused on him. Axel had been distracting him all day. It had been worse than when he'd disappeared with Demyx for two days. It was all Zexion's fault. Despite his best efforts, he found his gaze drifting toward the red-head.
Their troublesome duo had been reunited and Demyx had positively taken over Axel, heartlessly leaving Zexion at Roxas' mercy to be punished. Troublemakers, all three'a 'em. Maybe the biggest ones outta his whole lot of outlaws too. He'd watched the kids get up to some mischief already. Roxas had found it amusing, how quickly Demyx had left Zexion for Axel. He was pleased to see Axel so happy, quietly appreciating how close the two had grown. Roxas sighed and scoffed at Zexion, but found himself unable to stay mad. He had actually been helpful to Axel. Even though he preferred to dominate, he found himself enjoying the things his little love had done to him. Sighing again, he complained,
"Stop causin' trouble. Axel's already too sexy for 'is own good. Can't stand it." His second laughed, amused by the situation. He'd never thought he'd see someone who could bring the infamous Roxas to his knees like this. Roxas wasn't one to bend to anyone. Zexion hadn't known that the man was capable of feeling such things. Axel didn't even realize it yet. He was looking forward to seeing what would happen when he did. Roxas sighed in discontentment. Seemed Zexion was enjoying this far too much. Even if it was nice to see this side of him. It had been a while.
"Pleased, huh? I might'a told 'im some tidbits, but most'a it was 'im," he teased back. "You got it bad for 'im, 's kinda sweet," he chuckled. Roxas pouted.
"I know, kid's perfect," he sighed. Axel caught him with that expression on his face and smiled at him softly. Roxas groaned quietly, "See?" watching as Axel pulled away from Demyx and went to him. It was making him melt. He wasn't used to the sweet little things Axel did for him, but he enjoyed them more than anything else.
"Everythin' okay?" he asked gently. Roxas nodded distractedly, weak over Axel's concerned stare. Zexion smiled gently, watching the blond for a moment.
"'s just perfect, run along," he purred to Axel. Roxas gave Zexion another look but his blue eyes fluttered when the red-head kissed his cheek gently before disappearing again. Zexion grinned at Roxas. "Lighten up. I would'a thought ya'd be in a better mood. Maybe even thankin' me." The blond took a deep breath.
"'m 'bout t' give Demyx a few pointers t' express m' thanks," he muttered, setting about sharpening his knives to busy himself. Zexion laughed gently and told him to go ahead. He was too smug for Roxas' liking. He sighed, listening to Demyx and Axel chattering in excitement and smiled a bit. It was cute to watch. He took a deep breath. Perhaps Zexion was onto somethin' with his gloating. Even if it annoyed him. He paused when Axel's tone sobered up, taking notice of Larxene and Marluxia joining them. He hummed softly, wondering which one had upset his red-head but otherwise didn't stop what he was doing, simply observing. They sat a bit too close to Axel and Demyx for his liking, spouting some sort of nonsense about 'friendliness' and making Axel uncomfortable.
"Marluxia." Zexion muttered warningly. Roxas glanced his way. It wasn't often Zexion lost his composure. He hummed, supposing he had his answer. He knew Zexion well enough to know he was telling him without telling him. He had a deep appreciation for how in sync they'd always been. Zexion was invaluable to him. Even now. He wasn't all that surprised at this point. Some were bound to be stupid enough to meddle where they shouldn't. The man scoffed at Zexion.
"What's the matter, two'a ya' afraid t' be so bold in front'a Roxas?" Said blond answered for him. Patronizingly, no less.
"Zexion wouldn' do nothin' t' upset me." His eyes flicked to the pink haired man. "Axel neither." Marluxia's face said otherwise and Roxas leered at him. "Tell me ya' know 'bout m' business more than I do. Go on." The tension that had built up was interrupted by Larxene complaining,
"I told ya' Marly." Roxas turned his attention to her, raising a brow. Larxene sighed with a frown.
"Y'all ain't ever breakin' up. You ain't even gonna share 'im." Roxas tipped his head back chuckling breathlessly.
"Tha's right," he answered softly, smiling sweetly. "Ya' best be tellin' the others t' stop testin' me too." Axel blushed adorably, watching Roxas proceed to ignore them as he went about his business. Larxene looked crestfallen and Marluxia's face was blank in shock. Zexion looked smug, winking at Axel before turning to murmur to Roxas.
"Thanks, I was tryin' t' be secretive earlier 'til someone came 'long too nosy for 'is own good." The blond smiled a bit.
"Figured," he answered, switching to a new blade. Zexion watched the blond in appreciation. He was dangerously perceptive. He'd always admired that about Roxas.
"Roxas ya' can't jus' blindly trust th' two'a 'em like that!" Roxas sighed quietly. Marluxia might have a point in any other situation, but he knew what he was doing. If it were anyone else he wouldn't be so easy-going with trusting them.
"Says you," he muttered. His lips curved up when he stopped complaining. He glanced up at Marluxia. "Mmm I like that 'bout ya. Smart enough to know when t' stop talkin'." Nodding conceedingly, the man lent into Larxene.
"'kay, fine. Ya' win," he sighed. Roxas snorted softly. Lord help him, these two were betting on how long he'd keep Axel. Others too, most likely. He supposed it was his own fault in a way. He wasn't one to keep someone by his side. He glanced at his red-head, his heart fluttering a bit. Lucky them, he was in a particularly good mood today because of Axel, no less. He'd give Zexion some credit too, he supposed.
"Bettin' 'bout me huh?" The pair froze and Roxas smiled at them in amusement but his blue eyes were glittering in mischief. "You best be tellin' th' whole gang all 'bout how ya' lost an' Larxene won."
"Aw c'mon Roxas we were just havin' some fun," Larxene said with a pout. The blond chuckled.
"So'm I," he answered with a wink. "Ya' better be more careful next time, eh?"
Axel laughed despite his best efforts not to. Roxas' lips curved up in pleasure at the sound and he gazed at his red-head once again. Their eyes met and Axel's green eyes were warm. He was entirely too lovely. He could almost imagine how gorgeous he'd be in the next couple of years. He was tall and skinny now but it wouldn't take long for him to build a bit of muscle and strength. He might even grow taller than him. Axel was going to thrive out here, he'd make sure of it. It was something he was looking forward to. He turned his attention back to his sharpening, but his mind stayed on Axel. Larxene and Marluxia settled down and he could hear the kids laughing, back to their easy-going banter. As it should be. One by one, they ventured off until only Axel remained, watching Roxas as the sun began to fade. He smiled at the man.
"Will ya' teach me?" Roxas hummed in affirmation, tilting his head invitingly. Axel watched the motion longingly and went to his side. Roxas gazed into his eyes for a long moment, guiding him through the process with a small smile. The kid was a natural.
"Want one?" Axel shrugged a bit.
"I just wanna spend time with you," he answered. Roxas touched their lips together softly.
"Are ya' happy?" Axel smiled in contentment and nodded. "Good answer," Roxas breathed, kissing him again. The red-head sighed, getting lost for a long moment.
"'course." Roxas grinned.
"Mmm, you 're amazin'." Axel brushed their noses together, murmuring,
"You too, got it memorized?" He kissed Roxas again, humming softly. "By th' way… Demyx was wonderin'… would you be opposed t' me spendin' his birthday with 'im?" The blond pulled back to gaze at him.
"What d' you wanna do, darlin'?" Axel smiled a little. Roxas was pouting and it was adorable.
"I was hopin' to. 'spcially since he did so much for mine," he answered. Roxas nodded.
"'kay." Axel's smile widened.
"Thanks," he breathed. Roxas packed his knives away and pulled Axel close. His little red-head settled on his lap and he pressed his chin to the top of his head, watching the fire and enjoying having him curled up in his lap. Axel relaxed against him and he smiled, gently stroking his fiery hair.
"'course," he murmured finally. Axel wrapped his arms around Roxas' firm body, feeling safe and protected. He listened to steady but fast heartbeats. It made him feel warm and happy. He pressed his lips to Roxas' chest, making him sigh softly. Axel tipped his head up to gaze at the blond. Roxas watched him smile in contentment and hummed softly.
"Can't believe I found you 'gain," he said with a soft sigh. The man smiled at him warmly, gently touching Axel. The red-head settled into him, content to be with him like this. Roxas was simply amazing.
"I thought 'bout findin' ya', now an' then," he answered, "I always did wonder what happened t' ya'." Axel smiled a bit.
"What if I joined th' rangers? Would ya' still want me?" Roxas smiled thoughtfully.
"Prob'ly," he answered with a shrug, "but 'm glad I found ya' first. Was considerin' takin' ya' back then, when ya' helped me." Axel stilled against him. He didn't think he would have preferred that over what he had now, honestly. He'd rather have Roxas like this. He hummed softly.
"'m glad it worked out," he murmured softly. Roxas smiled gently.
"Feelin's mutual," he answered softly.
They stayed like that until the others began to join them for their evening meal. Demyx was absolutely livid that Marluxia had tried to cause trouble with his two favorite people in the whole world. Axel had laughed hysterically as he discussed revenge over dinner.
"Should we tell Roxas 'bout this?" he whispered back. He peeked at the blond to catch him smiling wryly at the two of them. His heart pounded as he gazed at the man.
"There ain't hidin' nothin' from Roxas. B'sides, he ain't gonna care. Look at 'im," Demyx whispered back. Axel smiled at his blond warmly before turning back to his friend. "What'd ya' do t' 'im? I ain't never seen Roxas like this b'fore." The red-head blushed, making Demyx grin. He winked at Axel, teasing him. "I guarantee you ain't gonna do no wrong 'round here." Axel tipped his head back, smiling gently.
"I might," he answered. Giggling, Demyx shook his head.
"Not if he's that happy," he told Axel.
"That ain't what I meant," he purred. They were interrupted by a shriek but Axel's lips just curved up further and he laughed breathlessly as Demyx winked and told him, "Get ready for phase one. Marulxia's gonna be next." His green eyes were sparkling in excitement as he waited for the events that were about to unfold.
It wasn't long before Larxene appeared, dripping wet, absolutely soaked. She stormed up to the circle of outlaws gathered around the fire, seething, "Which one'a'ya' needs t' die?!" she hissed dangerously. Her eyes narrowed at the snickering men. Roxas was biting his lower lip to suppress a grin, knowing exactly who had to be guilty. Demyx's element was water. He watched amusedly as Larxene turned into a savage nymph. The kid was actually keeping calm. He was impressed. Then again, he was the biggest trouble maker around camp. He was absolutely convinced that Axel was probably going to be worse. He was already fearless enough.
"Maybe Marulxia's upset 'bout losin' a bet t' ya'," Axel suggested. Larxene zeroed in on him and Roxas tilted his head at the red-head. Gutsy kid. Provokin' her like that. He bit back a laugh. He liked it. A lot.
"I better not find out it was you," she hissed venemously. Axel smiled crookedly at her.
"Explosions an' fire 're more my style, don'tcha' think?" Her green eyes zeroed in on Demyx.
"You neither," she growled lowly.
"Punish whoever it was however ya' want when ya' figure it out," Roxas murmured to her, "better warm up 'fore ya' get sick first." Larxene turned to him, arms crossed, and stood there as she shivered stubbornly. He patted the spot beside him. When she settled down, he offered her a blanket. He distracted her and glanced at Demyx who looked like he was up to all sorts of no good before catching Axel's eye and winking. His little red-head smiled slyly. He knew that he knew and that he was protecting them. He had to look away from warm green eyes before they set him ablaze. He smiled a bit at Larxene and wrapped an arm around her. She was seething. He didn't know what she'd done to upset Demyx this much but it had to be something big. He wasn't about to interfere. Messing with Larxene took a lot of guts. She could get unstable fast.
"E'vn if 's Axel?" she muttered darkly. Roxas hummed in affirmation but purred,
"It ain't, we went ridin' 'fore this." He knew he was calming her. He'd rather reign in Demyx than let her know. Larxene could be deadly with her knives. "Want me t' find out for ya'?" The blonde frowned and shook her head determinedly.
"'m gonna make 'em pay m'self," she hissed. Roxas nodded in agreement, pacifying her. He glanced around the group. Kids had a good poker face at least. That was a relief at least.
"'kay," he agreed, letting her stay beside him until she'd settled down. He didn't want her to start throwing knives. Especially being that she was the doctor around here. He doubted Olette had warmed up enough to be willing to help in the event of an injury.
Axel waited until the group thinned a bit and Larxene had left before approaching Roxas again. The blond smiled a bit as he gazed at the fire. "Don' forget t' thank me properly," he teased, meeting green eyes. Axel smiled slowly and sat beside him. Roxas' gaze was practically swallowing him up. "Mmm, you 're so gorgeous," he purred. The red-head blushed a bit. Roxas' gaze shifted and he tracked someone behind Axel. "You best start b'havin'," he warned. Demyx smiled at him sheepishly.
"Why'd ya' help me?" he asked quietly. Roxas wrapped an arm around Axel, pulling him into his chest as he kissed his neck.
"'m startin' t' like ya'," he murmured into pale skin, "so shush 'fore Larxene kills ya. None'a these dogs 're gonna keep yer secret'," he warned, glancing up into aquamarine eyes. Demyx nodded once in affirmation, settling in beside Axel. Just being next to the kid had his body humming in arousal. He wouldn't be holdin' back much longer. Axel lent into him, smiling in contentment. Just being next to Roxas had him completely at ease. "Darlin'," he purred in Axel's ear, making the red-head shudder and hum softly, "I wanna devour you," he breathed. His red-head flushed darkly.
"'kay," he answered. His lips quirked up and he gazed at Demyx for a moment. "Thanks for carin' 'bout me," he murmured, tipping his head at him before following Roxas' lead.
His hand was clasped in Roxas' as they trailed through camp together. The blond squeezed gently, pausing to turn back to him when they were alone. Axel was pleasantly surprised when Roxas drew him into his arms, asking, "Wha's that 'bout?" He smiled a bit, winding his arms around the man.
"Demy ain't happy 'bout Marluxia tryin' t' get me an' Zexion in trouble with you." Roxas chuckled a bit and hummed in interest. He let his hand rest on Axel's hip as he pulled him close to press their bodies together. His little beauty gasped in surprise as he took his breath away in a deep, sensual kiss.
"I don' believe nothin' I don' see m'self," he purred to Axel. "An' I know for a fact you don't want no one else."
"That's right," he breathed. Roxas smiled at him endearingly.
"Mmm… good," he answered. "C'mere," he purred, tugging him into the stables. Axel smiled at him amusedly before going to Oathkeeper and stroking her silky mane.
"Thought you wanted me," he teased. His breath caught when hands grasped his hips, squeezing possessively. Breath warmed his ear and all he could think about was Roxas and how incredibly close and intense he was. He purred pleasurably when Axel whimpered in pleasure as he pressed his body against the smaller one in his grasp.
"'m feelin' especially pleased by you," he answered, "thought I'd reward ya' first." Green eyes fluttered as Roxas ground his hips into his ass. "Unless ya' want it now." Axel couldn't think for a long crucial moment.
"I w-want whatever you wanna give me," he all but moaned. He cried out in pleasure when gloved fingers buried in his hair, tipping his head back so that Roxas could devour his mouth.
"Good boy," Roxas purred, "I like obedience." Axel writhed against him as he kissed him again, devouring his mouth and exploring every last bit with his tongue. He nipped Axel's lower lip as he let him go. "Get on 'er," he breathed, Axel nodded, taking a moment to gather himself. When he was mounted on the horse, Roxas took the reigns, leading her to Oblivion. Axel's heart was pounding as they rode side by side at an easy pace in the moonlight.
He realized what was happening as Roxas signaled and Saix and Xion rode out to meet them. The blue haired man tipped his head to Roxas and murmured, "All's good, nothin' t' report." The blond smiled.
"Head on back, we got it t'night." Axel watched them go, humming softly. Roxas usually asked if he wanted to come. Not that he minded. "I check in now an' then without tellin' 'em." He murmured softly. Axel nodded in agreement. It made sense. They made their way into the hoodoos, taking over their fire. Axel warmed up as Roxas took care of the horses. It was cooler now that the sun had set. He hummed softly, noting that Xion and Saix had been outside. "You 're the only one that knows 'bout m' spot. Even Zexion don't." Roxas told him with a soft smile. "We got more spots out here for loot too." Axel smiled at him wryly.
"You tellin' me ya' trust me?" Chuckling a bit the blond murmured,
"Suppose so." Axel stared at him seriously for a long moment.
"Tha's gotta be th' most valuable thing you can give me." Nodding a bit Roxas eyed him for a moment.
"I wanna share it with you," he told him. Axel frowned thoughtfully, not understanding.
"Ya' want me t' share th' spot?" Roxas nodded.
"Loot too." Axel's eyes widened a bit. Roxas tethered up their horses before going to him. He smiled a bit at Axel's expression. Roxas sat beside him. He gazed up at the stars for a moment, looking thoughtful. "I love you," he purred gently. "'m happy t' have you. Makes me want t' give you anythin' ya' want." He glanced at the red-head and rested a hand on Axel's thigh. It made the red-head shiver in anticipation and Roxas squeezed.
"I just want you," he answered honestly. The man smiled at him endearingly and it made his heart pound.
"I know," he purred, leaning forward to brush their lips together. Axel's head was spinning by the time they parted. Roxas was breathtaking in the firelight. It set Axel ablaze, just looking at him. His eyes fluttered and he moaned breathily when Roxas' hand slid forward to touch him intimately. He gazed at his beautiful red-head as he caressed the heated flesh, stroking tantilzingly. Arms wrapped around him and he grinned as Axel pulled him closer. "Mmm, v'ry good," he purred in pleasure and set about pleasing him under the stars.
