A/N: This one is a bit shorter. If you hadn't noticed by now, this story is snippets of Hermione's perspective of their developing relationship. I haven't really written anything this style before, but I had a lot of fun! Thanks for all the love so far 😊

April – Easter

The month between St. Patrick's Day and Easter was the longest I could remember. I had made sure to take the holiday off work because Charlie was coming in for just the one day and would be leaving the following morning.

Being such a major holiday, Charlie knew he had to stay at his parents'. I understood, but that meant we wouldn't have alone time together this trip and it had me craving him even more. I had looked into taking a trip to see him, but getting permission to be on the reserve was difficult, even for me.

I arrived at The Burrow as requested. Charlie and I had agreed that we would keep our relationship between us for now. His family has a tendency to over react about these kinds of things and we didn't feel it was fair to get them involved until we knew exactly where it was going. Besides, we had enough of a challenge with being long distance. We didn't need to add in any well-intentioned meddling from Molly.

That made it all the more difficult when I entered the sitting room to see him sitting so casually talking to Bill about the latest quidditch match. He must have sensed my presence because he was mid-sentence when he looked up meet my gaze. There was nothing more I wanted than to give him a proper hello, but now wasn't the place. Instead, I gave him a small smile and nod and made my way over to Harry and Ginny.

Thankfully Ron hadn't arrived with Padma yet. It took all of my concentration to stay in the current conversation. If they were here trying to drag me into the latest gossip, I don't think I'd have the mental bandwidth to be polite.

Shortly before lunch was to be served, I excused myself to use the bathroom. Just as I was about to reach my destination, strong arms grabbed me from behind and pulled me into another room. It took everything I had not to scream, and I was glad I hadn't when I turned around to find Charlie looking quite pleased with himself.

It only took a moment before he gave me what I had been craving since I walked in. Our mouths danced like they were made for each other and a small moan slipped my lips.

Charlie backed away. "Merlin, I love that sound. But if you keep it up, we're going to get caught. Sorry to drag you in here, I just couldn't take it anymore."

I nodded enthusiastically. "I know what you mean. Are you sure you can't take an extra day and stay at my place?"

"I wish I could, love, but I'm scheduled back at work tomorrow evening." He ran a thumb over my frown. "The family doesn't know I've taken off four days for the Romanian Labour Day next month though. I was hoping you might know of a place I could stay."

My face brightened at his words. "Really? Four whole days?" He nodded. "Can you send me the dates? I have quite the bank of time myself. I'm sure I can get them off."

It was Charlie's turn to light up. "Four whole days with just us, huh? Think we can find something to do with ourselves?"

He wasn't overly suggestive, but my body was screaming for his touch. Our letters had gradually been becoming more personal. While we hadn't had any formal dates, we essentially had our first date on New Year's Eve which was almost four months ago. My body was wound tighter than an antique clock and I knew the only thing that would help was Charlie.

"I have no doubt it will be worth your trip." My voice was breathy and needy conveying just how much I wished we could keep going. "We should get back down there before someone notices."

He hesitated, but agreed after one more kiss. "I'll try to sit by you. And promise me you won't leave without a proper goodbye."

I promised and we exited the room one at a time.

We did end up sitting next to each other and I was glad for the contact. It gave me an excuse to engage him in conversation and he discreetly held my hand under the table through most of the meal.

While I had moments that I wished we had decided not to hide our relationship, I was happy that we were spending the holiday together and with our family minus any interrogations.

When I left that night, I followed through with my promise, happy to know our next encounter wouldn't need to be hidden.
