The Peters first day at Hogwarts was interesting. To their surprise they had everything they needed upon arriving at their common rooms. They had spare robes, school supplies and even magic wands. What was most surprising however was that all of them had the ability to use magic. They decided not to question why, but figured it was because Peter-One came from a universe where anyone could learn magic. They were just glad they still had their spider powers. Unfortunately, Hogwarts didn't have the chemicals necessary for Peter-One and Three to create web fluid. They just hoped they could survive without it. Sadly Peter-One made it very clear that there were many dangers ahead, so the sooner they could figure out how to get home the better.
After their first day of classes, they made their way down to the lake outside the school so they could talk in private.
"Well, how was your first day of school?" asked Peter-Two. "Wow, it's been ages since I asked that."
"Actually, pretty good. Learning about magic has been a fascinating experience. Also, I'm kinda glad I was sorted into the house of intellectuals. I've been having many great conversations with the other Ravenclaws."
"Mine was also pretty good. I've often wondered what it would be like to go to Hogwarts, now I know," said Peter-Three.
"I saw the title character. Had classes with him all day," said Peter-Two.
"Well, you are in the same house," said Peter-Three.
"Which reminds me, why were we sorted into different houses?" asked Peter-One. "We're the same person, by that logic we all should've been sorted into the same house."
"It's not that surprising. We may be the same person, but we're different people," said Peter-Three.
"What do you mean?" asked Peter-One.
"Not only are we from different universes, but we also look different and all of us have different personalities," said Peter-Three.
"I've been thinking about that as well. Even before we got sorted. I also believed that we'd be sorted into the same houses, but I wondered if our different histories and lives would have an effect on our sorting," said Peter-Two.
"Do you have an explanation about why we were sorted as we were?" asked Peter-One.
"Well, you said that you often worked in a team of superheroes. Correct?" asked Peter-Three.
"Yeah," said Peter-One.
"Would you say you were loyal and dedicated to that team and did you work really hard to be a team player?" asked Peter-Three.
"Yeah, I always tried to do my part for the team. I tried to do even more if I could," said Peter-One.
"Well, based on what you've told me about the Hogwarts houses it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that you were sorted into Hufflepuff," said Peter-Three.
"That still doesn't explain why you guys were sorted into different houses. We're all super smart, so I figured we'd all just be put in Ravenclaw," said Peter-One.
"You say Ravenclaw is for the smart people, but there's a girl in Gryffindor who raised her hand more than anyone I've ever seen. And I should know I use to be the student who always raised their hand in class," said Peter-Two.
"Oh yeah that's Hermione Granger. Be nice to her she becomes one of Harry's closest friends. Not to mention she's really good at magic, so trust me you should stay on her good side," said Peter-One.
"Noted," said Peter-Two.
"As for why we were sorted into different houses I think I have an explanation. Peter-Two, you've basically always had to fight on your own correct?" asked Peter-Three.
"Well not always, but yeah. Often my fights have been just me," said Peter-Two.
"And would you say that the reason you fight crime is solely because it's the right thing to do?" asked Peter-Three.
"Of course. I do what I do because I've been told that with great power, comes great responsibility. And it's my responsibility to protect the city of New York," said Peter-Two.
"That sounds pretty brave and daring to me. A true Gryffindor," said Peter-Three. "As for myself. I'd say I got sorted into Ravenclaw, because I occasionally let my curiosity get the better of me. For example, I got my powers because I was trying to learn more about my parents. I accidently helped create the lizard and I rely more on scientific knowledge to win many of my fights. That's why I think I was sorted into Ravenclaw, because a lot of what I do is in the pursuit of knowledge. Heck my pursuit of knowledge is how we ended up in this place."
"That just reminded me. You told us getting here was you're doing. What did you do?" asked Peter-Two.
Peter-Three explained how after his adventure in Peter-One's universe, he wanted to see if he could find more versions of himself. He then went on to explain about the machine he'd built and how he'd used his own DNA in the hopes of travelling to a universe with an alternative version of himself.
"But I think I miscalculated," said Peter-Three. "In the end I didn't create a machine that would let me travel to a world with another me, but one that dragged me and people who shared my exact genetic structure into another universe."
"Do you think there's another Peter here?" asked Peter-Two.
"That's just it. I don't know," said Peter-Three.
"Well, if there is he wasn't mentioned in any of the books. And I would know. I've read them numerous times," said Peter-One.
"Either way I don't think we should worry about if there's another Peter Parker here. I think our focus should be on returning to our universes," said Peter-Two. "Do you think you can recreate the calculations you used to create the machine?"
"I think so, but I don't know what good it'll do us. We look like we've gone back to medieval times," said Peter-Three.
"Not only that. Modern technology won't work in a place like Hogwarts due to the magic barriers around the castle," said Peter-One.
"That complicates things," said Peter-Two.
"Well, maybe potions could help us. I've read it's a science. Maybe we could figure out some potion that can create portals back to our universes," said Peter-Three.
"Unfortunately, it's a new science to us and it'll probably take us till our final year before we're good enough to invent such a potion," said Peter-Two.
"Well then we better get comfortable, I have a feeling were going to be here for a while," said Peter-One.
"I just hope we can send ourselves back to when we left. I was on a date when I got pulled through," said Peter-Two.
"Oh, sorry about that," said Peter-Three.
Peter-Three pulled out his quill and some parchment and wrote up the formula he had used to create his device. They just hoped they could use potions to make a substitute portal to get them home. They also started theorising about how they could make web fluid using potion ingredients. Peter-One claimed there were a lot of dangers ahead, so they knew it was better to be prepared. Thankfully, their web-shooters had been transferred across universes with them. The major problem was getting the ingredients. Peter-One said that the potions teacher Professor Snape was very strict and kept a close eye on both the potion ingredients and the students. They were mid-way through determining substitute ingredients when Peter-Three's Spidersense went off. His arm shot to the side of him and caught a rock that was flying towards him. The three Peters turned and saw they were being approached by three first year Slytherins. They included the blond boy with a pointed face they saw at the sorting ceremony and two much bigger boys that looked like his bodyguards.
"Who are these clowns?" asked Peter-Two.
"The small boy's called Malfoy and the bigger guys are Crabbe and Goyal. They're bad kids, very bad kids," said Peter-One.
"Didn't you say Slytherins were very proud about their magical abilities?" asked Peter-Three.
"Yeah, why?" asked Peter-One.
"I'm amazed they used something so primitive like throwing a rock at us. Wouldn't they prefer to cast a spell on us or something?" asked Peter-Three.
"Normally yes, but they're only first years so probably don't know a lot of magic. Plus, the big guys are pretty dumb," said Peter-One.
"That doesn't surprise me. I went to high school with people like that. I humiliated the biggest one in my senior year," said Peter-Two.
"Yeah, well trust me you don't want to pick a fight with these guys. Not that I'm not confident we couldn't take them, but they're pretty tight with Professor Snape and he's really supportive of the Slytherin students, even the really bad ones," said Peter-One
The three Peters stood up as the three Slytherin boys closed in on them.
"So, are the three people who share the same name unable to make friends with anyone else?" asked Malfoy smugly.
"Look buddy we don't want any trouble," said Peter-Two calmly. "We just came here to learn as much as we could."
"Really, you didn't seem really interested in potions today. You seemed a bit distracted. Also very unwilling to ask questions," claimed Malfoy.
Peter-Two had had Potions class earlier that day with the Gryffindor's and Slytherin's.
"It's a new subject for me. I was trying to take in as much as I could and take as many notes as I could. I didn't have time to ask questions," stated Peter-Two.
"Potions is new to you? What are you a Mud blood?" asked Malfoy sounding disgusted.
That term had no meaning to Peter-Two. He turned to Peter-One in the hopes he could explain what that meant.
"It means you're a wizard, but you were born to non-magic parents," said Peter-One. "The preferred term is Muggle Born."
"Oh, I see. Um, yeah, I'm a muggle born both my parents had zero magical ability," said Peter-Two.
Both Peter-One and Three thought it might just be easier to all say they were Muggle Born, because not only was magic new to them, but none of their parents back home had any special abilities. Well, none that they knew of anyway.
"Well, I'm a muggle born too. I was very surprised when I received my letter saying I'd been accepted into Hogwarts," claimed Peter-Three.
"Same here, I had no idea what Hogwarts was until I received my letter," claimed Peter-One.
"If that's the case none of you should be here in the first place," said Malfoy. "This is a school for witchcraft and wizardry, not filthy Mud Bloods."
The three Peters were starting to lose their patients with Malfoy.
"What makes you any better than us?" asked Peter-Two.
"I come from a noble pure-blooded family. No one in my family ever married a filthy muggle and we've been in Slytherin for centuries. There are few wizard families as great as mine," claimed Malfoy.
"Well like we said, we don't want any trouble, so we'll be leaving now," said Peter-One, gesturing the other two to leave.
The three Peters turned to leave, but Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyal blocked their path back to the castle.
"I don't think so," said Malfoy. "You say you don't want any trouble, but you caused trouble the moment you set foot on the grounds."
The three Peters were at a loss of what to do. Beating these three in a fight would be easy given their superstrength and spider like reflexes, but they knew that was the wrong thing to do. Despite being wizards Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyal had little to no defence training. Not only that, but the Peters also had to remember that while they had been de aged to eleven-year old's, they were still technically adults and so had a lot of ethical qualms about fighting children.
They looked at each other and without speaking they knew they couldn't and wouldn't fight back. Thankfully someone arrived before anything could happen.
"What's going on here?" asked Professor McGonagall.
Peter-One had a feeling this was the perfect time to de-escalate the situation.
"Nothing Professor. Just some friendly banter between classmates," said Peter-One.
"Yeah, just some friendly banter," said Malfoy, who knew it was unwise to anger Professor McGonagall. Another reason he didn't want to risk angering her was because she was head of Gryffindor and one of the Peters was in Gryffindor. "See you guys later."
Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyal took off back to the castle. The Peters had a feeling this was not the last they had seen of them and had a feeling they'd be having a few more run ins with them during their time at Hogwarts.
"You three did well to not engage. Most muggle born wizards would be highly offended by being called Mud Bloods," said Professor McGonagall.
"Well, we're not here to cause trouble. We're just here to learn," said Peter-One.
"That's a good attitude Mr Parker and for not escalating the situation I'm awarding five points to each of you," declared Professor McGonagall. "Enjoy the rest of your day I look forward to seeing all of you in my class."
After this altercation the Peters decided to head back to the castle. Despite being trapped in an unfamiliar universe, all in all the three Peters felt they had had a decent day. Their classes had been both fun and interesting and they had even managed to gain some house points for their respective houses. They spent the rest of their afternoon in the library trying to look up different potion ingredients they could use as substitutes for their web fluid. While they had managed to find a few good substitutes, they had been unable to fully develop the web fluid by the end of the day. They weren't disheartened however, as they knew they had plenty of time to perfect it.
Later that evening, Peter-Two was sitting by himself in the Gryffindor Common Room while doing the assigned homework when he was approached by two other first year boys.
"You're one of the Parkers, right?" asked one of the boys.
Peter-Two looked up. One of the boys was tall, with big hands, red hair and freckles. The other was a bespectacled boy with black hair, almond shaped green eyes and a small lightning bolt scar on his forehead. Peter-Two recognised the black-haired boy has Harry Potter, but he didn't know who the other boy was.
"Um, yeah, but you can call me Peter-Two. That's what they call me when all three of us are together," said Peter-Two shaking their hands. "You're Harry Potter, right?"
"Yep, that's right," said Harry.
"And you are?" asked Peter looking at the other boy.
"I'm Ron Weasley."
"Nice to meet you," said Peter-Two.
"Anyway, we heard you and the other Peters had a run in with Malfoy and his cronies Crabbe and Goyal. You alright?" asked Ron.
"Yeah, Professor McGonagall intervened before anything could happen," stated Peter-Two.
"Either way we had our own run in with them on the train. So if they ever bother you guys again, just let us know, we'd be happy to help," said Harry.
"Thanks, I really appreciate that," said Peter-Two.
"See you around Peter," said Ron.
Peter-Two was starting to see why this series was so popular in Peter-One's universe. Despite only having just met Harry and Ron, Peter-Two could already tell they were great people who would do anything to help their friends.
Thanks for reading. Please review, I really appreciate feedback.
