Chapter 3: Day at the Mall
NEXT DAY
"They said to meet here yet no one showed up." Muttered the blonde who was making his way up the steps of the shrine, towards it while being dressed in casual clothing that consisted of dark blue pants and a dark-blue long-sleeve shirt with the sleeves held up to his elbow by small bands. Around his neck, he wore an emerald crystal-made necklace.
(I feel ridiculous, release me from this confine at once, vessel!)
Demanded Sō'unga who was inside a guitar case that was strapped to Naruto's back to not draw attention towards it. More so the fact to keep up appearances it was literally under an actual guitar, making it cramped in it.
"Ya' know, for a legendary sword you complain a lot."
(You dare mock me, half-breed?!)
That demand merely caused him to frown as he recalled the sword's words, yesterday.
(((((Boy, your parents had withheld your legacy. I can without a doubt tell you you are a Hanyō, a half-breed just like those girls from the past.)))))
A visible frown forms on his face upon recalling those words before he was stopped when hearing fast approaching footsteps and looks up to find one smiling Moroha making her way down towards him, her clothing consisting of casual such as jeans, a red-shirt, and a black jacket over it.
"Hey, Whiskers!" The girl stops in front of him and does a spin which displays a dragon logo on her jacket. "Isn't this jacket badass; turns out Towa had this hanging in her room, tho I wouldn't say it's her style!" Yet her question was met with an annoyed expression that confused her.
"What? What's with that look you have?"
"Can you stop calling me whiskers."
This surprised her yet she puts on a thoughtful expression and smiles brightly at him.
"Nope!" Her response gave way to a frown. "Besides, I like calling ya' Whiskers, it just fits." With that answer given, he merely sighs before the two walked together back down to see if the other two girls arrived, and sure enough, they did. Moroha was smiling while glancing at the blushing blonde who was staring at one nervous Towa, not making eye contact with the blond upon seeing his gaze for she wore civilian clothing, ordinary girl clothing to be exact which was a cream-colored off-shoulder top, a graphite long-sleeve shirt partnered with a matching velvet cloth necklace, jeans, and sandals. Next to her also stood Setsuna who was wearing a light-blue dress and under it was a white short-sleeved shirt as well as she also wore sandals.
"Now that we're all here," Moroha began while pointing towards the large buildings. "LET'S EXPLORE!" Without even waiting she runs off much to the annoyance of the three who didn't bother to run after her as they start walking.
"OUR FIRST STOP!" Shouted the girl who stood in front of a massive building before her, the mall with a big smile on her face unlike the three who were behind her, two being more exhausted than the other.
"She was almost hit by a car."
"Three times."
"Is it not obvious to look both ways before crossing?"
As Naruto, Towa, and Setsuna mauled over their thoughts they watched the girl turn to look over towards them yet stops smiling upon seeing their expressions.
"Hey, what's the problem? I know those assholes almost hit me and all but look I'm fine!" She pats herself with the smile returning. "No nee—ow!" Immediately Moroha grabbed her head with tears in her eyes, being glared at by Setsuna.
"What was that for?!"
"You know why, loudmouth."
As the two were arguing, Naruto and Towa stood on the sidelines watching.
"Was it a good idea to bring them to the mall..." Naruto glances at Towa. "Especially Moroha?" His question gained a weak smile from his friend.
"Let's just keep a 'closer' eye on her."
"I rather buy a safety harness."
That idea was a good one yet Towa just sweat drops as she tried imagining Moroha struggling against a child safety cord more so the fact it would gain a lot of stares.
"On second thought," Towa looked haunted by the idea and reaction it would gain. "I don't think that would be a good idea." A shrug was given as the two moved towards Moroha and Setsuna who reached the end of their little agreement, bitching turning to face the two.
"Ready?"
"You betcha!" Moroha smiles in excitement while Setsuna just stared at her in annoyance before the four made their way into the building, being introduced to what was a massive open area, littered with hundreds walking around while many open stores ran throughout the building. The group walked towards an escalator and immediately Moroha and Setsuna stopped to stare, in turn gaining their attention at the edge of it.
"Something wrong?"
"What is that?" Moroha raised a finger. "Why is it moving?" Her question lingers in the air, causing Towa to smile awkwardly with Naruto understanding.
"It's called an escalator," Towa began "It's a way for people to go down the stairs much faster plus it's helpful to the elderly." Yet even with the explanation, Setsuna didn't seem much convincing, unlike Moroha who just looked amazed, and immediately she starts running towards it before being grabbed by the jacket.
"Don't, your gonna get us kicked out!" This seemed to confuse the girl before he points and the four looks to see a security guard eyeing them.
"Who's he?"
"The guy the works for security so no running."
In the end, the four stood on the escalator as it made its way down with Moroha just standing there in annoyance, when she looked at the security guard with annoyance she froze to see he was staring at her suspiciously with a piercing gaze.
"W-Why's he staring at me?!"
"He smells fear."
"Wait, what?!"
Moroha starts to appear to panic before Towa looks at him, not so much as amused as him.
"Naruto, don't mess with her." Her words got him to smile before he looks back at the confused girl.
"He does that when troublemakers catch his gaze." His words got a confused and annoyed expression from the girl as they made their way to the bottom where they stepped off.
"I'm not a troublemaker."
"You were almost hit by a car, three times."
She tried to argue but stops and sweats before smiling sheepishly while the three just sigh at the girl as the four continue walking.
"So, uh..." Towa began which gained his attention. "Where to first?" Her question gained the immediate response of Moroha who turns towards them.
"I smell something good!" Was her response. "Let's get something to eat!" This surprised them which Setsuna spoke up.
"We just arrived, if you want to eat then go by yourself." This got a smile as she turns to leave before being abruptly grabbed by the back of her jacket.
"Knowing you, you would most likely try to rob them." This gained a hurt expression from her.
"What do you take me for?"
"Thief."
"Lawbreaker."
The blank expression, response of Setsuna and Naruto caused Moroha to once again feel like she was being put down while Towa just smiles uncomfortably at this.
"We could get a small bite." Towa offered much to Moroha's happiness as she hugs the girl all of a sudden.
"Thanks, Towa!" Despite how grateful she was it could only match the despair of Naruto who realized he will be paying for the food.
"Man, I'm stuffed," Moroha spoke happily with a pat on her stomach. "We never had this kind of food in our time!" Despite how happily she spoke, the blonde was staring at his froggy wallet in despair.
"To think she could eat that much..." Muttered the blonde, never before witnessing another that could eat more than him while having a smaller body frame, becoming inconceivable basically.
"I'll pay you back half the amount when we get back." Yet that offer was denied by the blonde who shook his head.
"Don't bother, we'll be leaving anyway so I don't have to worry about money—" He stops just as Towa and Moroha did, it was then they realized it, too.
"Where's Setsuna?" It was with that simple question the three had turned around to see Setsuna standing outside of a store, with a complicated expression. Moroha quickly makes her way towards the girl where she wraps and around her, gaining her attention and annoyance.
"Hey Setsu, something catches your eye?" This caused her to look away while the others approach her.
"Setsuna—" Towa stops as her eyes widen in surprise which Naruto took notice of and moves a little closer to the girls to see inside the store which his eyes shot open for it was a swimsuit and lingerie store, the three turned to look at Setsuna who's face began to redden as she abruptly walked past them.
"Those clothing are just undignified." She muttered which the three just stare at her before Towa smiles a little awkwardly with Naruto raising an eyebrow before a small blush forms and eyes widening, looking away as he wondered about Towa wearing a swimsuit or lingerie yet Moroha just smiles as the wheels in her head turned, taking note of this store to visit again before hurrying after the others and that's when she saw it.
"Whoa!" Moroha's smile increases, gaining their attention to see her pointing at something. "What is that?!" The demand was loud, gaining many stares much to Towa's embarrassment while Naruto looks up to see the big screen playing a trailer from Godzilla Vs. Kong and with a single look he could see the girl had stars in her eyes as she watched the trailer, unlike Setsuna who tilted her head in wonder, what she was seeing and the size of the monster to exist in the world. The twin's eyes narrow while the hothead smiles.
"Where can I fight that monster?!"
"To think such a thing exists."
The two just stare at them as the two looks at each other and laugh, confusing them both with Naruto being the one to speak.
"It's not real, it's fake." This seemed to confuse them more as they looked at what seemed to be a magical screen than back at them.
"I doubt that." The two spoke simultaneously, causing them to share a look with Naruto wondering how to explain before Towa spoke up.
"Think of it as another one of this Era's advancements. It's what we call a mo—uh..." Towa stops as her eyes widen as she too didn't know how to explain what a movie was before Naruto saw a poster at the mall's theaters, showing Godzilla was playing.
"How about instead of explaining we just watch it?" He points towards the theater, gaining the town's attention as she smiles and looks at him with a nod before them.
"Let's watch a movie!" Despite appearing enthusiastic, Setsuna didn't seem all too trusting, unlike Moroha who liked to see her excited expression upon her face.
"Now that's what I'm talking about! I may not know what this 'movie' thing is but you can count me in!" Setsuna just turns away.
"I'll pass." This seemed to surprise them with Towa looking bothered.
"Cmon Setsuna, I know you'll enjoy it. It's not like anything you've seen back in your Era." Yet even so she wasn't that convinced much to the annoyance of Setsuna.
"You are unbelievable, just remove that stick up your ass already." She bluntly says much to the surprise of Naruto, the shock of Towa, and Setsuna was taken aback by the comment before glaring at Moroha.
"Well excuse me, I have better things to do rather than watch this so-called 'Movie'." This caused the two to glare at each other before Towa got between them.
"Cmon guys, no fighting." She turns her attention towards her sister. "Just try watching it Setsuna, thirty minutes. If you don't like it you can just leave." Yet, even so, Setsuna merely frowns with her gaze drifting over towards Naruto who looks 'just try it' which she, in the end, sighs.
"Fine." That single reply seemed to have brightened Towa's mood considerably which in turn got a smile from Naruto to seeing her happy.
"C'mon Fushiguro, can't you help carry these?" As he heard that voice, Naruto just blinks in surprise a little while the three girls start making their way to the theaters to see what time the movie plays.
"No thanks, I didn't buy anything." Naruto just turns to see three individuals passing by him, the males unknowist being a year older than him while the female by two. They were walking past him yet one of them had stopped for a similar reason, a feeling that caused him to turn with the two staring at each other.
"Yo, Itadori what's the hold-up?"
"Naruto, you coming?"
As the two sides called their names, the two just stared at each other for a few more seconds before they start turning away at the same time and back towards their friends.
"Weird." Both thought at the same time. "What was that feeling just now?" In the end, they pushed those thoughts aside yet among those two, another voice thought.
(This feeling.)
(This feeling.)
"That. Was. Amazing!" Moroha declared with her big smile glued to her face. "I've never seen such a thing in my life!" Her shouting drew attention from others as she turns to look at them.
"This Era is amazing, can we watch another?!" Towa smiles happily at hearing that while Naruto smirks before glancing at Setsuna.
"What you think of it?"
"It was interesting at best."
Her tone and expression were the same, not appearing to be all too impressed by what she had witnessed, unlike Moroha who was overjoyed. This seemed to disappoint Towa, unlike the blonde who just stared at Setsuna.
"You're not a good liar." This took her off guard before turning to look at him.
"Why would you think that?"
"Dunno." A shrug was given. "Always could tell when someone is lying and all. May not show it, but I can tell you enjoyed the visuals." His words caused her to be the center of the attention for the three who stare at her while she avoids their gaze, becoming a little embarrassed before turning away.
"I said it was interesting, so drop it."
Awwww, is someone embarrassed?"
At this point, Moroha had an arm around Setsuna who was very annoyed before his gaze rests on Naruto and Towa before her gaze turns to the skylight to see the sun high in the air and sighs knowing she'll have to put up with this for an awhile.
"(Sigh) Was the only sound that escaped from Naruto's lips after a full day at the mall with the other three, plopping down on the couch while the other three were unpacking what they bought.
(Such a waste of time.)
The voice gained his attention towards So'unga who was out of the guitar case and laying near him.
(What we could have been doing all this time is training to master my power, despite being a half-breed you still have potential.)
Naruto just ignored the sword and rolls to the other side to not face it but introduced to another sight, Setsuna in her usual garb.
"I don't understand why I had to wear such clothing?" Muttered the younger sister of Towa, her gaze meeting Naruto's which he sat up.
"It being sundown, thought you would have faced off with your sis al—" He was cut off by her blade being pointed at him.
"Enough talk." Her gaze hardens. "I'm letting Moroha decide if Towa is ready but you, we will be fighting now." Her stern gaze met his own before he glances back at So'unga before getting up and grabbing the hilt, eyes narrowing as he stared at it before recalling Towa, and immediately he turns to her.
"Let's go to the shrine." A nod of agreement from Setsuna was given as the two proceeded to walk out the door with one destination in mind.
Naruto and Setsuna stood across from each other, preparing as the blonde had removed the scabbard while strong at her.
(She will not be an easy opponent at your level but knowing the way of the sword will—)
"I…never swung a sword, before….."
(Wait…WHAT?!)
"Enough talk!" She grips her Naginata, the blade directed at Naruto. "Your test begins, now!" Not giving them a word out she slashed the air.
"Scourge of Swallows!" With the name came the attack, a barrage of green yōki in the form of swallows head towards the blonde who went wide-eyed and jumps out of the way with a roll.
(It's not that difficult to deflect them.)
By the time he stood up, he noticed Setsuna was no longer in front of him, but instead above. She was high up in the air, falling towards him as she swung full force with the blonde ducking and rolling right out of the way of her blade that slashes into the, bringing up the first from the strike she made.
"Stop dodging!" She immediately dashes for him with their blades connecting with the other with sparks flying as the two were struggling before Naruto grits his teeth as a right kick came slamming into his left side, causing him to grunt before he swung the blade that she easily dodged and slams her staff into his stomach which forced him to his knees, falling to one knee with Setsuna holding him there before she jumps back while spinning her weapon.
"Cyclone Burst!" With the strong, he found himself being launched into the air where he slams into a nearby tree and slides down it with a painful grunt. He just looks up to find Setsuna staring down at him with the blade at his throat.
"Fight me seriously, if you cannot even manage that what makes you even think you can protect Towa," His gaze hardens. "let alone yourself?" As her words cut into him, his gaze moves onto the sword.
"Easy for you to say, I'm stuck using a weapon I've never used before." This seemed to have caught her by surprise.
"Are you seriously telling me you've never wielded a blade?" She looked visibly surprised and somewhat disappointed before turning her back to him, surprising her opponent.
"Forget this, if you can't even wield a blade there isn't a point to test you." Her words caused his eyes to widen before he grits his teeth.
(If you cannot wield a blade then tell me what you can wield.)
His eyes merely widen at the question and it was at that point, Setsuna came to a halt as a light appeared behind her, lighting up the park which she turns fast to see the wide-eyed Naruto staring at it, at Sō'unga who's light was dimming down to reveal…a three-section staff connected by a single ring in between the joints of the weapon. On one end, bore the jewel with a short blade above it while the other end didn't have the jewel but a longer blade.
"You can….."
(I was never a sword originally, so I have the power to transform myself, however…)
Sō'unga silences himself as he saw the blonde smiling and looking at Setsuna who didn't know what to make of the weapon since none before in her time had used such a weapon.
"Are you mocking me with that contraption?"
"See for yourself."
With that short conversation finished, Setsuna made the first move and dashed for Naruto, thrusting the blade and making sure it wasn't aimed at a vital area until sparks flew in the air, followed by wide-eyes as she found her weapon pointed towards the sky by the one before her, having defected her blade. It was at this moment her eyes widen in pain, finding one end of the staff being slammed into the side that sent her rolling to one side before she got back on her feet to see Naruto charging yet faster than she saw him move before.
"Scourge of Swa—" Setsuna had begun to say mid-motion with her weapon being swung until the blade was hit by the staff and points towards the ground, momentarily taking her aback at the fact she didn't account the staff was long and had the reach if held by the far end. In the end, she snapped out of it and barely was able to deflect the next strike, the one after that, and the one after that due to the multiple ways he swung that staff or held it like two short blades.
"To think such a weapon can be used like this…it doesn't help that blade seems to have altered his body in a way to benefit—" Setsuna was silenced as the blonde fell past her, turning to see he falls to the ground with wide-eyes as the weapon, Sō'unga now transformed back into a sword.
(It seems that is your current limit.)
While he heard that voice, the blonde was shocked and starts to lift himself now feeling exhausted before a blade was found at his neck, looking up he was met with Setsuna's gaze.
"I see, so you must've gone over your limit just now…." She pulls the weapon away. "That's enough training, I've seen what you can do." Her gaze meets Naruto's once again.
"You're not ready…." Her words resulted in him looking down until she continued. "however, that being said, until we do go back I suggest you train." Her words took him by surprise yet he didn't argue against them as he grabs the hilt of the sword and stood up.
"Can we still train?" This question seemed to have surprised her yet she just looks away.
"I suppose." Her words got a grateful smile from Naruto who now has a training partner and in the end, the two made their way back, side-by-side.
It was the middle of the night, past 2:00 AM. For someone who should have been asleep stood Setsuna who was staring out the window in silence, that was until she heard movement, turning from where she stood came to Naruto walking towards her.
"Shouldn't you be sleeping?" Her question was met with the blond stopping next to her with his left hand scratching the back of his head.
"About that..." A frown forms. "Because my body was reanimated, it doesn't exactly need sleep." This news caused her eyes to widen a little as she watched him look quite annoyed out the window.
"Don't tell Towa, rather not her get fixated on my inability to sleep as well." At this point she frowns, recalling her words.
"I don't understand her problem," Setsuna said, a look of confusion on her face. "Ever since I can remember, this is how it's always been for me. I don't know why she's so focused on that but it's never been an issue." Her gaze searches for a certain 'light' in the distance.
"If I wait, the sun will eventually rise." As he took her words in, minuted went by in awkward silence until Naruto glances at her which she picked up on.
"Do you have something to say?"
"Doesn't it get lonely?"
This question had caused her eyes to momentarily widen before they return to normal, her gaze turning to look at the blonde.
"You've done this every night, by yourself and staring at the sky." He looked a little bothered. "If it were me, I would find it pretty shitty." His words merely got caused her to look back out.
"You get used to it, I've done this for years."
"True." He moves his arms behind his head. "So, how do you pass the time until sunrise?" His question got an immediate answer as if she's practiced it many times.
"Mostly just patrols or staring at the—" She stops upon realizing something and glances at him.
"You have a way with getting people to talk to you, don't you?"
"Yup." A smile takes form on his face. "Was a big help when I met Towa." Yet that's response just got an unimpressed look from her.
"Hey don't give me that look, your gonna be having more chats with me so you gotta get used to it." This seemed to surprise her before realizing, he will be spending more time with her when night comes around.
"Since I can no longer sleep, you got someone to talk to till the sun rises." In response she just turns away, annoying the blonde who didn't see the faintest of smiles at the fact night will not be so lonely anymore. It was during this, the two hadn't noticed the fact Mei had woken up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, only to be greeted at the sight of what she deemed as her future brother-in-law chatting it up with her Sister's sister.
"So, how about telling me your story?" His question immediately gained her gaze that stared at him suspiciously.
"And why would I do that?"
"So I can tell Towa instead of you needing to."
It was by hearing that she contemplated but in the end shook her head.
"It doesn't matter," Her gaze fell away. "as well as why would I tell a stranger about my past?"
"But weren't we hanging out all day?" Despite that defense, it was immediately shot down.
"One day doesn't automatically count as having known each other for years to know about my past." Her response merely got a grumbled reply.
ONE WEEK LATER
Back at the Higurashi Residence sat on a chair was Naruto who was strong at his phone while in the same room, playing the violin was Setsuna who wore a blue dress next to Towa's adopted mother, Moe.
[Dad: Naruto, we need to talk.]
[Mom: We're worried about you.]
These two messages were among the newest ones he received from his parents, his frown not going away as he kept thinking of Sō'unga's words and it was by then he realized the music had finally stopped, gaining his attention.
"Just amazing, in only a few hours you mastered the instrument beautifully!" Her praise gained a slight blush as she looked away to be met with Naruto's smirk, much to her embarrassment yet shoots him a glare.
"It's thanks to the skill of the teacher—" Immediately the mother gets a little closer, increasing her embarrassment at having never been doted on.
"Your a prodigy that comes once every one-hundred years-no, more like once in five-hundred years!" Naruto just wonders how far back the girls came from.
"You know, you can probably become a worldwide violinist like me!" The simple praise earned acute reaction from the girl who just wonders yet brought back to reality at Naruto watching this amusing scene until in came Towa sis, Mei.
"Moroha wanted me to come and get you two." This gained a little confusion with the mother asking what it could be.
"She found out a way for you guys to go back home." That answer immediately got a reaction as they made their way to the main room to find one Moroha placing a large backpack on the floor in front of them while Mei made her way to her mom, leaving the three by themselves.
"There we go!" Moroha pats her back at the hard work. "Went back to that mall, wanted to get a few things that caught my eye. Also, what's with the fancy getup, Setsuna? You guys going on a date?" She said the last part in a teasing tone yet Setsuna raises a fist, about to unleash a pounding upside her head.
"Enough, did you find a means to get back?" A quick nod was given by the smiling girl who happily replied.
"You bet I did, remember the first time that we came through that rainbow corridor that we felt our energy being stolen? A Demon called Roothead was the cause." This seemed to confuse the girl, unlike Naruto who had not a clue what they were referring to.
"The plant demon?"
"Turns out it got tangled with the roots of the Tree of Ages so it created a time-traveling doorway." This information seemed to amaze Setsuna.
"Oh, you did your research."
"Nope, I just asked it, eh eh. It was sitting, looking bored so I asked it a question, and wouldn't shut up. Anyway, whenever we need to go back to the other world we can get there by negotiating with dusty ol' Roothead." Naruto places a hand on his chin as he wonders it is a good way to get on its good side so they can keep returning to this timeline.
"I see, so it's worth a shot, but..." She glanced at the backpack. "What's the bag for?" Moroha down to open it.
"I'm glad you asked!" She flips open the patch. "Just a few things I thought would be useful." She takes out a handful of boxes with one of them catching Naruto's eyes as a blush appears on his face which was noticed by Setsuna who follow his gaze towards a box that appeared to have a design of purple square's on it which she noticed too and holds it up.
"Ah this box, caught my eye yet that owner wouldn't let me have it." She smiles with Naruto beginning to sweat.
"So you stole it."
"Yuuuu—" She was cut off by the teen swiping it from her hand.
"Hey, what's the big idea?!" Moroha reaches out and grabs the box. "I found it first, so it's mine!"
"You don't even know what it is!"
"Then tell me so I can use it the right way!"
Immediately that got the opposite effect, both girls seeing how the blonde was turning red-faced again.
"What's the shouting for?" Came the voice of Sōta who entered the room with Towa, both back from the grocery store.
"Whiskers trying to take this box from me and won't tell me what it's for!" She quickly pulls it out of his hands and shows Sōta and Towa the box who both froze as they stare at the obvious Box of Condoms.
"Can you guys tell me—HEY!" Sōta had quickly pulled the box out of the girl's hands while his daughter could only give Naruto a sympathetic look which Setsuna saw and only wondered just what the box held.
"You're not keeping this Moroha." The man said much to the annoyance of Moroha who found this as a challenge to prevent her from knowing what it was.
"Anywaaaaays." Naruto immediately began, trying to change the subject. "Moroha found a way back to the past." This surprised Towa and Sōta.
"Is that true?"
"That's great news." Sōta looks at the backpack on the floor. "That backpack you have there reminds me of the one my sister used to have." This brought up concern from Towa.
"Wouldn't all that stuff have the possibility of changing History?" Yet the girl smiles and waves her hand.
"It'll be fine, I'll tell everyone it's secret demon magic stuff—oh yeah!" She goes into the backpack to pull out a wad of paper that she quickly goes to the father himself and abruptly hands it over.
"Take these." The immediate effect was an almost heart attack as his eyes bulged at the bills.
"When did she spend all this?!" The girl revealed an evil smile at the question.
"Your adorable niece just needed to do a little shopping by herself." In response, he just waved the bills before turning away.
"Yeah, real adorable." He said while leaving the room with the box yet Moroha didn't care much, due to the fact the clerk that wouldn't let her have the box, to begin with, caused her to steal not one but two boxes.
"I'll be sure to get my answers from
Naruto!" She shows a determined smile towards the blonde who noticed it and started to avoid her gaze, feeling awkward.
"Anyways, it's the time!" Moroha smiles brightly once again. "Time to return from whence we came!" Her words gained an awkward laugh from Towa yet Naruto didn't seem to react to it, his gaze looking out the window as his thoughts were on his parents.
It was already dark out as the four had gathered outside the Tree of Old with the Higurashi family consisting of Great grampa, grandma, Sōta, Moe, and Mei.
"Moroha," The great-grandpa reveals a bag of coins tearfully to his great-granddaughter. "the elder association would like a parting gift." Which she gratefully accepts as she takes it while the grandma/Sōta's mom gave her some parting words. While this was happening, Naruto just watched this scene before his gaze moves onto Moe and Setsuna.
"I can't believe we're sending off a once in five-hundred-year prodigy to the Feudal Era. Just promise you'll take good care of that Violin." In response, she lifts it while thanking the mother. As he saw this he turns back to Sōta who faced him and Towa next to Mei.
"We're going now." The man smiles at his adopted daughter. "Take care of yourselves." A nod was given by Naruto just as Mei spoke up.
"Don't forget to come back, ok!" She began which caused them to smile until the next part. "After all, you have to come back so you can marry big-brother Naruto." And just like that, the two blushed while Naruto looks away unlike Towa who spoke.
"M-Mei it's—" Yet she didn't have time to speak.
"You can't lose to those two!" Her gaze focused on the two girls, Moroha and Setsuna. "Be on guard, they might try and steal Naruto, Setsuna is already ahead of you, I caught them talking all night!" At this point, Setsuna's eyes widen with a blush of embarrassment with her eyes meeting the surprised Towa's tho a slight sadness at the fact she's spending time with Naruto rather than her sister, yet this brought up more question. At this point, the dad himself moved closer to Naruto to bring him closer.
"Mei brings up a good point, as a father I'll say this only once Naruto." He pulls the blonde closer with a serious glint. "No funny business with my daughter, understand?" And just like that the two once again found their faces heating up.
"D-DAD!" She shouts at the man who proceeded to smile out of amusement at the scene before his eyes widen which they caught.
"So, you're not even going to say goodbye?" That question caused Naruto to freeze before turning fast to find his parents standing there, with smiles on their faces.
"W-Wait but—" He stops to turn, looking at Sōta in betrayal while the man gives him an apologetic smile.
"I had to tell them." As he heard this, Naruto just looks at the two approaching him which he takes a step back which Towa herself didn't know what to do.
"M-Mom, dad...you see..." He stops and looks up to meet his mother's eyes before he widens to see hers change from a blue to a red while he was brought into a hug.
"I know...you have a lot of questions. Theirs so much you want to know but even I don't have all the answers you seek." She separated from him to look him in the eyes.
"I have sealed away Hundreds of years and was only free ten years before you were born." While he heard that, his eyes just widen.
"Your half-Kitsune." That seemed to get a reaction from everyone who never knew that yet Naruto kept his shock down as he looks at his feet.
"Mom...dad—" He stopped again upon a hand resting on his shoulder, his eyes meeting Minato's.
"We know, we know what happened." The man shows an assuring smile. "You don't have to say anything, just do what you need to do." As he heard those words, Naruto opened his mouth but no words came out yet tears still appeared in his eyes before he shows a manage.
"I love you guys, ya' know."
"We know, and we love you, too."
The three hug with Towa just smiling at this scene while Moroha and Setsuna join her side, the two also smiling at this scene before they saw Kushina's gaze turn to them.
"Well, so this is the long-lost sister I heard so much about, Setsuna?" She said to the Demon Slayer who looks away. "As well as the supposed daughter of Kagome and Inuyasha." Her gaze turns to Moroha who was a little surprised before she proceeds to approach them and without waiting for a response she hugs the three who did not expect that as she leans down close.
"Watch over Naruto and make sure he doesn't stray from the right path." Her words seemed to surprise them while Naruto wondered why exactly he couldn't hear his mother speaking like his hearing was partially dulled before clearing upon her separating from the three.
"You three would make such lovely grandchildren." And just like that, Towa sighs as she's about tired of all this, unlike Setsuna who was avoiding her gaze with a light blush and Moroha just smiles at finding this funny.
"I'm not so sure about that even if he's already seen me naked." And just like that, Naruto facepalms at the same time Minato pinches the bridge of his nose.
"DAMMIT MOROHA!" As he shouted her name he was reduced to a shaking form upon his mother getting in front of him with her glare piercing his soul.
"Want to explain?" He simply brought his hands up yet did nothing as his ear was grabbed and pulled which his mother spoke into it.
"I better not hear stories of you pulling your grandfather's perverted antics or else we'll do more than just 'talk' when you get back." Her words got an immediate reaction.
"Yes, mom." He reluctantly said which Kushina smiles and takes out an envelope she hands to her son who takes it.
"Read it when you arrive." Was the only response she gave him which he places in his pocket just as Moroha reveals her pearl.
"Hey, Root-Head; we have something you can't get in this era! Three rainbow Pearls filled with Demon-Power, I know you've been wanting these!" Setsuna and Towa's single eye glowed while Moroha'a pearl did the same.
"If ya' want these, let us return through time, and then you can have these. That good with you?" In the seconds that followed, a strong gust of wind followed before a light.
"Fine, we have a deal!" With that, a beam of light came forth of rainbow light and with it, followed a portal before them.
"Let's get—" Moroha stops at seeing her backpack and Setsuna's violin case already going through much to their shock.
"Oh crap!" Without another word, the two jumped through immediately.
"Wait up, guys!" Towa called yet she saw Naruto looking back and followed his gaze to their family all standing together.
"Thank you for being my family, see you soon."
"We'll be back."
With that said, they too jumped through the portal as well.
