Chapter 14: Observations
Zordon and Alpha watched Motha block Rocky's Power Sword with her arm on the Command Center's Viewing Globe. They saw her grab his throat and throw him into a tree. Kat fired an arrow at her. Motha caught in her hand and tossed it back at her. It hit the Pink Ranger in the chest, causing her to fly backward and crash into the ground on her side. Alpha waved his arms about. He looked very panicky.
"Ay-yi-yi-yi! The Rangers aren't doing well against Motha at all!" Alpha cried in a frantic voice.
"I have no doubt that Motha was eager to fight the Power Rangers in battle," Zordon boomed. "She is more aggressive than I thought."
"At some point, Zedd and Rita will probably have her team up with one of their goons. That means twice the aggression," Alpha muttered.
"Exactly," Zordon agreed.
Alpha winced at Motha's striking Tommy with a bolt of lightning. This threw him into a bush. She turned her attention toward Billy as he swung his Power Lance at her. She deflected with her hand and grabbed his throat. She threw him to the ground. She kicked him in the stomach three time before letting out a loud snarl.
Alpha tilted his head as Motha punched Aisha in the face when she tried to hit her with her Power Daggers. The moth backhanded her across the cheek and swept her feet out from underneath her with a swing of her arm. She caught Adam coming up behind her with his Power Axe raised in the corner of her eye. She spun around and blew fire from her mouth. He was hit and thrown down. Alpha couldn't bear to watch anymore and walked toward Zordon. He stared him straight in the eye.
"I find it so hard to watch the Rangers get pummeled by that moth, Zordon," Alpha said in regret. "I hate feeling so helpless."
"I understand your frustration. Unfortunately, we can't do for the Rangers right now. All we can do is hope they make it through this battle," Zordon boomed.
Alpha faced the Viewing Globe once more. "It doesn't look good at all with the way it is going."
Zordon let out a soft sigh. "Still, we can't lose hope."
Alpha cringed as Motha began flapping her wings while staring the Power Rangers down. The wind began picking up. Tommy, Kat, Billy, Rocky, Adam, and Aisha tried to fight it, but it got stronger by the second. They were blown backward in which they crashed into the ground. They struggled to stand. Alpha went to Zordon again.
"When Jason, Trini, Billy, Zack, and Kimberly took on Tommy the first time, he pummeled them without any trouble," Alpha commented honestly. "After Jason went missing, his friends had to fight Tommy without him. They were lucky to escape him and the Sword of Darkness with the Megazord's Mastodon shield."
"I found it incredible the Dragonzord operated so well after being out of commission for ten thousand years. The Rangers had a difficult time fighting it until you brought me back online," Zordon responded. "The Dinozords returned. They were at full power. They had used the lava to heal from the eclipse battle."
"That was one of the most brutal battles they ever fought against our enemies. Rita created a spell to eclipse the sun and cut off the Megazord's solar power. Billy fixed that by creating an alternate power system that can cut on during eclipses," Alpha explained.
"The Rangers never had to use it. It was destroyed along with the Thunderzords during their first battle with Rito. However, Billy invented an excellent emergency system. It allows the Ninjazords and Shogunzords to split from their Megazord formations and go to their hiding places if they are heavily damaged," Zordon pointed out.
"The Rangers can't use the Ninjazords at the moment because Falconzord is being held captive," Alpha said sadly.
"That may be, but the Shogunzords are serving the team very well. In fact, they are even more powerful than the Ninjazords are," Zordon commented with a soft chuckle.
"I have a feeling Billy will find a way to allow him and his teammates to control the Ninjazords and the Shogunzords at the same time," Alpha said eagerly.
"It is possible he already has," Zordon responded truthfully.
Alpha nodded in agreement. He raised his arms above his head before tilting it quite a bit. He lowered them after five seconds. He took three steps backward with a soft sigh.
"It is interesting that Rita and Zedd will attack places at random from time to time, Zordon," Alpha said, giving a shrug. "It often surprises us during very quiet times."
"I do recall Rita's minions attacking places at random occasionally during the first invasion of Earth," Zordon admitted. "It was usually to alleviate boredom. Villains have a habit of getting bored sitting around their base."
"That's true, but that doesn't mean we should never stay on guard," Alpha whispered seriously.
"Of course not," Zordon agreed.
Alpha shuddered. "It is quite probable that Zedd and Rita know about Kimberly's true origins and her pregnancy. They are likely making plans for her and the baby."
"When Master Vile comes—" Zordon started.
"Zordon, you just said when Master Vile comes," Alpha said in shock. "What do you mean by that?"
"I am getting a feeling that Master Vile is on his way here. He wants to come to Earth in hopes of finding Kara," Zordon explained.
"If that is true, then Rita will blab to him about Kimberly being pregnant and his long-lost daughter!" Alpha blurted out frantically.
"That will happen, Alpha. I have no doubt," Zordon agreed. "At the same time, we can't let that stay on our minds. We have to make preparations for his arrival."
"That means telling the others about your feeling," Alpha pointed out.
Zordon nodded in agreement. "Right."
Alpha faced the Viewing Globe again. He made his way to it and lowered his arms. He and Zordon watched Motha punch Tommy in the stomach and backhand Aisha across the face. They swallowed hard when she blocked punches from Billy and Kat with her arms before sweeping their feet out from underneath them.
Alpha tilted his head as Motha formed an energy ball in her hand to toss it at Rocky, who was hit and thrown to the ground. She spun around and punched Adam in the stomach when he tried to sneak up behind her. She threw her arms out and shot lightning from her fingertips. She hit all six Rangers as they made it to their feet. They were hit and ended up on the ground again.
"The Power Rangers may be skilled fighters, but they will have a difficult time fighting Master Vile's monsters," Alpha mumbled dejectedly. "They are even worse than Zedd and Rita's monsters."
"Very true, Alpha," Zordon agreed. "What sets his monsters apart from theirs is his tendency to make them highly aggressive. He views aggression as a perfect weapon against the forces of good."
"He could train Goldar, Scorpina, and Rito to use aggression in battle to fight the Rangers!" Alpha cried. "Ay-yi-yi!"
"Master Vile could choose a place where we least expect to launch an attack. Before Kimberly's Power Coin was taken, Zedd and Rita launched an attack on Angel Grove High School just as the students were letting out for the day," Zordon answered, sighing heavily.
"Goldar and Scorpina did a number on the school! There was broken glass and knocked-over trashcans everywhere!" Alpha shouted.
"After Zedd and Rita made them grow to giant size, the Rangers battled them with the Ninja Megazord. They had a hard time until Ninjor showed up to help them. They managed to defeat them," Zordon added.
"Most of the students and teachers got out of the school safely while the battle was going on. Some did take shelter inside," Alpha pointed out.
"They emerged from their hiding places once the battle was over," Zordon said matter-of-factly.
"Yes," Alpha said, nodding. "We are grateful no one got hurt there."
"Mm-hmm," Zordon said, blinking twice. "That is always a concern of ours. There are times when civilian injury can't be avoided."
Alpha looked more closely at Motha's grabbing Billy and Kat's throats and lowering them to throw them upward. They landed on their sides. She formed a lightning bolt in her hand and tossed it at Tommy, who was hit and thrown backward into a picnic table. She shot fireballs from her mouth at Rocky, Adam, and Aisha, hitting them and sending them flying through the air. The trio hit the ground on their backs.
"Hang in there, Rangers. You can come out on top. Zordon and I have faith in you," Alpha whispered in a hopeful voice. He and Zordon continued to watch the unfolding battle.
