Holiday Magic Quest Chapter 1 – A Holiday Curse

A squirrel came into his treehouse after a long day of spreading holiday cheer across the town of Innisfail, AB. His name was Samantha, aka Scrat. He settled into the life of the modern-day. He helped out with decorations, gift-wrapping, and even singing Christmas songs, too. Then, one day, while he was on his laptop, a notification came out, front and center.

"Holiday Magic Alert?" said Scrat, as he clicked on the notification. A video popped up on his laptop saying, "Scrat, this is Santa here. For some strange reason, the holiday magic has suddenly gone down, and it's not just here. It's affecting multiple universes, too. It seems the source is coming from the Magic Kingdom, according to our readings."

Scrat took a look at his tablet and realized that Santa was right. It displayed those areas, including Arendelle, Auradon, and Switchback Cove, were starting to lose their holiday magic! Scrat exclaimed, "I'm on it. Let me go get help, first!" Scrat began packing a few items in his travel bag, tablets, maps of the Disney Magic Kingdom, and his acorn pin in front of his bag. He then activated his Portal Entrance, traveling to different universes. "Don't worry, Santa, my team, will help restore the magic." Santa replied, "Thanks, my friend, ho ho ho."

Scrat jumped through the portal and began traveling to his first destination, Switchback Cove.

Switchback Cove – 10000 BC

The herd was busy preparing for the holidays with a feast and tree decorating, soon, there was a problem, and Sid was the first to notice when he was about to decorate the cove. "Hey, where did all the decorations go?" "I don't know. I thought I put them there," answered Diego. "Manny, where are all the decorations? We were supposed to start decorating today."

Manny came up to them and said, "No, sorry guys, but something strange is going on. It's like everything we love about the holiday disappeared…."

Suddenly, a portal opened in front of them, and out came a sabertoothed squirrel. Scrat asked, "Sorry to interrupt the conversation, but am I interrupting something?" "Yes, the decorations are missing and-" answered Sid, who was then shocked. "Wait, you can talk?"

"Yes, I can, and I require your help, Sid. The holidays are in danger."

"Wait, they are?"

"Yes, I'll explain it to you on the way. Let's go, Sid!" Sid jumped into the portal, and Scrat added one last note, "Don't worry, I'll look after Sid, just look after the herd for me, okay?" The portal closed, and both Manny and Diego were stunned for a moment. Diego asked Manny as they started heading back to the herd, "Uhhh, how are we going to explain this to Brooke?" "I don't know, she going to go nuts, well it's going to be tough explaining it to her…" answered Manny.

Arendelle – December 1846 A.D

Anna and Elsa were busy planning a holiday party in the middle of Arendelle, but something started to feel off, everyone in Arendelle was busy with their work, and they all said,

"Sorry, but I need to deliver ice to my friend."

"Maybe later. I have to run some errands."

"Not now. I have a store to run."

After talking to citizens around Arendelle, Anna and Elsa met back at the castle. Anna asked, "Do you feel like everyone is losing their holiday spirit?" "I believe so. I don't know what's going on," Elsa answered. Just then, a portal opened up, and out came a sloth and a saber-tooth squirrel. "Whoa!" exclaimed Anna. Scrat said, "Sorry to drop in, but we need to talk." Scrat quickly told the sisters about the holiday curse situation, the effects, and the source of the curse. "Wow, not good. It looks like you are going to need my help," said Elsa. Anna added, "It's a good thing. We're not affected." Scrat handed Anna a tablet and said, "Here, hold onto this. That way, you can contact us if you need a hand."

"Thanks, I can take care of things from here. Take care of my sister, okay?"

"Don't worry, I won't anything happen to her, I promise."

The portal reopened as Sid, Elsa, and Scrat jumped through the vortex, leaving Anna behind to look after the kingdom.

"Who's next?" asked Sid as they were traveling through the vortex to their next destination. Scrat answered, "Mal, daughter of Maleficent and Hades, she may be a villain kid, but she learned the power of friendship and love."

Auradon – 2021 A.D.

Everyone in Auradon was busy with holiday preparations, a special one since the wedding of King Ben and Queen Mal. Just then, as Mal was about to put the star on top of the tree in the center of Auradon Prep, all the lights in Auradon suddenly went out, making Mal lose her balance, but Ben was able to catch her. Everyman brought out their phones and turned on their flashlights. Mal asked, "Everyone okay?" "We're fine, M. Maybe it was a short fuse," replied Evie. "It's not a short fuse. It feels like a curse…."

"She's right," said a voice that came out of nowhere. "It's a holiday curse, and it's not only affecting Auradon, but it's also affecting multiple universes as well." Everyone shifted their attention to a snow queen, a sloth, and a saber-tooth squirrel. Sid was holding a torch since the power was out. "Who are you, anyway?" asked Audrey. Scrat ignored Audrey and said, "Mal, we need your help to reverse the curse. We'll quickly update you on the situation."

A quick recap later, Scrat told everyone in Auradon of the curse situation. Ben was having a moment with Mal as she was packing up, "Take care of yourself, okay." Mal comforted Ben, "Don't worry, I have a group of friends who can help me out. Look after the kingdom, okay?" "I will."

Scrat activated the rift, ready to travel to the source of the curse, "Ready, team?"

Elsa, Sid, and Mal said together, "Ready." All together, Mal, Sid, Elsa, and Scrat jumped through the portal, waiting to arrive at the Magic Kingdom to save the holiday for their universes and everyone else.

I don't own any of the franchises or any of the characters. However, a variant of Scrat named Samantha was made by me. I spent months watching movies and coming up with ideas, and now I plan my holiday story for everyone to enjoy.
