Chloe and Beca had spent Beca's sophomore year sharing the room and even the bed. They had tried at one point to use separate beds, obtaining a second from a garage sale nearby soon after Chloe had moved in, but one of them usually ended up moving over to the others' bed complaining they were cold or couldn't sleep. In actuality, it had become so routine, that one couldn't sleep without the other. Chloe was always up first, she'd put on a pot of coffee, Beca would get up and make the bed, then they would sit and eat breakfast together before heading out to their respective classes. That was until Beca and Jesse had become more serious. Jesse and Beca had date nights opposite of Bella practice. They always did the same thing. A movie with popcorn in Jesse's room at the Treble house. Occasionally, Beca spent the night, to Chloe's dismay. Chloe hated the nights when Beca didn't return, knowing that she was spending the night at Jesse's made it feel like a knot in her stomach. Beca didn't mention to Jesse the fact that the girls shared the bed most nights when she wasn't with him. She wasn't like hiding it or anything, but it wasn't a big deal, so why make it a thing? But, they never ended up at the Bella's house. Jesse had never even stepped foot in Beca's room.

Beca's junior year at Barden, Chloe had failed Russian Lit. again. Beca was starting to wonder why she keeps taking that course, she obviously doesn't like it and it doesn't pertain to her major, but she shrugged it off. The girls had spent their summer apart. Chloe, at home in Tampa with her family and Beca staying on campus taking a summer class and DJing at the radio station. They talked twice a day on the phone. They were so excited to see each other the first day back, not that Beca would show it. Fat Amy kicked off their first night with a Bella's only party. Beca deejayed of course, while the girls drank, sang, and danced around their house celebrating their past 2 national championships, ready to take on a third. After getting pretty drunk on Fat Amy's drink concoction, Beca was pretty sure it was just straight up tequila, she sauntered up to her bedroom and collapsed on the bed. Chloe followed soon after, but was definitely a different type of drunk than Beca. Beca would get sleepy and go to bed but Chloe got playful and flirty. This particular night, Chloe didn't let Beca get away that easy. She crawled into the bed and started a tickle fight, knowing all the places that would make Beca scream. With Chloe straddled across her stomach, Beca shouted, "okay, okay, you win!" Little did they know that the Trebles had crashed the party downstairs and Jessie was looking for "his girl."

As Chloe began to withdraw, Beca took the opportunity to flip her over and switch positions, so now she straddled the red head and continued the tickle fight. Soon both girls were in tears, laughing so hard, and out of breath. Beca slid off Chloe's stomach next to her so they were face to face. Their eyes connected and Chloe took this opportunity to lean in. This had happened on a few occasions after drinking, but usually Beca would roll over and pass out. Chloe wasn't sure in her drunken state but it seemed as if, this time, Beca was leaning in as well. Just as their lips were about to brush, Jesse barged into the room and switched on the light. Causing Beca to yell, "Dude, what the hell." Chloe scrambled to cover herself since she was in her skimpy tank top pajamas.

"What the hell is this?" Jesse shouted but didn't wait for a response. He stormed out of the room and Beca chased after him yelling about how it wasn't anything that he walked in on. Beca didn't come back to the room that night. Chloe was unsure where her best friend had slept, she had cried herself to sleep. That was the last time Beca and Chloe had been in the same bed. The next day, when Chloe got home from class, Beca's stuff and their extra bed was moved into Fat Amy's room. The girls never spoke about that moment right before Jesse walked in nor the sudden room change. Weeks after, Chloe had become her bubbly self again and pretended like the whole thing never happened. She was going to find another way….

When Beca ran from the room chasing Jesse, it was a sobering moment for her. What was she doing? Was she going to kiss Chloe back there? Yes, she would have if Jesse hadn't barged in. Shit! Major disaster clean up was going to be necessary. She chased Jesse outside, despite being in her pajamas. "Dude, slow down," She yelled after him. "What was I walking in on," Jesse asked.

"It was nothing. "We've been drinking, you know how flirty Chloe gets when she's drinking. I swear it was nothing," was Beca's response.

"Really? I've seen the way she looks at you when you're not drinking. I know you guys are close, but c'mon Beca how blind can you be?"

That was like getting hit by a bus. Did Chloe want to be more? Beca rethought the last couple of years. Their nearly nightly cuddle sessions. The smirks and glances at each other during practices. No, that's just how friends are, Beca tried convincing herself. Then why were you going to kiss her?

"If you want this to work, you are going to have to be honest with me Beca. If you two are just friends, why can't you share a room with someone else? I want you to share a room with someone else. Otherwise, I don't know if I can trust you. I definitely don't trust her. I've seen the way she looks at you."

Beca did not like being told what to do and definitely didn't want to move all her stuff. However, these new feelings that were emerging from the "not kiss" were confusing her and she was going to do what she did best. Run away from it and pretend it never happened. The next day, when she knew Chloe was in class, she moved all of her things into Amy's room. She convinced the other Bellas that it was because she didn't think it was fair that Amy had the biggest room to herself. Even though the girls had tried to make that point the whole previous school year.

Chloe was sad and distant for a few days after Beca had moved her stuff out. Beca had definitely been trying to avoid Chloe as much as possible, but she was missing her friend. One morning she got up extra early, she needed to make sure it was before Chloe got up, stupid morning people Beca grouched to herself. She made Chloe her favorite breakfast and they went back to their usual morning routine of eating together before class. It felt so good to be with her friend again. They didn't talk much, but their eyes connected and they both smiled, like there was mutual forgiveness without needing to say anything. That was why Beca needed Chloe in her life. She just got her.
