AN: And we are back with another chapter! Well as you can see I decided to keep writing this story. Thank you all so much for the support. It really means a lot. So without further aduie, let's just jump into it!
Broken Times
Ochaco Uraraka, lived a happy life with her mother and father. They never had a lot of money but barely managed to scrape by with what they could. But Uraraka had a dream, a dream where she would become a hero and make a ton of money to pay her parents back for everything they had done for her.
However that would all change when the world went to hell. Uraraka was actually working with her father when the outbreak happened. Touching 4 steel beams Uraraka activated her quirk causing them to float up. Waiting for them at the top was one of the construction workers that had a weak magnetic quirk. Once the beams made it to the top and were secured by the other worker, Uraraka touched her finger tips together, "Release!"
Taking a deep breath Uraraka had sweat dripping on her forehead and wiped it off. "Man, this is hard work." she said, taking a moment for herself.
"Don't work too hard Ochaco, you're still a kid after all." said someone behind her.
Turning around Uraraka found a tall man, with short brown hair and full of muscle walking towards her. "I'm fine dad, I can handle this much." said Uraraka.
The man laughed, "I know sweetie, just looking out for you that's all." This was Kenji Uraraka, Ochaco's father. "Here, rest for a bit." he said, handing her a water bottle.
Uraraka grabbed the bottle, "Thanks."
Kenji then looked around at the construction site, "Do you still want to get into UA?"
Uraraka nodded, "Yeah, I do. I want to be a hero, sign for a good agency, and pay you guys back for what you've done for me."
Kenji sighed, "Hero work is dangerous work, your mother and I don't want you to get hurt."
"I know that dad but I'm sorry I want to be a hero." Said Uraraka.
"And there's no changing your mind?" Asked Kenji.
Uraraka shook her head, "No."
"Fine, it's your choice and we will accept it." said Kenji.
Uraraka smiled, "Thanks dad."
After a few moments of silence Kenji turned to Uraraka, "What about engineering? I heard they pay well."
Uraraka rolled her eyes, "Dad!"
The two then went back to work and all seemed normal until that is, the sun started to set. Uraraka was working on the top floor of the building when out of nowhere an explosion was seen off in the distance.
Uraraka quickly turned her attention towards the explosion as smoke began to rise, "What the, what was that?"
That's when more explosions began ringing out throughout the city they were in. All around them buildings were destroyed, sending pieces in every direction. That's when fear began to set in, "Dad!"
From the ground floor Kenji shouted, "Everyone evacuate the area! Ochaco! Let's go!"
Knowing that running down the stairs would take too long, Uraraka decided to jump from the top floor. As she fell Uraraka activated her quirk on herself and slowly fell down to the ground.
Landing she deactivated her quirk and ran towards her father's work truck which he already had on and ready to go.
Jumping in and buckling in they took off, the site they were at was a good 30 minutes away from their apartment.
As they sped past they caught glimpses of people running away from something with terror filling their eyes. Heroes ran by as well, Uraraka however kept hoping that this would all blow over and the heroes would take care of whatever bad guy was causing this.
As they got closer to their home the signs of life began to dwindle. Blood now stained the sidewalk once filled with people out and about. Curiously however, Uraraka noticed that there were no bodies in sight.
The two were now in the final turn to get to their house and once they turned Kenji hit the brakes.
There in the middle of the road stood someone with their back turned. Kenji began to honk the horn, "Get out of the way!" He yelled, but the person wouldn't move.
That's when Uraraka got a bad feeling about this, "Dad, does that guy look weird to you?"
Taking a closer look Kenji noticed that the person was twitching and blood dripped from their arm. "He's hurt."
But their concern for the man turned to horror when something came crashing into the side of their truck. Uraraka screamed as a person's face was now visible from the passenger side.
Their faces were scratched and bloody, their eyes white and bludge from their sockets. With every slam of the glass blood would splatter. "Dad!"
Stepping on it once again Kenji went forward, as he did the person standing in the road jumped towards their windshield. "Are these zombies!?" yelled Kenji.
Now on the hood of the car the person who had the same features as the other one was now slamming their head against the glass.
Over and over the zombie kept smashing into it causing cracks to appear. Finally with one final headbutt the zombie shattered the glass.
Glass was then thrown at the two, but Kenji kept driving. That's when he noticed the zombie reaching in and trying to grab Uraraka. It then managed to grab Uraraka by the arm and began to pull her in to take a bite out of her.
But Kenji wouldn't allow it, "Like hell you're getting her!" Sticking his arm around Kenji pushed the zombie off of Uraraka. But they still had it on the hood of their truck.
That's when Uraraka got an idea, "Dad, hit the brakes!"
Figuring it out Kenji nodded and slammed on the brakes. The zombie on their roof flew off and hit the pavement. Rolling to a stop it tried to get up but their body was too mangled so it tried crawling.
Not giving it a chance Kenji drove over it, crushing it's skull. "Let's go, we are almost home." Said Kenji as he drove away.
Looking back, Uraraka saw the now splattered remains of the person. "T-This is a zombie apocalypse."
Getting home the two got out of the truck, going into the back they both grabbed a metal crowbar. Slowly moving up the stairs to their apartment building they finally made it to their place.
But that's when they noticed something was wrong, the door to their apartment was open and covered in blood. "Mom…"
"We can't think that way Ochaco, let's go inside and see if she's there. With any luck, she might have gotten away." Said Kenji entering the apartment.
Uraraka nodded, her mother was strong, she just had to be alive, right? Their apartment was small so there weren't a lot of places someone could hide. However, as they walked into the hall they noticed that the pots and pans were all over the floor.
Uraraka gripped her crowbar tighter, "Mom, are you here?"
No response, so deeper into the apartment they went. They were walking past Uraraka's room when out of nowhere the door to the room opened up and out jumped someone from the shadows.
Father and daughter turned as the person snarled and lunged at Kenji. Luckily he managed to put the crowbar in front of him as he was now holding the person back.
Uraraka raised her crowbar to hit the person but stopped when she noticed who it was. "M-Mom?"
The now zombified Yuko Uraraka tried to take bites out of her husband. Kenji's eyes widened, "N-No, it can't be…"
Thinking fast, Uraraka got behind her mother and put her in a neck lock with the crowbar. "Mom! Please don't make us do this!"
But the zombified Yuko thrashed around before getting up and slamming Uraraka against the wall.
Smacking her head with a loud thud, Uraraka winced in pain as she let go of the crowbar. Falling Uraraka now rested up against the wall, her head hurting. But when she looked up Uraraka saw her mother standing over her.
That's when she got a good look at her mother, her eyes were whitened, and the color of her skin was gone. Uraraka then noticed that her clothes were ripped from the side, as blood stained her shirt.
Yuko was about to bite down on Uraraka when from behind a hand grabbed her mouth and a crowbar appeared through her stomach.
Uraraka was surprised, "Dad!"
Standing behind Yuko was Kenji, "Uraraka, listen to me, this is no longer your mother. She's gone, we can't let this thing ruin our memories of her." He said as tears ran down his face.
Uraraka bit her lip, "Y-You're right! This isn't mom." Getting up, Uraraka used her crowbar and stabbed it through Yuko's head.
Yuko let out one final growl as she fell to the floor finally dead. Uraraka leaned back against the wall and slid down, as she did she looked down at her hands seeing them covered in blood.
Sobbing Uraraka then curled and cried into her arms. "T-There's no time for that Ochaco, you have to go." Said Kenji.
"Me? What about you?" She asked looking up. "N-No, please…"
"Sorry about this sweetie, but it seems I won't be able to join you." With blood dripping down his hand Kenji showed that he had been bitten.
"T-There has to be something I can do. I can't lose you both!" Said Uraraka with tears in her eyes.
Kenji smiled, "You won't lose us, we'll always be with you. Right here." Kenji then pointed at Uraraka's heart. "Remember us when you get scared or lonely. But always remember, you have to live, no matter what you keep on living."
Uraraka now had even more tears, "I will, I swear!"
Kenji smiled, "Good, good. I'm getting tired, I should get some rest." Walking over to his room Kenji went in and laid on the bed.
A few minutes later Kenji died, but Uraraka still had something to do. Walking over to the side of the bed she checked to see that he was really gone and waited for any signs of reanimation.
It took maybe 4 minutes for "life" to return. It started off slow, weak groans. But Uraraka knew what she had to do. Walking over to where her mother was she reached down and pulled the crowbar out of her own mother.
Walking back into the room she now noticed that her father was trying to move. "I'm sorry dad, I hope you and mom meet again on the other side. And don't worry, I will keep on living."
Raising the bar, Uraraka aimed and then brought it down. The small groan of the undead echoed throughout the apartment as Kenji now laid dead on the bed.
Dropping the crowbar, Uraraka fell to her knees and began to cry. "W-Why? Why did this happen! It's not fair!"
After several minutes Uraraka was still on the floor and with it now being night finally got up. Walking out of the room she touched the body of her mother causing it to float.
With her body not easier to carry, she moved it to where Kenji was. Now floating above the bed, Uraraka deactivated her quirk and gently placed her mom down beside her dad. "They deserve to be together one final time."
With that done Uraraka went into her room, grabbed a gym bag and went to get all the food she could find in her apartment and those around her. Armed with only the crowbar Uraraka would set off with one goal in mind, survive.
Present
"After that I've spent it just going from place to place trying to find food and shelter." Said Uraraka as she now sat in front of a fireplace.
Izuku threw in a few more logs, "I see, it seems to me we both had it pretty rough."
Uraraka nodded, "Yeah, but at least we're alive. Which is more than I can say for the others."
"True, so what are you going to do now?" Asked Izuku.
Uraraka shrugged, "Don't know, maybe go somewhere else. Although this place does seem pretty good."
"I take pride in that. It may be a dump, but I've got what I need here." Said Izuku. .
"Yeah, you even have warm water to shower with. You know how long it's been since I've had a nice hot shower? Ages!" Said Uraraka.
Izuku laughed, "Well, you're free to use it. Just don't waste so much. I get that water from a rooftop barrel."
"How do I know you won't assault me while I'm showering?" Asked Uraraka with a stern look on her face.
"I wouldn't do that. But if you still don't trust me, then here." Izuku reached behind his back and pulled out his hunter's knife. "Now if I do try you can kill me."
Uraraka looked at the knife and then at Izuku, "You trust people to easily,"
"I really don't, I've come across some really shity people and they all had this look in their eyes. But you, you don't." Said Izuku. "Go take a shower, I'll wait here."
Still a bit unsure, Uraraka grabbed the knife, "And no peeking. Peek and I'll cut it off."
Izuku's body shivered, "I rather you not. So I won't. Oh right here" Izuku tossed Uraraka a green shirt and pants, "It ain't much and it might be a bit big for you but that's all I got."
Looking at the shirt Uraraka smiled, "Maybe you're not as bad as I thought."
Going behind a metal sheet, Uraraka found a very crude shower head and a few packets of soap. She undressed but as she removed her shirt we saw that a scar was present just above her abdomen. Touching the scar Uraraka flinched as she thought back on how she got it.
After showering Uraraka felt relieved, "Man, I really needed that." She said walking over to Izuku who started a fire to cook some food.
"Feels good right." Said Izuku as he turned a fish on a stick.
Uraraka nodded as she took a seat, "Yeah, I must say Midoriya, you've done well for yourself."
"Hard work I guess, and pure luck. It wasn't easy but I'm still alive." Said Izuku. "So have you decided on what you'll do now?"
"Ideally I'd like to stay here. But I know everything has a price, unfortunately I don't have much to offer." Explained Uraraka.
"There is something you could do." Said Izuku looking at Uraraka.
Uraraka flinched and reached for the knife,"No Way! I'm not giving you my body! I knew that's what you were after, all you guys are the same!"
Izuku's eyes widened, "W-What!? No! You didn't even let me finish. I was going to say in exchange for staying here you can help me look for supplies. I'm running out of food and water. I can catch fish but that's if I'm lucky. If you help me search around the cities I'll let you stay here. Besides, it's safer in numbers and you seem to know how to fight."
Uraraka thought about it, "It's not a bad deal. This place is secure and easy to defend. Hmmm…."
Izuku stood up, "Sleep on it and let me know in the morning. For now, eat." Grabbing one of the fish, Izuku handed it over.
Smiling Uraraka took it, "To living on." Taking a bite, Uraraka began to devour it.
After finishing his food Izuku stretched, "Anyway, I'ma take a shower, you can go to sleep in the bus. There are pillows and blankets in there. Don't worry I'll be out here so I won't do anything."
Uraraka nodded, "Sounds good to me."
"Good." With that Izuku walked over to the shower area. As he did he removed his shirt exposing his body. Uraraka blushed when she saw how muscular Izuku was. But as she looked carefully she began to notice something, his body, it was covered in scars.
Uraraka also noticed that Izuku had bandage wraps around his left forearm and didn't take it off when he entered the shower. "Strange."
After getting out of the shower Izuku walked over to the bus and found Uraraka asleep. "Guess she must have been tired." That's when he noticed that she had her gun in her hand. "Smart, never could be too careful."
Walking back to the fireplace Izuku sat down once again. "Let's hope this doesn't turn out like last time." He then looked at his bandaged up arm and touched it.
The Next Day
Uraraka was sound asleep in the bus, when she felt a hand touch her shoulder. Snapping her eyes open she pulled out the gun underneath the pillow and pointed it.
Izuku backed off with his hands up, "Hey, easy. I was just waking you up so you could eat. Now, do you mind putting the gun down?"
Uraraka's eyes were wide and her breathing was heavy. Looking down she noticed she was still fully clothed, "You didn't do anything, right?"
Izuku nodded, "Nothing." Putting the gun down, Izuku breathed a sigh of relief. "Thanks, now come on, it'll get cold."
Getting up Uraraka found a can of chicken noodle soup over the fire. "Thanks."
"Don't mention it." Said Izuku as he began to eat.
As they were eating, Uraraka kept looking at Izuku. "Hey, can I ask you something?"
"Sure." Said Izuku.
"Who was here before me?" Izuku froze up. "The pillows, you had more than one. There were also a pair of slippers that are too small for you but fits me. Which leads me to believe it was a girl."
Izuku put down his soup, "That's enough. Are you going to stay here or not?"
Seeing that it was a touchy subject Uraraka backed off. "Yes, if you'd let me, I want to stay here."
"Good, go grab your gear. If you want the right to live here you'll have to earn it. Show me what you got." Said Izuku walking away.
Uraraka quickly got her stuff and followed Izuku outside his base. "Where are we going?"
"To a city east of here. It used to be an industrial area and is filled with large warehouses. Should be supplies there, but also a lot of zombies. So we'll need to be quiet, that means no guns unless we need to." Explained Izuku.
Uraraka raised an eyebrow, "But I only have guns. I don't have a sword like you."
Izuku tossed one of his swords behind him, to which Uraraka caught. "Use that. Two hands and grip it tight."
Uraraka partially unsheathed the sword and saw the sun reflecting off the blade. "I guess those kendo classes I took in elementary school are going to pay off."
Walking for about 4 hours Izuku and Uraraka made it to the city. And as Izuku explained, there were nothing but warehouses, "Think we'll find something here?" Asked Uraraka as they walked towards a warehouse.
Izuku shrugged, "Don't know, but they should have at least something. We'll check this one first."
Climbing over the chain link fence Izuku landed on the other side, "Alright, it's clear. Come on." Izuku expected Uraraka to climb over too but instead found her floating over it. "Right, you can do that."
"Quirks sure are useful." Said Uraraka with a smile.
"Yeah if you're not dead. Stay close and watch my back." Said Izuku as he pushed open an entrance.
The sound of the heavy metal door was heard, looking in they found the warehouse completely dark. Reaching into his bag Izuku pulled out a flashlight.
Turning it on the light shined and exposed a dozen zombies standing in the middle of the warehouse. They all then simultaneously turned and roared at the two, "Shit!' yelled Uraraka as she tried to reach for her gun.
But that's when Izuku stopped her, "I said no guns! You'll attract the others from the warehouses. Use the sword I gave you and cut them down."
The group of zombies then began to run at them. Izuku gripped his sword with one hand, thanks to him holding the light. That's when the first zombie jumped at them.
Coming in from behind Izuku, Uraraka appeared and sliced up. The blade sliced into the zombie's weak skin from bottom to top, causing the body to split into two and blood and flesh to splat on the ground.
That impressed Izuku, "Nice. Let's see if you can keep it up."
Using the little light they could see the two sliced their way through the group. Blood splattered across the floor as they two made their way into the warehouse.
Having dealt with them and their swords dripping in blood, Izuku sighed, "You're not half bad with a sword."
Uraraka slashed her sword, wiping the blade clean, "Me? What about you? The way you handled that sword makes me think someone taught you."
"Someone did, a while ago." Explained Izuku. "But they died, just like everyone else. Come on, let's see what we can find here."
Going through the warehouse Izuku found some batteries, while Uraraka found some wiring. "Looks like this was an old electrical factory." Said Uraraka as she threw what she found in her bag.
"Seems that way. Come on, we still have a lot of warehouses to go through." Going through as many as they could, the two didn't find much. Most of them were already stripped clean, the only thing they did find was the undead occupants guarding them.
Seeing that they had a few hours of light left, Izuku decided to check one last warehouse.
This particular one was 6 stories high and had a glass pain that showed stairs on one side. This one seemed to be an old steel warehouse. Apparent by the dozens of metal sheets all over the first floor, but no zombies, curious.
The two then made it up to the second floor and found a break area with a vending machine on the floor. Using Uraraka's quirk they managed to flip it over to reveal that the contents of the machine were still there. Some of the chips and candy were expired but the rest would be a nice little treat.
Walking up the stairs to the 3rd floor Izuku sniffed the air, "You smell that?"
Uraraka sniffed as well, "Yeah, it smells like, gas."
Opening the door to the 3rd floor, Izuku's eyes widened. "What the fuck…"
Uraraka looked inside, "Holy shit."
Inside lining the entire 3rd floor were barrels of gas, all stacked up against each other. "Did someone want to blow this entire building up!?" asked Uraraka.
"Maybe, or maybe they were using it as a last resort." Said Izuku.
Uraraka thought about it, "But why? What's so important that they would risk killing themselves to keep it?"
Izuku looked up, "Let's go find out."
The 4th and 5th floors were both turned into makeshift living areas, complete with beds and a kitchen area. "People were living here. But why leave?" Asked Uraraka.
Reaching a corner of the room Izuku bent down and picked up a stuffed teddy bear. He then looked around to see that some clothes were still left behind. "They left in a hurry. Or running from something."
"Hey come and look at this." called out Uraraka. Walking over Izuku was surprised to say the least, "I think I found what they were trying to protect." There on several racks on the wall were guns and equipment, a lot of them.
"Woah, the people that used to be here must have gotten these from a convoy. Back when the military still had a foothold in Japan." said Izuku as he picked up two grenades.
"But that's just it…" Uraraka picked up an AR-15 and a few magazines before turning around and looking at the empty floor. "If there were so many guns, why would they leave? And where are they now?"
"Food supply was probably running low. Come on, we got one more floor to check. After we check there we'll head back." Uraraka nodded, with that they both went to check the final floor. However as they walked up the stairs they got the smell of rotting flesh.
"Damn that stinks, at least now we know where the occupants went." making it up to the door they were surprised to find a partially decomposed body slumped down beside the door. Inspecting the corpse Izuku found that this person had a bullet hole underneath their chin, he then found the gun in the person's hand.
Izuku had seen this before, turning to Uraraka he pointing to her weapon. Uraraka nodded knowing that he just asked her to be ready. Izuku then began to push the door, since it was old and rusted it was hard to get open. Izuku's voice strained as he slowly opened the door, with one final push the doors creaked as they opened up.
That was a mistake, with the sun right behind them the light entered exposing the several hundred zombies packed on the floor. Men, women, and children all turned and roared at them, "FUCK! Open fire!" yelled Izuku as he raised his sniper rifle and fired into the crowd.
A loud bang ran out as the bullet left the barrel of Izuku's gun. Flying through the closed area the bullet ripped through the head of a zombie, followed by the one behind it, and then the other, and another. With one shot 5 zombies fell, but that wasn't even enough to put a dent on the amount that were in front of them.
Uraraka quickly followed his lead and began to fire the AR-15 she just got into the crowd. Muzzle flashes illuminated the area as they fired, but with every body they dropped 3 more zombies would appear. Soon the two found themselves starting to get overwhelmed, "We need to move!" yelled Uraraka as she reloaded.
Bullet casings and the smell of gunpowder filled the air as Izuku pulled back the hammer, "Get ready to run!"
Uraraka turned to Izuku to find him holding one of the grenades in his hand. Pulling the pin free Izuku pulled his arm back and threw it into the crowd. "RUN!" he yelled, turning to run towards the stairs. Getting off a few more shots Uraraka then turned to run as well, as they reached the first steps however the grenade exploded, sending shrapnel into the crowd of zombies. The pieces of metal ripped through a major chunk of the group with bodies being severed and limbs flying off.
The resulting explosion also ripped through the floor exposing a whole that led right into the floor below. Thanks to the explosion Izuku and Uraraka were thrown off balance, smacking against the glass a crack appeared. "You good?" asked Izuku.
Uraraka nodded, "I'll live, but we have another problem." Looking outside the window Izuku saw a large hoard of zombies running towards the building.
Izuku clicked his tongue, "Great, not another problem."
But as Izuku turned around Uraraka spotted something, something red on the floor. That's when she saw it, "Midoriya, you're bleeding!"
Izuku grabbed his side, "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. It's just some shrapnel. We need to make it down before the horde gets here."
Uraraka agreed, "Right!"
They had just made it to the 4th floor when that door above them exploded open and out flooded more zombies. "Where the fuck did these come from!" yelled Uraraka.
"The grenade must have created a hole. They're coming from the top floor." Yelled Izuku. "Give me your gun." Turning Uraraka tossed her gun, catching it, Izuku in turn threw his sniper rifle to which Uraraka caught. Izuku then began to fire upstairs, while Uraraka fired outside towards the upcoming hoard.
But with the zombies coming from the top Izuku knew they were in a very dangerous spot and the only way to get out of it was to do something very dangerous. "Uraraka, go on ahead. I'll slow them down."
Uraraka looked at Izuku confused, "What are you going to do?"
That's when she saw the other grenade in his hand and him looking into the floor full of gas. "Are you stupid! You'll blow yourself up!"
Izuku smirked, "No I won't, now go you don't have much time. Besides, I don't plan on dying just yet."
Uraraka gritted her teeth, "You better make it out."
"I didn't think you cared about me Uraraka." said Izuku as he fired the last of the magazine.
"HA! I just think it would be a waste if I had to learn all your base's secrets." the two smiled at each other. "I'll see you on the ground floor."
With that Uraraka ran down the stairs, Izuku then turned and grabbed the grenade and was just about to pull the pin when a zombie came crashing down from the stairs. The undead landed on top of him and pinned him against the ground. It tried to take bites out of him but Izuku luckily raised the gun up so the zombie only bit the gun itself.
But Izuku was now in trouble, with this one on top of him the grenade rolled away. "Fuck! Get the hell off of me!" Yelled Izuku as he tried to roll over.
With blood still running down his shrapnel wound Izuku strained as he twisted his body causing the wound to open up more.
Now on top of the zombie Izuku had leverage and used it against the undead. Striking it with the butt of the gun it groaned, Izuku then repeated this over and over until destroying the zombie's head completely.
But that's when he heard it, the doors to the first floor bursting open. The zombies were now inside the building and heading up.
Crawling on the floor, Izuku made his way towards the grenade. With his hands stained with blood Izuku managed to pull the pin. Throwing it as hard as he could, Izuku chucked it into the gas room.
At the very least Izuku had 5 seconds to get away, with that much gas this whole building would go down with him inside.
Seeing no other option, Izuku took the pin from the grenade and threw it at the window. However, he couldn't muster up enough strength to shatter it, he only managed to crack it.
But instead of looking for something else Izuku ran at the glass. The grenade was rolling to a stop in front of one of the barrels as Izuku jumped through the glass.
The resulting explosion was massive, the entire floor was engulfed by flames. The sheer shockwave pushed Izuku through the glass.
The flames managed to burn part of Izuku's back, but that was the least of his problems. Now free falling Izuku had no way of stopping himself. Floor by floor Izuku could do nothing but wait for his body to hit the floor, killing him.
Closing his eyes, Izuku accepted his fate, but someone else had other plans. Just as Izuku was about to hit the ground Uraraka appeared and managed to touch him with all five of her fingers, causing him to float.
Grabbing him out of the air, Uraraka quickly carried him away. Jumping from roof to roof Uraraka used her quirk to move around much faster than walking or running.
"T-Thank you." Said Izuku, his voice growing weaker.
Uraraka focused on the path ahead, "You can thank me by not dying."
The four hour trip on foot was cut in half thanks to Uraraka. But that also meant she had to use her quirk for much longer than she'd normally do. Fortunately, Izuku weighed much less than a metal beam so she could handle it.
Making it to the base, Uraraka quickly let her quirk go and landed near the bus. With Izuku in his arms she quickly rushed in and put him down. "Alright let me see."
Lifting up his shirt Uraraka noticed the source of the blood. "I need to stop that. Where's your medical supplies?"
Izuku weakly put up a finger towards the back of the bus. Getting up, Uraraka quickly went over and found what she needed. Grabbing a gauze pad she pressed it up against the injury. "You've lost a lot of blood."
Izuku laughed as he slowly began to close his eyes. Uraraka panicked, "Hey hey! Come on stay with me, I need you to stay awake. Alright, stay awake! Hey Midoriya, come on stay with me! Don't you dare close your eyes on me!"
All throughout the night Uraraka tended to Izuku's wounds. She even stitched up the wound on his side caused by the shrapnel and did what she could with the burns on his back.
It was now morning and Uraraka was asleep beside Izuku. Slowly opening his eyes Izuku felt the warm sun hit his face. "I'm, I'm alive?"
He tried to get up but the pain forced him back down. Turning his head he found Uraraka, "Did she stay up all night, for me?"
As Izuku asked that Uraraka began to wake up, rubbing her eyes she noticed Izuku awake. "Good, you're alive. How are you feeling?"
"Better, my back and sides are still killing me though." Said Izuku.
"That's normal, so we have to talk." Getting up Izuku noticed that Uraraka had a gun in her hands.
Izuku reached for his left arm and noticed that the bandages were gone. "Guess you found out huh."
Hearing the clicking of a hammer, Izuku then watched as Uraraka pointed the gun at his head, "Explain, now."
Pulling his arm out from the sheets, Izuku lifted up and showed Uraraka the bite mark of a zombie. "Where do I even start?"
As the two were about to talk a glint was seen far away atop of a building. "So what do you think?" Asked a girl with a pair of binoculars, her black eyes reflecting off the sun.
She then passed them to the other person on the roof who looked through them. "They don't seem too much of a threat, and they seem about our age." The boy then put down the binoculars showing that one of his eyes was tortoise in color. "What do you think we should do?"
