Derek had done a lot of stupid things in his life.

Very few of them did he truly regret though.
There were maybe a handful, out of the dozens, he looked back on with regret.
Then it happened.
He did something so stupid, it easily put all other past acts of stupidity to shame.
It topped the list.
And it would remain there, he was certain, for the rest of his life.

Logically, it would then follow, it should also claim the title of The Biggest Regret of His Life.
But Derek was not a logical guy.
Never had been.
It was one of the many traits about himself he took pride in.
So try as he might - and try he had - Derek couldn't seem to muster any regret at all.

Zero.
Nada.
Zilch.
Kissing Casey had been stupid, yes.
But it hadn't felt stupid.
