The three Starks were coming back after cleaning up in the river, both bothers kept watch as their sister bathed, when there was a commotion in town. "And she just jumped into the work as if she had no dignity," they heard some of the women say as they passed. Alora just smiled and nodded to them from her place between her brothers. She was now wearing a clean dress, and the men were wearing the set of clothes that were not covered in mud.
A laugh followed them, "What man in his right mind would marry that?"
More laughter and while only the tightening in Brandon's shoulders showed his displeasure at it Codin whirled around with a demand to know who said that on his lips when Alora caught his arm, "Ignore them."
Grinding his teeth Codin nodded and both his siblings pulled him along to make sure of it. They both knew that he had a temper when it came to insults to the family, and the village had enough troubles with out it. Still the woman was right, no one wanted to marry Alora Stark.
