Lee and Amanda entered the Agency through the Georgetown Lobby and were promptly greeted by Mrs. Marston.

"Good afternoon, Mrs. Marston. The word is piggy bank" Amanda said.

"Have a good day" Mrs. Marston said as she waved them through.

Lee and Amanda got on the elevator. Amanda wrapped her arms around Lee's waist and put her head against his chest. He began to lightly rub her back.

"Hey…you ok?"

"Yeah" she said without lifting her head. "Just exhausted. That took a lot out of me!"

"It's the adrenaline let down. You're so hopped up on adrenaline while you're in the moment, that you crash as soon as it's over!"

"I guess you're right." She said as she pulled away from Lee and ducked under the closet bar and exited the elevator.

Lee opened the door of the bull pen for Amanda and let her enter before him. The two made a beeline for Billy's office where they could see Billy, Francine and Dr. Smyth were waiting.

"Amanda! What a great job!" Francine said as the two entered Billy's office.

"Real top-notch work there, Amanda! Have a seat." Billy said.

Amanda sat in the chair opposite Billy's desk, Francine took the chair beside her.

"Thank you, sir. I hope what I got was useful."

"It was, indeed, Mrs. King." Dr. Smyth chimed in. "We knew Pierce was up to no good but lacked the proof he was playing footsie with the Russians."

"What do we do now?" Amanda asked.

"WE don't do anything. Your part in this is done. This has now become something much more serious and is being kicked upstairs." Billy said.

"But.." Amanda began.

"No buts, Mrs. King. You are finished with Mark Pierce. You have done your service to your country and should be very proud. But it's time for you to go home for the evening while Melrose and I plan the next step." Dr. Smyth said pointedly.

"Amanda, enjoy the time off. You did a fantastic job. You should be very proud of yourself." Billy said.

"Oh, I am. Thank you."

"That was risky asking him straight out about his buyers" Francine said.

"Yeah…REALLY risky" Lee chimed in with a slightly annoyed tone.

"Well clearly, she knew what she was doing, Scarecrow. It paid off. Without risk, there is no reward" Dr. Smyth said as he looked at Lee and took a drag off his cigarette. "I thought that at the end of the movie, we saw that the scarecrow actually had brains all along."

Lee gritted his teeth and glared at Dr. Smyth.

With case file in hand, Francine got up to go attend to the details of the case. "Oh, Amanda. I need those glasses back."

"Oh!" Amanda said turning her eyes towards her forehead where the sunglasses were resting. She snatched them and handed them to Francine. "Forgot I even had them."

Amanda looked at Billy and Dr. Smyth and then to Lee. They were all looking at Amanda and smiling, except for Dr. Smyth who had his usually cynical expression pasted on his face.

Amanda noticed that the clock on the wall indicated that it wasn't even noon yet. The day already seemed to have lasted a whole year. She was mentally and physically tired and was ready to leave.

"Well, if there is nothing else you need from me, I guess we'll be going, if that's ok." Amanda said breaking the awkward silence and standing up from the chair. Lee made eye contact with her and gave her a quick wink.

"More than ok, Amanda. If I think of anything else we need, I'll give you a call." Billy said.

"Thank you, sir. Bye-Bye"

"Ta-ta" Dr. Smyth said as he claimed the chair Amanda just vacated.

Lee opened the door for Amanda and they both exited Billy's office.

"Lee, please take me back to the apartment. I need a rest." Amanda said with a look of exhaustion on her face.

"You bet" Lee said as he smiled at her and placed his hand on the small of her back.
